ECM Architecture Planning

Hi Guys
I have an architecture question regarding WebLogic or the reuse of WebLogic admin servers related to a new ECM environment.
We have a WebCenter environment which consists of a Development, Test, and Production. All running on Weblogic 11G, each environment (Development, Test, and Production) have its own WebLogic admin Server (3 WebLogic admin servers). We are planning to install a Development, Test, and Production ECM 11G environment. Should we reuse the current WebLogic admin servers we have for the WebCentre environment to also administer our ECM environment or, should we have separate Development, Test, and Production WebLogic admin servers for the new ECM 11g Environment? I am not sure which option is the correct way?
Hope I make sense…
Regards

Hi
Thanks for the reply...
We are undergoing a System Renewal project for a University and are busy renewing their old systems with Oracle Products. It is big project and the various teams are implementing peoplesoft, SOA/BPEL, WebCentre, OID/OVD, ECM, and some other components all at the same time. Most of the above are running on the old application server except WebCenter and with the plan in mind to upgrade all onto WebLogic we are going to end up with a lot of WebLogic admin servers. I was just wondering whether we should reuse those WebLogic admin servers or if it would be better not to?
We will be using all of the components inside the ECM suite so it’s a complete install. High availability is very important so we definitely going to install clusters in the test and production environment.

  • How to disable ECM Compensation Plans

    Hi people:
We have an issue with the Compensation Planning ECM iView of the our MSS 6.1. We want to hide a couple of Plans (the tabs) from the current iView. We have tried with all the different parameters included on the iView, but we have not been able to modify anything apart from the columns groups or the columns assigned to the iView on the parameters
We have reviewed all the Object and Data Provider tables but we have not found anything related to this of how to enable or disable the Compensation plans tabs from the ECM Compensation Planning and ECM Compensation Approval
We have reviewed as well the Compensation Workset guides but apart from parameters to modify the navigation or the content of each Compensation plan, we have not found any reference which can guide us. We have tested the following parameters VIEWIDSAL, VIEWIDBONREG,VIEWIDBONOFF,VIEWIDLTI and play with them removing and changing the standard parameter ECMNAV,ECMBON,ECMLTI,ECMSAL based on the ODAP, but we have not found anything which can help us.
Has anyone knows if it is possible and how to achieve this on the Portal?
    Kind regards

    Hi Gonzalo,
Each tab in ECM corresponds to a Plan as created for Enterprise Compensation Management in configuration.  Whether the tab appears or not depends on whether it is assigned to the Review also created in ECM.  The Program assignment will determine whether an employee is eligible for a particular Plan, but the name will appear on the tab but all entry columns will be blanked out.
We just completed introduction of ECM and configured 1 review item for 2007.  There were 6 plans each with a separate tab - Hourly Merit, Salaried Merit, Hourly Market Adjustment, Salaried Market Adjustment, Lump Sum Adjustment and a Summary tab.  The columns that appeared on each tab were configured in the Object and Data Provider and each one was different.  Both hourly and salaried employees appeared on all tabs, but no entry could be made in the Salaried tabs for Hourly employees and the same for Salaried in the Hourly tabs.  The Summary tab was custom designed and had all information about both hourly and salaried and provided overall department totals.
To remove the tabs, you must remove the plans from the review.  You did not explain which tabs or why, but if you wanted to separate the salaried tabs from the hourly, you would have to create two reviews and then select the plans you want to display in each.  You would use the features to indicate which reviews would be available for which employees.  The managers would then have two entries in MSS to select the reviews for the salaried employes or the reviews for the hourly.  As explained above, we combined them so we could have department totals including all employees.

  • Slow opening and scrolling through architectural plans

When I open PDFs of architectural plans, they run very slowly and take a long time for each page to load.  Some pages load extremely quickly, while other more complicated pages in the same file take a long time and frequently freezes "preview".  Converting the file, compressing it or altering it in anywhat is a waste of time, as I look at hundered of these files per day from multiple servers.  Adding RAM or altering the computer in any way doesn't make sense either, as I am running a 2014 Macbook Pro with 2GHz Core 7, 8GB RAM 1600 MHz DDR3.  My co workers old PCs load and run them just fine.

  • Illustrator and Architecture Plans

    Hi guys,
I have to draw the walls on a architecture plan as well as put color to rooms and furniture over a PDF. I do know the basics of lines and pathfinder in case of intersection and also use Smart Guides. Nevertheless does anybody knows a good tutorial on architecture drawing with Illustrator? I am doing a search in Youtube and there isn't much.
I should also have to choose a nice set of colors for different rooms and furniture. Some sample that i found in internet looks a bit dull to me.
    http://josephsandy.com/blog/2009/10/27/small-house-floor-plan-350-sq-ft/
I thinks a should go for a more vibrant but light hue. I might look at what Kuler tells.
Thanks for any info or help!
    Cheers,

To be fast and easy...try using a 3D architecture program
in 2D mode....export image....trace over it in Illy.
Why? Because it is fast, easy, and accurate...and get IMSI TurboFloorplan pro 3D for less than $100.....will do most anything you will need...simple drag and drop walls, doors, windows, furniture, landscape.
Maybe you won't even need Illy in the end unless you need specific .ai or vector format.

  • Additional Columns in ECM - Compensation Planning view

    Hello
We have a requirement to hide some columns in MSS Compensation Planning view.
I know that this column framework can be configured using OADP.
But my issue is that, we wanted to hide the specific columns (like Amount) only for one compensation plan and not other  plans (all these plans are in the same category "Additional payments").
Can the column framework be made Compensation Plan specific?
    Could anybody suggest me?
    Thank you & Regards
    Raghu Kolukuluri

    Hi Saurabh,
I have similar requirement for ECM implementation that for a specific comp plan I want to display two columns otherwise not. You mentioned that you could achieve it via OADP; however I can't find any linkage between the comp plan and data view.
I can see standard data views (following and more)
    MSS_ECM_APR_BON     Approval: Bonus
    MSS_ECM_PLA_BON     Planning: Bonus
    MSS_ECM_REV_BON     Planning: Bonus (Review)
And I believe If I change the view for MSS_ECM_*_BON; it will affect all the views related to bonus plans. I was able to add 2 columns there too.
Now question is -- Is it possible to give drop-down values to one of these columns ? e.g. my column is Status and I want to allow only 5 statuses, can I bring the drop-down in the portal without any WDJ application change ? I'd like to achieve it via config if possible.
At the column definition/config level in SPRO, I can see following:
    Convers. Rout.
    FM for Column Contents
    FM from Column Framework
    Service Key
Can I use any of these to achieve such drop-down?
Please let me know if you have any clue.
    Thank you

  • ECM - Review Planning / Planning Overview (Compensation Approval)

    Hello Experts,
I am looking for a resolution to a problem I am encountering when using MSS -> Planning ->  Review Planning (Compensation Approval) (mss 1.4, ep4).
when launching the review planning webdynpro the following error messages are displayed:
A fatal error has occurred. Please inform your system administrator
No compensation review is assigned to your user
The user is a chief, and is also a higher level chief from the original chief who submitted the planning.
I have experiemented with the spro setting for User Interface Settings -> Define Attributes for Planning Overview
where the all Org. Units have Eligible Employees has been tested with it checked and unchecked.
additionally we ran the report for the respective org units to Prepare Organizational Units for Compensation Planning (RHECM_PREP_ORGUNITS_FOR_PLNG)
Please let me know if you have any ideas?
    Best Regards,

so figured out the root cause of the problem and why the checkmark "Org units have elgible employees" did not work originally.
when running the report it is trying to find org units based on the compensation review effective dates.  In our case we left the end date of the review as blank.  this new report does not like blanks based on the way it selects the org unit.
make sure you have an end date for your review in table V_T71ADM08.

  • ECM - PERNR selection in Comp Planning

In MSS ECM Compensation Planning -> my first page is with the org units under me ( if me as manager) and then once I select the org unit, select 'Show Employee's and then select employees and click 'Plan'.
Question is: Suppose I had 5000 employees in the org units under me and out of those approx 100 are eligible for a particular compensation plan, then I want to see only 100 PERNRs only on my next screen i.e planning screen. Currently SAP shows all 5000 pernrs with the column status as 'Ineligible' for those 4900 employees and 'In Planning' for 100 employees.
Is it possible to achieve such filtered list, i.e the list of only employees who are eligible for the selected compensation plan ?
    Thank you
    Krupa Pancholi

    it is definitely possible.
in my previous implementation we actually heavily controlled the list displayed on both the planning and approving screens.  we had very complex logic to determine who a "planning manager" was for an employee based on if the manager had a budget amount assigned to him.
on the approving screen we had logic so that it could only be done by executives for 1 type of plan, and then another all types of other logic for another plan, like real science fiction stuff.
so controlling the list is farily easy....
under mss object and data provider:  go to organizational structure views -> define org views - in this transaction you will find:
    MSS_ECM_SEL_DIR     Direct Reports
    MSS_ECM_SEL_LIS     Employees from Organizational Units
    MSS_ECM_SEL_REV     Direct Reports
    MSS_ECM_SEL_SEA     Employee Search
    MSS_ECM_SEL_TRE     Employees from Organizational Structure
does the list look familiar???  it corresponds to each of the values available in your down list for ECM.
When looking at details of any of these views you will see there is a an objection selection view, example :  MSS_ECM_SEL_OB1
so now to view the object selection view?  go to object provider -> define object selections...
check on our example here:  MSS_ECM_SEL_OB1 ->  go to details of this... on this screen you see "RULES" defined.
now we are at where the magic happens....  take the first rule:  MSS_ECM_SEL_RU1
go to object provider ->  define rules for object selection:  search on MSS_ECM_SEL_RU1
go to it's detailed screen - here you see they have the evalatuion path:  SAP_MANG
well it your scenario.  you will create Z views / rules across everything I just described.  then instead of using an evalatuion path your z rule right here will use a custom function module.  here you make it do backflips.  have all bonus planning go to an HR manager?  ceo does everyone?  hourly managers find no results?  woola...
this has to be applied to each view you want to control.
    magic!

    hi,
as far as I know this can not be achieved through oadp configuration, as the previous user mentioned these columns are only for display / informational purposes.
If you needed to add a column to capture extra input in a custom column, I am pretty sure you will have to copy the sap standard webdynpro for planning and then in your z copy do the development for the extra column with a drop down.
    best regards,

  • ECM Employee Does Not Meet the Requirements Error

We're receiving an error on the ECM compensation planning iView for certain eligible employees.  It says, 'employee does not meet the requirements to proceed with this action' error.  Have you seen this error before?  If yes, then what fixed it?  These employees are eligible on IT758 records.

    I can think of this:
    Scenario 1
Configuration setting in V_T71ADM08: Anytime review is checked for your review.
System response: Dates in V_T71ADM10 are not checked and you are able to process the review.
    Scenario 2
    Configuration setting in V_T71ADM08:
Anytime review is not checked for your review.
    Selection period 01/01/2010 - 04/15/2010
    Review period 12/31/2009 - 12/31/2009
    Configuration setting in V_T71ADM10:
    Effective Date 3/31/2010 (fixed)
System response: Error as the effective date is March 31st 2010. The review will only be effective for that day. Anytime review does not check this date as explained in the 1st scenario. I think you need to remove the fixed effective date and use the effective date begin and end date as 01/01/2010 u2013 04/15/2010. You would then also uncheck the anytime review setting in V_T71ADM08. I think the review period in the same table should also match the effective dates.
    Hope this helps.

  • I AM SWITCHING TO A MBP FOR GRAD SCHOOL & TO REPLACE MY DEAD DELL.

(I should say I am using a brother's mac now so anything that you see in the area of personal profile stuff, is not mine. There is nothing that should be about me or my computer.)
Hey- I thank you for at least attempting to see what it is I am needing, and if you can, please feel free to give me any suggestions. I will use them as just that-suggestions-in case I might need ones. So please if you feel you can help me, tell me your situation. I will be the one who ultimately decides if it is something I want to look more into. I am headed to an architecture/planning program that has some serious IT requirements. I have never used a MBP, 17" with the intense graphics set-up it has. I have had some experience with Tiger, but none with Leopard and SL. OK, that is my "brief" intro so you kind of know where I am coming from. finally, I am not going into this like I am buying an iPod, some serious help from the school, the Dean of the Program, the Assoc. of Professional and Academic Architectures (which I have been a member of for sometime), and a few friends from way back who have finished and successfully passed the program and some licensing exams required. All of them had their say on the computer to use and if it was a Mac, much more info as given.
    1. Any good/bad experience with the latest MBP and I hope to have the SL installed. If it does not come installed, I will install it. Any thoughts on using what basically sounds like a fine tuned Leopard OS? I have to have several programs that require a lot of power and memory, especially CAD. So, I am getting all the RAM I can at his point. I have been told to not get Apple ram, but I have decided to get the ram from apple and just max out the bays so it is covered under applecare and I am trying to avoid as many potential problems during the program with the computer and the external hard drive for back-ups as possible. (Do not want to have to remove off brand ram and install the ram that came with the MBP before they will service it all during finals; if I can help it.)
    2. any suggestions on Apple or other brand (Targus, etc.) who have quality carrying cases for this MBP 17".
    3. any thoughts on the matte compared to the glossy display? I am probably going with the matte display.
    4. any good articles by Apple on this site that addresses basic maintenance requirements. I understand with Apple computers the less the better, but it seems like I am reading more and more articles on routine care and if no applecare was purchased, and it turned out to be a big problem, I would not know what to do.
    5. I do need to max out on ram, but I really do not need the 2 intense graphic set-up this machine has; especially one have its own dedicated source. I might be a good ting in the 3 or 4th year but I really have not looked into this like I should. Is the 17" the only one that has this type of dual-graphic display?
    6. I know you all hate long posts, but the last question is what people think about that new mouse? I am worried about learning the track-pad so the mouse might be a little better. I am heading to the Apple Store today to try one out. Hopefully they have this available.
I really appreciate any pointers you have given me-even if you do not think they will not be helpful. I have learned so much on various forums from these type of posts, once I get through all the BS. There are a lot of people who come to these just to play games, but some very educated people too and to give others your help is a great thing to do. So thanks!!

    Hi there,
    1. Any brand-new Mac should, by this time, have Snow Leopard installed on it by default. I doubt that much stock from pre-SL is still kicking around. If, by chance, the machine doesn't have SL preinstalled, there will be an install disc included in the box.
    2. I use an Incase sleeve with my MBP. The MBP goes in that sleeve, and then the MBP + sleeve goes into a padded laptop carrying compartment in my backpack. I carry it around with me at university every day and have yet to have a problem, scratch, or ding. The MBP is still in pristine condition, so I recommend a dual-protection setup like this.
    3. I have the glossy display and find no reason to complain. I think the whole glossy vs. matte thing is completely overblown. If you ever get a reflection from the glossy screen, adjusting the angle of the screen by 1-2º gets rid of the reflection completely! And the picture is much better on a glossy screen. I've never been bothered by my glossy screen, and have never regretted getting it instead of matte. But, go look at them both for yourself and decide.
    4. I don't really do any maintenance on my Mac at all. It isn't really necessary. I would just use the machine and if you ever start to notice problems, that is when you do the maintenance.
    5. The 17" and upper-level 15" models have the dual-graphics in them. I don't see any disadvantage to this type of setup unless money is a large issue for you. It never hurts to have the extra graphics power, especially if you are doing things like CAD. You don't have to use the dedicated card, but if you ever do, it might be nice to have it.
    6. Don't worry about learning the trackpad. I thought i'd need to buy a mouse for mine and I'm sure glad I didn't waste the money. The trackpad is great and I can do anything using it just as fast, if not faster, than with a mouse. Scrolling, browsing the net, window management with Expose, etc. is completely intuitive with the multi-touch gestures. I don't use a mouse with mine at all. Having said all that, I have a new Magic Mouse with our new iMac and that thing is amazing as well. I find myself using that machine sometimes just to play with the mouse. Momentum scrolling is great, and the mouse tracks really smoothly and quietly on any surface. I'm really happy with it, and do recommend it!

  • I would Like to try a Canon all-in-one laser printer...

I have not configured my new MacBook Pro yet but I have a few questions.
    1. I have been using Tiger for the past 3 years and will be using Snow Leopard (installed, I hope) with the new MacBook. Is there anything anyone can think of (besides not making the mistake again and not upgrading to Leopard to get me prepared a bit more for Snow Leopard) that will make the transition from this MacBook Pro, which is acting like an old PC that is infected with all types of viruses and other ad ware, spy ware, etc. I am not sure what it going on, other than the fact that I have never known or received a clear answer on what I should be doing to keep the machine in top condition.
I o have to gt a new one for the grad architecture planning program I am starting, but I would like to get this machine in the est possible position I can and try to sell it.
So any advice or areas I should think about? I have the new OS X Snow Leopard: The Missing Manual by David P. and I think it will help me a lot/
One very specific question I have is trying to purchase the correct CD/DVD for making a copy of the Deluxe TechTool, songs, back-up docs (which I have never done but am planing on getting a really durable external drive to mostly send the back-ups to. On to the CDs at Costco and Best Buy I have not fond a sales person who can explain to be what all the various initials mean and which ones are the best to have for saving things and using the same CD for saving additional date of it is not full and if I want to be able to go back and erase some of the date and r-write over it.
the last CDs I purchased, I put a few songs on one and I could not put anything else. Maybe there is an article that focuses on this topic and explains all the various initials but I really need to learn this. Any help would be much appreciated. Also is there a difference in the sound of recorded music when burning music using a CD that I can keep using until it is full and if I want to make it so that I can't (or any of my brothers can't copy over what I have burned on to the CD?) Not sure if that makes sense. Is there a better quality CD that one would use for music only and when the CD is full I would be ale to do something so that this specific CD can't be used again when it is full, and I make it unusable if anybody tries to add or take away from it.
Thanks. I hope this is not to long. I am really excited to use a different mac and operating system and I hope it all works out. I think it is awesome what some of you guys and gals do by helping us less intelligent one figure some of this stuff out. guys I better speak for myself. So, Thank you!

Add a While Loop, inside the loop add the Event Sructure.

    Hello all,
i have a pdf of a relatively complex architectural plan.
I dont have acces to originals and i need to use that plan for some illustaive purposes.
In the plan, I find a s**tload (over 2000) of non native art and they take a lot of cpu juices. This makes the document impossible to work with let alone select and remove every instance of these non native art pieces.
Is there a way to select and remove all of those non native art either with a js script of some other odd technique i shoulmd know about ?
