ECP unavailable when DAG is down and databases are offline

I have turned off my MBX servers for DAG failover DR testing so my mailbox db is dismounted but I cannot log into ECP although my CAS servers are up?

I thought as much, shame as would be nice to still manage organization from the ECP with the databases dismounted as we then need to revert to the shell...

If the same website is opening each time you launch a browser (Safari?) hold down the shift key as you launch to prevent previous pages from opening.
Have a look at your settings in Safari > Preferences. Especially General and Privacy.
Reset Safari to remove cookies and other stored data.

It's normal for the icons at the top level of the startup disk to revert to the same arrangement every time the Finder is relaunched. If it's important to you to arrange those icons in a persistent way, proceed as follows.
Back up all data.
Open the Info window on the startup disk (labeled "Macintosh HD" unless you gave it another name.) Click the lock icon in the lower right corner of the dialog and authenticate.
In the Sharing & Permissions section, click the plus-sign button to add an entry to the access list. Give yourself "Read and Write" access. This will be a temporary change. Leave the dialog open.
Open the Finder window and arrange the icons as you wish, then close the window.
In the Info dialog, use the minus-sign button to delete the entry you just added to the access list. Don't change anything else. When you're done, it should be the same as when you started. Close the Info dialog.

Comupter resets settings when i shut down and restart

My macbook laptop as of yesterday now does some kind of factory setting reset when i shut down and restart my laptop. What can I do to fix this. My picture, itunes files etc is gone. I have shut down and restarted a few times now and every time the dock and dashboard settings go away and i have to start itunes, pics etc as if I have never used those programs before. Well, the sleep/wake button is also the power button. If you cannot use it to turn on, then you cannot use it to perform a reset by holding it and the home button together until you see the Apple logo.Those are the only two ways to turn the device on. You can try letting the battery go completely dead and then trying to plug it in. After it has charged for 20-30 minutes, the device may come back on. But, without the sleep/wake button, there is no other way to turn the device on or off.

Controlfile Autobackup을 이용하여 full recovery를 수행하는 방법을 알아본다
EXPLANATION
Catalog와 Controlfile이 모두 손상되었을 경우 full recovery를 수행할 수 있도록
하기 위해 oracle9i부터 Controlfile Autobackup이라는 New feature를 제공한다.
이 Feature가 활성화되면 RMAN은 자동으로 특정 형식(specific format)으로
controlfile을 backup한다 나중에 RMAN은 Recovery catalog를 access하지 않고도
이 backup을 인식할 수 있다. 이 형식은 "%F"라는 variable을 포함하는데
이 variable은 중요한 정보인 DATABASE ID를 포함하고 있다.
이것은 다음과 같은 CONFIGURE 명령을 사용하여 Turn-on 될 수 있다.

활성화시킨 후에 controlfile autobackup의 format을 변경할 수 있다. 그러나

Controlfile backup은 backup의 끝에서 수행된다.
그리고 이 backup piece name의 두번째 string은 dbid이다(4159396170)
Current controlfile이 database와 함께 손실되고 Recovery catalog도 손상되어
사용할 수 없게 되었을 때 controlfile autobackup이 controlfile을 restore하기
위해 사용될 수 있다. restore된 controlfile은 db를 mount하고 datafile들을
restore하기 위해 사용될 수 있다.
Controlfile autobackup을 이용하여 full recovery를 수행하기 위해서는 아래와
같은 과정을 수행하면 된다.
1. Target instance를 위한 new init.ora를 생성한다. backup이 있다면 이것을
사용할 수 있다.
2. Startup nomount your new instance.
3. RMAN은 시작하나 어떤 connect statement도 수행하지 않는다.
4. RMAN prompt상에서 DBID를 설정한다. 만약 DBID를 모르면 controlfile autobackup
의 이름으로부터 이것을 알 수 있다.
RMAN> set dbid=4159396170;
5. Dbid를 설정한 후에 nomount로 startup한 target instance에 connect한다.
RMAN> connect target /
6. 만약에 backup이 disk상에 있고 controlfile autobackup을 non-default location
으로 지정하였다면 파일을 다음과 같은 위치로 옮겨 놓는다
ON UNIX : ORACLE_HOME/dbs
ON WINDOWS: ORACLE_HOME/database
RMAN은 controlfile autobackup을 찾기 위해 위 directory를 검색한다.
만약 controlfile autobackup location을 바꾸지 않으면 위 directory안에
backup이 생성되게 된다.
만약에 backup이 tape에 있다면 restore시 channel과 device를 기술하기 위해서
run block을 사용해야 한다. database가 mount되어 있지 않기 때문에
default device와 channel을 설정할 수 없다.
RMAN> run { allocate channel c_1 type 'sbt_tape'

7. Restore the controlfile:
RMAN> restore controlfile from autobackup;
8. Mount the database from the restored controlfile:

10. file들을 restore한 후에 recovery를 수행할 수 있다.
이때 current online redo log가 없고 또한 backup controlfile을 사용하기
때문에 incomplete recovery를 수행해야 한다. 이를 수행하기 위해서는
"UNTIL TIME"을 설정해야 하고 open시에는 resetlogs를 사용해야 한다.

It is not working accordingly. what I did is :-
1. I switched off the AUTOBACKUP
2. Then I took whole database backup, that means it included File # 1
3. But according to above it is going to include autobackup of controlfile and spfile in the same backupset .
4. But when I asked it to restore controlfile from autobackup it said NO AUTOBACKUP FOUND.
COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME ONCE AGAIN DEAR.
If it works accroding to above then it should have my Autobackup.

When electricity closes down and stops computer

There was a great message after 4 electric outages in a row to reboot the computer and microsoft would restore it to its original state at purchase which appeard when the computer would not start on its own. I am sure it was the best intention, but luckily
I called the person who installed the computer and read him the suggestion. He decided to shut the computer down and restart before following these instructions. My computer at work was fine. However, my husband on his day off followed your instructions and
what a mess. Some one needs to revisit this message. I do not know how many other computers were affected. Marge Peff

if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.

When opening pull down the choices are at the bottom of the screen and I cannot use the mouse to change choices

In V3, in Chrome and in Explorer this works fine. I open an eteamz site, any pulldown that I access the choices are way down on the screen. When I try to scroll through the choices I cannot with the mouse I can with the arrows.

Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. If you have either or both, uninstall or disable them/it, or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

Database fileds are not coming when connecting with ado and they are coming when connecting with odbc

Hi , I am using crystal report XI R2 in visual studio 2005 . Backend is sql server 2000. I have made a connection with odbc connectivity and using dsn. I am using a stored procedure as datasource of report. It is working fine all the database fields are available. Now when i try to connect with the ado connection having same stored procedure as datasource of report , I am not getting data fields. I dont know where is the problem in my stored procedure or in report. But when i connect through system dsn using odbc connectivity everything is working fine. A MAP filed dialogue box appears when i try to change the datasource location to ado from odbc.

There is a barely acknowledged issue. For Mac users Apple has released an update to the app, but for iOS users the recommendation is for users to update their ipad to the most recent operating system.
There may be a fix coming for iOS6 users (which seem to be many of those having problems) or there may not be. If your ipad isn't up to date then you can update it and see if that helps, or if you don't want to update then you may want to wait and see if there is either a fix or if it fixes itself.

When tabs are on top options is on; if I click a link (which is set to open in new window by web site or addon) the new opened page's tabs goes beyond the screen limit. when i restore down and restore up the page it gets its normal form.

No, it's not even remotely possible. What you encountered was an attempt to scam you, and a pathetic one at that.
Identity theft in general is a significant threat to any computer (a term encompassing Macs, PCs, iPads, iPhones...) user. However, that threat most commonly arises in the form of "phishing" and you didn't play along with it. The likely reason the email appeared to have come from one of your previous eBay vendors is that his email address was harvested using any number of methods. The email probably didn't even originate with him. eBay is a rich source for obtaining such information.
