ECperf on WebLogic 8.1
I'm trying to run ECperf 1.1 on WebLogic 8.1 but I'm observing a weird behavior
on the emulator. It's not exactly an error, and I'm not even sure there's a way
to change that. I looked for information on the web but could not find any.
The problem is: everytime I run the test the emulator executes 1000 transactions
and then stops loading the Sytem Under Test (SUT). This is not a problem for short
tests with low injection rates. But if I try to run a longer test with a higher
injection rate the SUT will be tested only for the first minutes and them will
be idle most of the time. Does anyone know how to change this so that the SUT
will be tested during all the test time?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Gustavo
I don't know the answer to your question, but there's a number of things
that make ECPerf outdated. Most notably that fact that it uses CMP 1.1.
I'd suggest you look at

Ecperf runtime bugs on BEA WebLogic Server
I have deployed Ecperf on Weblogic server, Oracle DB on Win 2000 and tested it
with the web client according to the Ecperf/README.html document, all the tests
worked just fine. And I also did a data load using "loaddb.nt.bat" file, the load
was successful. But, when I run the driver, I get the following error,
Note: I have also tried deployed SequenceEnt to use a seperate connection pool
with an isolation level of serializable to work correctly.
(Special value for use in Weblogic with Oracle DBMS Only: TRANSACTION_READ_COMMITTED_FOR_UPDATE
When this Isolation level is set for a method, the following happens: The Isolation

Your problem is probably because SequenceEnt has not been deployed
correctly - this beans needs to be deployed using a seperate connection
pool with an isolation level of serializable to work correctly.
ShantiYour weblogic-application.xml is malformed. Just google for the solution.

Ann: ECperf Uncovered Whitepaper
Dublin, Ireland, September 4, 2002 Inspired today announced that it is making available a white paper, ECperf Uncovered which provides an insight into the transactional execution plans of 3 application server vendors - BEA, Borland and Pramati.
Visit: www.jinspired.com
Download: http://www.jinspired.com/products/jdbinsight/ecperf.html
The white paper comes packaged with a console only version of JDBInsight 1.2. Included in the packaging are 3 ECperf performance profile snapshots, BEA WebLogic 7.0, Borland BES 5.02, and Pramati 3.0, used in the production of the white paper. Readers are encouraged to use the console in conjunction with the white paper.
Inspired has also announced that the next release of JDBInsight will include a developer edition priced at 150 USD to allow JDBInsight to be used throughout the development lifecycle. With this announcement developers can start to target J2EE performance bottlenecks, JDBC resource bugs, and incorrect persistence mappings from the start, further reducing overall development costs.
About JDBInsight
============
JDBInsight is an innovative enterprise development product, aimed at simplifying the performance tuning and testing of J2EE applications, which access data through the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API. JDBInsight analyses the access of enterprise data by J2EE client-, web-, and bean containers. The analysis can encompass transaction executions, spanning multiple J2EE containers. JDBInsight captures timing and execution information for enterprise data accessed by Servlets, JavaServer Pages, Session- and Entity Beans using JDBC or an Entity Bean using a container's persistence engine.
JDBInsight provides the ability to quickly detect performance bottlenecks within a J2EE system, reducing the need to hire expensive performance tuning consultants, allocating valuable development resources or purchasing further hardware to compensate for lack of tuning. It aids testing by providing the ability to create snapshots of the database interaction during test runs.
Reason for Choosing JDBInsight
===================
Minimal Performance Overhead - During performance test runs of ECperf, JDBInsight introduced as little as 2% overhead to the runtime. Similar runs with open source solutions showed 50% degradation in the throughput figures. Using a Java profiler would result in an even greater degradation, rendering any profiling information useless.
Early Detection - Unlike most other J2EE performance assurance offerings, JDBInsight enables development teams to target performance from day one. Since most tuning efforts result in changes to application design and code, it is important this is addressed early, rather than late. JDBInsight enables project management to control development time and hardware costs.
Targets Biggest Bottleneck - Java profilers in most cases cannot identify application bottlenecks even with application server class and package filtering. The information that is provided is usually incomplete and without context. JDBInsight focuses specifically on the expensive interaction between applications and databases.
Visualizes the Invisible - With the increasing usage of persistence frameworks in J2EE application development, architects and developers find it impossible to determine what database interactions are occurring. One of the biggest problems is that the inner workings are encapsulated, thus testers are limited to black box testing, slowing down development. JDBInsight provides a visualization of the transactional nature of a J2EE application, unmatched by any other similar offering.
Application Server and Database Independent - JDBInsight allows developers to identify poorly performing SQL, independent of database and trace tools. J2EE developers need not configure a database for tracing, nor spend time learning different tools for extracting traces. JDBInsight goes far beyond the sophistication of current database tracing tools, by compacting transaction history trees and providing detailed statistics at various levels of detail. Developers using different application servers also benefit from the fact that the product is application server independent.I just retried the link which I posted here.
Under the header "ADF Data Binding Primer Article", click on the hyperlink that says "article". That should get you to the paper.
I will be updating the BC4J Toy Store for 10g sometime between now and production, yes.
You can already open it in JDeveloper 10g, and use the visual Struts page flow diagram to see it's pages and actions. After upgrade, it will still be using the direct ADF AppModule (9.0.3-style) data binding, but this style continues to work fine in 10g. -

Hi all,
I am running the ECperf benchmark against a single WebLogic server instance.
After a very short time, the driver seems to be unable to connect to the
remote WL server due to a weblogic.rjvm.PeerGoneException.
This gives a stunning result of 0 transactions on average...
Can anybody tell me what can be the cause of the PeerGoneException and how I
can go on?
Here are some excerpts from the error and report files, generated by the
benchmark:

In particular, this exception wraps another exception; somewhere in the stack trace it will report the nested exception, and the nested exception will point out what the problem is. That may not appear in your browser; you can check the j2ee output log for the full stack trace. As a wild guess, I'd say that the emulator isn't up or isn't configured properly (since your other beans seemed to work okay).
Similarly when attempting to run the driver I get
entries such as this riddled through the .err logs:That's probably the same error.

I am running WL 6.1 SP2 / DB2 / ECPerf / Win2000.That is to be expected in a transactional application. What it means is that
you would have had data corruption except that the transaction prevented it,
but one transaction had to be rolled back. It's probably due to the
isolation level. You need to determine what isolation level you are using
and whether you can run at a lower isolation level without losing data
integrity. If you can, you will still have occasional rollbacks, but fewer.

Fri Dec 01 11:04:40 GMT+05:30 2Hello Muffy,
It looks like you do not have WLS 5.1 service pack 6 installed correctly. I
say this because I do not see the sp6 message at the top of your log and I saw
this message in your log:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element "weblogic-enterprise-bean" allows no
further input; "transaction-isolation" is not allowed

Installation problem on Weblogic 10.3.2
I'm trying to install BI on Weblogic 10.3.2 under Linux. I followed the instructions in the installtion guide and edited the xmlp-server-config.xml file to change the file path to /home/repository/XMLP
under /home/repository/XMLP I have Admin, DemoFiles, Reports and Tools that I copied from my windows stand-alone application.
When I start BI I get a oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.resources.ResourceNotFoundException: ${oracle.home}/xdo/repository/Admin/Scheduler/quartz-config.properties
any idea?I had same issue with Oracle Weblogic 11g R1 (10.3.3). The problem was with the contents of the XMLP folder (not the path as the error message would suggest). The XMLP folder I was referencing in xmlp-server-config.xml was the one generated by the OBIEE installer and also configured by me using OC4J (to make sure I had a known good configuration before trying a deploy to WLS). For example, i had configured the JDBC connections and Installed the publisher scheduler tables. The fix was to use the default out of the box XMLP folder from the install media. Now the application starts without a hitch. \biee_windows_x86_101341\Windows\Server_Ancillary\Oracle_Business_Intelligence_Publisher\

Issue with JPDs in my weblogic application
I have a weblogic integration application running on WL 8.1 SP5. There are 2 JPDs and 2 web services in the application. I am having an issue in the live server when the application has been running for quite a while. One of the JPDs stops working. The issue is resolved by redeploying the application. On redeploying from the weblogic console, the code starts to run again!!! Has any one come across such an issue? Is this something to do with server settings? I would welcome any suggestions to solve this recurring issue.
Hi Darshan,
Thanks for your answer.
I change my package to do an another test.
My XML :
<dataTemplate name="XXAPINMOXML" description="SUIVI DES INTERETS MORATOIRES" defaultPackage="XXAPINMO_PKG">
<dataQuery>
<parameters>
<parameter name="p_type_edition"/>
</parameters>
<PROPERTIES>
<property name="include_parameters" value="true"/>
</PROPERTIES>
My package :
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE XXAPINMO_PKG AS
p_type_edition varchar2(150);
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package XXAPINMO_PKG;
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY XXAPINMO_PKG
AS
FUNCTION beforeReport return boolean is
BEGIN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'p_type_edition ' || p_type_edition);
IF p_type_edition = 'Y' THEN
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case Y');
ELSE
fnd_file.put_line(FND_FILE.LOG,'Case N');
END IF;
return true;
END beforeReport;
END XXAPINMO_PKG;
show errors package body XXAPINMO_PKG;
Then I launch my concurrent program with 'Y' in parameter and I see the log of my concurrent program :
XDO Data Engine Version No: 5.6.3
Resp: 51213
Org ID : 45
Request ID: 2468909
All Parameters: p_type_edition=Y
Data Template Code: XXAPINMOXML
Data Template Application Short Name: XXAP
Debug Flag: N
{p_type_edition=Y}
Calling XDO Data Engine...
Début des messages de journalisation à partir du fichier FND_FILE.
p_type_edition
Case N
Fin des messages de journalisation à partir du fichier FND_FILE.
But normally it should be 'Case Y' which would be written ...
And when I see the XML via Diagnostic I don't see the parameter however I add <property ...>
I really don't understand ...
Maybe do you have an another idea ?

Problem with links in deployed ADF application to Weblogic Server 11g
Hi everyone !
I have a query here, firstly, I have created an ADF application using Jdeveloper 11g and have successfully deployed (EAR file) onto the weblogic server.
However, after testing out the application, the linking within the application does not seem to work. Whenever I click on a link or button, the page refreshes but the result is not displayed.
What could have cause the problem?
Thanks
GavinAre the ADF runtime libraries installed into the WebLogic server?

ThanksHi
1. Deleting a domain will not hold any references. But make sure that under your user_projects/applications also remove the folder that matches with your domain. Basically under user_projects folder you will see 2 folders named applications and domains. When you create a domain say mySoaDomain, it will crate a folder with the same name under applications folder also with few files like em.ear. If you do this, then you can crate a new soa domain and use the same old name.
2. NOW comes the most important thing. If you create a new SOADomain, at one point, you had to give details for soainfra and mds schemas. If you give your current existing db details (that was used for your old deleted domain), then you may still have the issues. Because the soainfra db may still have the instances for your old process.
3. If you really want to have a full clean soa domain, here is what you do:
a) Run rcu and drop the existing schemas for soainfra and mds.
b) Run rcu again and create above schemas again.
c) Now create SOADomain using config wizard and refer above clean rcu db and you are all set.
3. Under your domain root folder, just searh for files named with your workflow and you should see the .jar location.
Thanks

Assigning a node value from an XML variable to a String type in Weblogic Process Integrator
Hi,
Is there any way to assign a node value from an XML variable to a String variable
in Weblogic Process Integrator...
Thanx.
Narendra.Nerendra
Are you talking about using Xpath on the XML document and assigning to a
variable, it is unclear what you are asking

Initially this application was giving me absolute path related errors.But when I made changes to applicationContext.xml as follows,giviing absolute path for Hibernate mapping files
<property name="mappingDirectoryLocations">
<list>
*<value>file:D:\saas-mappings</value>*
</list>
</property>
I have extrached all the *.hbm.xml file to above location that is D:\saas-mappings.But now the application is giving me above mentioned error.The error says that it is related to Named queries.I am pasting the contents of a sample *.hbm.xml file having named query as a sample

<hibernate-mapping package="com.psl.saas.domain">
<class name="TenantSlaUsage" table="tenantslausage_v2">

<property name="maxValue">
<column name="maxValue"></column>
</property>
<property name="thresholdValue">
<column name="thresholdValue"></column>
</property>
<property name="slaType" column="slaType" type="com.psl.saas.dataservice.SaasEnumSlaType"/>
<many-to-one name="slaCriterion" class="SLACriterion" column="slaCriterionName" lazy="false" unique="true" />
<property name="usageCount">
<column name="usageCount"></column>
</property>
</class>
*<query name="slaUsageOfTenant.bySlaCriterion">
from com.psl.saas.domain.TenantSlaUsage where tenantId=:tenantId and slaCriterionName=:slaCriterionName
</query>*
</hibernate-mapping>
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated
Thanks in Advance
-Sameer GijareHi,
For a tutorial with source on how to create and deploy a simple quickstart JEE5 JPA enterprise 3-tier application on your Oracle WebLogic 10.3 server - see the following example that uses the EclipseLink JPA provider. You should be able to transition all of your mapping information (the @ManyToOne and table/column overrides and named queries for example) using either JPA via entity annotations or native extensions if you do not want to implement EJB3.
see...
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial
We also have a similar version for Tomcat 6 except the JPA entity beans run outside a container-managed JTA transaction on the web container - for reference.

How finder shares multiple images at once and how can I use this in my app?
You can share multiple images (or other documents) at once in finder. It's probably possible to make an app in Xcode that does exactly the same thing as well, but I don't know how. I really want to because I'm a bit curios. I would love if there are
