Hi guys,
I been working on my graphic novel the zend. I got all content and I try to decide flash or edge ? I think edge, but I came accross problem. I have 7 slides (svg each 560k) and when I prewiev in browser my animation is not smooth. Especially when I use ff or ie9. Google chrome is ok. Animation is very simple(for now, but cost me problems) , there is very few things on time line but still cracking. Why thins happen? How can i fix that? Im goin to build complex graphic novel but I'm afraid browser compatabillity may be a big problem.

Wow, 550k x 7 = over 3.5MB! It seems like you should try to optimize your graphics a little bit - perhaps you can try with smaller images at first to see if the image size is a factor in the poor performance of your animation. A second thing we've seen is that sometimes the browsers don't handle slow animations in very smoothly. This seems to vary from browser to browser.

You can reduce or increase the font size of the page according to the way you like. Click on "Reading" under the Menu option -> "EPUB Text Size". Select appropriate font size from this option.
Reduce or decrease the font size so that you can see the entire page.

Why won't a graphic novel download?

I Bought a copy of arkham reborn #2 but it won't download to my iPad, issues #1 & #3 had no problems whatsoever. All three come up in my purchased history but #2 has the download symbol next to it.

How do I prepare a graphic novel or text novel or any sort of readable material as an app download thru the App Developer software? Or do I have to buy other electronic publishing software?

The iOS Dev Center is packed with examples and code that is available to all registered devs, but it is up to the individual to learn and create what they need accordingly.
If you require something less daunting, closer to a recipe, Apple recently introduced iBooks Author, which may suit you better.

Interactive Graphic Novel

I'm working on an interactive graphic novel. It will be made in InDesign and then saved as a PDF/EPUB. The issue becomes the "interactive" part. I think AIR is the answer for that. I want to start with a demo product with some basic interactive capabilites. My experience with Air is...well lets just say I am looking for some help. I want the reader to be able to click on any pictures of computers in the novel and get an interface where they can look through files, videos, and eventually a game. I want to implant Easter Eggs where if the reader clicks on them a secret organization in my world will invite them to join allowing them access to more files in the "computer".
This is a science fiction universe we are creating and I will eventually be putting out a series of graphic novels each along a particular story line.
I hope it's okay to say that I can pay but not a lot. Perhaps that's why my search via other avenues has not provided me a suitable candidate. If this sounds interesting to you and you feel you are capable of creating a "cool" looking interface I would love to talk with you.

Elements 11 not responding when using "comic" or "graphic novel" filter

I recently purchased PSE 11 and absolutely LOVE the program. It has worked flawlessly for me for 3 weeks, however, today was the first time I ever tried to use the "comic strip" filter and the "graphic novel" filter and the program stopped responding when trying to use these filters.
I am able to use the other filters contained under the "sketch" dropdown menu, however, the 2 that I have mentioned do not seem to work.
Any ideas what might be wrong?
I am running a Windows 7 computer and as previously mentioned, all other functionality seems to be working in Elements 11 except for those 2 filters.

Try resetting the PSE preferences by
   1. Close Elements.
   2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Edit.
   3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
OR
GO to Edit->Preferences and you will see Reset Preferences on next launch
Click this button to ensure that all product preferences are reset to default settings when Elements Editor is restarted next. Available at Preferences > General.
OR
Try with normal JPEG image also.

What to do to install Graphic Novel 1.8 on macbook ?

I had been installed Graphic Novel 1.8 on my macbook, but it state
"After completing this install, you will need to relaunch Final Cut Pro in order to use the GNL plug-in."
I dont get what it is mean.tried to google to found out.. but I cant find anything either. Please help me. thank you

GNL is a plugin that works with Final Cut Pro. Yes, you need to have FCP to use this. You quit Final Cut Pro...install the plugin...then open Final Cut Pro. YOu will see this plugin in the EFFECTS tab, under VIDEO FILTERS>SHEFFIELD SOFTWORKS.

Graphic novel filter

when trying to use the graphic novel filter my elements crashes every time, if i use graphic pen it works but on looking at the drop down menu after using graphic pen graphic novel is not in the drop down menu. help please xx photoshop elements 11

Try to reset the preferences of photoshop elements:
If you've set Photoshop Elements to open in Full Edit (no Welcome window), do the following.
Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Mac: Cmd + Opt + Shift).
Open Photoshop Elements.
A window will appear.
Click Yes to delete the Photoshop Elements preference file.
A new preferences file is created the next time you start Photoshop Elements.

Graphic Novel Filters in Photoshop Creative Cloud?

Hello,
Will the Graphic Novel, Comic, and Pen and Ink filters introduced in Photoshop Elements 11 being coming to Photoshop CC? I used these quite often with the trial of PS Elements 11, but now that I have a CC subscription, I miss those features.
So I guess my question is, is there anyway to migrate those over to the full version of PS?

Comic and Graphics Novel filters, Elements 11 editor crashes

I just downloaded Elements 11 Editor for mac OSX 10.9, and when I try to use any of the new filters (comic, Graphic Novel, etc), it crashes. What do I do?

It is known issue on Mac 10.9 .
Since the stated system requirement for PSE 11 was till Mac 10.8.(http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-photoshop-elements.h tml)
So you have to either upgrade to PSE 12 or stick with older version of Mac.

The majority of ibooks from the iBookstore have digital rights management on them which tie them to the iBooks apps on iOS devices and Mac computers. You might be able to read free ibooks on your PC and those from publishers who don't include DRM on their books (e.g. O'Reilly) using apps such as Calibre, but you won't be able to read most ibooks on windows computers.

Whats the simplest way to make a wrapper for 90 image graphic novel?

Hi. I have a graphic novel I want to convert into an app. There is some debate on what is the best route to go. It will have appx 90 images, so the images need to be unloaded as you go so memory is not an issue. The only controls are forward, back, and a button link to the app store, and a button link to the website. It needs additional memory management to make the last page viewed resume if the reader comes back after being interrupted. I have been told i need to work with uiscrollview and paging enabled, I was just looking to see if anyone had a simpler idea, or knew of code that was similar. Ths scrolling app is almost there, I am just unsure of how to adjust the code for images that fit the screen, as well as adding in the memory management features.

An intuos II to whoever solves this program!
The pagecontrol.app sample app has most of what is needed.
Things that remain are:
1) intelligent unloading of images to reduce memory
2) a simple way to handle any number of prenamed images (possibly 100)
3) data persistence so that resuming the app brings you back to the last page viewed
4) a button on the first page to call a url in safari

Reading a graphic novel is very awkward with ADE. Is there a way to make it scroll more smoothly?

This is, by far, the worst client for graphic novels. It's slow and jerky to the point of being distracting.

you can disable smooth scrolling.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General: Browsing: "Use smooth scrolling"
