Edge Animate 2014 crashes Windows explorer

While working with Edge 3.0 there were no conflict between win7 and edge. But when my html5 development team updated edge 3.0 to edge 2014 all of us getting this error : "Windows explorer has stopped working" while rightclicking on desktop or copying files from a folder to another. I get this error even while doing nothing (no clicking or pressing keys). And my solution for this crash is rolling back for now. Uninstalled edge 2014 and reinstalled edge 3.0 everyrthing is okay. So is this common error for you guys? Anyone knows a solution?

Hi preran,
it's the desktop explorer not the browsers. Adding screenshot... as you can see animatecc2014 even not opened but when I uninstalled it and installed edge 3.0 I don't get this error anymore.

  • Adobe Edge Animate CC crashes when using big SVG images

    Hi!
When I import SVG files to Edge Animate it freezes and I can't do something with that.
I tried to import one file at a time and it worked fine but when I save project and close program and then open my project again Edge Animate just crashes.
Also I tried to import very small images (100px x 100px) and then scale them to size I need and it causing app crash too.
    I'm using Mac OS X 10.9.4

I already found cause of this problem.
When you import SVG to Edge Animate it gives your SVG width and height 10 times more then original size of image and transform: scale(0.1). So when you import 5 SVG images 500x500 Adobe Edge makes them 5000x5000.
So that's cause app freezing and bad SVG displaying in browsers.
Always change scale(0.1) to scale(1) and reduce size from 5000px to 500px for example.
    Best regards,
    Alexey Prilovski.

  • Edge Animate 2014.1.1 is now live

    Hi all,
Edge Animate 2014.1.1 addresses a majority of the concerns reported by you post the October release of Edge Animate (2014.1). See http://helpx.adobe.com/edge-animate/kb/edge-animate-501.html
if you do not see the update listed in your CC application, sign out of the application and sign in again. For instructions, see  Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app
On a high speed internet connection, it took me under 5 minutes to install the application. After you install, open the application, and select Help > About. The version should be listed as 2014.1.1.
For any questions related to this update, please create separate posts.
    Thanks,
    Preran

This is a known issue. They are working on it.
If you want you can have both versions installed. You could keep the older version for old projects for now and use the upgrade for new projects.

  • Edge Animate 2014.1 ???

    Edge Animate 2014.1
    Hi,
I created a (large/extensive) project/s using Edge Animate CC 2014.1” in Trial mode, now expired.
I have an annual subscription to all of the complete Adobe CC suite.
         - as part of this Adobe CC suite subscription, Edge Animate CC 2014 is said to be up-to-date, and there are no updates for it. The so version - CC 2014 and not CC 2014.1
         What happened to 2014.1?
The project/s I created using CC 2014.1 are not backward compatible and cannot be opened by CC 2014?
Can anyone help with this issue?
    Thanks Dan

Yes I have the latest installed - though it appears as 2014.1 via CC Manager, if you open Edge Animate go to Help > About menu it should show as 2014.1.1
As for the trial mode, though you have a paid subscription go through this help documentation. Creative Cloud website shows trial options after purchase | CS6, CCM

  • Why is my navbar not loading in edge animate 2014?

Just upgraded Edge animate to the new Adobe Edge animate 2014 but now my navigation won't load in preview browser.

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Captivate 8 + Edge Animate 2014 = Mouse Hover

    Hi!
I'm trying to input some interactive animations on Captivate 8 but getting really crazy.
The project is responsive and I done an animated logo in Edge Animate 2014 in a hope that I can put it into Captivate, but when I publish as .OAM and import it into Captivate, these turn into a video and do not have any kind of interaction.
The basic idea is: user hover mouse the logo and that one reproduce an animation.
Any way I can make it work? With a button it's not a option because I have some effects/transictions.
    Thnks

At this moment there is no direct communication possible between CP and OAM's. They are indeed only considered to be an 'animation', not interactive. I regret this also very much, but you have to live with it until this communication improves. Maybe it is possible with JS, but in that case I pass the question to David (TLCMediaDesign) because I have not experimented yet to use JS for that purpose. I have inserted OAM's with interactivity, like buttons to stop, to trigger something happening, but with the buttons inside of the OAM, not in CP. OAM has to be considered as a separate block inside CP.

  • Edge Animate CC crashes on right-click on any Object in Elements window

    Hi,
Every time I right click on an Object in Elements window Animate crashes on me.
Same thing happens, when i click on the "Open Actions" Button - "{ }"
I really would apreciate some kind of help with this problem, since I am able to accomplish nothing this way.
    I am running on a 2010 MacBook Pro 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo - OSX 10.9
Adobe Edge CC downloaded today via Creative Cloud
    Thanks in advance,
    have a beautiful day,

    Hi hemanth,
    Thanks for the reply,
I am Using Edge Animate 3.0.0.322.27519
(Actual Version downloded via Creative Cloud)
    I renamed the Folder
    /Users/Your User Name/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Edge Animate
    TO
    .../OLD Edge Animate
as suggested in the link you gave me...
I restarted An and not only is the problem still ocurring, but also the program did not create a new '.../Edge Animate' Folder.
The Link you gave me stated:
After you have removed your existing preferences, restart Edge Animate. The application creates new preferences files and folders using the default settings.
    This did not happen.
but program is starting normally without the preferences Folder obviously - problems stay the same
It's nice to know, that you are there to care about the problem -
thanks for that so far and if you can think of anything else -
    don't hesitate to write
    have a beautiful day,

  • Adobe Edge Animate 2014 Can't Start! -- "d3dx9_43.dll" missing. Multiple re-installs same problem. Help?? :(

This is the Dialogue I am presented after every attempt to launch Adobe Edge Animate CC 2014.
    "EdgeAnimate.exe - System Error"
"The program can't start because C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Edge Animate CC 2014\cef\d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I've re-installed Edge Animate several times now, even restarting computer between installs. For whatever reason, whenever Edge Animate is installed, this particular "d3dx9_43.dll" file will not install along with. What can I do? I use Animate frequently enough that this will become an issue if it cannot resolve soon. Please help.

  • Edge animate cc crashes at startup on win 8.1

    Hi
I installed the trial version of Edge Animate CC today on my win8.1 but when I start the application It opens for a second then closes. I get a crash message that APPCRASH  has stopped the program.
The fault module name is libcef.dll.
    Help please...
    Oliver

    Hi DjOliver,
We found that the crash is not happening in Animate but in a thirdparty component that Animate uses. will need some information from you to investigate:
Can you share the install logs from:
    1) Path for installation log - C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\ - do share the Edge Animate CC 2014 specific logs.
    2) Installer logs from - C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Temp\amt3.log and PDApp <Date>.log
    Also check
    1) Can you install DirectX from:http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8109 (or web installer http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35).
    2) Restart your PC and then launch Animate. Check if you still see the crash.

  • Edge Animate keeps crashing and cannot find solution

    Hello all,
Edge Animate is really slow for me and keeps crashing.  I viewed the following thread:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1237275
but it hasn't solved the problem for me.  is there any more recent work arounds/solutions or what should I do?  I'm running Windows 8.1, also i'm running Microsoft small business server, i'm not sure if this makes a difference.
hope someone can help, look forward to your reply!
    Tom

    Hi Sudeshna,
Unfortunately I can't upload the log here for some reason so I have had to upload it here:

...apologies for the vastness of it, hopefully you can glean something from it
    Many thanks

  • Adding a JS script to the Library from disk causes Edge Animate to crash

    Hi
I am experiencing a major problem with Edge Animate. I need to add a JS script to the Library from disk, but every-time I try to do this from the Library panel, the program crashes immediately.
I did wonder if this was due to Finder, but I have tried the same operation from the Library panel to add video, audio etc and the Finder window opens and allows me to select a file without any issues.
This is the system I am using
Is there a way I can upload the crash report or attach it to a comment?
    Thanks
    Marco

I have managed to fix this after googling the crash error and reading through some other posts.
It appears that SCFinderPlugin was causing the issue. Other applications install it to the OSX without users realising - I don't recall ever installing it
In order to remove this plugin you need to remove these files:
    /Library/Contextual Menu Items/SCFinderPlugin.plugin
    /Library/Receipts/SCPlugin.pkg
Hope this helps someone else at some point in the future.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop install crashes Windows Explorer and hangs

This all started with my inability to activate Adobe Acrobat on my computer after wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the OS.
I had no trouble initially downloading or installing anything from the Adobe Creative Cloud. I ran several apps and they worked (albeit in trial mode for a day or two)
And then the Initial Problem: Trying to Activate Adobe Acrobat failed to get pass the sign-in screen.
It would hang for about 30 minutes and then come back to the error that the computer's clock must be incorrect or an error with the Internet connection. (It's a standard error documented on Adobe's site that says you need to make sure your computer can really get to all of Adobe's activation servers/sites/etc. I double-checked everything in the troubleshooting list to be sure but found nothing wrong with the computer or the ability to get to Adobe's sites.
Exasperated. I went online for tech support. It was definately Level 1 support (had me checking all the stuff I had already spent an hour checking - and had already told him I tested it all).
Anyway, I spent an hour on the chat with Adobe Tech Support going through the usual stuff.
He had me check virus programs, computer clock, conenctions to Adobe sites (like the licensing servers). But nothing ever helped or worked. Then he told me to try going directly to the Adobe Creative Cloud site and trying to download and install the Creative Cloud desktop manager. I did that but it hangs when it launches the manager on the initial window with a black/grey Creative Cloud bar at the top (with the tool drop-down on the right side) but the rest of the window never loads.
After an hour of going in circles I decided it would be better to try again later with someone in second-level support.
In the meantime, I uninstalled ALL Adobe applications. There is no Flash-Player, no Acrobat Reader - nothing from Adobe in my programs list.
I then tried to download and install the Adobe Application Manager. It works up to the point where it launches the Creative Cloud Desktop tools and then hangs at the same place.
There is a Creative Cloud window with the normal black/grey bar at the top - but the rest of the window (where you would normally see and load the apps from) stays empty.
I have rebooted the computer several times to be sure it is a fresh start. That has not helped at all. One additional thing I have noticed in these multiple attempts is that when the Creative Cloud Desktop Manager installer gets about 95% done, it causes Windows Explorer to crash (not Internet Explorer but Windows Explorer). Once Windows Explorer resets, Creative Cloud continues the installation but then opens the window (above) that has nothing but the black/grey header.
I'm struggling for what to do next. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Right now I am paying $50 a month for something I can't even install or use.
For what it's worth, the system is an HP laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. 8GB of RAM and plenty of HDD space. All security updates applied and Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1. I doubt that any of that last line is relevant since I could run all of this with no problem before wiping the hard drive AND it was all running with no problem - other than Activating Acrobat at the start of this whole issue.

    Jim,
You are a lifesaver! I can't think of how many additional hours of frustration you just saved me - but Thank You!!
After posting, I had determined (like you said), that Explorer must be doing that for a reason. I created a new user profile on the system (added a user temporarily) and observed the same behavior of Windows Explorer (stopping/starting) but then continuing to work as it should. At that point I knew the answer was somewhere in the user's profile but I would have had no idea where to look. The opm.db file was indeed the culprit.
I sure do appreciate the excellent help.

  • Unable to update to Edge Animate 2014.1.1

I am unable to update to the latest version of Edge Animate. I've tried using the cleaner tool, uninstalling then re-installing, signing out then in again, re-installing creative cloud, updating via the 'Upgrade Now' button in EA and more. Can Adobe staff please provide another means of updating to the latest version? I do note that Creative Cloud seems insistent that it is version 1.8.1.451 even though I've also re-installed CC several times in a number of ways.

The latest is Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud app for desktop | Release Notes Version 1.8.0.447 released on October 6, 2014
Try uninstalling the current Desktop app through your OS uninstall methods.
Restart machine, then re-download the Desktop app here: Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud for desktop

  • IPhone .mov videos crash windows explorer

I use OneDrive on my iPhone 5s to back up my photos and videos. When I try to view the videos on my Dell XPS Windows 8.1 machine, I run into trouble.
When I use Windows Live Photo Gallery, it crashes whenever I try to view one of the videos. If I open the camera roll folder in windows explorer it crashes when creating the thumbnails. I also tried using the modern UI photo viewer. It crashes as well when
opening the thumbnails. I tried using VLC. It does not play them either. There seems to be quite a few other people experiencing this issue.
