EDGE ANIMATE: MAC files to WINDOWS

how to open source files of the exemplars websites created using edge animate in windows? since they are probably mac!
when i unzip the files, it says that the file already exist for some folders, like images etc amd at the end load only two files named
__MACOSX and
978-1-4302-4350_SourceCode_ch01
When i try to load it directly from edge animate, nothing displays, for the zipped folder as well as for the unzipeed one.

As a test, can you download this simple project file, unzip it and double-click the .an file? Let me know what happens?
Are you using the latest version of Edge Animate? What does it say on the splash screen when you first launch it?
Another way to open a project is to simply open Edge Animate; go to File > Open and browse to the source .html or .an file to open it. Have you tried this method with any of the sample files you noted above?
Another scenerio may be related to Windows User Accounts? Are you an administration for the two machines you mention? You may not have administrative rights to run the associative files. One option is to Right-Click on a .an project file, and from the contextual menu list there should be an option to Run as Adminsitrator? Try this option.
Last resort - uninstall from machine and reinstall from your free Adobe Creative Cloud.

Hi,
There is a bug on iOS7 which does not let edge animate work correctly here. This issue will happen on iPad and not on Mac OS.

Backup with cloning software your HD to have an exact copy of it as it is.
Use this methodology to recover your partition.

lorsque que je publie mon animation, que je la pose sur mon serveur distant et que je visualise mon html dans mon navigateur sur internet. l'animation se multiplie à droite dans l'espace restant, idem , lorsque je le teste en interne de Edge
comment éviter cela ?

merci beaucoup pour votre réponse en faite je viens de m'apercevoir que c'était mon modèle de mise en page que j'avais laissé à coté.
Autrement si vous connaissez bien, j'ai un problème différent.:
j'ai fait un cycle de plusieurs images avec des reflet différents (png) que je fait apparaître et disparaitre.
Lorsque que je les groupe et que les joue ils bougent légèrement (il ne reste pas à leur place).
J'aurais aimé en faire un symbole pour le jouer en boucle.
Du je suis obligée de les dupliquer plusieurs fois.

Edge Animate JS files

Is it possible to place edge animate js files in one folder when same html file is in different folder.

There are 3 files that are automatically generated by Edge. One in inside "edge_includes" folder, and other two(_edge.js & _edgeAction.js) are kept along with .html file.
My last comment assumes that you will place the two(_edge.js & _edgeAction.js) files in jsFolder. But this will end up using two folders for edge created js files, one being "edge_includes" and other "jsFolder".
But if you want to put all in one folder, then put the two files(_edge.js & _edgeAction.js) in the folder "edge_include" so that all 3 edge files are in one folder, and then simply follow my last comment and replace "jsFolder" with "edge_include".

One edge animate oam file with sound no work in muse, I need urgent help please

A sound file oam place it in adobe muse does not work, how can I do. In works right edge Animate and when I preview in the browser looks perfect and 100% working well but when I step by Muse does not work. When I pass the file to Muse, you can see placed in the page design, but when I preview I do not see anything in the file that I placed. When I tried it without sound if it worked but after you add sound and replaced it with the new file (delete the old file and place the new) no lifts. I implementación.oam public with package, and then drag the file created page design muse.

Try unplugging the AC adapter, removing the battery, then holding the power button down for a minimum of 30 seconds. Then plug the AC back in and try to power it up. If it does, good. The BIos File from Toshiba provides instructions inside the Archive once you decompress it on creating a Bios Flash CD (and you can use a ReWritable CD-RW so you don't waste a disk) that should be used.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Problem with Edge Animate oam file's autoplaying inside Muse

Hi,
I have created a Donut Chart animation in Edge Animate. It has 6 donut charts. Each chart is a symbol with animation inside. Everything looks good in edge animate. But, the problem is the .oam file is not working like I want inside Muse. The scroll effect function of is not working. It autoplays every time, regardless of the scroll settings applied. I am using Edge Animate 2014.1.1 and Muse 2014.3.1. So, it's kind of the latest versions.
I tried several different methods. I found out that the animation works fine in Muse if I don't use any symbol in Edge Animate. Then the scroll function works like a charm. But if I use symbols, then the scroll function stops working. I want to use symbols for a reason. Because, I am making the website as a template to sell and want to include Edge Animate animations in it. Without using the symbols, it will create several objects in one place. And it would be too hard for people, with less knowledge of the program, to edit them.
What should I do now? Please help!

Please double click on the symbol and make sure "autoplay " is unchecked in the stage properties. then republish the OAM file and then try.
If the issue still persist please share the compressed project file with us to take a look at it.

Mac File Site window always on top

I am using Dreamweaver 8.0, but have seen this exact same
issue on a Windows CS3 install and a Mac CS3 install.
I like to have the Files Window detached from the right side,
and expanded so I can see the Remote Site and Local Files lists
side by side. When I open an html file, I expect the html file to
open on top of the file list window. It works this way on some
installs, but not on others, very annoying. In the problem
installs, I must manually move the file (site) window way down to
the right to expose the html file I want to work on. Then when I
want open another html file, I have to drag it file window back up,
to see my file list, double click on the file, and then move the
file list back out of the way.
In other words, in the problem setups, the File Window is
"always on top", so it must be a preference or setting, but I
cannot figure out.
Please help me fix this annoying problem.

I'm having the exact same problem in DW CS5 now. Did you find a solution? Hitting fn+F8 isn't going to work on my iMac extended keyboard. F8 is the iTunes play pause button. Besides, having to command-tab to an app THEN hit fn+F8 just isn't going to work obviously.
I can't believe in 2010 this is broken.
Please do let me know if you found a way around it. I tried all the different layout prefabs in CS5, and without exception they all do it.

Are Edge Animates .OAM files that span 100% left to right with Adobe Muse even possible?

I can make an interactive banner like this: www.nbc.com , I can design websites in Adobe Muse, yet how do I combine the two? I can combine them but not with 100% browser width on both sides of the .OAM file published by Edge Animate? All I want is my .oam file to span from left to right of any sized browser without gap... HELP PLEASE! Is this possible with Adobe Muse & .OAM files?

Edge Animate .oam files taking a long time to load or not loading at all?

Is there a way to correct this? I have exported this Muse Site and uploaded into my server and the same thing is happening: http://pierosalardi.com/animate/ Its taking to much time to load the .oam files and sometimes they do not load at all.
This is a screen shot after reseting Safari and going to the site. If you see, there is no logo on the up right hand corner, or the icons at the bottom of the page
This is another screenshot after reloading the site. Some how all the .oam files came together but only after reloading the site.
Is there a way to correct this? I saw in another post that needed to replace the iFrame on the Muse html file and replace it with the html code generated by Edge.

Love your site! I'm not seeing the loading issue, but I'm also on a fast connection so that might be it.
Took a look at the source - it looks like each button is it's own individual OAM file, which increases your load time due to the extra requests the browser has to make to load everything. Have you tried consolidating the left and right button groups into two Animate projects instead of having a seperate one for each button? This may solve your loading problems.
You can copy and paste between projects inside of Animate so aggregating the buttons into one file should be pretty snappy.

Why can't anyone else see my Edge Animate html files in their browsers?

I create this awesome file with bells and whistles and looks and runs great on mY computer and in mY browsers but when I send a client(s) the HTML file to view in their browser it NEVER works! Do I need to send them all the files? The image folder...the JS files and the HTML? I think I did that once and it still diodn't work...I understand that the browsers all dont play nice and that m os need to be updated on the client end but is there a good way to save the Animate file so that my clients can use the file to place in a website. I am creating small web ads.

Do you have a website? If yes, you can load all your files at the root level and then you can send the link to your clients.
It would go like this:
http://www.yourWebsiteName.com/yourEdgeFolderName
(I would name the edge files index rather than something else because most web server prefer that.)
You could also create an html file with all your samples and iframes to load them. Then you need to put each edge folder at the root of your website.

Can't open FLA mac file on windows

I'm having trouble opening a FLA file (made on a mac
computer) on my windows computer. I use Flash 8 and when I open the
file there's a message saying "unexpected file format". The file
was also made on Flash 8, so I don't think it's a version problem.

The problem is with the document, not the program.You can try to open the file in Preview and print from there. Otherwise, you will need to contact the creator of the document for a new version of the file.

Burning Mac files on Windows pc?

I am trying to backup some important files on my Mac to a DVD. Sadly, my Mac doesn't have a superdrive so I have to put the files on my windows pc. I tried to burn the files to a DVD but there is always an error. Using Nero burning software, it will freeze before all files are copied. Windows Explorer says there is an error copying files when I try to copy them to a writable cd folder. Any suggestions?

I am assuming that Nero can burn a similar selection of files from the Windows PC without error?
If you haven't tried that, and you do try and get an error, it's probably a media error (a problem with the disks you are using).
Check the filenames of the files you are trying to burn only include letters and numbers and contain NO punctuation, truncate really long file names.

Then I called the Apple Express case # 232117496 and spent 1-hour on the phone with the tech who could not solve the problem. He finally said it was something to do with my Windows network setting indicating that it probably had a stealth password set. I did not agree and was finally able to get help from About.com.
