Edge Animation plays only after page refresh in Firefox

There is an issue with animation playback in Firefox (I have the newest version - 27.0) - it works only after page reload or if you go to another page and come back to the home page.
I've saved Edge animation as .oam package and placed into Muse. My animation is floating clouds right above roof on homepage.
When I open html generated by Edge Animate in Firefox it works perfectly at once.
Please help!

Same FF version here, your page loads fine here, upon first visit and subsequent visits.
Have you tried clearing out browser cache; restart FF then reload/revisit your page.

BEx Web iView displays graph only after page Refresh

Dear Friends,
I am facing problem in BEx Web application iView.
I am using the SAP Standard BEx Web iView template to call BI Report by passing parameter as below

Problem is the graphs displays data representation only after refreshing the page.
Infact the problem exists in production system and works fine in Development system.
When I checked from portal prospective I found no difference.
Can anybody help on this.

hi,
find the iview from the content administration menu in portal.
If you are using a standard role open the role
and trace the pages until you find the iview containing the template.
Open the iview and check the parameter Content-BW report.
At the field BEx Web Application Query String go to and and check the template name.
Go to web application designer and open the above template.
Change the parameters from the post above and save the web template as zXXXXX.
Change the web template at iview as well.
What i figured out is that bex handler has a problem creating an array when you are using same session for more than one charts.
When you use seperate sessions for each chart there is no need for array creation and works just fine.
*If you are using best practices go to Content Provided by SAP->Specialist->Best Practices and find the role and iview you are using.
It should work..

How to retain value in LoV item in Tabular Form, after Page Refresh

Hi,
I have a tabular form, which contains 2 items(columns), of type "Select List - named LoV".
Now, 2nd item(column) in tabular form, that LoV should get populated based on user's selection value in first item LoV.
1. So how do I refer to the value, that user selected in first item's LoV? I will have to use this value as reference in LoV query of my 2nd item ( on this tabular form)
2. Everytime I select value in first item LoV, page gets refreshed, as my requirement is to calculate 2nd item's LoV based on selected value in first item. So after this page refresh, first item LoV loses its value that was selected before the page refresh happened. So how do i retain this value in first item LoV? I have an unconditional process, that on every submit(refresh) of page, I set all my items with their corresponding values. But problem is what do i mention there to refer to this first item ( of type LoV) of tabular form?
I looked in view source of my page, this item is referred as f03.
So i used "apex_application.g_f03", to set this item to its value, in my uncoditional submit process. But it did not work. I tried to refer this item as "f03" in this unconditional submit process. But still it did not help, the selected item loses its value after page refresh(submit).
Please help.

Hi Rave,
You will have to use Javascript and Ajax to change the values as ApEx submissions will lose your results unless they are saved into the database.
Remember, that as you are using a tabular form there will be lots of items called f01, fo2, fo3 etc on the page (one per row).

Mutiple edge animations on an index page

Hey there community
It feels like I have searched google dry, and I can't find the answers to my problems there, so I'm hoping this will help.
I'm creating a site in Dreamweaver with a lot of interactivity, mostly by edge animate. I have many animations on the index page of the site, and some fewer on other pages.
The problem is, every single edge animation is generating an edge_include folder for the files to work, when i insert the oam file.
The first loading time for a user is immense, around 10 sec.... Is there any solutions to remove those similar server request and make them all request from 1 folder with the edge.min and jquery.min file?

Many thx!!! I Will try the folder option. Do I have to open the edgepreload in a text edit program to change some urls? Or Can i just put every script in an edge folder with an image and include folder in that ?:):)

Hi, hope I can help you. I´m finishing an interactive book with games and I use 3 project with different scenes on them. So you can try something like my trick. You can use "symbols" to make all your different animations on a single "Edge project" or if you wanna use your actual projects put all your images on a single "image folder" and use one "edge includes folder".
I have 3 projects on the root folder but just one image folder and one edge includes, each project have their own preload and the time loading is fast on web an mobile device.

Stopping Edge animation play after page visit.

I have an Edge animation as a banner on my homepage. I was wondering how, if for example someone landed on my homepage the animation plays out, then navigates to my portfolio page, then back to the homepage, the animation would not play again. I think I'm trying to go the more is less route, also I think it will increase overall page loading speed, than trying to replay the animation everytime you return to my homepage. I hope this made sense. Thanks.

Hi there, the first thing that comes to mind is to use session storage. Set a variable "isFirstTime", and check it on Stage.compositionReady in Edge. You can then jump to the end of your timeline, effectively skipping the animation. Alternately, you could set and check session storage outside of Edge, and swap out the div's contents to either contain Edge content, or a static image, etc.

Session storage stores data until the user closes the browser, so they would see the animation again if they closed the browser and visited your site they next day, but they wouldn't see it again on the same visit.

DPS and Edge - animation plays before page loads

Hi-
I have had a continuing challenge with animations created in Edge and placed into an Adobe DPS document. Short animations that are intended to play when the viewer gets to the page (onload) are already finished playing when the page is viewed. Other CSS3 and jquery based animations load as expected only when the page is navigated to and "in view".
I was excited for the latest Edge release and CS6 hoping that this issue had been resolved, but it is still happening for me.
Has this been resolved? Using an event handler or not checking "Autoplay" and requiring user interaction to initiate the animation are not the effect I want.
Did you find a resolution to this?

I don't recall mentioning onLoad, but since you mention it...
Edge triggers auto-play animations off the onLoad event right now. In DPS publications the correct event to trigger on is onAppear. We're working with the Edge team to make sure that when you publish for DPS the auto-play animations look for the right event.

EDGE animation plays before I come to the page in an Article

Hello,
I have created an EDGE animation, and, it plays before I get to the page in an Article.
I have created other animations and placed them into articles and other folios, but, on this, it does not play correctly. I would like it to play upon entering the page or going to the page. but, when I enter the page it has already palyed. Might you have some hints or answers?

Need to set a delay on it with Folio Overlays panel I believe, little tricky if
its in a smooth scrolling page as that maybe loaded in one go, even
though it should tile.

Make a Flash animation play only when it scrolls into view

I am designing a very long page. There will be a flash animation at the bottom of the page. I want this animation to play only when the user scrolls down and this flash object comes into view. How do I do this? I am quite familiar with flash and actionscript, so I just need some pointers.
I have seen that this is already being used for advertisements. If you visit www.amazon.com, there are ads that appear far below on the page. These ads play only when you scroll down and the ad appears within the browser window. This happens on many other sites as well.
Many popular sites also use something like this. On CNN, try opening a new tab that loads a flash video. The video begins to play only when you actually go to that tab. Until you open the tab and the contents become visible in your browser window, the video doesn't start. How is this done?

Hmmm ... It looks like Amazon doesn't always run ads. I will give another example.
Take a look at http://digg.com/
There is a 300x250 ad at the top of the right-column. Ignore that.
In addition, there is a second 300x250 ad halfway down the page in the right column.
This second 300x250 ad appears when you scroll down.
The interesting thing is that the ad plays from the beginning when you first see it after scrolling down!
Most flash ads run for 15 seconds. After that the animation stops. When you see this second 300x250 ad, you will find it at the beginning of its 15 second animation. It plays from the beginning even if you wait for some time before scrolling down. This means that the ad is waiting for you to scroll down before it begins to play.
How is this done?

Why won't my Edge animation play in DPS?

I've created a very simple animation of svg elements fading from 0-100% opacity (no code) in Adobe Edge. When I import it into folio (set for for iPad) the animation would not play. When I preview it on desktop, I would only see the poster image and then quickly fade to white. From what I've read in one of the other forums, I have the Edge animation set up for retina (2048x1536), and then in InDesign: 1024, in folio: 2048; however, still no luck. I published the animation for Animate Deployment Package (oam), really can't think of anything else that might have gone wrong...

Thank you so much for for your help, I was able to download the zip file. As it turns out I wasn't using the latest edge animate and indesign. After updating everything, as well as downloading the DPS destop tool kit http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5571 I tried to open the file you sent me. I got the error message: An error has occured while generating article preview. Could not find the adobe content viewer. So I tried to download the content viewer again but still, same message. I really can't figure out why...

How can I allow a user to control my Edge Animation using only the scrollbar?

I have seen a few examples of an Edge Animation being conrolled by the scrollbar, and I am wondering how I could achieve the same effect.

I have searched the corners of the internet and have found 2 or 3 different tutorials, but none of them have proven successful.
In basic terms, I am creating an animation that involves a character getting from Point A to Point B, from the beginning of my timeline to the end.
Rather than exporting my animation so that it plays automatically, by itself, I would like for a user to scroll vertically, and the playing of the animation moves in conjunction with the scroll bar.
As the user scrolls from top to bottom on the scrollbar, the character in my animation moves from Point A to Point B.
Also, if the user stops scrolling... the character will stop moving as well.
In addition, I would like the surrounding area, outside of my stage, to remain hidden. I do not want to allow the user the ability to scroll around and see off of my designated stage area. I only want the scroll bar to act as a playhead for the animation.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Never mind. I figured it out myself. I changed the myComp.play("scenefour"); to myComp.getStage().play("scenefour"); and it worked fine.

Why won't my adobe edge animations play from the start each time they are loaded on an Adobe DPS layout?

I have an adobe DPS document with several pages, and edge animations on each page. I want each animation to play from the start when each page is opened, however, the playback seems to be very inconsistent. Some animations play from the start, others half way through, and some playback incorrectly. I want to also be able to return to each page and have the animations reload, instead of just displaying the final frame of the animation.
I have played around with the delay time which doesnt seem to fix it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Insert subform only after page 1

Hello, working on my first LiveCycle form. I would like to insert a subform (subform1) at the top of every page. And insert subform2 only on page 1, after subform1. Is there someway to hide subform2 if the page is not equal to 1? Thanks.

Thanks. You are correct. I did end up creating a second master page. The first one I titled as FIRST was a max occur of 1. Then the second master page titled NEXT which will be used for the rest of the pages, starting with page 2. Both master pages have 2 content areas. The second having a bit smaller size at the top of the page. I did end up putting text fields, binded to some of the same header fields, in both of the "top" content areas. This helped me achieve the results I was looking for. Thanks.

Help with retaining drop down data after page refresh

Hello:
Dev environment: JSP/Struts - Using DynaValidatorActionForm for ActionForm
I have a JSP which, in a simplified version, uses two text boxes and one drop down viz. Name(text box), Country(drop down) and Country Name(text box).
When the page is first brought up, obviously, the text boxes are empty and the drop down is at it's initial setting of "Select One" which has a value of 0.
I enter a name, select "Other" from the drop down and click on Submit leaving the "Country Name" text box blank.
Now, because of the validation I'm performing, if "Other" is selected, the name of the country should also be provided. In this case, obviously the validation fails and the same page is returned via "mapping.getInput()".
Now the problem is, whatever I put in for "Name" is still retained but the drop down is reset to "Select One". This is causing confusion to the user because the error msg is misleading when it says, "Enter a country name", but in reality the user has to redo the drop down selection also.
Anyway, is there a way I can make the drop down also retain the data it had prior to the page refresh just like the "Name" text box?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you populating that select box( from database) everytime page refreshes ?
otherwise it should work as others.
as a work around, here is a javascript code you can use to prepopulate a option in a select box, but you need to know what value was selected. ( may be set that value in request or session)
call this function on load of the form.

Image not printed in SapScript, only after page break

Hi,
I have a problem in printing an image (stored as text) in a sapscript. The image was uploaded correctly from a TIF file in tcode SE78. The image contains a signature and I need to print it at variable positions within the form. That is I need to print it in the MAIN window. The image does not get printed when a page break occurs when outputing the text element containing the picture. If the page break occurs when outputing any (other) text, the image is printed correctly (after that text).
Has anybody else encountered this problem? Could it be a sapscript bug?

Using flash shared object to have a load animation play only once

Hey all I have a swf on multiple pages, I onyl want it to
play the load animation once, so I thought I would try the shared
object to do this.
