Edge Fonts in CS6 12.2

According to this help article, http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/typekit-font-support.html   when I insert an Adobe Edge Font into my external CSS file, DW should prompt me to update HTML pages with the required script.  But so far nothing's happening.
What am I missing?
Nancy O.

OK.  Problem solved.  I needed to manually insert the following script into my HTML doc's <head> tag.
<script src="http://webfonts.creativecloud.com/abel:n4:default.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
Then DW ammended the script with the font of my choice & updated other pages as expected.

  • Typekit vs Edge Fonts -- which is better? Best practices?

I'm not sure I understand the difference between the Edge Web fonts and having a Typekit. In this case I'm using Source Sans Pro, which is available under both.
In my first attempt at generating a Reflow project, I had the text in Photoshop set in Source Sans Pro, with a copy of the font active on my Mac (via FontXplorer). When I did my first 'Generate' test the text came through without the font, just a 'Browser Default.' But I do believe that Source Sans was available as a choice in the Syling tab.
For my second attempt, I deactivated the local font and instead turned it on in my Typekit* under Creative Cloud, and reopend the Photoshop doc with that version (the layers had to Update, and all was well). This time when I generated the Reflow project, the type came through as Source Sans Pro.
So, which is the best way to use these fonts in Reflow? I do notice that the CSS only says "font: source sans pro", which means I'm still going to have to manually add the specific font codes to my HTML and CSS by hand, correct?
*I saw in a demo video (which I can't find now, otherwise I would link it) where a guy who generated a Reflow project from Photoshop that contained Typekit fonts, that Reflow would ask you to enter the Kit ID in a pop-up window, then re-select your fonts to match what you originally chose in Photoshop. In my second attempt I was using the Typekit version of the font but I was not prompted for the Kit ID like this upon opening the Reflow doc. Has this feature been changed or removed since then? I was able to enter the Kit ID in the 'Custom' tab when I chose 'Manage fonts', but then I had duplicates listed in my font menu until I deactivated the Edge version.
Sorry for the long post -- just wondering which way is best since Edge Fonts and Typekit seem to have redundant functionality!

First there shouldn't be a difference between the two. I think the only suggestion is to try and not use both. You can and it is supported, but results in more http requests because all your selected edge web fonts are loaded in one file and your selected typekit fonts are loaded in another and those can't get combined into one single file.
Also, if you are just syncing your fonts using the Creative Cloud to get them on your desktop but not adding they to a typekit "Kit" and using your kit ID in the dialog, or not seeing the dialog at all, then the Edge Web Fonts were selected for you automatically.
I think the reason Source Sans Pro didn't work the first time Reflow hadn't finished downloading the full font list from the servers. This list is cached locally so the next time you use that font we'd find it in the list and select it for you. If Relow finds matches for all the fonts you used it won't popup the font picker dialog. If that dialog does pop and that list doesn't have your Edge Web Font available you can add it to the list by selecting Manage Fonts from that menu.
Hope that helps and thanks for useing Refow. Let us know how you like the Photoshop import and any other things we can do to improve it.

  • Is Refine Edge better in CS6 than CS5.5 than CS5

Is refine edge better in CS6 than CS5.5 than CS5 - have there been continual improvements
    Thx

The CS5.5 code is no different than CS5.  I can't say from personal experience whether the newest code is better; I've been able to get good results from both.

  • About Typekit, Edge Fonts and Google Fonts real utility for Web Designers

    Hello,
Perhaps it´s a simple situation for the majority of CC User but I´m a little bit confused about that. I have a TypeKit plan included in my Creative Cloud subscription. I have then the possibility of use Web Fonts included in Typeset (which is awesome, by the way). My problem comes when I try to use a TypeKit font for a client who does´t want to pay for a TypeKit plan and I can´t use the same font in the trial plan which is a great way of convince the client he needs TypeKit for a better typography access.
    So, my questions are:
There is available TypeKit fonts in Adobe Edge fonts too?
The only fonts available in Edge Fonts are Google Fonts?
How can I know if a specific TypeKit font is available in TypeKit Trial Plan too without searching the entire catalog filtered by Trial Library or in Adobe Edge?
Do you recommend to me a workflow in which I can use TypeKit fonts for clients avoiding the need to pay the client for that font? (it´s hard to convince him, not to use free alternatives like Google Fonts or Adobe Edge Fonts)
    Thanks in advance.

I haven’t tried it so this may be a shot in the dark but you might be able to hack into the CSS and use @font-face to call a local font.
Check the license of the font to be sure it allows this.

  • Missing Fonts in CS6 since installation

Since I have upgraded to CS6 some of my fonts are missing in Illustrator, PS and ID. The font are still on the system (in the Win Fonts folder) but the programs declare them as missing when I open files that use these font.
What can I do? I tried re-installing the fonts but that didnt help...

Where was the font before? Do you have the font file someplace avaialble? Adobe apps don't remove fonts from the system, and they do need to be installed someplace to be available for use. Although there are quite a few fonts included and installed for you automatically when you install CS products, Caflisch Script is not one of them. http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/fontinstall/cs6installedfonts.html

  • My Refine Edge in Photoshop CS6 has STOPPED WORKING, please help!

    Photoshop CS6
    Windows 8.1
I have been using refine edge with no problem for months.
    everything worked great!
I was able to extract out hair and edges very, very, very well...
but about 2 weeks ago...something changed... the refine edge brush no longer works.
When I click on Refine Edge... instead of a brush icon, I get the CIRCLE with a SLASH and my system keeps dinging because the tool is just not available.
I deleted my preferences...but it is still a problem
NOW... when I adjust the sliders, i don't see a preview of the adjustments...
    Please help!!!!

    no difference.
i have tried to check and uncheck everything...
if i adjust the sliders, i get NO Preview... but when i click OK, the resulting photo has been completely ruined by the tool...
    I tried deleting preferences...no change
the weird thing is that this problem was very sudden.  Just a few weeks ago, I was using refine edge with NO PROBLEM. it is my GO TO tool for extracting people out of pictures...
but then one day, it just stopped working...
Do i need to reinstall CS6???

  • NOTHING will allow me to mouse wheel scroll through fonts in CS6

OMG, I am about to have a coronary trying to find fonts!  I have looked on this forum for an answer that works and cannot find anything thus far.  First, WHY is it necessary for CS6 font list in the Character Pallet to take up 1/2 of my screen?!  Second, do i REALLY have to click the little arrows at the top and bottom of the font list to scroll through fonts, ONE.BY.ONE?  Typing the first letter does not work either, it takes me to say the "D" fonts but when i click the drop down arrow to see my list of "D's", it shows a list from the top, not the D section.  I REALLY hope I am missing something here, because seriously, this is totally unusable.
ETA:  Going to the TYPE>FONT menu at the top does not scroll either and Photoshop CS6 works beautifully...
ETA (again):  i CAN scroll through the menu on the top (under the FILE-EDIT-etc menus), but there is no font preview (and it is selected as med in preferences)

Thank you for the reply.  System is a fairly new Windows 7, 64 bit, plenty of RAM, hard drive space, i5 dual core processor.  To have this issue in Illustrator only and not in Photoshop seems less likely a software conflict (just guessing)?  I attached screen shots.
Character Pallet drop down (mouse wheel, keyboard arrows, typing a letter key...all do nothing)  Only way to navigate is by hitting the little arrows on the top/bottom of the drop down.  And no scroll bar?
Top Menu Drop Down - scrolls, hit a letter key and works, arrow keys work.  Could use this permanently, but there is no font preview..
All of what you said works on your system, is how I would expect it to be programmed.  Partially making sure this is not the way it was designed, and hoping to find a fix for why its not working correctly.
    Main programs installed:
    Firefox
    MS Office 2007
    quickbooks
CS3 Design suite (I JUST upgraded to CS6 and have kept it there for a backup...probably can uninstall now if that could be an issue)
Thank you for any advice and if you would like to upload the video, that would be great.

  • How do I display Hungarian fonts in CS6 Premiere Pro Titler?

How do I display Hungarian fonts in the Premiere Pro CS6 PremierePro Titler ?

    Windows or Mac?
As far as I know for Windows, any "well designed" Truetype font will work in all Windows programs... BUT... not all fonts are well designed, so not all fonts work in all programs

  • Fonts DW CS6 Not WYSIWYG

Windows 7. I have the ttf installed. All regular PC indicators show the font installed properly. Using proper@font-face declarations, no problems with online design.
Can't get the font to wysiwyg in design layout, CS6. All if fine in Live view as well. Just need proper screen viewing in design layout.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Most likely.
I'm guessing it's some combination of having the fonts installed/not installed on your local machine and using @font-face or a standard font-family without the @font-face rule in your css.
If the fonts are installed locally, you should be able to see them in Design View if you used the normal font-family css, without the @font-face. Nobody else would be able to see them though, unless they also had the font installed locally.
Even if done correctly with the @font-face and the necessary .ttf and .eot or .woff files, the user's browser may still not display the fonts correctly...

  • Importing installed fonts into CS6

    Hello everybody,
I have acquired InDesign CS6 for a couple of my users and have installed our firm’s standard Marketing font (various weights of HelveticaNeueLTStd) on their PCs and added the font files to the InDesign folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS6\Fonts, installed from there as well, however the fonts do not seem to import into InDesign when it is run.
I have followed all direction I have found online without any success.
Is this something someone has seen before and if so, how did you resolve it?
Would be most grateful for any help/direction at all.
    Thank you.
    Henry

    Hi P Spier,
All of that basic stuff done, however I did not delete the .lst file.
Once that was done and the PC was restarted, my new fonts now appear in InDesign.
    Guess you are Mr FixIt!!!
    Most grateful for your solution.

  • Missing Fonts from CS6 - Namely Myriad

I have many templates for my work with typeset in Myriad, not MyriadPro. When I run CS6, everything works fine. Then I run the same file in CC and I get a missing font message from TypeKit and my font is gone. See attached screenshots. • Adobe type manager (installing ps. fonts in CS6)

Hi i have problem to install the adobe type manager light on my windows 7(64) and adobe CS6. How i can manage fonts in the CS6? Further i have had on my CS2 the ATM Light and it have run perfect. But now, i am lost. Please Help, when you can.THanks. Ivan

"Nobody uses PS fonts anymore, anyway. They're nothing but trouble..."
    Nonsense.
One of our clients is an international car manufacturer and their corporate font, which we must use, is only available as a Postscript font from their Ad Agency (another International Company).
Postscript fonts are alive and well and are no more trouble than any other format on our company Macs.

  • Refine Edge in Photoshop CS6 superior to Fluid Mask 3?

I have been using Fluid Mask 3 since Photoshop CS3.
But, recently, looking at a tutorial at a retouch DVD I bought, it seems that the CS6 version of Refine Edge is superior to Fluid Mask.
It seems to have a far more advanced algorithm, and the fact you can work in layer mode with actually seeing what you are masking off in real view, it seems to me it's time to ditch Fluid Mask 3.
    What's your take on this?

  • Using free Edge fonts in Adobe Muse

Hi, my question concerns the use of free Edge Web fonts in Adobe Muse.
I'm Creative Cloud subsciber and have access to the portfolio plan, but I want to be sure that my customers websites will work in case I'll need to quit my subsciption.
Therefore I wanted to ask if the fonts currently shown in the Webfonts panel can be filtered to use just free Edge Webfonts, so that the fonts on my customer's websites won't have a problem once I should quit the subscription.
    Thanks!
    Tibor

The Typekit fonts that you CAN use through Muse are free as part of your Muse subscription, and it shouldn't make any difference if you let your Muse subscription cease...those fonts on the site will still be rendered to viewers.
So, basically - Muse Tyepkit fonts are free to use and will remain free to view even after your subsciption lapses.
