Edirectory settings for SMG authenticaion
Hi,
We have installed Symantec Messaging Gateway v10. In order to receive Daily Qurantine report of Spam message for users, we must configure AD integration. We want to configure the directory integration with our Novell Groupwise server but somehow it is not working.
We have Novell Netware 6.5 with Groupwise 7 installed. The servers are clustered (2 nodes). We also have single netware server as certificate and backup server.
We have tried many different settings to setup Directory Integration with the Novell Groupwise email server. The LDAP server test login is successfull. While doing the Authentication test login query, it gives us error.
Some errors the we get are as follows (with the required fields are also defined):
ERROR 1 #################################################
"The user name you have provided is shared by multiple directory entries. DDS error code: 800501 Additional information: User name drivesafely is not unique. The following entries share the same user name: [result set too large, server returned no entries]"
The settings when we get above error are as follows:
Base DN: Customize...
Custom base DN: o=company
Query filter: (objectClass=user)
Primary email attribute: emailid
ERROR 2 #################################################
"The LDAP server returned a success status for the authentication query.
Failed to authenticate the user with the test credentials provided.
Incorrect user name or password."
The setting when we get above error are as follows (with the required fields are also defined):
Base DN: Customize...
Custom base DN: o=company
Query filter: (objectClass=uid)
Primary email attribute: emailid
I think the query needs to be refined. Can someone guide on the above issue ?

makes no sense, because it seems to be telling you that it's finding
multiple objects with the search filter you provided.
You might be able to figure out what this thing is doing from the server
side of things. Find the LDAP Server object for this server and enable
all of the trace options except for "packet dump". Then use (n)dstrace (-
all +time +tags +ldap) to see what this application is doing.
Other than that, you'll have to ask whoever is responsible for this "SMG"
thing what their application is supposed to be doing and how to configure
it properly.

Hello All...
Back after a brief absence, things look a little bit different.
I'm trying to take a 16 minute mini dv video and compress it for use on the web. I'm interested in any suggestions you may have on settings for the video and audio tracks. I've tried using Sorenson 3 (15 frames, key frames set to automatic, 320 x 240) for video and IMA 4:1 (mono) for audio. The resulting video looked great but the file size came in at about 255 Mb.

I have been unplugging my motu audio interface and then using headphones at work. I have not changed any detailed audio output settings in logic. When I read that the jack might be a problem I tried switching headphones. This actually helped. I am using dre-beats headphones and they seem to be having issues with the mac/jack-(the phasing/panning problems. I can use these headphones with other devices but not the mac. I have to use ipod ear buds and the phasing seems fixed. Hopefully this information is helpful to someone else.
If anyone knows how to correct this issue please let me know its difficult to know what my final mixes are going to sound like and I have had to keep bouncing everything into i-tunes- sync to ipod and then listen in my car radio. -

I can send but cannot recieve email
This is the messege I am gewtting:
There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “MobileMe” or try again.
The server returned the error: Mail was unable to log in to the IMAP server “p02-imap.mail.me.com” using “Password” authentication. Verify that your account settings are correct.
The server returned the error: Service temporarily unavailableAlso if I go to system preferences accounts and re-enter the password it fixes the glitch sometimes.

ITunes looses photo sync settings for Apple TV (1st gen.)
Since the update to the new Photo app on my Mac, iTunes forgets the photo sync settings for my Apple TV (1st. generation, 160 GB HDD).
Every time I open the photo section of the Apple TV sync settings, all the options are turned off. Then I mark a couple of albums and sync the Apple TV >> all album appear on the Apple TV.
But after closing and re-opening iTunes in the photo settings everything is unmarked again. So on every following sync the photos on the Apple TV are easily erased :-( Resync them to the Apple TV takes hours (>30'000 photos!).
All the other sync settings in iTunes remain intact.
Environment:
- MacBook Pro Retina 15" with the latest SW (Mac OS, iTunes, Photo App, etc.)
- Apple TV 1st gen 160 GB HDDRestarting iTunes resolves the issue in the majority of cases, if it doesn't my second guess would be your security software.
What really seems strange here is that there have been no updates since well before Xmas, so after initially setting it up, the first update would have brought you right up to the most recent (and indeed the very last) .
Agh, how silly of me, I see it's iTunes you have updated.
If that's about all you've changed, you might want to try reinstalling iTunes and bonjour.

Different rich text/plain text settings for different accounts?
I use Mail for both my work email (MS Exchange) and my personal email (webmail/IMAP). Many of my coworkers use Outlook's rich text formatting options, so I need to have my work emails go out as rich text. However I'd like to have my personal emails go out as plain text.
I can set Mail to create new messages in plain text, but to reply in the same format of the original message. That takes care of everything EXCEPT when I compose a new message using my work address... in that case it goes out as plain text, and my coworkers complain that they can't use formatting, because their copies of Outlook are in turn configured to reply in the same format as the original message.
So ideally what I'd like is to have two different formatting settings for my two different accounts. Anyone know how this might be done? Any plugins, etc., that might accomplish this?Since you are running Jaguar, Jaguar and Panther Mail do not support composing in HTML and this includes when forwarding a message received that was composed in HTML.
Since Jaguar and Panther Mail do not support composing or forwarding HTML, you can't embed images or photos in the message body anyway.
RTF with Tiger Mail is really HTML and although Tiger Mail does not include an HTML composer/editor, you can copy/paste HTML format from a web page and forward HTML received.
Images/photos and single page PDF attachments are revealed as inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default which cannot be turned off. This applies to received and sent messages which is not the same as being embedded. Embedded requires HTML and an embedded attachment is not a true attachment. All Mail.app versions render HTML received but you cannot attach a photo or image as embedded with Jaguar or Panther Mail so it doesn't matter if you use RTF or Plain Text in regards to photo/image or single page PDF attachments which appear as inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default regardless.
When you use Plain Text for message composition, the receiving mail client renders the text in whatever font the reader chooses.
IMO, everyone should use Plain Text for message composition. Messages would be boring to some but the majority if not all problems experienced with email would be eliminated if HTML was banned from message composition. -
I just got my iPad, I have an iPod. When I go to put apps on my new ipad it says my apple ID Is disabled. I have reset the passwords. Somehow I have two id's? I've gone into settings for apps signed out and back in with the new p.w. I can't think of what else to do to get the disabled block off. Any ideas?? Thanks

I have had a problem with my iphone 4s for some time now but I have just been so busy to try and fix it. When I try to disable cellular data in the settings for my apps it will toggle fine, but once I exit and go back in to the cellular settings its back on again all by itself. However, even though it says the data is on, I can’t use the data when I don’t have wifi. I tried restoring my phone a few times and the last time I did that, it wouldn’t turn my service on so I had to talk with a Verizon agent for a long time trying to fix it and finally they simply sent me another phone. I thought hey new phone, this part will be fixed. However, I got my service to work but it’s still the same problem with the cellular data. I have just left it alone and not worried about it, but it’s still not fixed and thought I could ask on here if anyone had any ideas. It has something to do with the apps actually installed on the iphone. Apps like the mail, safari, settings, itunes apps, etc. All my other apps turn on and off just fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

I created a web application and configured rbs storage ,
I uploaded documents (for ex: 18 number)
after uploaded documents , and observed the RBS storage folder, number of files are increasing (39 number) , its working fine
and also I run the querys to check the rows increasing or not , (when I upload new doc rows are increased its fine also)

but when I delete some docs from document library ,
1)the doc itself deleted from document library
2)when I check the rbs storage there is no number of files are decreased(its still 39 files ), its same as before doc deleted from doc library
after some time I found the number of files are decreasing from RBS storage folder in sql server,
here I want to know the how the files are decreasing from RBS storage after some time, where shld I check the settings for this? and how I control on it
here how I know the settings for cleaning up orphan BLBOS how these deleted BLOB
adil1. WHen you delete the file from Sharepoint, it is still present in Recycle bin. This is a default setting in sharepoint for 30 days. Once files are deleted fro Recycle bin, it can also be delete from RBS

How to change default settings for a video generator?
I'm using a video generator (Lyric Media's Pan Zoom Pro) many times in the same project, and have to change the default settings for each new instance of the generator that I create. I'm wondering if there's any way to change the default settings for a generator (i.e., length of clip, individual slider and checkbox settings in the "controls" tab) so that each new instance automatically has my customized settings when I first open it.
Thanks.That works for the all the controls/filter settings. The clip length still defaults to 10 seconds, but that's OK, since the main thing I was looking for was to change the clip's internal settings. Thanks for your help

I just traded in my iPhone 4S for Samsung Galaxy 4S, still have iPad. Some of my iPhone contacts are unable to send me a txt that I can receive. But NOT all of my iPhone contacts. I have had them change their settings for my ph number to NOT say iPhone. Txt msg is disabled on iPad. I have no idea what to do. I called the support line that I Pay $9.99 a month for. They told me to delete my iTunes account. Will I lose all my pics on my ipad? I have no music download. I'm getting ****** at this whole thing. And it allllllll started with apples update to the ios7.... I HATED IT. Help.
What your iPhone using friends label your phone number in their contacts is irrelevant. I don't know who you pay $9.99 a month to but it's not Apple. You can't disable text messaging on your iPad as it is not capable of SMS.
Do you still have the iPhone? If so, log out of iMessage on the iPhone.

Questions on cache and general RSRT settings for plancube

we would like to:
1) set request status 1 in RSRT for our planqueries, in order to automatically refresh the query after executing a planfunction (problem we have now is that the results of a planfunction are not automatically updated in the query. Only when doing something else like executing other function, saving, check locks, ... the results are visible).
2) activate delta cache for our planqueries
we have read OSS note 1136163 on RSRT settings. It says:
Aggregation level "A" is implemented internally by the automatically created query "P/!!1P" (plan buffer query). This query acts like an InfoProvider. It reads the data of the database or provides the data from InfoProvider "P", it adds the data of the delta buffer "Dp" (or the delta buffer Dpi if P is a MultiProvider with several PartProviders Pi that can be planned) and transfers the data manager as data of the InfoProvider "A" of type "ALVL". The query "P/!!1P" can use aggregates and the cache; this is exactly like each normal query in "P". If "P" is a MultiProvider, it is useful to set PARTITIONMODE to "1".
For the query "P/!!1P" that is created automatically for an aggregation level or for all aggregation levels using the InfoProvider P, we recommend the following setting:
Read mode "H", request status "1", cache mode "1" or higher, delta cache "true" and SP grouping "1".
Furthermore, the selection to use the structure element (KIDSEL) should be "true".
The input-ready queries in "A" should not, and cannot, use a cache. The request status is irrelevant since queries in "A" are automatically set to current data. The delta buffer does not currently support hierarchy processing. Therefore, aggregation level "A" cannot completely support read mode "H". For input-ready queries at A:
Read mode "X", request status "0", cache mode "0".
The delta cache and SP grouping are not visible
Problems we have:
1) for query P/!!1P (PCA_AGQF/!!1PCA_AGQF in our example) does not allow changing the request status (greyed out). It now has value 0 instead of 1. It also does not allow to activate the delta cache flag. How to change this? In RSDIPROP we have set partitionmode to 1 for the multiprovider and activated the delta cache flag...
2) can we use the cache / delta cache principle for our planqueries? If so, how to ensure these settings remain activated in RSRT?

To change the cache settings for your cube.
Open the cube in RSA1 and click in 'Chance'.
- click in the 'Environment' menu;
- expand 'InfoProvider Properties'
- select the option 'Change'.
You will be able to set the cache mode for this provider.
I don't think it will be possible use cache for a multiprovider, it is
not possible.

How do I restore the settings for apps using Time Machine?
I believe there are problems with items within the Library Folder inside the System Folder. For example, there are two "Frameworks" Folders, but one has "(from old Mac)" after its name. I dare not try to remove or even move either.
Back in the day of OS 9, you could modify something, then search for it by "Last Modified" Date, and find where Apple has hidden itscontents. It's not so easy in OS X. I've had some success using Pondini's Time Machine FAQ's, though. Here is how I got to this problem:
Our family MacBook died. After getting a repair estimate of $500 to $700 "if it's the Logic Board," we decided to replace it. We purchased a MacBook Pro running Lion. (Later, we brought it to an Apple Store and were quoted $435 in house or $280, but they would have to send it out. Incredible repair: Logic Board, Top & Bottom Case, Super Drive, Battery, all for $280. No wonder they're #1). I pulled the Hard Dive out, erased it, and installed an older operating system, but during the repair they installed 10.6.
Restored the MBP from the TM backup of the MacBook. OK
The Macbook is repaired and the store showed me how to restore the data from the TM backup.
Restart and the passwords do not work due to restoring a 10.6 machine from a 10.7 backup.
Tech support guides me through resetting an admin password using the password utility on the install DVD.
changed the other passwords inside of Accounts in System Preferences. Then changed the password or the other Admin.
Restart, get a circle with a line through it.

I did but I thought it would erase and install but it just re-installed 10.6.
Most Apps work, except iPhoto. Mail is OK sending but only receives on one of 3 accounts.
Is there a fix for iPhoto & Mail? If not, I would plan to erase and use the finder to drag the user folders from TM to the MacBook. Can I just drag the Apps too? How about all of the settings for those Apps?If you don't keep a backup, you can't restore your machine to any state except the state in which you received it, brand new, with none of your own stuff on it. That makes a pretty convincing argument for backing up, doesn't it?

Is there a way to "calibrate" the magic mouse? Batteries are good. I have rearranged settings for mouse, air-cleaned, tried different surfaces, however, it seems to be misinterpreting finger movements and randomly trying to open launchpad when enabled-flashing between the app I am in and launchpad. When right-click is enabled I have to go to the extreme upper left of mousepad to click or it is interpreted as right-click. Won't consistently "scroll". Suggestions?
