Edit a podcast

I've downloaded via itunes 62 and counting weekly PhotoShop TV podcasts. They are each about an hour long. What I'm wanting to do is to cut out and save just the important parts (tutorials etc.) and save them along with a title describing what it's about in some format, so that I can refer back to them and view at a later time. This way I can pitch what I don't need and reduce the file size, and create an archive for reference purposes.
I have no idea how to go about this, or what to use, or even if it doable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
JeffN

Essentially I want to edit the profile under iTunes Preview.  Add an image from the site for the logo, edit the By Unknown and make other edits to the channel.
Is this possible to do?
I have attached an image of the image on the channel I would like to replace.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
In a nutshell I would like to customize the profile.

  • How can I Edit My Podcast? And why doesn't my new uploads show in iTunes?

My Rss feed is through soundcloud and I uploaded new files and they haven't appeared on my link in iTunes. Also, how can I edit my podcast page?

In fact your files do force a download - paste the URL into Safari's address bar and hit return - they will download rather than play inside the browser as they should. However they do play in the Store, so perhaps they've now instituted a workaround for that.
    Your feed is at http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:127918759/sounds.rss
There are four episodes, the latest being 25 February; all four appear in the Store and when subscribing.
If you want to amend the contents of the 'Description' column and the text you see when you click the 'i' next to it you need to amend the 'itunes:subtitle' and 'itunes:summary' tags respectively. The overall 'Description' which appears in the Store page above the episodes is carried in the 'itunes:summary' tag in the top section of the feed. If you want to amend these you will need to do so wherever you constructed the feed, presumably in Soundcloud. You cannot do so in iTunes itself, it simply reads what's in the feed.

Just change it wherever you entered it originally - in the feed, or in the program or service you are using. iTunes will pick it up eventually, though it may take a few days.

  • Editing techniques podcast

I watched an interesting MacBreak Studio podcast recently in which Billy Fox talks about his techniques using Final Cut's timeline. You might pick up some project organization ideas.
Here's a link to MacBreak Studio in iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=287113664 Look for "The Art of Editing Part 4 - The Feature Editor's Timeline".
There's a list of Billy Fox's work on IMDB http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0288886/

    Ian,
When the window opens in iTunes you can either highlight the subject podcast and click the 'play' arrow at the top left of the screen (I don't listen to/watch podcasts without downloading, so I just assume it works that way.), or click the 'subscribe' button in the upper part of the window to the right of the "MacBreak Studio" logo. Once you've subscribed, iTunes will download the latest podcast and give you the opportunity to download older ones.
Choose "Podcasts" in the LIBRARY list at the left side of your screen and you can "get episode" for the timeline editing podcast. Once it downloads, you can "unsubscribe" if you don't want any more episodes.
The timeline editing episode is 49.4 megs.

  • How do i edit existing podcast

I want to add intro/outro audio, change meta data and edit my profile.
How do I get back into the backend of my podcast on iTunes?

You can't edit anything in iTunes: it simply reads the feed. You will have to make whatever changes you want in whatever method you used to create the podcast in the first place, and then re-upload the feed. (There is no need to re-submit it when doing this or when adding a new episode; subscribers will see changes immediately and the Store will take a couple of days or so to update).

  • Editing Video Podcasts

I have a bunch of video podcasts, specifically tutorials. Some have only a few minutes out of an hour that I actually wanna keep. So I want to edit them down, nothing fancy, just shorter. I figured I'd use Windows Movie Maker cause I don't want to download any extra software. Possible?

I have the exact same problem here Jason, only in my case the project is merely 15 mins long...
I noticed the audio sync issues on exported files (needed it as a QT HD to play in front of a whole school assembly) about half way through the audio would go miles out - well over a minute adrift.
Having read some posts I decided to detach the audio as you did, it let me do this for a while then about half way through I got the beach ball and likewise I'm now stuck with an urgent essential project that I can't do anything with. This is on a brand new 27" i7 iMac with all the updates, and no other projects. It's like the dark days of Pinnacle on windows, I thought this stuff was supposed to just work!
Does anyone have any suggestions on a fix - I've repaired permissions, tried trashing the iMovie prefs etc but it still hangs every time.

  • How do I edit my podcast to a new category?

My podcast is in a poor category choice. I want to change it, but I can't seem to find a way to do it. Please do not refer me to the general support page that has 10,000,000 different fact pukes on it. I searched it and couldn't find my answers. It seems to work from the understanding that you know where to start editing on the HTML. I don't have a clue how to change the category, and I wish there was a simple way to do this. Is there?
How do I find a page where I can change this? I'm clueless how to even edit details of my podcast now that it's up.
    Thanks

In your xml file look for the 'categories' tags: they will look like this:
    <category>Performing Arts</category>
    <itunes:category text="Arts">
    <itunes:category text="Performing Arts" />
    </itunes:category>
Amend the categories to suit: choose from the categories listed at the bottom of the page linked to above. Reupload the file. It may take a few days for the change to be registered.

  • How to edit general podcast description?

How do I edit the general description of my podcasts that appears before each individual podcast (at the top of the iTunes page)? The information that is displayed is shorter than the description that is on my podcast feed page at libsyn. In other words, iTunes is *not* publishing what's in the feed, so there must be some other place where I can edit the description.

Would you please ask this in the Producing Podcasts forum, and please include the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'.  Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable. Without this information it's not possible to comment.

  • Editing a Podcast Title

I accidentally typed in "blog" instead of "podcast" when I was submitting my iTunes. So now its like " ---- ---- --- blog" isntead of "---- ---- --- podcast" on the download page in the iTunes store.
How do I change the title on the download page? Would appreciate any help.
    HP Pavilion   Windows XP

    Simple.
Go back to ITMS, and submit a new podcast using your current XML file but with the corrected podcast title. Once your new podcast is accepted, ask ITMS to have your old incorrectly titled podcast removed.

  • Editing a song or podcast?

Is there a way to edit a song or podcast? If not, is there any software on the market that can do that? I have a few podcasts that are cool but a few songs have some heavy profanity that I want to delete but not get rid of the whole thing. There are also some songs in the Music Store that for some reason just has explicit versions....wish every artist made a Edited Clean version along with their Explicit versions!

Editing the music and editing a podcast can be very different, depending upon copyright issues. I haven't tried to edit any songs from iTunes, but I believe you can edit a podcast, by taking it into GarageBand and cutting out what you like. I wanted a song out of a podcast, and the GB route wasn't working, not sure why- used Audio Hyjack Pro and that did the job.

  • Editing an approved podcast

How can I edit the picture, author, other discriptive information on my new podcast after it's been submitted and approved?

Edit your podcast, upload it to your website and ping it via iTunes to update it immediately or wait a day and iTunes will update automatically.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/whatson/podcasts/specs.html#changing
"You can also ping the iTunes server to update your podcast information by entering the following URL into a browser:
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=FEEDID
where FEEDID is your iTunes podcast numeric ID. You can also use:
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?feedURL=http://FEEDURL
where FEEDURL is the url for your feed.
Regardless of the ping method you use, iTunes will return an HTTP 200 code."

  • Editing some descriptions and changing some images within podcast section.

    Hi,
Editing some descriptions and changing some images within our podcast section.
I don't have the information needed to log into our feed-burner site, and was wondering if maybe there was another way I could edit the podcast section?

If Feedburner is taking its information from another feed you can update that feed, unless you have enabled 'Smartcast' in Feedberner which over-rides the original. In that event you can only amend it in Feedburner (either way you can't do it in iTunes).
You will need to take steps to discover your login; I don't know whether Feedburner Support are likely to be able to help you.
