Edit a Stamp

Is it possible to create a stamp that can then be edited by the user?
Example;
We recieve an invoice from a vendor, the invoice file (pdf) is routed to the project manager who is in charge of coding the invoice then forwarding it to accounting.
In the attached file you will see the coding stamp that I created and what was done by hand.  I would like the project manager to be able to use the coding stamp then edit the fields with the proper data so the coding by hand is no longer used.

Or, if someone has another suggestion on another way of doing this I am open for suggestions.
Thx

I want to create an editable custom stamp.
I can scan in my stamp image in the create custom stamp tool, no problem.
But I would like to make several editable fields: date, reviewer's initials, submittal number.
    Anyone know how to?

You not only need to create a custom stamp, but you need to add dymanic form fields. See AUC Tutorials - Dynamic Stamps for more information.

  • Where is the requisite technical reference for creating and editing Dynamic Stamps in AcrobatPro XI?

Need to create a number of these, assuming there is documentation, but I can't find any.

There are aspects of dynamic stamps that are not documented by Adobe or explicitly explained in any official documentation. That's just the way it is and what makes Thom's book as valuable as it is. Dynamic stamps use JavaScript, which is documented in the SDK, but there are some properties that can be used with dynamic stamps that are not documented by Adobe, and certain behavior is not documented by Adobe. The book really is the most comprehensive reference available.
It is usually not recommended to rely on undocumented features, but in this case I would say there is little risk as there have not been significant changes since dynamic stamps were first introduced.

  • Automatic date/time stamp a document

Is there a way to automatically insert a date/time on a document? I have a program that allows me to alter pdf documents and I need to be able to enter the date and time. Blackberry allowed me to type "dt" and it would automatically enter it for me. Does Apple have a feature similar?

I have looked at that but haven't been able to figure out how to use or edit the stamp.  Is there a place
to set up time/date stamping, or maybe it's to be done manually?  In either case, I haven't been able to figure how to do a stamp that is anything other than the stock stamp.

  • Adding/Modifying a "Stamp" on a PDF document

Are there options within Adobe to (1) create a PDF version of a supplier's invoice, allowing the person creating the PDF file to include a "stamp" that shows what general ledger account(s) the invoice should be coded to; and (2) allow another person to edit that stamp by applying his/her initials of appproval?
A good internal control environment suggests that the person doing the initial coding should not have the authority to also apply initials of approval.  I'm thinking that there's a version of Adobe Acrobat that allows for differing levels of access to a given PDF document?
    Many thanks,
    AlbertaRedneck

You can't alter the contents of a stamp after it's placed, but another stamp can be placed on top of an existing one. The first stamp can also be flattened, converting it to regular page contents, and the initials stamped on top.

  • Creating Custom Stamp

    Hello all.
I am working on Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. I am trying to create a custom stamp of my signature. When I import my signature , it shows up perfectly (reading horizontally, like I want it), but when I go to insert the stamp , it is rotating it 90 degrees clockwise for some reason (reading top to bottom). I know I can edit the stamp and make it horizontal again (reading left to right) but that is quite a hassle considering I use the stamp 6-10 times a day. I would really like to insert the stamp and just print the page. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this or why the stamp is rotating.
    Thank you in advance.

    I figured it out!
was having the same issue and it cost me half the morning at work.
when i was creating the stamp, i needed some comments and markups added and to "flatten it" i was printing it to PDF and then croping the page to the size i wanted and then importing it as a stamp. anyway, when i was printing to pdf, in the print dialogue box, in the section "Page Handling", the option "Auto-Rotate and Center" was checked, this was forcing my stamp to be centered and the page orientation to be landscape. For kicks n giggles, I unchecked it, the page orientation changed to Portrait and my stamp image went to the upper left. I cropped my result as I normally would, and upon creating the new custom stamp, it was right as rain. hope this helps!

  • Custom stamp naming

I've created some custom stamps in Acrobat Standard X. I then edit the pdf in my stamps folder which contains the stamp and add text fields and use javascript to create a custom colculation script when the stamp is used (to bring up a prompt so the user can type text which will be added to the stamp). The script references the template name for the stamp. The name, which is randomly generated by acrobat when I create the stamp initially, is cumbersome. I'd like to give the template some unique name that is easier to remember rather than the random string generated by acrobat. How do I accomplish this? If I open the pdf in a text editor I can find the string but if I change it and save the file it corrupts the file. Thanks in advance for your help on this!
    -Ariel

I'm confused. Following the instructions above I open the stamp file from the stamps folder. I select Tools>Document Processing>Page Templates. I select the template, with the randomly generated name, that corresponds to the stamp. In the Name: field I edit the stamp's name (everything between the # and the = symbols). Upon changing the name all buttons but the Close and the Add... buttons gray out. I click Add... and it adds a new template but leaves the original random-name template in the list. Can I now point to the newly added template in the code I have attached to my stamp or do I need to still point to the old template? Also, assuming I can now point to the new template, can I delete the old template? In the alternative, can I somehow change the original randomly generated name template without adding a new template? Thanks for your help!

  • Multiple Identities when selecting a stamp

I want to use a dynamic stamp, that says "APPROVED" but I want a list of people to drop down so that I can choose the one whose name will appear on the stamp. I know that I can edit the stamp each time a different user wants to use it, but the users will not go through that each time. They want a fast way to stamp approved with their name. They are all going to one computer to do this otherwise I would set up each computer with their own identity.

And your malpractice insurance company and state licensing board will accept this practice?
Will only the doctors be allowed to sign into the system and will they logout when done?
If you want to do this, see Dynamic Stamp Secrets by Thom Parker.
I would really look hard at using individual digital signature certificates assigned to each doctor and each doctor is responsible for their own password. I would also have the doctors regularly get security training and physically sign a statement that they understand that they are personally responsible for authenticity of all documents with their digital signature.

  • Is there a way to use custom stamp packs in Line?

I love the UI stencils, and I'd like to create some of my own.

I was thinking that using Illustrator or Adobe Ideas for the stamp creation would make sense.
    Possible workflow could be:
    Workflow In Line:
    - Create edit custom stamp pack
    - Organize custom stamps into stamp packs
    Workflow in Ideas:
    - Create Idea
    - Send Idea to Line as a stamp
    Workflow for illustrator files:
    - Open in Line

  • Stamped Page Prints Blank

We have been happily using a customized dynamic stamp for a few years without issue. Last week, I updated the stamp by adding a second colour. Now, any page that is stamped prints blank. (Other pages in the document print correctly.)
    Edit:
    Other stamps print without issue.
It would appear that the problem is with my updated stamp. Has anyone run into this before? What sort of changes to a stamp might cause this?

After being stymied back in March, I have spent a couple of hours trying to solve this today, to no avail. Can anyone offer any assistance?

  • Record actions bug. does not execute the dont save action even though it acknowledges in action list

i am using macbook pro running Lion
so i am trying to save a series of actions that i want applied to a batch of images. i do all the actions correctly (i've done this before in earlier version of photoshop). stop recording my actions, and open the same image to make sure the automation process works properly and i get the same image through automation that i got when building my actions. one
of the actions is cutting and pasting a portion of the image in a different location, yet during the automation it always ends up somewhere else, and not in the same place, which makes no sense. another issue is during the recording of my actions i close out of all the files b4 i stop recording and click dont save. so this should be automated, but when i run the automation it prompts me to click dont save which it shouldnt do. i cant sit at the cpu and click dont save for thousands of images. whts the point of automation if i have to actually do something. stupid program. and i can clearly see in the list of actions tht it recorded me clicking dont save yet it still prompts me every time. i really do hate cs6. i wld install my old photoshop but b/c i have lion it doesnt support it... of course.. *rolls eyes*

@conroy - one of the actions means one task in an action (see screen shot).
@noel - i am able to run my action properly when i "play selection", but when i try to run a batch of images through the "automate" function is when the issues begin to arise. at least most of the issues.
i would insert an image to show what i did, but i cant seem to get that to work (on my pc or mac... weird).  i loaded it to my fbook page and u can view it by following the below link
    https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=750482081505&l=4d1bb044bd
you can view an image of what i did here.
so in detail what i am trying to do is:
record an action of the edits i make to a raw image so i can then run that same action on a batch of thousands of images via "automate."  the specific tasks i am trying to complete during my action should be visble in the link i provided. to explain in detail what is occuring that is being recorded as an action:
    1)- i press begin record
    2)- I am open a raw image
3)- there is a time stamp in the image and i select and copy the time stamp from the corner of the image
4)- i then open a new document and past the time stamp into the new document
5)- i then increase the size of the pasted time stamp by about 3x by changing the resolution
6)- i then go back to original image
7)- i crop the original image to exclude the time stamp and other superflous things on the edges of the image
8)- i then rotate the original image 90 degrees CCW
9)- i then go back to the new document w/ the time stamp and select the time stamp with the marquee tool, so I can copy the time stamp to the original image
10)- i copy and paste the time stamp to the original image, i use the "move tool" and move the time stamp to the top of the original image.
11)- i then flatten the original image (i thought when this was done this is essentially combining layers, so there should be no possibility of the edited time stamp moving around as it has been flattened onto the original image)
12)- i then save the original image (that was flattened w/ the edited time stamp) as a .jpeg  As part of the save process i also select the resolution.
    ***issue***
so i am now having an issue on this section as well.  as you can see in the link i provided i have told adobe to do all this, yet now at this section it prompts me to make a decision about the resolution (i.e. press "ok").
    13) -after this step i then select "close all" from the file menu which closes the original image that i just saved and prompts me if i want to save the new document i created for the time stamp i edited
    14) - i select "dont save"
    15) -i press stop record
    16) - i then go to the folder where i saved the file i just edited in photoshop and change the name.
    17) - i start the action process to see if i can replicate the manual actions i just completed through automation.  i have no issues replicating this when i manually start the action, except for my issue w/ the time stamp detailed below.
    ***issue*****
when i do this the time stamp that i edited and pasted back into the image is not in the same place. i have only gotten it to be in the same place once, and the only thing i did differently was continually re-create the above action in the same manner.  each time i recreated the action the time stamp was in a different place and one time it was finally in the place i moved it to.
    18) - after checking that the action works, i then attempt to automate a batch of files
    19) - i select file -> automate -> batch
    20) - in batch i choose the folder with the original raw images that i now want to run the action on and also select the folder where to place the altered images
    21) - in the batch menu i do not have any of the boxes checked (i.e. suppress color profile warnings, etc.)
    22) - i select "ok" and the automation process starts
this is where i run into issues.  originally i would get prompted @ step 14 (above) instead of the automation process just reading the task in the action that says select "dont save". somehow i do not get prompted there anymore. now i get prompted at step 12.  it saves its as jpeg, but instead of completing the save process, at the resolution screen it prompts me to select "ok" instead of reading the task in the action that says select "ok"
i have created new actions for the images i collect since CS4 and CS5 and i have never run into any of the issues i have described above. i appreciate any and all help you can provide, as it currently stands i am pretty upset b/c i have wasted an entire day or productivity messing w/ what appears to be a buggy program.

  • Javascript in RPT field

    Post Author: Kathir
    CA Forum: Formula
I am using crystal XI. I could able to use hyperlinks in the report. but hyperlinks using existing IE sessions to open the link. So i thought using javasciprt in the to open a new window (window.open). I have tried with registry changes and IE settings too. but it din work. Is there any way to use javascript in the hyperlink field?

Do the scripts access document level scripts or folder level scripts?
I find that using the "Manage" stamps to load the stamp and assign a unique system stamp name to the PDF file and then editing the stamp file to add form field and JavaScripts is the best approach. Once the stamp has been added to one system, you can copy it through the OS file manager from one computer's stamp folder to another computer's stamp file.
You could even create a template as a stamp but then you would need make sure the stamp's system name was not duplicated.

  • Is there a script to add to a form in LiveCycle to disable digital stamp editing in Adobe Reader

I work for a state Agency and we want to use digital stamps as our signatures on our internal documents. I have created the form in LiveCycle and I know that in Adobe Reader by default the stamp will use the person's sign on ID for the stamp and then the person adds their name and other information.
However, if the person right clicks the stamp, and edits the Identity and puts in another sign on ID number, such as their supervisor's and stamps the document, there is no way to tell that both of those stamps, with different sign on IDs and names, were created by the same person.
If there is a script I can enter in LiveCycle, that when the form is opened in Adobe Reader, that would lock the Identity field of a stamp created in Adobe Reader from allowing a change to the sign on ID, then that would solve our problem and maybe the problem for other state agencies wanting to follow suit.
The digital signatures are even worse. I made one in my name, my supervisor's name and my dog's name, attached them all to a document, validated all the signatures and they look absolutely authentic. Why would Adobe make digital signatures like that? If we could just find some evidence within the data showing that all the signatures were applied by the same person or on the same computer, then we could use them. But the stamps at least grab that unique sign on number that we use and applies it to the stamp if the user doesn't alter it.
I'm on a time crunch as we hoped to launch this after the first of the year but our attorneys are saying, "uh, uh" until something can be done to prevent fraud. We have over 3,000 people in our agency so EchoSign would be out of the question.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Maybe some sort of "get identity" or something. We just need to be able to prove who put the stamp on the document.

  • How do you edit out the date and time stamp from a photo

How do you edit out the date and time stamp from a photo

You can blur it out with retouch
The built-in "Retouch" brush in "Edit" mode should suffice, if the background is mostly uniform, and if you set the size of the brush to slightly wider than the bar width of the letters. For example, in this picture I removed the year from the date (in the lower right corner) by using the "retouch" brush and following the contours of the letters. (the screen shot is from iPhoto '11, but iPhoto 9 should give similar results).

  • How to create editable stamps in Adobe Acrobat X Standard?

    Hi,
Is it possible to create a custom stamp with check boxes and a fillable text field so that after I stamp a PDF I can check off some of the boxes and edit the text field?
Or maybe it would be possible to do this by applying an existing form to an existing PDF?
I am going to have to stamp many PDFs so I do not want to have to build a new stamp or form every time I am using it because this is time consuming.
    Thanks,
    Jayden

Not exactly. After the stamp is applied it's flat and can't be edited. However, you can add form fields to the stamp template and have them edited just before it is applied, using a script that prompts the user to enter the values. This is called a "dynamic stamp" and creating it ranges from quite easy to very complicated, depending on the amount of type of data the user should enter.
If you're interested I could develop such a stamp for you, or you could try to do it yourself... There's plenty of information about it here and there's even an entire book about the subject by Thom Parker.
