Edit and convert MTS/M2TS free

I like taking videos with my Cannon camcorder to freeze the sweet moments surrounding me. But it was not an easy thing to play the mts/m2ts videos recorded on the portable devices. when searching for the free solution, I found macx video converter free edition. It can convert any HD videos MKV, M2TS, AVCHD and SD videos AVI, MP4, MOV, FLV etc to the video that can be played on iPhone, iPad, iPod, and other devices. Moreover, I can use it to cut off the part I don't like, merge many videos into one, add my favorite music as background.
It's easy to use. Just a few clicks, I can transfer the videos from my camcorder to my iPad.
Surely, handbrake is another good choice, but I think its setting is a little complicated. The simpler the better.
Any friend wants to transfer the camcorder videos to your mobile phone or tablet, you  can have a try.

OK, this macx video converter free edition is free and easy to use , I am also like something simple but good to use, and free. Thx for your suggestions.

  • The best Mac MTS Splitter-Editing/splitting AVCHD MTS/M2TS videos successfully on Mac

I have recorded a long video with Sony HDR-CX700 Camcorder, but there are some parts I would like to cut off. I once thought a video converter is a must for cutting videos. But I search for a long time , found may spliter and converter just for windows, no MAC. Yesterday, my friend recommended me try Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac. Not only can help me  frame by frame cutting/splitting AVCHD without re-encoding, but also can help me convert mts to Apple ProRes and  AIC  codec for Final Cut Pro/ iMovie.
I think should have many users need a program that allows for  (frame by frame) cut AVCHD MTS/M2TS videos files. If you are looking for any frame accuracy solution to do with the AVCHD videos encoded in MTS format on Mac,  Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac is the best choice for you. This is the first Mac software which can help HD camcorders users to realize frame by frame editing/splitting AVCHD MTS/M2TS videos successfully on Mac.
Here I would like to demonstrate the simple steps to cut AVCHD MTS/M2TS videos files without re-encoding on Mac.
Step 1. Load AVCHD MTS videos to Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac.
    - To load AVCHD videos from camcorder
Connect camcorder to computer with USB cable, and run Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac, you will be asked to follow the wizard. Otherwise, click the Camcorder button to load camcorder videos.
You can choose to backup the videos to computer or just import videos. Here we just select Import to add videos from camcorder to the program.
Step 2. Add MTS files for split with no recompression.
Click the Add movie button, and a movie for lossless output will be created by default. Select the MTS files you would like to cut mts from the Camcorder tab, drag and drop to the movie.
    Step 3. Split/Cut AVCHD video.
From the timeline, you may notice the vernier, which is used as time pointer. Click on the Vernier, and move to the timeline you want to cut, and click the "Split" button to cut the video. You may also click the Split button when the video plays to the point you want to cut.
Then click on segment you want to cut off from the timeline, and then click the Delete button next to the Split button to remove the unwanted part.
Step 4. Export videos without conversion.
Choose Export in the main interface, and click the OK button to get videos without recompression. You will get the cutted/splitted AVCHD without quality lost in a few minutes.

I hear good things about ClipWrap. The other good one is Voltaic HD  from Shedworx.
I suggest that you read their websites and choose the best one for you.
I think they have demo versions.
If you import directly from your camera, you don't need these.
Also, for future reference, you can use the Create Camera Archive feature on the Import screen. This will save your AVCHD files exactly as they are on your camera, but it will also preserve the metadata from your camera so that iMovie can import it later. It is a good way to save the contents of your camera at its original size and full quality.
When you import AVCHD into iMovie it is converted into Apple Intermediate Codec for better performance, but it will be a larger file size because it is less compressed.
With ClipWrap, you have the option to keep the file at its original size, but I would not recommend this for performance reasons. (But you can try it if you have a powerful Mac).

  • Adobe X PDF files converted to jpg, edited and converted back to PDF have ragged, unclear text.  I didn't have this problem with Acrobat 9 standard.  What is the remedy for this.  If this is the best I can expect, I won't be able to use X standard.

I can't imagine any worse workflow than converting to JPEG to edit text, then back to PDF. Text in a PDF is a vector thing, smooth at all resolutions. And JPEG is made for photos. EVERY conversion to JPEG and back loses quality but how much loss there is will vary.
If you must go to an image format, try PNG.

  • Will buzzword allow to upload word template, edit and convert to PDF.

    Hi,
we have a module in our project where we need to Upload a word template - Edit the template - and save the changes - and attach exisitng uploaded files (for e.g. Word, excel and pdf file) and convert the word template along with the attached file into single PDF.
    So is this possible?
Can any one help me in this?
    Is there any free download?

    Hello,
Buzzword is an online word processor that will absolutely allow you to upload a word .doc, edit it in Buzzword format, then export as a PDF. The one part that you can't do with Acrobat.com is to merge files - so you'd either need to merge the word .docs first and then upload, or use Adobe Acrobat desktop software if you need to merge PDF files. There is nothing to download as this is an online tool. Basic accounts are free - you can sign up at www.acrobat.com.
Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.
    Kind Regards,

  • How to convert .mts file to Adobe Premiere?

I shoot my family party with my Sony HDR-XR500V with the output video format of .MTS . I tried to do some editing on Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. But it does not support mts file. I have made some searches ,and i found that the Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 can edit the file formats of mpeg2 and avi. So i am wondering how to convert mts file to mpeg2 and avi for me to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro CS4? what software and programme should i need.and where can i get it. Thanks.

As long as you have a AVCHD converter, you can use almost any editing software to edit and perfect your MTS/M2TS video files. What you should do is converting AVCHD video files into the video formats editable by editing software you are using.
As for this question, you can convert MTS from your HD camcorder to MPEG 2,MOV or AVI supportable by Adobe Premiere.
I recommend Brorsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac which is the fastest and best quality video converter i ever used.It can help you to convert MTS/M2TS recording to some playable and editable video formats, like MOV for editing on iMovie,FCP,FCE and Adobe Premiere you are using.
I ever used some video converter which produces video files with the issue of video and audio out of sync, but Brorsoft works fine in this point.

  • Converting mts files for use in fcp

i know this horse has already been turned into glue ...
in any case, i have a dvd's worth of mts files provided by a client. can't import them directly into fcp, so i need to run them through some sort of conversion. tried MPEG StreamClip and that doesn't work. Toast is too expensive. demoed VoltaicHD and didn't care for it. the two that worked the best are Moyea HD Video Converter and Pavtube MTS/M2TS Converter that were recommended. very simple interface, reasonable file sizes and much quicker than VoltaicHD. they go for $35 which i guess is reasonable. interestingly they seem like the same exact product just slightly different skins. anyone have any experience with either? one thing that i did find disconcerting is they use SWREG as their e-commerce provider who immediately tried to sell me keycode backup insurance. the whole operation seemed a bit shady to me. anyone have any problems with these guys?
if anyone has any other solutions to this mts conversion issue it'd be appreciated. thanks.

Hi,is your problem resolved? there is a good mts converter for mac of highly-regarded reputation from this forum and other popular camcorder forum.http://www.camcorderinfo.com/bbs/showthread.php?p=251941

  • Free MTS / M2TS converter for FCP X

How can i convert MTS or M2TS for free so i can use it in FCP X?

    Hi maivo252
Professional MTS video converter must have a comprehensive format support, not only to support a variety of high-definition video camera brands such as Sony, JVC, Panasonic and other video files mts/m2ts recording, but also supports output to any popular video formats such as AVI, MP4, WMV, MOV, MPEG ... user chosen at random. The most important point, converting the output video file format is used not only to meet the needs, and to strictly maintain its quality HD video, like MTS, reached its 1080P video resolution.

  • I've been giving HD videos in MTS format and convert the for editing in FCE.  Looks good in the program, but when I export the finished film, quality had been noticeable diminished.  Is there any way to prevent FCE from lowering the output quality?

    Hello -
I've been sent HD footage in MTS format and converted it to Mp4 for editing in FCE.  It looks good in FCE but when I export the movie, the quality is noticably diminished.   Is there any way I can prevent FCE from lowering the quality on export?
    Thanks.

    >I use Foxreal video converter for Mac to convert the MTS using the Apple intermediate codec setting and the problem is that I don't get image, just audio
My thought would be to NOT use Foxreal video converter.
    Use MPEG Streamclip or Clipwrap.

  • Convert mts files for editing in Final Cut?

Is there a way to convert mts files for editing in Final Cut Express or Pro?

Well, first, if you are talking about AVCHD video, FCE & FCP can directly import it from your camcorder.  They will also import AVCHD from an SD card or even your hard drive provided you have saved the entire AVCHD folder structure, not just the .mts files by themselves.
If you only have the .mts files (without the surrounding AVCHD folder strucutre) then you should be able to use MPEG Streamclip to convert them to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec for editiing in FCE.  MPEG Streamclip is free and works great.
If that doesn't work, then look into ClipWrap, which has a $49.99 price tag.
This will work the same for converting .mts files to ProRes assuming you already have FCP installed, which gives you the ProRes codec.
FCE & FCP do not, however, directly import video from DSLRs because the camera manufacturers have each done some proprietary stuff in their implementation of video in their DSLRs.  However, if you have a Canon DSLR & FCP (that is, FCP 7) there is a Canon EOS video plugin that will enable you import the video directly from the DSLR into FCP7.  Not sure it's supported on Lion (10.7.x) just yet, but if you have a Canon DSLR it's worth a look.

  • MTS-M2TS Converter for Mac or HD Converter for Mac or Click Wrap?

I am purchasing a Pansonic LUMIX DMC-ZS19K and it's HD format is 1080/60p. Which of the following softeares would be the most simple and effective to play/edit in iMovie:
    MTS-M@TS Converter for Mac
    HD Converfter for Mac
    Click Wrap
It is quite irritating that one must always do work arounds with Macs!
    Thanks!

pug1334 wrote:...  I have not found one topic where 1080/60p is supported by Mac. .
That's a very general statement of yours, and the 'pros' using FCPX and 2k, 4k, 60p, 100p, 120p will tell you, 'not supported by Mac' is silly wrong (I'm using 1080/50p almost daily on a Mac ...)
iMovie, topic here, supports in its latest incarnation AVCHD v2, so, if your cam is within those specs, 1080/60p is no prob. ... btw: just try it , no need for academic discussion....

  • Editing PAL wmv clip and converting to NTSC

I have a 50 min clip (given to me by a client) which was captured in PAL, edited, and compressed as .wmv file; the audio rate is 44.1KHz, square pixel ratio. I need to edit in FCP and convert to NTSC. I've tried rendering in FCP after it's imported, converting to NTSC before bringing it in (probably at the wrong settings), and changing the sequence settings.
I can view it fine in the viewer, but once I put it in the timeline, the sound is completely unsynched (probably the 44.1 thing), which is why I changed the sequence settings to 44.1.
I did find the macworld article from March '06 on how to successfully transfer to PAL using Compressor 2 and will use that. Here's the link for those who want it:
    http://www.macworld.com/2006/02/secrets/marchcreate/index.php
Here's my question, do I first transfer the huge clip through flip4mac to make it a .mov, or do I put it through compressor? Or, do I edit it down to the 7 - 1 minute clips I actually need from the clip, export those using ???? and then do the other conversions?

Do you think the out of sync sound is due to the
    44.1KHz as opposed to 48KHz?
    No.
    I did try changing the
sequence settings to 44.1 bringing the exact clips
in, and then rendering (which should convert from
.wmv), but it was still out of sync. Doing it that
way, should I make the sequence settings 44.1KHz but
leave it PAL until I later do the compressor
    conversion?
I'd use flip4Mac to get the files to .mov's... then edit in PAL. Export the PAL sequence to compressor for the NTSC conversion.
I think once you get them to .mov's you're possibly home free with the sync problem. FCP just doesn't support wmv's... so that could be the sync problem.

  • How do you convert .mts to .mov for Quicktime and iMovie?

I have a bunch of mts recordings from my Sony Handycam. Now I want to import them to my Mac and then put them into iMovie for further editing. How do I do? I heard that mts should be converted to mov format which maintains high quality but compatibale with iMovie and Quicktime. Is there any freeware to convert *.mts files to mov? Thanks for any recommendations.

The best solution is to not convert at all and import directrly from your Handycam, you can do this from the File>Import menu.  Check to se if your Handycam is supported here https://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US
NOTE: the following is converting video and is always time intensive so take that into consideration.
For the videos on your disk it is sadly too late for that so you will have to get a converter, I recommend Handbrake http://handbrake.fr .  You can convert the file to an mp4 which can handle the same (and better) quality video as mov does and it supports AVCHD video (the same quality as your camra).
    Simply select MPEG-4 (mp4v2)
Video Codec: H.264 (this is what is in an MOV file)
and set "constant quality" around 13 or below (the smaller the number the higher the quality but larger file size)
You end up with Bly-Ray quality, iMovie accaptable video.
