Edit Appraisal through MSS

Hi
We are about to implemented MSS and Appraisal (MBO).
I want to create an Appraisal via MSS but I'm not sure how to do that.
When I select My staff -> Employee Review -> Edit Appraisals I get the message 'No suitable appraisal template is available'.
I can create a template directly in SAP.
Is this the correct way to create an appraisal document?
If that's correct, does anybody know why I get this message.
We are running on 4.7 with SAP EP 6.0.

I already have created a template and it's released.
I can see all the templates in the Status Overview drop down list.
I still cannot see the template in 'Edit Appraisal'.

Today, I went to JotSpot and reached the following page saying that Safari is not supported [from http://feedback.jot.com/KnownIssues/]:

I do not know how JotSpot implements online editing, but I have been on sites using Safari which have allowed me to have an html editor with formatting buttons and a choice between wysiwyg and html editors.
You can always send in a bug report using "Report Bugs to Apple" under the Safari menu.
And for now, if you want to use JotSpot you can use Firefox.

Compensation Specialist Role through MSS

Hi All,
We have new requirement to build Compensation Specialist role through MSS instead of using Default ECC Compensation Specialist role and Compensation Specialist business Package role.
This is My Requirement, if i am login as an MSS Compensation Specialist role in my SAP Portal, i need to able to see all employees in that Organization Structure and i need to able to plan and update for employees instead of planning for only my direct employees as a manager.
Even though i am in first level, second level or top level manager, that doesn't matter.
My question is only the thing is how to create the custom evaluation path, Object Selection Rules and Object Selection.
If any one has been completed this configuration, please help me with step by step.

Nice to see your reply, my client wants from MSS itself instead of the Business Package role etc. He wants to Manage Compensation Specialist Role responsibilities through MSS itself.
Here we are using completely customized OADP for my MSS Components, i did the whole customization, every thing is working fine. Now i have to do this one also. My client is very much interested on this one.
If you know the solution please share with me.

CATS Approval through MSS WD - Default to "Resubmit All" than "Approve All"

Hi,
Is there any possibility to change the CATS Portal WD Timesheet Approval defaults to "Resubmit All" than "Approve All"?
Any input or feedback is highly appreciated.

To default the Resubmit all:
WD CATS Approval through MSS - Default to "Resubmit All" - HRMSS_CAT_WD_APP
To change the sort:
WD CATS Approval through MSS - sorting the options "Resubmit All, etc"

Cats Approval through MSS WD

My Client needs Cats Approval like this,We are implementing cProjects with CATS, we want approvals through MSS.
Scenario is Approver for the time sheet entries of particular project is respective project manager not immediate supervisor. Inorder to create work item in the proj manager's worklist for cats approval what logic i should use to identify the project manager of a particular project as an approver?
pls give the steps to be followed for workflow and standard config aswell as any Badi to be used to fulfill this requirement.

approval based on attributes can be handled by feature CATEX or the standard badi BADI_CATS_APPROVAL
Please read the help documentation of this badi or in spro

Through MSS can we allow staff (e.g. secretary) to approve leave records on behalf of managers?If its possible? pl explain the process.Awaiting for your positive reply at the earliest.

If the manager wants to assign the responsibility of approving the leave request tyo someone else, he can adopt the substitution. look in the Business Workplace.

Editing XML Through NAL

Hey All,
I am having a lot of trouble editing XML files through the NAL. I was
hoping to be able to do it easily using the text editor built into the
NAL, but have had no success. Changing the file extension to txt doesn't
help either. Pretty much everyhtng leads to crashing the NAL or buffer
overruns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what do you mean with editing xml through NAL?
do you mean an application objects which changes stuff in a text file?
if yes, how big is the text file, are there any special characters, doesn
the file contain the stuff you want to change more than once?

Appraisal Document - MSS Overview Screen Tab Layout

Within MSS when displaying the status flows of the appraisal documents the tab 'In Review' is out of order. The layout of the tabs are In Prep, In Planning, In Process, Completed, Approved, Closed Approved, Rejected, Closed Rejected, In Review
How do I get the 'In Review' tab displayed after 'In Process"?
Also, is there a way to hide the tabs: Approved, Closed Approved, Rejected, Closed Rejected since we are not using the approval process?

I have edited a standard SAP theme through Eclipse tool . I have made some color changes in that and
downloaded the theme . After checking the portal.zip folder ..... UR folder is missing in that theme ,
So how to do that one ?
Please help me. ( I dont have much knowledge in Java )

As I have to upload the theme in R/3 not in portal , the first suggestion is not useful for me.
If we come to second point , you mean to say using BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS program i have to upload
my edited theme to MIME repository in this path /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/CustomerThemes/<my theme> ?
If I upload without 'UR' folder is it will work fine ??

Cannot Edit Documents Through WebDAV

We have recently installed 9ias (infra902 + mid902) on RH Linux AS 2.1, added some recommendated patches, installed mid903 on same server. So far, everything seems to be working fine. I am in the process of building and setting up some portal pages and want to expose the WebDav functionality to our users instead of having them download and upload documents. I connected to dav_portal/portal and was able to successfully see and open the documents. But after editing them, I was not able to save them back because they were read-only. I tested this with text, Word, and Excel documents. I compared the oradav.conf file to the one in Note:207548.1 How to configure and test WebDAV for Portal 9.0.2. I am using a Win2000 machine with Office2000. Is there some
configuration/setup I am missing?

Yes, it works fine through copy/paste. But it asks my username and password when I open the Web Folder, even if I have a session opened in the web UI or in my iFS application.

What out-of-box actions initiated by HR go through MSS approval?

I'm new to HR, and have been asked to find out what out-of-box actions are there that can be initiated by HR (not employees, but HR employees), that will go through a MSS approval process?
For example: Retention Payments are initiated by Comp Analyst; then approved by employee’s Manager, HR Manager, Compensation Manager; then sent to Payroll.
Are there other processes/actions like this that exist? E.g. initiating a spot bonus.
I appreciate that we can build anything we want. What we would like to know is what's seeded?
I also appreciate that this question is a little open ended, but if anyone can point me the right direction that would be a start. There is mountains of documentation that I have to plow through.

Can only edit contact through Call Log

It seems I used to be able to touch Contacts, then touch a specific contact, then press the Menu to view/edit a contact - I can't get that to work any more. It just gives an error buzz when I press Menu. The only way I've found to view/edit is to go in through the Call Log. Anybody got a suggestion?

When uploading images edited & saved through PS CS 5 to sites like Blogger they appear very grey?

Images editied and saved through CS 5 are appearing VERY grey when uploaded to other sites like Blogger. I have never had this issue in my 3 years with the program and have tried everything to my knowledge. Please help!

It's user error.
Make sure your image has been converted to RGB with an sRGB profile before saving as a JPEG and uploading it to the server.
Use Convert to Profile from the Edit Menu. DO NOT use "assign profile".

Problem to Edit DBAdapter through wizards

I have a trouble of using the wizards to edit my DBAdapter. The wizards screens became empty after a few click and the next button was also disable. I also use a new Jdev after throwing out the old one but the result is the same? any idea?

A work-around for this is, editing the xsd/wsdl/top-link mapping through JDev for the DBAdapter.
It might not be easy though, but it does work.
I hv done that a couple times & the changes took effect.
PS : you'll hv restart your JDev for those changes to apply.

PDF documents stored in R/3 and viewed and printed through MSS

Hello,
We are having a requirement to store documents (like performance reviews or resumes) in pdf format in SAP.
The documents need to be visible and printable in MSS.
I started doing some investigation and I know that the business object has to be PREL, and that a document type needs to be chosen.
What I would like to know if there is anybody who has this type of requirements implemented and would like to share his/her experiences?
