Edit Audio with pencil tool not working LP8

I am using Logic Pro 8.0.2. I am trying to edit an audio track in the "sample editor" window to remove a couple of clicks.
-I am highlighting an audio track, and then opening the sample editor
-When I get to the spot that I want to edit - I am dragging the pointer tool over that area to select it
- I am selecting the pencil tool in the sample editor window. When I go over the area that I want to work on and click the mouse, the magnifier turns on instead

I'm running Logic8 on my 3.02 imac xtreme with Waves Mercury plugins with 4gig ram 10.5.5 and I'm trying to node a mac mini 10.4.11.
I'm getting the sync pending dull green on node enable tracks but NO actual node precessing at all
I've tried every conceivable comdination of plugins on trax Waves Non waves a mixture but still NO offload at all
Any ideas??

Zoom with ROI tools not working

Hi
I do have a question regarding the zooming with the ROI-tools. If I aquire (Vision Aquisition2) automatically stored images I would like to change the zoom factor interactively. If I am using the ROI tools
of the displayed image the ROI-tools are not working and seems to be de-activated. How can I activate the zooming-tool during the image aquisition?
Is it possible to have an "image in image"-picture whereby the first image shows 100% and the second image for example only 40%? I assume I could therefore use the IMAQ Wind-library.
With the "IMAQ wind draw" I unfortunately get always a extra window with the zoomed image. How can I avoid this and set the zoomed window directly into the existing first image?

I am not sure if I got your questions right..
Are you saying that you cannot use the ROI tools or zoom tools while you acquire images and display them?
I cannot see how the ROI or zoom tools are deactivated during acquisition. This is not the case on my PC.
If you want to have an image in image then the simplest way is to have a second image display connected to
the same image that you already display. You can resize the new image display to be small and hide the ROI toolbar,
label and scrollbars. It will look somewhat like this:

Pencil Tool not working properly.

Hi, I am trying to draw rope in flash but when I try to use the pencil tool it doesnt draw anything because in the fill and stroke pencil tool properties it is set on transparent as seen in the picture below:
It doesnt let me change the color.
Why is this, and how do we fix this?

The pencil tool uses the stroke color, the one on the left. Right click on that color indicator in the Properties window. The color selector should show up. At the top of the color selector will be an indicator for the density of the selected color. Change that number to 100. Now you should be able to draw with the pencil tool as you expect.

Database mappings with Deploy Tool not working

I am using the deploy tool to deploy a CMP Bean. After I have mapped all columns to the database fields and click on the Save button, all the columns which are mapped to the database fields are gone and as a result the mappings xml file is not generated when i delploy the bean. Is there any solution to this problem or is it that i am making some mistakes with the procedure.

I had this same issue - drove myself bananas for a while.
Its a proceedure issue - you, like I was doing, keep unmapping your cmp beans .
First, capture your schema for your databases using the "capture-schema" command
Add the schema files to your .jar file using the "Edit Contents" button on the "General" Tab.
(Sounded like you got past all this, but I'll put it all here for the use of others)
When you deploy an Entity bean:
You click on "Sun Specific Settings" and select the "CMP Database" tab from pull down.
Heres where it gets you: The "Create Database Mappings"
Every time you add an entity bean to the jar, you were probably selecting the "Create Database Mappings" button to start mapping your entity bean. (I was too). But, doing so Un-maps all of the entity beans you already have in that Jar!!! I drove myself nutts with this, until I figured out where it was happening.
use "Create Database Mappings" only once: for the first Entity bean you put into a jar.
NEVER TOUCH IT AGAIN!!! - It will delete all your entity CMP mappings
After that, when you add additional CMP entity beans, use the "Advanced Settings" button on the same panel. Then select the appropriate schema...and then map your beans.

Converting WordPerfect to PDF with desktop printer tool: Not working

I have been a monthly subscriber to Adobe CreatePDF for many years! I work mainly with Correl WordPerfect, but with the change to the Pack version it is not supported. I downloaded the desktop printer tool; it is installed. However, when I follow instructions and print, I get nothing. Where does the PDF go? What can I do? Please help! I cannot continue to pay monthly if I don't get service.

I have win 7 that much I know. 2. Where can download the hotfix? 3. With adobe createpdf, I didn't need adobe ps printer setup, I don't have a laser printer at home, I have an hp inkjet printer.

Please do following
(A). If your system is Win 7 SP1 then install a hot fix to correct inetpp.dll version at C:\Windows\System32 folder.After installing the hot fix version will be 6.1.7601.21819 from 6.1.7601.17514.
Note please uninstall CreatePDF Desktop printer then reinstall after applying the hot fix
(B). If you have not installed Adobe Postscript driver yet then please install one as below:
How to Install PS printer:
1. Open Start menu > Devices and Printer ( or from control panel) and select "Add a printer"
2. Select "Add a local printer"
3. Select "Use an existing port: LPT1: (Printer port)
4. Select any company and any PS printer with Adobe PS printer driver(not clone) such as Xerox and Xerox Phaser 6120PS

Adobe Reader XI and Adobe Reader X Pro (Editable PDF Combobox Search is not working properly.)

I have created Editable PDF using itext(5.3.0) in java. I have used Adobe Reader XI and Adobe Reader X Pro. But in editable PDF combobox search is not working properly.
It's only search first character.

My (admittedly old and slow) system did this too the first time I opened Reader 11, but it "unfroze" after about fifteen seconds, (an eternity in computing time, I know, but it did eventually open all the way) What you're seeing on the right is the "Tools" panel initializing. That's exactly where mine would freeze up on starting. Once it did finally open fully, I clicked the "Tools" link at the top to close the panel, and I opened and viewed a document that way, then closed reader. Now when I open Reader, the Tools panel doesn't initialize and it opens immediately.
Reboot and before you open anything else, open Reader. When you open it, DO NOT try to do anything with it until it fully opens, don't click anything, don't try to switch to another app. Give it time to open fully, and then click the Tools link to close it. Then, open and view a document, and close it. Close Reader and reopen it. the Tools panel should remain closed and Reader should open fully immediately.

What are the differences.... firmware and build, there were tweaks to the PCIe bus itself. As a result 3rd party cards and booting is better.
Support in 5,1 firmware for more 56xx and W35/36xx processors. Also memory timing.
The 4,1 was "64-bit boot mode optional" and 5,1 was default. I don't know if there are changes but I assume so, even if it is not reflected elsewhere or in version number.
I don't know what the prices are but 2009, to buy one today, when the 2010 is $1800.
The 2008 of course was test bed for 64-bit UEFI and it sure seems even Lion and then ML are not as well engineered - outside of Linc who would be the least likely to have a problem.
I would assume 2010 has better support for 8GB and even 16GB DIMMs as well as for 1333MHz.
Nehalem family had only come out in fall 2008 and a lot of work went into making improvements well past 2009.
If you remember, there were serious heat problems with those and 10.5.7+ up thru 10.6.2 even with iTunes, audio, and hyperthreading and cores hitting and staying in 80*C range. That I assume was both poor code (sleep does not mean poke and ask constantly) as well as changes in SMC and kernel improvements, to work around. Microcode can be patched in firmware, kernel, by drivers and by code, but it is best when the chips and core elements don't need to be.
If someone is stretched, and can get 2009 for $1200 it might be a fine fit. That year offered the OEM GT120 which isn't really as nice and matched for today both OS and apps that rely on a GPU. And for odd reasons two such 120's don't work well in Lion+ but that is probably minor. Having the 5770 is just "nicer" though.
There are some articles about trouble booting with PCIe SATA/SAS/SSD and less trouble with 2010. Also support for graphic card and audio I think was one of those "minor" 5770 related support issues. But shows some small changes were made there too.
I wish someone would come out and pre-announce DDR4 + SATA3 along with PCIe 3.x (for bandwidth and more power per rail) along with say Ivy Bridge-E socket processors was going to be this summer's 3 yr anniversary and to replace the 2010 designed motherboard. But that is what is on Intel's and others drawing boards simmeringn in the pot.

Try a cleaning disc. You can get them at places like Radio Shack.
If nothing helps your optical drive has probably failed. You can replace it or purchase an inexpensive external drive. Don't buy the Apple SuperDrive as it won't work with macs that have a built in drive.

I go to blur a painting i am doing and it does not blur enough and I am using wacom Intuos 5 med pen tablet.
and I even set the tablets sensitivty for pressure lower then default and still not getting the blur tool to do its job.
I even adjusted the brush settings too to be able to blur even more on hard settings, still nothing.
at least it not bluring enough to see any major changes.
the only way i can blur anything is by using the fliters blur or the brushes ( mixer brush ) settings to mix colors and do it that way.
(note) I will not post my systems specs sorry I don't do that and even the tech from adobe said I do not have to. and so I wont !
just need advise not to share system specs.
and thats what this forums board is for getting advice and read what others say about the issue at hand.

It might be your image is too big in terms of pixel dimensions for the blur tool to work well.
If you zoom to 100% do you see any change when using the blur tool?
What are the pixel dimensions of the image?
(Image>Image Size)
If you try a small image, does the blur tool work?
What about when you use the mouse instead of your tablet?
Can you at least tell us what operating system and version of photoshop your using?

Have you tried using the iPod with another user account or computer, to help narrow down whether the problem lies with the computer, account, or the iPod itself?
Maybe try reformatting it, using the tools provided by Windows. Instructions on how to reformat your iPod can be found in this article.
