Edit book marks dialogue box is missing

Hi,
Whenever try to bookmark a page the edit bookmark dialogue box does not pop up anymore, however bookmarking is still possible but only in unsorted way.
So whenever try to put a bookmark directly in toolbar it's not possible any longer.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Blank dialogue boxes and missing text in Tools

Acrobat 10.1.8 - Adobe Creative Suite Standard
A number of dialogue boxes have become blank and fill the whole screen; for example the box that appears when a scan is completed. In addition, when Tools are displayed (and the buttons on the toolbar for Tools are no longer there) the icons appear but not the text.
I am guessing that this is either a font problem - perhaps some fonts used by Acrobat have been deleted - or that I should download the prgoramme and reinstal it. But I cannot find a download site for Acrobat 10. There is no problem with the other programmes in the Creative Suite.
What to do?

Cant edit book mark bar

Went to edit a few of my bookmarks in the bookmark bar but for some reason i cant seem to access anywhere to edit them or re-arrange them.

you can edit/move them direct from the bookmark bar - by dragging them to different places/orders and by ctrl/right clicking & choosing 'edit name' etc etc.
In your screenshot - see the three horizontal lines that form a handle at the bottom/centre ? - Click & drag that upwards, then you should see the individual bookmarks rather than the huge preview.
But... there should, even in that large view, be a scroll bar just above that 'handle', to umm, scroll through the bookmarks you have - so I winder if there's more going on here.
Do you see the same thing in a new user account? If not, first try trashing the file : home/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist for your regular account.

Help please - unable to open missing photos 'browse' dialogue box

Hi All,
new to the forum, but long time LR user.
I have a problem with LR v.3.4.1 I have a few missing photos (quite a few actually) in my catalogue from when I moved hard drives in v1. I jumped from v.1 to v3. But used to be able to find them still.
Now when I click the ? icon the browse dialogue box won't open. Double clicking only switches from thumnail to full size - though there are no index images of these photos.
I've checked the drives, the images still exist. I tried re-iporting the images to see if that would bring them up as duplicates, but the LR finder would not see any images there.
Since switching from v.1 to v.3 I have done quite a few shoots, and I'd be sad (no mortified!) to loose either bit of editing work.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Has anyone experienced text going missing after using Change All in the Find Font dialogue box?

I manage an artwork production studio and two members of staff have separately reported that when using the Change All command to substitute fonts in InDesign's Find Font dialogue box, some text disappears from their documents. All affected text is originally set in the same font, and most of the conversion is fine but a few instances of text are actually removed (not reflowed). In the latest reported case, only four or five instances of text were 'deleted' across two pages of a 20pp document.
I've found a link that refers to the same issue but it's unresolved (http://www.listsearch.com/InDesign/Thread/index.lasso?20041#last)
I haven't been able to replicate this behaviour but would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced it and if so, under what circumstances it can occur, and what work-rounds or fixes are available.
Applies to InDesign CS3 and CS4, have not tested with CS5 because we haven't upgraded yet.

Joel, I am having the same problem you described. I have read of similar posts on PrintPlanet.com. Someone there thought it was a different text engine or something in CS4 which may be causing the problem.
I don't know what causes this but I believe it can be traced to a previously created file in CS3 is saved as a CS4 document.
The fonts associated with this problem for me are always Gill Sans, Palatino and some form of Helvetica. There may be others but these are the ones we notice the most.
Today I worked on an InDesign CS4 file. When I opened it I was given a missing font warning. I went to Find Font and it was different typefaces of Gill Sans that was missing. When I changed the missing font to Gill Sans Regular entire lines of text disappeared. I closed the document without saving it and reopened it. I did the same thing in replacing fonts. This time no text disappeared. Not reflowed; not white; not hidden—gone.
This is what I have been seeing for the past few months. The disappearing text is random and cannot be duplicated, though fonts may disappear in some other place. You never know where text will just disappear.
The workaround I have found is to export your file to an INX document and reopen it in CS3. You have to replace all missing text before saving it as INX, though. To my knowledge CS3 has never had this happen.
The workaround, though it works for me, is annoying. I'd like to know what to do to resolve this issue. What's the use in having CS4 if you can't trust it completely.
I use a Mac running 10.6.3. I also have running Suitcase Fusion 2.

Dialogue box requiring iLife Installer to replace missing files in iWeb?

My Intel iMac crashed the other day when installing a Kensington Trackball. Apple genius diagnosed and did an "archive and reinstall". Oddly, when I try to open iWeb, a dialogue box says ". certain files missing-install iLife installer". IPhoto won't respond at all. Itunes okay. Also my Adobe Photoshop (only) in my CS2 suite won't open. It seems all other apps are okay. Any idea where I find an "iLife installer"? I did try reinstalling the "bundled software only" package on the original discs with no difference.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The archive and install removes critical files that those applications put in the system folders and are needed to run. The Photoshop missing item is a folder titled StartupScripts that is located in the HD/Library/Application Support folder.
Those for the iLife apps are more varied and it's best to reinstall them from the disk they came on. *Before installing be sure to delete any file with the name of the application you're installing that is in the HD/Library/Receipts folder* (they may be removed in the Archive and Install).
If you don't have a backup (i.e. Time Machine) of the StartupScripts folder you will have to reinstall Photoshop.

Issue with missing links dialogue box

When I open up an InDesign document that I've been working on recently several times a dialogue box has opened up asking to update missing links - all the links to image files are on an external drive connected to my Mac and none of them have been updated or altered in anyway or moved, all the links are correct and in place when the document was saved yesterday evening on my Mac's desktop so has anyone any idea why this message comes up? It doesn't happen every day but has happened quite a number of days, the list of links that need updating varies as well from as low as say 9 up to 248 which is nearly all the images in the document and it's a bit of a pain having to go through the document turning clipping paths off then back on so the images display correctly again!
Whilst other people can and do access the external drive to access the image for their own documents they haven't changed or altered the images so there's no reason for them to show up as missing in InDesign, the external isn't turned off at night or during the day or unmounted at all either. The file was originally a Quark file converted into an InDesign one via Markzware's software, that apart I can't think of any reason why this message appears often? Anyone any ideas about it?

anyone got any other ideas about why some of the picture links are being listed as modified? It's an exceptionally annoying quirk, for the last 7 days the links on a 40 page catalogue the links were all fine, this morning however on opening the document it listed over 100 of the images as modified when nothing has been done to them.
When I actually update the picture links in the links palette, in the details panel for the picture the modification date does not change after updating the links, it's the date that it was placed that does change - not sure if this will be of any help in trying to solve whatever's causing this issue, as mentioned above it's exceptionally irritating that it happens and is something that's putting other people off using InDesign over Quark as Quark doesn't seem to suffer this problem, and it would be worse if it happened on some of the other catalogues we do as they're 80 - 100 pages in size!

You are right that not all metadata is shown in the Finder info but in my case the once added in IPTC core do show as expected for most file types (but not CR2 raw). As you now I convert my CR2 to DNG for a long time now I had to look up the original Raw file and create the data for description, location, keywords again. The data you can add and alter yourself in the IPTC Core field. I added a series of screenshots showing different info and to my surprise (another reason to keep to DNG…) the Raw file had very less info and the xmp shows it all in a rather long and obscure way. Yet PSD, DNG and File info in PS show the same.
Could not recreate the Bridge metadata workspace from the OP because mine (Bridge CC) does not have the description field as an option anymore for some obscure reason. Also checked this in my CS6 version with same result, making the metadata workspace unusable but that was it already for a long time.
Still leaves us with the problem the OP showed, having all info in most files, as in Finder info, but not in Bridge. So could the OP respond to the purge cache for selection option in post 4?

No dialogue box for LR4 to CS5 editing

We get the dialogue box on our laptop, but not on our tower. This is with LR4.3, using the Photo>Edit In path to open a RAW file in CS5. We have installed the Adobe Camera Raw 6.5. Both computers are running the same versions of each software, but I don't get the dialogue box on the tower which ask to Edit a Copy which preserves the changes made in LR4.

It's possible that you checked the box to tell Lightroom not to ask you again. When you do that Lightroom will always honor the choice that you made at the time that you did check the box. If you want that warning back, go to the preferences and reset all warnings.

Render using LR or open anyway dialogue box missing

I have LR5.3 and PS CS6 everything is currently up to date.
Up till today I would do my basic edits in LR then right click>edit in> edit in adobe photoshop CS6 and a dialogue box would open up asking me 'Render using lightroom' 'open anyway' then it would open in PS CS6 as a .psd file where I could then edit more dramatically, go to file>save and the changes would then show back up in LR5
For some reason today none of this is happening, I do my basic edits, same proceedure to open in PS CS6 and no dialogue box opens the file just opens straight into PS as a .NEF file.

My files won't open in photoshop as .psd anymore though? I will have to do save as and select .psd otherwise it will override the original raw file? I just want to make sure so I don't do soemthing I shouldn't. I also won't have multiple stacked images in LR either?

Choose system preferences, then under 'Personal' choose 'Universal Access''
You will see a checkbox called 'Voice Over'' (under the seeing tab). Switch this to off.

Edit the INITIAL values in Layer...Layer Styles...Drop Shadow dialogue box

How can I edit the values in Layer...Layer Styles...Drop Shadow dialogue box so that values that appear when I FIRST OPEN the box are the values I use commonly?
For example, once I open the dialogue box, the Blend Mode is always "Multiply" and the Angle is always "120". I always use "Normal" and "45". Is there a place where I can make my default values "Normal" and "45"?

Which version of photoshop are you using?
Newer versions of photoshop have a Make Default button at the bottom of the dialog.

I had the same problem. It turned out the issue for me was that I had Automatic downloads turned off on my devices!
see below how to turn it on.
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your device.
Tap Sign In if you're not already signed in to the iTunes Store.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Tap On/Off switch to enable or disable Automatic Downloads for each content type.

Recordset dialogue box missing

For some reason I am no longer able to open a recordset
dialogue box from D8.0.2. Has anyone else run into this problem and

Yesterday i just reinstal the dreamweaver and it is solve the problem. But today it is happen again, checkbox "Show the dialogue box with insert object" is pressed but it does not work again. Somebody know how to solve this problem?
