Edit, Crop, Custom Select Everybloody time???

I must be missing something but in the last version of iPhoto I would double click a series of pics then hit edit. I would crop the pic to a custom size then click the arrow to save and go to the next pic to crop etc...
Now I have to hit the crop button everytime and everytime I have to pull down the menu to find custom then edit to my crop then hit the arrow for the next.
It then goes out of crop so I have to hit crop again and then pull down the custom again...
There must be a way to have it go to custom crop everytime I want to edit a large set of pics.
If not how can I go back to the last version of iPhoto?

You don't have to click on the Crop button each time. Just hit the "c" key. This video shows how quickly multiple crops of the same ratio can be accomplished. What you can see is the "c" key selected after the forward arrow key is selected.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance. iPhoto doesn't not have to be closed to run it, just idle.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. How to Edit a custom HCM form directly after Employee selection?

Hi All,
As per the requirement, the Manager should have a tab in Portal called "Forms and Processess" and on click of that he should see a Page with few hyperlinks . Each hyperlink is the name of a HCM Form.
So, the Manager will click on one of them to start a particular form. ex. One time payment
After clicking, he should have the Employee search result having Direct reports under STEP "Select Employees".. But the next STEP has to be "Edit" instead of "Select Process" and the Form "One time payment" should directly Open for him to work on.
Please help me providing the relevant information and the approach. Let me know if you need any additional information.

we do have selection of employees or search and you can choose a form?
If you want to change it, then only option is WD ABAP Iviews custom
But i still didnt fathom the need of teh approach above, does the standard doesnt meet the requurement? Please check it

JTable custom selection and mouse drag events

I am currently experiencing a problem when using a JTable and a custom selection. I have made a small example to demonstrate the probem. Selection works for this example by listening for when the user clicks or clicks and drags (button held down) and moves the mouse across cells in the table. For each MouseEvent received in the MouseMotionListener mouseDragged method I store the coordinates of that cell at the point of the mouse and render the cell at those coordinates with a line border allowing a more versatile cell selection. The problem that occurs is when you click+drag and move the mouse fast, it looks MouseEvents are created every x milliseconds so when you move fast there isn't a MouseEvent raised for each cell in the click+drag from A -> B. If you run the following example then click and hold down the mouse button and move fast downwards from the top of the table to the bottom you can see that not all the cells are selected vertically.
Is there someway of increasing the mouse poll (if this is indeed the problem) during the click+drag or a better solution to this problem that any one knows!?

AFAIK the mouse polling rate is OS dependent (being interrupt driven), and may even be affected by processor load. What you could do is store the mouse location (Point) of the last mouseDragged event, and compute a line to the current location, then use some coordinate geometry to identify any intervening cells which are presently being skipped.

Bridge 2.1.1.9 stopped showing ACR edits/crops in thumb and preview

Bridge has started having a new problem, intermittently but frequently, in that it will not consistently show the ACR edits when it displays thumbnails or previews.
Specific example I am looking at now. Raw Nikon D300 NEF, open in ACR, crop and adjust various settings, hit "DONE". Return to bridge, and after a couple seconds it shows the edits. All as expected.
A few minutes (or seconds or hours) later, the edits disappear from bridge, from either the preview, the thumbnail, or (usually) both, and the display reverts to the original NEF.
If I open it again in ACR the edits are there, remembered, correct.
Stranger still, if I scroll the thumbnails so that the selected image is not visible, then scroll back, for about 2 seconds the correct edited, cropped thumbnail appears, then it flicks back to the unedited NEF. the preview does not change (and is wrong).
I have cleared this cache, cleared the entire cache - no impact. I have deleted the XMP and started over, it works for a bit, then may come back, or moves to some other picture (some are working correctly, some not).
It DOES show the little crop/edit symbol above the thumbnail, it is just not using it.
And it is not consistent, I have two shots in the same directory. One is showing a correct thumbnail and when I click on it then un-corrected preview. One is showing neither one correct.
Even weirder, the one with the incorrect preview, if I use the magnifier, it shows the correct version (i.e. post ACR) while the unmagnified version is the original NEF.
I've tried high-quality preview, and not.
I've tried software rendering and not.
I have rebooted and checked and all updates are applied.
This has just started happening, I have hundreds of prior D300 shots that worked fine, just the last couple of days. And it works fine for SOME shots now, just not all (I'd say about 50/50 of new shots). Except so far I have not seen it happen for any prior NEF's, just the ones I have downloaded in the last few days. And I have updated nothing on the system, at least not knowingly (Adobe stuff sometimes updates automatically, but I noticed nothing).
Any ideas?

Stacy, I have found from experence that sometimes we are not seeing the same things, or understanding the same words. So don't intend to put down your skills but try this and see if we are on the same page. I don't have CS4, just CS3 so my pictue may be a little different. Am using NEF from Dx40 camera.
When image opened in ACR with double click, or right click, across the bottom of the ACR screen I have the following options; save image, open image, cancel, done, no OK option.
Doing edits and clicking Done saves the edits. Save image has option to save in different formats.
Copy one of your NEF images to a test folder. Then go to Edit/develop settings/ clear settings. This will delete all edits. Delete the XMP file. Then do an drastic edit in ACR, like changing exposrue to make it very dark, click Done.
When you go back to bridge and click on NEF image the Preview Panel should show the edits. I can not see edits in my thumb as I use Quick thumbnails.
Waht do you see in preview window? The original or an edited NEF? Do you have a circle symbool in the upper right hand corner of thumb indicating an edit?

I'm having a similar problem, but only with jpg's. I have PS CS6, CC, and CC 2014. Other image file formats function normally with regard to the "open with" list. PS CC 2014 appears on the list. But with jpg's only PS CC appears on the "open with" list and 2014 can't be added by the browsing for it.
The curious thing is that if I have any of the three versions of Photoshop open, click on Photoshop CC in the "open with" list, the image opens in whatever version is already open on my computer. This is true of all image formats. No matter which version I pick from the "open with" list it opens in the currently running program. I use only the latest version so keeping it open all the time is an easy work around. I won't uninstall any of the earlier versions lest more file association quirks result. it would be nice to have this matter fixed.

Is it possible to edit a custom form created in SPD 2010 in Infopath 2010

I created a custom form in SPD, and need to use Infopath to further modify the form using features not available in SPD. But I can't get Infopath to open the custom form. Even if I selected the custom form in SPD and then click "Edit with Infopath"
in the ribbon, it still opens the default form. From list ribbon, it also always opens the default form, there is no way I can pick the form I want to edit.
Just want to confirm - Infopath can only edit default form (from SPD or the list ribbon), but not any form custom built in SPD.

It is impossible to edit a custom form created in SPD 2010 in Infopath 2010.

DB Adapter Custom Select SQL with Timestamps

I am facing an issue with the DB Adapter Custom select sql: here is my scenario:
I am trying to select diff records from the database between user input start time & the sysdate. for this i am trying to use Execute Pure SQL option database adapter.
I am framing the SQL as below:
select * from tablename1,tablename2 where tablename1.id = tablename1.id and column1 like #userinput1 and tablename1.request_timestamp between to_date(#Userinput_requestTime) and sysdate
My question is whether the query
tablename1.request_timestamp between to_date(#Userinput_requestTime) and sysdate
is correct or not? I even given a try to_date(#Userinput_requestTime,'DD-MON-YY HH24:mi:ss') and sysdate
that too not worked ,
I have created OSB business service using the generated adapter and the input i am giving it as '04-MAR-15 03.36.23.368179000 PM -06:00' and the input is of type xs:string .
i am getting errors like java.sql.SQLDataException: ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string
Whether my custom sql is correct or not ? please help me in resolving this issue.

is timestamp then you need to compare as
timestamp beetween timestamp and timestamp
so convert date to timestamp by CAST as example

Database DLL error on editing the record selection formula?

Hi All,I recently edited the record selection formula of an old report and since then the report is issuing me an "Error detected by database DLL" error.The report was running fine earlier and still continues to run fine if I undo the changes. Earlier, the records were selected based on a 'date' field and I edited the formula to select records based on another date field, but the report doesn't work.The report runs fine on my local PC using Crystal Reports, but web based reporting fails with the error message. The data is selected from a view and the date parameters I talked about are the fields in the same view.This view has around five date parameters and the report runs fine for all of them, except one date field.Any pointers are appreciated.Crystal reports version is 8.5. Ah, yes, the good old generic date error.
The problem is likely an invalid date value in one (or all) of your records with that field. You don't say what database engine you are connected to or which driver you are using for the report, but I'll give you some "pointers".
Basically, the SQL fetch has encountered an error in your date field and the driver you are using in the report can't handle it.
A null date could cause that problem. Also a date-time field with an invalid value or truncated time value. A robust ODBC driver, like one of the Microsoft drivers might be able to overcome it. Likewise, vendors frequently release updated drivers to improve error handling just like this.
1. Analyze your data, specifically the contents of the "new" date field you are using for some kind of invalid date.
2. Experiment with different ODBC drivers by creating alternate ODBC connections to the same database using different ODBC drivers.
3. Browse and experiment with options in Crystal Reports Properties that allow you to specify data conversions for NULLs and Dates.

ABAP Query - SQ02 and SQ01 - custom selection criteria

I am on 46C. In my infoset I need to define three custom fields for selections. I am able to do that. Once I create my query these appear on the selection screen. So far so good.
1. I need to use these custom selection fields as selection criteria for the tables in the join. How do I do that ?
2. If I need to default some values for these selection criteria, I can do that in the definition. However I need the values to be greyed out to prevent the user from editing the values entered. How do I do that ?

1. I see that the standard variant assigned at the query level in SQ01. actually protects the selection field. There is no coding to make it only display. This answers part 2 of my question.
2. I am positive that the additional SELECTION that was created is being used in the main join that retrieves data in the query (in addition to being used for other things). I am not sure why somebody would define it that way instead of just creating a regular selection field in SQ01. Could it be because there is custom coding present for additional fields and there is reference to the selection variables needed for the additional field ?
How does one make this additional SELECTION also a criteria on the join ? I have attached the actual join Query generates - WRK, VKO and VTW are additional selection criteria.
FYI - this is an existing query, that I need to enhance

crop to any square ratio (1x1 -- 1920x1920 -- any square) and then export the photo using a custom size with the maximum dimension of 1920 - cropping is actually by default just a ratio not a size - the size is set during export

How to custom select minimum amount of addons and plugins to load with Firefox browser?

Hello, I am using latest Firefox 24.0 along with Window xp service pack 3, with approx 1 1/2 Gb memory along with Firemin Plugin to keep Firefox Memory up. I will hopefully be upgrading my PC by early next year.
However even when using Firemin along with Firefox, many times regular Firefox is bloated, and still uses too much memory, so, many times I have to open Firefox in Safe Mode, just to be lighter.
Is there any way to open Full Version of Firefox, in a Custom select mode, where I can have set just the minimum Addons and plugins actually needed at the time, without having to go thru and disable the ones do not need? I wish I could use Firefox in safe mode all the time, because is so much lighter, but sometimes I just need the full feature version. Please advise, and thanks for your help!

Selecting type time

Hi experts,
I need to create a report, in the query designer or in the web, that must to allow to select the time type (daily, weekly, monthly, quaterly, annually), that is, in the variable screen if I select daily, the report is daily; or I select weekly, then the report must aggregate for week. Can anyonu help me, please?

For solution one:
- Create a query with year in the query and all the other time characteristics in the free characteristics
- save and execute
- now swap year with month in the query
- go to save and select "save as local view"
- repeat for all time variations you want.
--> once you have this go to your Web application Designer
Create a new template with a eg a table and the web item "query viewselection", hook them up to the same dataprovider (pointing to the query you just made).
Now if you run this you will get the report on annual level in your table and you can change views from the dropdown to all other time views.

Getting NullPointerException in ADF form using Custom Selection Listener

I am getting NullPointerException from getRowKey() in GenericTableSelectionHandler.java while pressing "Page Down" key or continuous pressing of "Down Arrow" key in Read Only ADF form (Query, Sort Enabled) using Custom Selection Listener.

How do you edit out the date and time stamp from a photo

You can blur it out with retouch
The built-in "Retouch" brush in "Edit" mode should suffice, if the background is mostly uniform, and if you set the size of the brush to slightly wider than the bar width of the letters. For example, in this picture I removed the year from the date (in the lower right corner) by using the "retouch" brush and following the contours of the letters. (the screen shot is from iPhoto '11, but iPhoto 9 should give similar results).
