Edit Date bug in Lightroom 5?

When I create a smart collection with "Edit Date is Today" in LR5, I get my entire library as a result. The same in LR4 returns the expected results.
Is this broken in LR5?

I just tried it - edit dates are logged as numerical values (in seconds), but you may be able to glean something from it.
In my case, it hangs before finishing the whole catalog - still, you only need so many photos to discern a pattern..

Bug in Lightroom 3 - Folder Browsing Selecting Incorrect Text Case

I seem to have stumbled upon a bug in Lightroom 3. I was at first wondering why, when I had Auto Import enabled, no images were appearing in the Lightroom Catalog, even though they were being copied to the _Inbox folder which I created on my QNAP NAS to contain them. However, after the import had finished, I would Sync the folder and there they were.
This was very confusing until today, when I noticed a seemingly identical folder in the Folder dialog shown in the first image. This one *was* receiving the Auto-Imported files as well, except that this one was updating the Lightroom catalog correctly.
What is the difference between them? The second (working) Auto Import folder has the folder 'files' in lower case. This causes Lightroom to see them as different. Presumably this is for Unix support. This is logical. The QNAP NAS device is Linux based after all.
However, when I tried to correct the folder path entry in the auto-import dialog, it displays the 'files' folder in the wrong case (lower) even though both the QNAP folder browser and Windows Explorer display it with initcaps as 'Files'. See other images below demonstrating this.
So I'm stuck. As the Lightroom Auto-Import folder browser displays the folder in the wrong case, Lightroom will always see this folder as two different folders, even though they're the same. I can't rename the folder in lower case, or I risk losing all the Lightroom edits I've carried out against thousands of images in the folder named as 'Files'. Anyway, I *WANT* it named in upper case - this is an Adobe bug, not a QNAP or Windows bug.

It looks like I've finally solved this problem, but I suspect I did so the hard way ... if I even understand where in the process things were fixed. As previously posted, when I tried to "move" one folder in LR into the other, LR got confused and deleted the entire contents of one of them! This was the existing one I had been using. Thousands of photos gone! I searched the hard drive and even used disk recovery software but, no, they had vanished. I luckily retrieved these photos from a backup drive, so that's good, but it makes one nervous to fiddle around with this particular problem.
Anyway, BEFORE I imported the new photos from the back-up drive, I first deleted LR prefs and in the process stumbled upon old LR prefs from LR2 and LR3 Beta. Cleaned them all out -- including LR prefs -- and wondered if that had anything to do with the problem. Then rather than Import>Copy the photos, I worked at the Finder level and copied them into position in the <2010> folder, retaining the month and date folder structure. This is at the Finder level. Then in LR, I used Import>Add and the photos properly were added to the existing <2010> folder (the newer of the two that was still there after the disaster ... the new one that LR is intent on importing into). It all works now.

The DATA BUG of OVI 3.03 on E72, disgusting!

Nearly at the same time at the afternoon today - 25 Jan. Many of the users of E72 found their New OVI Maps occured a serious problem. When they open the icon "My place" in GPS, the program halt and no response at all. Many of them think maybe it just be a problem of their own E72 or due to some collisions of the software they installed and even formate the phone or reinstall the OVI maps many times. But as I confrim on some forums,I make sure that this is a BUG of the software.
First of all, I should declare the OVI maps and software I installed on my E72 were all download form official website maps.nokia.com and with newest verison.
The Symptom is:
1. when you open OVI maps and click the "my place" icon the program halt unless you shutdown the program in task manager or restart the phone. But if you click the "search" first only once, then all the functions will be ok.
2. If you change the date to 24 Jan or 26 Jan, every thing is OK. And if you change the date to 15, 25 of anyother months if only the date contain "5", the problem will happen again.
From this symptom, I can sure it is a DATE BUG of new OVI maps. I just CAN NOT believe NOKIA could made this stupid mistake. I hope NOKIA could fix it or update the software ASAP.

We think we know the cause of this issue to be the welcome note localised to Latvian.
From what we can tell from your firmware version, you are running a latvian varient. We are aware (and have fixed for the next release) that the welcome note, translated to latvian, was causing the application to crash.
To work around this until the release is made available, please do the following:
Change the device language, for example to English, and restart the Maps application. Once the application is started, you should then be able to exit the application, revert the language back to Latvian, and restart the Maps application without it Crashing.
Please let me know if this resolves your issue.

Wrong results using the SUM in XPATH- Edit data

I have a problem when try to do a sum operation using the XPATH function on a set of decimal values:
To explain it simple, a Service script(also have tried in BPA) which has a edit data step as below

Our setup is very straight forward. We are using a generic M-Series board to generate the stimulus signal as follows:
Output frequency for x-number of cycles - measure gain/phase response.
To sample the response, we are using an S-Series board. All of it is done using DAQmx drivers, which again, I don't think makes any difference, since we are experiencing the same problems with a 'pure' software simulation.
Our unit under test is comprised of a resistor and a capacitor, which represents a simple low pass filter with predictable gain/phase response.
It appears to us that the erratic phase response at higher frequencies is a result of 1pi versus 2pi phase wrap or flip, which may not be handled correctly by the lock-in tool kit.
We were thinking of "unwrapping" the phase, but I wanted to find an explanation for this behaviour first, to ensure that we are not dealing with a software bug.
Also, where can we find the unwrap phase.vi?

LR3 - Cannot edit in Photoshop CS4 ("Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments")

Having just purchased LR3, it seems that when I select "Edit a copy with Lightroom Adjustments", that the LR adjustments aren't being carried across into CS4. I am only given the original file in PS.
Is this a known bug?

I don't know. I haven't seen a bug (assuming it is indeed a bug, and not an operator error) like this is mentioned here in the forums.
This issue is going to affect my business in a major way.
If this is so critical to your business, you can use a workaround meanwhile.
Use the regular export command with the following options:
File type: PSD/TIFF; other relevant filetype options.
Location: same as original photo.
Add to this catalog: checked. Stack with original: as needed.
Post-processing: open in Photoshop.
Save this as an Export presets and invoke it from the File->Export with Preset from the menu.
The end result is the same as Edit in Photoshop.

Edit Date updated for whole catalog (how to view edit date?)

I suddenly found out that my publish service that exports newly edited photos suddenly contained all my photos, and I have no idea how that happened. It seems the Edit Date has been changed, but I can not find any way to view the date, so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly when it happened.
So - two questions:
How could that happen? I have not made any mass updates and not changed the development version either
How to view the Edit Date?

Well, a good guess would be: something is getting (or did get) changed.
If its not a plugin, then its something else (at the risk of stating the obvious...)
ChangeManager can provide a detailed list of all develop settings and metadata changes between any two states of a photo, so if its develop settings or metadata that's changing, then you can see exactly what.
Some kinds of changes ChangeManager can not detail - if the changes are falling in the "mystery" class, at least you'd have it narrowed down... - may be worth trying...
PS - Have you checked Metadata Status Date in the library panel - thats the closest thing I know of to the edit-date that is exposed by the Lightroom UI - you cant filter or collect on it, but you can at least view it.

Can not edit data labels in old graph chart objects using Word 2010

In Word 2010, Insert object "Microsoft Graph Chart", go to Chart Options and check an item in Data labels, such as "Series Name", "Category Name" or "Value". Click OK, then double-click on a data label to edit its
settings, or right-click on a data label and select "Format Data Labels..."
This makes Word to crash. The only way I can get out of it is by using the Task Manager to kill Word.
This happens in Windows 7 and Windows 8. This does NOT not happen in Word 2007 nor Word 2013, so it seems specific to Word 2010. All our clients have the same problem, this does not seem related to a specific workstation configuration.
The Microsoft Graph Chart are the old charts used within .doc files. I have an application still generating those types of files and need to edit data label settings manually before processing the files with my application.
Also note that anytime you edit a .doc file in Word 2010 and you see "Compatibility Mode" in the title bar, the Insert / Chart option from the ribbon inserts an old type chart (same as if you use Insert / Object / Microsoft Graph Chart), not the
new Word 2010 charts. You then have the same problem editing the data labels.
The underlying Activex seems to be the Chart.Exe file, the one I have installed is 14.0.7012.1000. You can see the version by double-clicking the chart and then look in the Help / About menu.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can't Edit Data in Access 2013 Web App

I have an Office 365 P1 account that I have been using to create apps in Access 2010. I tried Access 2013. But when I launch an app, it loads in my Office 365, but editing data is not enabled (the Add and Edit buttons are displayed, but not enabled).
I have tried creating a new custom web app with one simple table and a view, as well as creating one using a Microsoft pre-built template, and simply creating the app and launching it. In both cases, the app displays, but I cannot add or edit data.
Is there something with my Office 365 account that is limiting my ability to work with Access 2013 web apps?

What the file format is your Access 2007 file? MDB or ACCDB?
Where do you want to add the columns? Table, form or query?
As far as I know,
the limitation of columns in a table is 250. Thus, I suppose that the database had some hidden columns. Please try to check it. Steps:
Right-click any field title, then select Unhide Fields. A dialog box will appear. Click the check boxes of any fields you would like to be visible again, then click Close.

Here's how to do ALV (OO) with dynamic fcat, int table and editable data

Hi everybody
Here's a more useful approach to ALV grid with OO using dynamic table, data NOT from DDIC, dynamic FCAT and how to get changed lines from the grid when ENTER key is pressed.
It's really not too dificult but I think this is more useful than the ever present SFLIGHT methods from the demos.
This also defines a subclass of cl_gui_alv_grid so you can access the protected attributes / methods of that class.
You don't need to add the class via SE24 -- done fron this ABAP.
When you run it click Edit for the first time.
After editing data press ENTER and the break point should bring you into the relevant method.
Code developed on NW2004S trial version but also works on rel 6.40 on a "Real" system.
The code should work without any changes on any system >=6.40.
All you need to do is to create a blank screen 100 via SE51 with a custom container on it called CCONTAINER1.
The rest of the code can just be uploaded into your system using the SE38 upload facility.
When running the program click on the EDIT button to enable the edit functionality of the grid.
Change your data and when you press ENTER you should get the break-point where you can see the original table and changed rows.
This program is actually quite general as it covers Dynamic tables, building a dynamic fcat where your table fields are NOT in the DDIC, intercepting the ENTER key via using an event, and accessing the protected attributes of the cl_gui_alv_grid by defining a subclass of this class in the abap.
I've seen various questions relating to all these functions but none in my view ever answers the questions in a simple manner. I hope this simple program will answer all these and show how using OO ALV is actually quite easy and people shouldn't be scared of using OO.

Editable data in excel view of alv grid

now i am displaying the data in alv grid..
my requirement is i want to display the data in excel format.. (not in seperate excel..)
i want to display the excel sheet with data within the screen itself.
for this
i tried this scenario by fallowing steps
in layout->view tab->microsoft excel..
(layout button in the application toolbar i.e pf-status)
it show excel sheet within report and data with excel sheet.
now i got data in excel sheet.
but my requirement is if i made any changes in data in excel means
i want those updated or edited data in the another internal table..
this scenario is work in the case of abap list viewer (instead of microsoft excel)
for this i use one button in the pf-status (UPDATE).
after made changes in grid data i export those modified data to abap memory and download to another internal table..
how can i get the same scenario in micosoft excel

Problems with Edit Data in Analyzer 5.0.3

When trying to use "Edit a copy with Lightroom Adjustements" from Lightroom, Photoshop opens but no photo is displayed.

I can see from searching online that this is a regular question but I have not yet seen a solution.
I am running Lightroom 5.4 and Photoshop CC 14.2.1, both kept updated via the monthly subscription, on a 2013 MacMini running OSX 10.9.3
Starting with jpg's:
If I try "Edit a copy with Lightroom Adjustements" - Photoshop opens but no photo displayed in PS
If "Edit a Copy" or "Edit Original" then Photoshop displayes the file OK
If I am using Canon Raw files (.CR2) from my Canon 70D, then AS EXPECTED Lightroom starts Photoshop with the intervening dialog box about opening a copy or original but again just a blank screen and no photo displayed.
Has anybody found a solution yet?

I dont have 3.6. but I installed lightroom 4 and the function worked fine. But i didnt like the version 4, as it consumes a lot of resources.
I can open raw files without any problem.
And this function had been working before and suddenly this stopped working. I didnt do any setttings changes even.
Really appreciate your help on this.

Because I listened to Adobe earlier today about whither uninstalling Elements would affect Photoshop and Lightroom on my computer, Lightroom no longer sees Photoshop in the EDIT IN Menu of Lightroom. I found an article on the help site saying to delete the filecom.adobe.Photoshop.plist, which I looked for, its not there so it can't be deleted. The next step is to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall. This isn't an option because of all the plug-ins and modifications of the work space. Does any one have a better solution?

Cant write/edit data on my external hard disk! Help please!~~

Okay guys, currently, i'm using Tiger version 10.4.11. My problem is that i cant edit data or write data to any external hard disks, like the maxtor One Touch and so on. Only thing i can do is to extract the data from the disks. I have tried to write on multiple hard disks but in all my attempts i have failed. i've tried to edit my network settings, but no results.
So, i seek help from anyone out here!

Basically, its a shared hard disk between my macbook and a windows PC. So i kinda use the PC to write all my backups and data on the hard disk.
I have quite a few hard disk and they all have the same issue. It says 'The item 'file x'cannot be moved because 'my hard disk' cannot be modified.'I've used the software provided from the hard disk manufacturer, Maxtor/Seagate, to reformat the brand new portable hard disk which i bought yesterday.
Its connected via USB, same as all the other ones i have.

how to export the text edit data to excel file without splitting the data in excel file?
I have a requirement in SAP HR where in the appraiser can add comments in the area given and can export that to excel file. Currently the file is getting exported but the comments getting split into deifferent rows.
I want the entire comment to be fit in one row.
Please help.

Hi,
if your text edit value is stored in 'lv_string' variable.
then before exporting the value to excel you have to remove CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE
that is '#' from the variable lv_string.
for that use code some thing like this.
REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE in lv_string WITH space.
I think this will do the trick.
