Edit-Fill option Freezes PS CS-5

I'm having a weird problem that just started in PS CS5 (64bit) on my Windows 7 machine. When I'm editing an image and select the "Edit" and then the "Fill" option, my cursor turns into an eyedropper and the program freezes up! The eyedropper actually functions properly, but I can't get any other response from the program. I have to force-quit it every time. I've tried all different combos of loading different images from different sources, re-booted the machine, etc., but this is an absolutely persistent and consistent problem! Has anyone else ever experienced this?

It might help if you were a bit more specific, e.g., ''I chose Help - Updates, and this happened, then that happened, then an error message that stated 'xxxxxx' was displayed''.
It could also help others help you if you'd describe your system - what kind of hardware, what operating system, etc. One good way to do that is to choose Help - System Info in Photoshop, then copy and paste the info into a post here.

This is probably happening because the report/input schedules is not getting connected. Please check the connections once.
Also if you had named the report in "Edit Report" earlier, say for example "Sales Report", once the report is open you should be able to see this name on the EPM context pane, right side under Current Report: Connected to "Your Model" and below that in the drop down the default selection should be "Sales Report". This means that the report is connected and the Edit Report option is active.

Edit/Fill not an option in PSE 4.0??

I have been working on a turorial in Jay Arraich's Photoshop Elements tips

I have created a new file and placed a circle in the image with the circle the active selection. The next step is to select Edit/Fill but Fill is not an option under Edit on my PSE 4.0. I found two other ways to fill the selection (the paint brush or Edit/Fill Selection). The latter works but does not come up with the same dialog box shown in the tutorial. The dialog box in the tutorial appears to be more helpful that the one I get.
Is this something that was available in PSE 2.0 which is the version the tutorial was prepared for, but not 4.0??

When they brought out newer versions of Elements .. they just changed the wording from from Fill to Fill Selection ... it does the same thing. They also changed the pop up menu a little ... but again it does the same thing ...

Where is 'Picture Frames' in Edit/Fill? It is not offered on my copy of PS CC 14.2.2 on Windows 7.

Fade Fill option doesn't show in Photoshop CS6

Why do I not get the option to "fade fill" when I use the ALT/Backspace keyboard shortcut to fill a layer. If I use the menu option Edit/Fill.. to perform the fill I am given the option to "fade fill"

Tried resetting preferences, still doesnt work. Here is exactly what I am doing
Make Selection in layer
press CNTL/J to make a new layer with that selection ( new layer is now selected)
press ALT/BACKSPACE to fill new layer
go to EDIT menu - Fill is grayed out
If instead of Alt/Backspace keyboard shortcut I use the Edit/Fill menu option - Fill is not grayed out -
almost seems like the fill dialog needs to pop up (which is does not when using Alt/Backspace) for the "fade fill" option to appear not grayed out
Maybe its unique to my installation if you are not seeing the same behavior - not sure?

Photoshop CS 6 photomerge panorama NO AUTOMATIC FILLING OPTION?

Hello,
I use to work with PSElements 11 but now consider changing to CS6 since PSE11 photomerge does only use maximum of 3GB memory, means I can not merge more than maximum 3 pictures at the time.
I tried CS6 which , however, does it properly.
But it does not seem to have the AUTOMATIC FILLING OPTION PS11 constist of.
Is this true or do I have to use certain settings?

Photoshop cs6 doesn't have the automatic fill when doing panos as pse 11 does, but really that's a good thing, since you have much more control in photoshop of
the process.
Try something like this:
1. After the photomerge completes press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E (Shift+Cmd+Option+E mac) to merge the pano into a new layer at the top of the layer stack.
2. Ctrl (Cmd) click on that layers thumbnail in the layers panel to load a selection of the transparency
3. Press Ctrl+I (Cmd+I) to inverse the selection (Select>Inverse)
4. Go to Selecte>Modify>Expand and enter a value between 5 and 10 px
(You may need to expand more or less depending on the size of the pano)
5. Go to Edit>Fill and choose Content Aware
6. Then go to Select>Deselect or press Ctrl+D (Cmd+D)
That's basically what the edge fill in pse 11 does for panoramas.

Lightroom - 'edit in' option no longer working

I have LR version 5.7 and Elements 12.1. I am running a Mac with OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. When using LR the 'edit in' option used to start up Elements automatically. It no longer does this. I have checked the preferences are set correctly in LR. I have deleted the plist files in the library for both LR and Elements and reopened both programmes to re-establish new plist files but all to no avail. Can anyone help please?LR

Hi, I followed these instructions, see link below, and reset my LR preferences, and now the "edit-in" PS is working again. At least it did for two files so far. Hopefully this will be the fix. You should try it too.

"Edit Report" option getting disabled on saving the report in BPC 10.0

I have created input schedules using "Edit Report" functionality in BPC 10.0 NW, added a few buttons and corresponding VB code and tested the input schedule by sending data and running data manager package. Everything is working fine. After that I saved the input schedule and closed the Excel. On reopening the excel Add-in and the input schdule, the "Edit report" option becomes disabled and refresh and other functionalities available for the report get disabled. I have faced this issue a couple of times. Has anybody else faced this issue? Can someone let me know the resolution to this problem?

"Edit in" option missing after upgrading to Adobe Lightroom 5.5

Now when I right click on an image in lightroom I'm unable to see the 'edit in' option. I have manually added Photoshop CC (2014) to the external editor. This hasn't changed anything.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Have a solution?

Edit/Fill button not hightlighted

I'm working on a doument with several layers and would like to remove some text from the background. Ideally I'd use Edit- Fill but the Fill button is not highlighted?

Edit Dashboard option is not visible in 11G

I have migrated Repository and Catalog from OBIEE 10g to OBIEE 11g. Reports are coming but the Edit Dashboard option is not available and New reports cannot be created. Please help me to come out from this issue.

With which user are you logging in.Check the security for that user make his access to full control.

I've lost the File, Edit, Tools, Options etc from the top of my browser window. How do I fix this?

At the top of my browser page I used to have File, Edit, Tools, Options, Help etc. well that has vanished. How do I get them back?

i pressed F10 then the prob was ok - i then went into the view option and toolbars where my menu bar had been un clicked problem solved :-)

No "edit colors" option in CS4

I have Illustrator CS4. When attempting to convert a photo I placed, I couldn't find the "Edit Colors" option under Edit. It wasn't there at all (I know some people have had it there, but grayed out). So I tried selecting a vector shape. Still not there. I'm pretty confused, if it was grayed out that'd be one thing but it's completely missing. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you change the workspace layout or edit the keyboard shortcuts? This might somehow affect your menu entries. Anyway, when in doubt --> delete the prefs to reset to factory defaults.
