Edit Graph is Disabled in Disoverer 11g

I am trying to create a graph in Discoverer 11g; however the Edit Graph button is disabled. Please help.

Does this happen for all reports or only some?
I ask because some Crosstabs cannot be turned into graphs so am wondering whether your problem report might indeed be a Crosstab. If it is, try duplicating it as a Table and creating the graph against the table.

Graph Data Labels in OBIEE 11g - Customizing

Hi folks!
Would somebody know how to select what is shown in graph data labels in OBIEE 11g?
For example in a scatter graph data label I'd like to show the Group only (not the combination of Series, Group, X and Y, as by default). For a pie chart one can select the data shown in data labels to some extent (name / value), however couldn't find this option for scatter graph.
After searching I could only find instructions for 10g - such as John's instructions at http://obiee101.blogspot.com.es/2008/01/obiee-xy-and-data-in-mouse-over-label.html.
However, my understanding is that the graph engine in OBIEE 11g is now different, and the 10g instructions are not valid for 11g anymore.
I was also having a look on the .cxml files in OBIEE 11g but those seem to relate to colors only?

Programatically edit graph scale

Hi,
I kow that I can edit graph scale values simply mouse clicking on them, and typing new values.
Now I want to reproduce this behaviour programatically, but the problem is that I can't use the mouse in my application (only keyboard is available )
So, is there a way to programatically get focus to scale boundaries (x_min, x_max, y_min, y_max)?
I hope so...

I'd have suggested this too - but you may be limited. Imagine you have set your control to increment by 0.01 (for precision reasons) - how long may it take if you want to set a value of 50?
By the way - building a num pad is not that complicated. Of course it takes time to accomplish, but I think you are most flexible.

I think I confused Computer Configuration with User Configuration in XP, so yes, this policy does exist in Windows XP, sorry for my negligence.
And I am still confused with the silent switch you mentioned, do you mean the
/s in the following command

It doesn’t mean a silent switch but specifies to query subkeys
/s

To silently run the .reg file (with the /s switch) from a login script batch file, use the following syntax:
regedit.exe /s path of .reg file
so I suggest you re-edit the bat file use the above syntax for a test.

Edit, read only, disable, blur items. Which to use?

I've searched the forum and have found some threads that somewhat discuss my question, but none have addressed it specifically.
I have a page that has 20 or so items on it. There are 3 fields (like status) that determine which items may be edited, so whether these items may be edited or not will change from row to row.
As I've stated I've searched on the words disable, etc. and have some ideas on how to best handle this process. For one, I don't want to use disable. But, I'm new to ApEx and don't know the best route to take. Should I use the ReadOnly setting on the item and code using PL/SQL? Or, should I handle it in JavaScript and check the status, etc. there and blur the item?
I want to do this the best way, because I want all of our future apps to use the same concept. And, I want to use a concept that will run efficiently.

I have done this several different ways and have found that it has been best to utlilize pl/sql from the Read-Only using "pl/sql function body returning a boolean". From the read-only, we call a package that handles all the READ-ONLY checks (we put the call into every field by default).<br><br>
Then all we have to do is pass in the current page number and the userID and the package determines whether or not that user is credentialed to view the items on the page item by item.<br><br>
For your example, you could pass the values of the fields on the screen and get your boolean result back for read-only. The advantage to the pl/sql returning boolean is that you can impact the whole application by changing the package that does the credential checking, as opposed to creating and editing page specific javascript for all pages where you want to protect fields.

How can i edit graphs on front panel?

My problem is the following:
I need a front panel, where i can edit the graph. It doesn't need to be very complicatted. It means, there is 5 steps. For example: It will control a thermal chamber, and it should give 25 celsius for 2 hours, then cool down until 2 hours to -40 celsius, 4 hours on -40, then back to 25 celsius until 2 hours, stay there for 2 hours, up to 105 celsius until 2 hours, 4 hours on 105 , 2 hours down to room constant, stay 2 hours there. But i need to be control the levels. The temperature levels, and the time periods. It's nessesery to control this on front panel. I've found a vi , which is reading in *.lvm files with datas x,y and then it's interpolating. But it is not setable after setting.

If you want to specify the profile graphically then you can use cursors to do it. An old example can be found here. You may find others by doing your own search (hint, hint).
Otherwise, you can simply use a multicolumn listbox to specify the indvidual profile segments, and a graph can be used to display the entered profile whenever the listbox changes.

TestStand 2013 - Edit VI button disabled

What is your LabVIEW adapter set to? Is it set to use the development enviornment or is it set to use the run time engine?
You can check by going to Configure>>Adapters...
Choose LabVIEW and select Configure

Graph options disabled

Hi,
I am on SSM 7.5 SP04.
A good lot of my settings are fine and tested. Just one final bit.
Where I look at KPI details with the actual vs target bar chart, there is the graph options link. The link opens up a pop up to select different types of charts.
However the option 3 to selct dates and periods is showing disabled.
I need this to be enabled so that users get the flexibility.

I know that the answer I am giving is not the correct solution to your problem. But , I want to give you one small piece of information which might be helpful.
The graph options and the changes to the graphs in the KPI display cannot be saved. That is , even after you save the settings , if you log out and log in again , the default graph will be displayed. This is due to the fact that , by design, the KPI graphs are not "sticky".
So , I suggest you to create a similar report in the reports tab and then give a link to the report in the KPI's Associated Links.

Cannot edit Graph (visually) in Illustrator

I have Illustrator CS3 on Mac and am trying to create some visual graphs for work. After creating the basic graph, I select it, and attempt to go to Object > Graph > Design, or some variation, however the ENTIRE Object file menu is unselectable. Even using the Direct Selection Tool, I can't go to Object > Graph > Design or Column or Marker. Any help?

You have to close the data table first. Then you can edit the graphs attributes.

How do i change cursor when mouse over a Chart,Graph or Pivot table in 11g

hello everyone...!!
I wanted to change the cursor shape from that hand to an arrow .
As we know whenever the mouse cursor rolls over any button or pivot table ,chart or graphs it changes to a Hand shape, i wanted it to remain in the default arrow shape.
This is for obiee 11g.
Please help.

the above sol will only help you to see the cursor on the local machine
to make it visible on every machine
goto column properties >> additional CSS>>in css write cursor:default
then save changes system wide for these data type
Also make the same changes in the other datatypes also.......

Edit Graph label during runtime

Hi,
Is it possible to edit the label of the Graph during runtime? I know there is a property node to change the name, but I want to edit it by clicking on it, just like I can change the range of the scale.

How do you have the user resizing the graph? I have never seen that capability built into the graph before.
You were talking about the graph label, which to me meant the label that shows above the graph. But now you are talking about an axis label, which is a different entity altogether.
An axis label can be programmatically changed, but can't be changed by a user clicking on a graph during run time. I question why you would want to give a user of your program the ability to do that anyway. The axis labels should be determined by the programmer since they are directly related to the data that is being displayed on the graph. Giving the user the ability to edit a graph label could be dangerous as it could give the impression that the graph is displaying some completely different data set than it actually is.

If your users use Internet explorer, you can disable the add-on. to disable the add-on you will need to know the version of IE they are using. the most commonly used scripts to do that are kixstart or .VBS scripts.

I'm on JDEV 10.1.3.2.0 and JHS 10.1.3.1.26.
I have a question about filling in a field on a screen.
Is it possible when a user inserts text in one field that you disable another field dynamically so that the user cannot access this other field anymore ?

Marcel,
You may want to ask on the JHS forum, but it's certainly possible without JHS. Just set autosubmit=true on the first field (and set its ID property too), set the partialTriggers property on the second field to the ID of the first field, and set the disabled property of the second field to something apropriate.
You could also do this with autosubmit=true on the first field and use a valuechangelistener to write some code in a backing bean to disable the second field.
Both approaches work.
