Edit in Adobe Audition Greyed Out in After Effects CC

The "Edit in Adobe Audition" is greyed out in After Effects CC. I imported an mp3 file into my composition, click on it and the link remains greyed out. The link works fine from Premiere Pro CC to Audtion.
Is there a setting somewhere I need to set?

Figured it out. For whatever reason the .sesx file extension wasn't associated with Adobe Audition on my Windows 7 machine. I changed this by double clicking on an .sesx file and adding the association.

  • Why is my "Open in Adobe Audition" greyed out in PP cs6?

I have the cs6 master collection, pc, with all the updates yet  my "Open in Adobe Audition" greyed out in PP cs6?
I cant dynamic link from PP cs6 to audition cs6. Encore & AFX dynamic links work. Audition opens fine on its own & works fine.

For those of you visiting this page because you're having this problem, what's happened is that Adobe, in it's infinite wisdom, has installed a second folder of program files when updating from 6.0 to 7.0 (or perhaps a smaller update). You need to eliminate duplicate folders so Premiere Pro understands where to look. I noticed that my Audition was all by itself in a second Adobe folder, so I moved its contents to the other Adobe folder with the rest of the program's files and made sure they sat squarely in the Audition folder where they once were. I then right clicked on one of the .sesx files and opened it with Audition and viola. I can edit Premiere audio in Audition again.
PS Adobe, I literally use this ONLY because the denoiser in Premiere Pro doesn't work for the first 2 seconds you play a clip. It takes away noise nicely, just never for the first two seconds after I hit the play button, as if it's trying to use that time to figure out what to remove. If it worked correctly, I wouldn't hear the noise go away in my videos after the first two seconds of a clip and I wouldn't have to export to Audition and waste hard-drive space and time.

  • File Export is greyed out in after effects

I was working on a movie project to export into flash professional but when
i get to the export function its greyed out....
i've done this action a few days ago and it worked fine now i can't do it.
I thought because i imported different jpegs into the project that maybe this was the problem so i went back to the project which had allowed me to do this in the first place but the export feature was also greyed out...
    Anyone?

I tried Selecting one comp, multiple comps
, its just weird...could it be a preferences thing orcomp settings?

  • CS6 - Edit Clip in Adobe Audition Grayed Out

I used to own the CS5.5 Master Collection Suite, and recently upgraded to CS6. Tonight, for the first time, I am using the new Premiere Pro CS6. Besides a few quirks and buginess, one frustrating issue is that the "Edit in Adobe Audition" option is grayed out when I right-click on any audio file placed in my timeline.
In fact, this option is grayed out even in the Edit menu on the top toolbar, and also for audio files over in my Bins list.
I have verified that Audition CS6 is installed and working.
Could really use some help so that I can edit these audio files in Audition directly from the timeline.

Bug confirmed.  This was reported in an earlier thread.  Advice given was to uninstall and try again. I notice too that in Preferences when looking at how your RAM is spread over the available Adobe programs, Audition doesn't appear.
I hoped the recent update would fix this bug - but, sadly it didn't.

The copy function under the edit menu is gone (greyed out) and the short-cut, "command + c" doesn't word. I can only copy by using the copy button on the formatting toolbar, which is slow & annoying. All after I ungraded to Maverick. I've tried several different solutions. Any suggestions? I've tried several solutions, but nothing has worked so far...

  • Edit in Adobe Audition

    Hi!
In Premiere Pro CC, when I select Edit in Adobe Audition>Sequence for a multitrack file all the stereo tracks become mono tracks in Audition's Multitrack Tab.  They end up labelled: Audio 1_1 Audio 1_2 Audio 2_1 Audio 2_2.
    What's the reason for this?
How do I get the transfer of the stereo audio files to keep intact the fact that it's a stereo file?
    Kind Regards

The audio file is directly in the project window. If I select the audio file, which is a wave, I go to Edit->Edit Original and Adobe Audition CC opens just fine; my audio files are associated with Adobe Audition CC. However, the menu item right below, Edit in Adobe Audition is greyed out.
In Windows directly, by double clicking on the file, Adobe Audition CC opens the file without issue.
I also tested the same scenario in Adobe Premiere CC and the exact same issue is occurring there. In Adobe Premiere CC, it was the only thing in the project. I tried different wave files and they all had the same issue. In After Effects CC it is the same thing.
Do I need to reinstall Adobe Audition CC so the dynamic link recognizes the application is installed?

  • Does Logic Pro X have spectrographic editing like Adobe Audition?

I'm an actor who needs to be able to record my voice and then clean up the audio to remove extraneous throat and tongue noise from the recording. The best way to do this is using spectrographic editing. Adobe Audition has this feature, but it's much more expensive than Logic.
Does anyone know if Logic Pro X has that spectrographic editing capability?

This is very true - the synths in Logic are good.  You may need to spend a little time getting the best out of them, but there are hundreds of videos on Youtube showing you how to do this.  Sylenth is awesome, I use it myself, but I also use all the synths in Logic too.
There's a wider point here though.  There's a common feeling (and can apply to musicians of all ages, skill levels and genres) that if they get a particular piece of software, or kit that everybody else uses, they'll be able to make music just like those other people.  It's why guitarists (like myself) spend ages and a lot of money buying exactly the same model of guitar and amp as their musical hero.   But guess what - you still have to learn how to play!  And when you do, you end up sounding unoriginal because everybody's heard that tone a thousand times before.
So my advice is, watch some tutorials and put them into practice - have a good play with what you've got in Logic first.  That'll take a while, so start saving now and then, if you really decide you need other sounds, you'll have a good head start.

  • CC 2014 Using "Edit in Adobe Audition" question?

In Premiere Pro CC (2014). When I send an audio clip that is an .aif from the timeline to Audition using “Edit in Adobe Audition > Clip”, when it shows up in Audition, the file is a .wav file. Is there a preference that will keep it a .aif file?

Dont know... but possibly an Audition Preference or a workflow actually in Audition for Mixer or Sound File Editor setup

  • Edit in Adobe Audition Freezes Audition

There is yet another CS6 bug.
Linking Premiere Pro to Audition within CS6 Production Premium Suite 6.0.1.
I had NO problems doing this in CS5.5.2.  The audio works great in PP CS6.
    Scenario
Windows 7, 8 GB Ram, latest Realtek audio drivers, Matrox MXO2 LE Max latest driver for CS6
Select Edit / Edit in Adobe Audition
    Audition opens
File seen with waveforms in Audition
Unfortunately, Audition is frozen I can move the timeline indicator but the file will NOT play.

Al Mooney may have fixed some issues that were in CS5.5 but this baby needs new set of diapers.

This is no bug with Adobe, it must be Matrox. Without Matrox it works without problems.

  • Why is "edit in Audition" greyed out in Premiere Pro and After Effects?

Since the CC 2014 launch, the option in in Premiere Pro and After Effects to "edit in Audition" is greyed out. Right-clicking a clip in Premiere Pro doesn't have an option for Audition. I cannot send my compositions, sequences or clips to Audition for audio editing. I contacted an Adobe Support personnel earlier this evening. They suggested to go into my Mac's System Preferences and enable a root user, log out of my account, log into the root user, shut down and boot up into safe mode. None of these scenarios worked. It is still greyed out, in both user accounts.
Is this a known issue? I even uninstalled and reinstalled Audition. Still nothing. All my Adobe apps are updated. My Mac is updated. Again, never had this issue before.
    I'd appreciate any assistance!
    Thank you!
    Cheers,
    Evan Lockhart

I may have an answer for you, but not sure if my resolution will work for Macs.
First, here's my system and initial info. I'm using a work computer, operating system is Windows 7. I just upgraded to Adobe CC 2014 about a week ago, and I also uninstalled the previous versions of all my Creative Cloud programs after installing the new versions (CC 2014 doesn't just update the previous version, it installs a new program and doesn't automatically uninstall the previous CC programs). Not sure if the uninstall is necessary, for this resolution to work.
Anyway, after I installed Premiere Pro CC 2014 and Audition CC 2014, the Edit Clip in Adobe Audition command was available from the Edit menu in the Menu bar, but was disabled in the right-click menu for the sequence (for the right-click menu, it was visible, but greyed out and disabled). When I tried to use the command from the Edit menu in the Menu bar, it gave me a dialog box to fill out and it created a new folder (titled "Adobe Audition Interchange"). So, the command, when selected from the "Edit menu" obviously uses a different process than the command from the right-click menu. Anyway, I didn't want a new folder created or to fill out a dialog box, I just wanted it to behave like it used to. Basically, when I right-click the sequence and select Edit Clip in Adobe Audition from the right-click menu, it just opens Audition and the audio waveform is visible.
I was able to resolve this and get the right-click command working by reading a couple of articles on this same issue from Adobe CC (not CC 2014) and using those to figure out how to fix this in Adobe CC 2014.
    Here's what I did:
I had to locate my .sesx files in my system. They are NOT in the same location as they were for the previous version of CC (at least, they weren't for me). I had to use the Search command and look for .sesx extensions to locate them.
Found them under the path C:>Users>Public>Public Documents>Adobe>Audition>7.0>Session Templates. Note that (for me), there was a folder titled 6.0 on the same level as the 7.0 folder. I selected the 7.0 folder as that folder contained the most recent set of .sesx files. I checked the 6.0 folder and those were the .sesx files from the previous version, so I deleted that folder just as a clean-up step.
I right-clicked on one of the .sesx files in the Session Templates folder and then selected Open with from the right-click menu. The Open with dialog box displays and provides a list of programs.
I selected Adobe Audition CC 2014 from the list of programs (you may have to browse to find it) and then selected Always use the selected program to open this kind of file. I then clicked OK to submit the configuration command and close the Open with dialog box.
I restarted Premiere Pro CC 2014 and the Edit Clip In Adobe Audition command was now enabled on the right-click menu and was working properly.
I wept with joy..... OK, not really, but I'm always irritated at ridiculous regression errors and a lack of thorough testing of new software versions, so I am happy to resolve frustrating issues.
Don't know if this will help you, or if you already resolved your issue. Either way, good luck!

  • Can not save in Audition after using "Edit in Adobe Audition" from After Effects CC

Following the extra credit activity in Lesson 5 of "Adobe After Effects >> Classroom in a Book".
Using Win7 and everything is local on my C drive.
When i try to save in Audition I get "This file is in use by another application and cannot be overwritten"
I searched the forums including this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4520401) but nothing seemed to apply to me.
Using unlocker, it seems that the piano.wav file is locked by DynamicLinkMediaServer.exe single PID but three handles. see a Piano.pkf files in folder but it is not locked and piano.wav is file showing up in audition. Quit audition a and tried again, so not sure if extra handles are artifacts from previous attempts or not.
Just learning CC, but I've been programming PCs from the beginning so quite familiar in those aspects if you need me to track things down. Seems like this has been an issue for quite some time, but not in an environment as plain vanilla as mine.
Any assistance would be greatly apprciated. The inter-program integration is a big asset to CC, but this is a major roadblock.

Go to the hardware setup - the settings for Edit View recording and Multitrack View recordings are separate, and it sounds as though one is configured correctly and the other isn't.

  • Integration of other Adobe products..Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Encore DVD

Prior to obtaining CS2 I have been working with the other video/audio Adobe tools; Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Encore DVD.
I fully expected to see integration of these products into the Bridge application after CS2 installation. I was disappointed, there does not appear to be any such integration. I do hope that this is in plan, and that I don't have to spend an "upgrade" fee to use integration that should have been there to begin with.
Even if there is no further integration, it would be nice to be able to continue using the Bridge as my "file manager" in the event I have to transfer my CS2 activation to another computer; after all I still have 4 licensed Adobe products installed on the machine, even if there not, quote, CS2 applications.

I can't use Bridge with my video products anymore. I have 3 systems in my personal development environment. I am now past the 30 day period before activation of CS2 is required on my video editing machine. Now I am no longer able to use Adobe Bridge with my other Adobe (video) products.
Also, now I've noticed that the next level of video products is available, they now have Bridge integrated. As I anticipated in my first append, I cannot continue using Bridge with my Adobe video products unless I spend more money for an upgrade. If the intention is to have Bridge become an integral tool in the creative process, this policy is short sighted. It can't be that difficult to bring out an update for the CS2 level of bridge that would enable it to work with users that have AE 6.5 or PPro 1.5 installed.

  • Direct Link to Adobe SpeedGrade Greyed Out

    Hi,
I've just downloaded SpeedGrade from the Cloud. It and Premiere Pro CC are up to date. However, when I click on my sequence and try to hit "direct link to adobe speedgrade" the option is greyed out and I can't. Can some help me please?
    I'm running Windows 7.
I've opened the sequence directly from Speedgrade, but cannot get the direct link to work sending it back to Premiere either.
    Thanks,
    Tim

There are two things that typically leave this result ... first, that one of the programs is not actually the 'equivalent' of the other. There've been quite a few posts on here where folks thought both releases were the latest, but after checking again, found that one was out of 'sync' with the other. Very worth re-checking.
The other is a preference-file mis-match. For quite a few problems like this around install situations, somehow one or both program's preference files get out of whack. Depending on your OS, there's some very specific places to go check & probably delete your preference files & then re-start the programs. That will fix most things like this not involving mis-matched editions. You can find a number of threads here and FAQ's listed on deleting your preference files. Check on the "Overview" tab page for this and for the Speedgrade forum for details.

  • Pr Sequence sent to AME drops whole tracks or clips touched by Edit in Adobe Audition

On an increasingly frequent basis in CS5.5 I have observed sequences sent from Pr to AME failing to include certain replaced audio clips (from Edit Clip in Adobe Audition) or several whole tracks (2 & 3).  In the most recent example the same sequence was sent to AME and duplicated three times producing four formats none of which contained tracks 2 & 3.  Once discovered [days and restarts later] the offending prproj was reopened, the unchangeed sequence was sent back through AME, and now the output includes the missing track 2 & 3.
What can cause clips or whole tracks to be missing from the output in one export but included in another with no other changes?  Shouldn't AME compalin if it was told to encode a resource that a Pr Sequence referred to that AME can't find?
The audio clips on track 2 & 3 in this recent even were likely pasted into the Pr Sequence after having been copied from a another file's sequence; Volume levels would have been previewed and adjusted exensively in the target sequence they were pasted into, and [usually] a save executed before the Export/Media was called.
