Edit in ... disabled?

I have tried today to edit an image but Photoshop, as well as other editor and all other choices, are greyed out in the Develop module under Photo. I've certainly often used this and don't know why it's not working today. I'm using 2.3 under Win XP Pro. Thanks!

It looks like I lost preferences - luckily, I frequently backup so just restored a backup Lightroom preferences.agprefs (Documents and Settings / username / Application Data / Adobe / Lightroom folder - which may be a hidden folder) and can edit again!

Why is the SSL Certificate "Edit" button disabled in Server Settings?

I just setup my Lion server and am attempting to create a self-signed certificate. All of the directions start with "Run the Server app, go to your server, click the setting tabs, and push the 'Edit' button next to SSL Certificate". Well, I can't because the button is disabled.
I have two theories. The first is that my network setup is messed up somehow. My server name is "server.mydomain.private". When I click on Configure Network, it shows that name and the proper IP address.
My second theory is that the SSL Certificate requires some other service, maybe Open Directory.
Anyway, I'm stumped. Any suggestions are welcome.

venblr, I saw that one too, tried it, but it didn't work. I think I deleted a certificate or something, which caused the problem in the first place. I'm going to finish reading some Lion Server books before starting from scratch by reinstalling Lion and then LIon Server. (I have a screen snap of earlier work and it shows the SSL Certificate "Edit" button enabled.)

Editable ALV- Disable Add, delete row buttons

I have an editable ALV using OO Grid. Some columns are editable and some are not using field catalog. I want to disable the 'add new row' and 'delete row' buttons. How to go about it ?

You can simply add them to the "Exclude" table and pass them to the SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY method.

Edit loggoing disabled when PS CS5 opens. Help!!!

When I open CS5 it has started telling me that my editing log can not be opened and that it has been disabled. What could the problem be.

What operating system are you using?
That probably has to do with having the History Log enabled.
Photoshop (Edit)>Preferences>General>History Log
If you don't need it you can uncheck it
Otherwise the text file that photoshop writes to is probably set to Read Only
(you can find the location of the edit log by clicking on Choose)

Edit Undo Disabled

Dreamweaver will not allow me to select Undo from the Edit
menu. It seems to be disabled as well as the Redo command. I cannot

You can check to see what your "Maximum number of history
steps" is set to in the General category of Preferences, but "2" is
the minimum possible with CS3.
When you try to undo or redo, make sure you have the correct
file selected in DW. For instance, you can't undo a change made to
index.html if style.css is selected. That would simply undo the
last change made to the style sheet if "undo" is available. It
won't be available if no changes have been made to the file in the

why is 'cut' disabled under edit? how do I move files from one location to another? (10.6.6)

the short answer is that it is not disabled because it doesn't exist.
now, let's get some things straight. firstly let me just say that i have been a mac user for years, and i have never even owned a computer that ran windows 7.
having said that, with all due respect, it seems as though some of you folks have never even used windows before.
_*1. if you cut A and then cut B, it will NOT lead to data loss, you will NOT lose A.*_
what happens when you Cut:
i. file/folder is copied to the clipboard.
original item is NOT deleted.
what happens when you Paste after Cut:
i. item is copied to the destination.
ii. original item is deleted.
this means that if you perform 2 successive cuts, there will not be any 'unnecessary data loss'. in such a case, the first item will be restored its original position.
the ONLY exception to this is when you are cutting text from a text field. however, every discussion i have come across, including this one, is with regards to Finder, in which case it is not an issue. +*ironically, Cut is possible in mac when editing text fields.*+
again, i am not trying to offend anyone when i say that anyone who has a decent understanding of how windows works would know this.
_*2. You cannot move files between disks.*_
that is right, you cannot move files between disks. all you can do is copy them. rather than upgrade the hard disk on my macbook i for one connect it to a total of 3TB of external storage, which makes sense because that capacity does not even exist for laptop hard disk drives.
anyway, in the event that you try to drag and drop (i am not a fan of the whole keyboard dance thing, read below) files between HDDs, the file is only copied, not moved. this is in contrast to when the origin and destination are on the same disk, and the file is moved.
clearly, for someone like myself who transfers large amounts of data between disks, it becomes a hassle. if i dont move data out of my macbook HD it would get filled and i would have a problem.
on a side note, i am not a fan of the whole keyboard fingerdance simply because it is not intuitive. it is something that needs to be trained. to perform a shortcut you actually need to first recall what the shortcut is. you do not need to remember what a click is. even if it isn't a single step, all i need to perform are a succession of clicks, each prompting the next.
obviously, you can't stop someone like me; i use Path Finder.

ALV Grid Display Editable Field Disables Zebra Style

First of all, I want to say: "I did my research." I found a post with a very similar question but not identically my case, or at least I can't solve it the same way. [Here is the reference post.|Re: Check box impact on ALV grid (Using OOPS)]
My Goal: I have an ALV Grid which I want to display using the ZEBRA style in the layout and also make one field in the field catalog editable.
My Issue: As soon as you make one field editable in the field catalog using the EDIT option, the ZEBRA style in the layout does not works. I also have key fields in the ALV Grid which I want to keep as KEY and which get painted dark blue.
I can't use the individual row coloring method used in the reference link above since this overrides the blue coloring of the key fields in the ALV. I haven't gone through all the effort of individually painting each cell on the grid, and honestly I don't think it is efficient.
My Question: Is there a way to have editable fields in the ALV Grid and keep the ZEBRA setting working?
Please, I will really appreciate if you can read and try to understand my issue before posting incoherent solutions or answers. I don't want to waste anybody's time nor mine.

Thanks for your reply; it someway addresses what I am looking for. Unfortunately, I've already went through that reference code; it has exactly the same problem that I am facing.
If you take that code for example, and you throw it u201Cas-isu201D in your ABAP editor you'll see that even when the ZEBRA style is being used in the layout, since the EDIT option in the field catalog is being set for field NETPR, the ZEBRA style gets lost; only the whole editable column gets white. You can go ahead and play a little bit with that piece of code and you will see what I am saying.

Insert edit partially disabled

i was doing some simple edits on Final Cut Pro 7.0.3, when suddenly the program began operating differently, as if i changed a setting.
when i drag clips around on the timeline, i no longer have the option of choosing an insert edit. i only can do an overwrite edit. this occurs whether or not my mouse cursor is above or below the horizontal line.
i consulted the internet, and i discovered the option of dragging the clip from the Viewer into the Timeline. When I do this, i am given the option of insert edit or overwrite edit.
I also found out about pressing the "option" key while dragging the clip from one place to another on the timeline. This allows me to do an insert edit, but it also leaves the original clip in it's former place, which I have to go back and delete.
Using these two methods is OK, i guess, but I'm a novice editor and I was very comfortable simply dragging my clips around on the timeline, rearranging the order. How can I get back to this?
I've started new projects, but the problematic program behavior remains. I've also gone back to old projects where this was never an issue, and the behavior occurs here, too.

unfortunately, this didn't help me. i tried to use the Preference Manager program to dispose of any altered preferences, but the program told me there were no preferences saved.
similarly, I tried to go to Library/Preferences to delete the appropriate file and thus bring Final Cut back to it's original settings, but the file that was specified is not there (i assume because there are no preferences saved).

[iPhone] TableView in editing mode disables selection methods

When I put mu UITableView in editing mode, via setEditing:animated:, the selection methods from the delegate don't get called. In particular the didSelectRowAtIndexPath method does't get called.
If I don't put the tableView in editing mode I can select the row as usual. Has anyone else had this issue?

Found the problem. A tableview has a allowsSelectionWhileEditing property. Set that to YES and it works

Edit PDF disabled

My old hard drive crashed on my Mac but I was able to pull off some files. It's still accessible as an external as long as I don't pull off large files. I have a pdf document that I edited in CS4 (maybe acrobat 8?) Now when I try to edit it I don't have permission. Is there a folder I can copy over with permissions or a way to over ride the permission settings so I can edit the PDF and not have to retype the whole thing?

I feel like an idiot. That's what was stopping me. I was running reader thinking I was in acrobat. Thanks. You're a life saver.

Disable column when in edit mode 2

U need to go for styles in alv grid. U can define a style for each cell in which u can manage editable or disable in that.
This u can handle in PBO each time conditionally. See the below code.
Add one field in your output internal table as below for populating the style.
CELLTAB TYPE LVC_T_STYL, " for input enabling the cell.
This is a table type. U need to populate this field in each row with its type to enabled or disabled as below and style for which field in your internal table. Here it is WERKS.
CELLTAB-FIELDNAME = 'WERKS'.
CELLTAB-STYLE = CL_GUI_ALV_GRID=>MC_STYLE_DISABLED.
or
CELLTAB-FIELDNAME = 'WERKS'.
CELLTAB-STYLE = CL_GUI_ALV_GRID=>MC_STYLE_ENABLED
insert this table in the field CELLTAB of your internal table.
in each row.
And populate the layout with style field name. Here our field is CELLTAB.
GS_LAYOUT-STYLEFNAME = 'CELLTAB'.
GS_LAYOUT-EDIT = GC_X.
This can solve ur problem

Editing disabled

Hello Hosts and Moderators,
Editing is disabled today. At least between 13:00 and 17:30 GMT today (Saturday 21 January 2006).
Symptoms:
- Impossible to edit directly from a freshly written Reply.
- Impossible to edit from a Reply in a Thread.
- Possible to edit only once when using a Reply's Preview.
Is this yet another disabling of a good feature?
I hope it is only temporary (this one too...), as I find it a very important and useful tool for spelling names correctly, avoiding bolding or italicing errors, mistakes in URLs etc.
BTW yes,
I type in TextEdit first (often)
AND yes,
I use level4 (very often).
Should I organize each of my postings even more from now on?

The WebClient UI allows changes of the UI by using the Enhancement Set.

If you enhance the view where you want to change the behavior of the Edit button, you will get a new view controller class that belongs to customer. This new view controller class is sub class of the SAP view controller class. The view controller class from SAP will be exchange during the runtime with you new view controller class.
Since the new view controller class belongs to customer, you can change it as you want.
You can redefine the GET_TOOLBAR_BUTTONS / GET_BUTTONS, where the definition of the Edit button is located.
And change the attribute "enabled" of the button structure depends an attribute of the BOL entity.

You can write a code in PAI of main screen. there by using loop at screen you can make that field editable or disabled.
Code sample:

Toggle between allowing cell editing and disallowing....

I have an edit button and when clicked it allows the user to edit all cells on the table, when clicked again all cell editing is disabled. I have a method which is called by the edit button event handler which works fine.. what to put in the method is the problem!
I was using:

You should make use of the fact that a boolean can only have 1 of two values... You don't need to check it with an if, so your code can be rewritten as:

        table.setEnabled(enable);
        if (enable) {
            table.setBackground(enabledTableColour);
        } else {
            table.getCellEditor().stopCellEditing();

ICE links, clickable and editable

Hi All,
I want to make my links clickable and editable. Much like you see when you are using ICE and you hover over menu items. You have the option to edit the name of the menu item and also click on the link to navigate to a different page. When hovering over the menu item a small arrow will appear allowing you to click.
I have nested accordions in my site. When they appear in ICE they need to be clicked to drop down and reveal the content which I have made editable for my client. I would also like the client to be able to edit the links names, however when making this editable it disables the click function and as a result disables the accordion.
Does any one know the code eg: <div ice:editable="html"> to make a link, editable and clickable?

Not an expert at the ICE technique just yet, but I've tried a few things that might help.
Wraping your a tags with:
<div ice:editable="html" ice:options="bold,italic,|,link"><a href="/contact">This is a link</a></div>
this will allow you to follow the link or change the text/link
if you put the ice attributes on the a tag, which i think is how they want you to do it, you will only be able to follow the link and change the text. not the href.
so just wrap your accordions with the div above.
