Edit in photoshop CC 2014 not available in Lightroom 5.7.1

I have both programs installed (Lightroom 5.7.1 and Photoshop CC 2014) but the option to edit in photoshop CC 2014 is grayed out when in Lightroom. Any help is greatly wanted.

Lightroom might not know where the original image is located on your system. In that case the Photo > Edit In > Edit in Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 menu will be greyed out.
You can check this by looking at the image icons and folder icons in Library view.
When you look at the image in the Library, does it contain a small warning sign?
If yes, then click on this sign and locate the file on your system or network.
Something else to check is the folders that the images are in. If all the folders contain a small question mark on them, then Right-click the folder and choose Find Missing Folder.
Hope this helps,
Cari

  • Edit in Photoshop CC (2014) not transferring back to Lightroom

After uninstalling and reinstalling LR 5.5 AND Photoshop CC (2014) I was finally able to get images to go from LR to PS, but after editing the TIFs are not reimporting into Lightroom. The images save in the same folder.

  • Edit in ps cc 2014 not working from Lightroom 5.5

just updated to PS CC 2014.  Went to LR and clicked on a photo and chose edit in PS CC 2014.  PS opens but nothing happens.  Then updated to LR 5.5 but the same problem.  Edit in PS wont go, no matter what type of file I click.  Please help.

I think “Cloud Manager” means the app called Adobe Creative Cloud that has a red icon background and two C’s facing each other so they look like an infinity symbol.  It is where you see a list of all your CC apps.
The normal solution is to uninsta PS-CC-2014 and re-install it, but maybe it works to uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud app, too.

OK, seems like something is broken with the new updates. In Lightroom I can no longer "Edit photo in Photoshop." I have the proper program designated in LR preferences. I select a photo, select Edit in Photoshop CC 2014, PS launches but the photo never appears....

  • Lightroom 5 file edited in photoshop cc 2014 does not appear back next to original after save. Is anyone else having this issue? If so what is the fix.  The edited image appears back in lightroom in a new folder.

Lightroom 5 file edited in photoshop cc 2014 does not appear back next to original after save. Is anyone else having this issue? If so what is the fix.  The edited image appears back in lightroom in a new folder.

I'm performing a normal "Save", not "Save As". Work flow I'm using is as follows:  Select photo in Lightroom 5.7 >" Edit In" Photoshop CC 2014 > (after working on photo is PS) > Save > close PS. Photo returns to Lightroom 5.7 in a new folder rather than next to the original. Prior to purchasing the monthly plan and upgrading to PS CC 2014, I performed this same work flow using Lightroom 5.6 and Photoshop CS6 without any issues.
Just for fun... I attempted to move the edited file back into the original folder. I received a prompt that said the file already existed in the original folder, however I can't see it except the new folder that LR created. I tried several different sort orders, etc without any success.
*** Follow up: Was unable to resolve the issue using Photoshop CC 2014. Uninstalled PS CC 2014 and went back to using Photoshop CS6. Return trips from LR 5.7 to Photoshop is now performing as it should: returning edited photo back to the original folder in LR 5 and placing next to the original image.
Should anyone have a suggestion on getting Photoshop CC 2014 to do the same, I would love to be educated.
    Thanks for the help, dj_paige.

  • Lightroom 5.6 Error: The file could not be edited because Photoshop CC could not be launched...

I upgraded to lightroom 5.6 recently and i am using photoshop cs 6.
My OS is windows 8 on i5 4670 with R280X gfx card 16gb ram
After editing a photo with lightroom , when I right click to edit in photoshop, immediately photoshop launch but the image isnt imported to photoshop.
After like 30sec  an error message pop out saying "The file could not be edited because Photoshop CC could not be launched".
After another 10sec then the photo appear in photoshop... this is getting irritating to me.
if i select to just open the original or a copy of the original it works fine. It only happens when I try to open it with lightroom changes.
I had uninstall/reinstall both photoshop and lightroom as well as remove all the plugins i had, but the problem doesnt go away.
Another issue with lightroom 5.6 is the the adjustment brush is slow and sluggish, it is so unusable when I zoom in to use the adjustment brush.
I didnt had that issue before i upgraded. OMG
anyone have solution to my problem ?

I upgraded to the latest version of ps cc 2014 , problem resolved.
look like cs6 i outdated or something

  • Photoshop crashes when I use Edit in Photoshop CC 2014 from Lightroom 5.6

I have Adobe Lightroom 5.6.  Whenever I try to Edit in Photoshop CC (2014) when Photoshop has not been started, Photoshop immediately crashes with a message of:
Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 cannot be opened because of a problem.
This happens regardless of what option I choose to Edit in:  1) Copy with Lightroom adjustments, 2) Copy, or 3) Original
If Photoshop is already open, I don't have this problem.
I am running Mac OS X Mavericks.  Everything is up to date.
    How can I correct this?

That is not an application crash - that is a kernel panic, which means there is a hardware defect, a bug in the OS or a bug in a low level driver (like parts of the video driver).  Kernel panics are not caused by applications, but by defective hardware or bugs in the OS and drivers.
Resetting prefs may avoid the settings that triggered the crash - but the cause remains in the hardware, OS, or driver code.
Since Apple is not going to update the drivers in 10.6.8, your best bet is to update the OS when you can, and hope the new drivers are in better shape.  Unfortunately, it is also possible that you just have a bad GPU or video RAM - and fixing that would require replacing the video card or system (in the case of laptops or all-in-one machines).

  • Lightroom 5.5 DNG "Edit In" Photoshop CC 2014 doesn't work (Mac)

I just upgraded to Lightroom 5.5 and Photoshop CC 2014 today, and now in Lightroom when I select a DNG file and click "Edit In Photoshop CC 2014", Photoshop appears but nothing else happens. The file doesn't open.
I can copy the DNG file to my desktop and open it with Photoshop directly and that works. Also, selecting a PSD file in Lightroom and doing "Edit In" Photoshop works. Only with DNG files does "Edit In" not work.
This was working before today's big update.
    Any ideas? Thanks!
    Lightroom 5.5 (Camera Raw 8.5)
    Photoshop 2014.0.0 (Camera Raw 8.5.0.236)
    Mac OS X 10.9.3

    This worked~!~
    I used this solution:
Solution 2: Run a repair mode installation of Photoshop CC 2014 from the Creative Cloud desktop application.
This solution allows you to run a repair installation without uninstalling Photoshop CC 2014. If you've already uninstalled Photoshop CC 2014, install it from the Apps tab of the Creative Cloud desktop application.
Open the Creative Cloud desktop application.
    Select the Apps tab.
Scroll down (if necessary) until the Find New Apps section displays.
On the same line as Find New Apps, select Filters & Versions > Previous Version.
Click the Install button next to Photoshop and select CC 2014.
    Click Yes, install this version.
When you have run this, CC says you need to update Bridge and CC2014. I ran the Bridge update and then tested LR edit in. It said I still needed ACR 8.6 which I already had.
Downloaded a clean copy of ACR 8.6/DNG Converter 8.6 and installed.
The LR edit-in is working; CC says all up to date!
    Thanks for the solution!!

  • Lightroom 5.6 Edit in Photoshop CC 2014 doesn't work

I have already referred to the solution posted by Adobe and the 2 solutions don't work for me: Edit In doesn't work in Lightroom 5.5 from Photoshop CC 2014.
When in Lightroom and I click on Edit in Photoshop,  Photoshop opens, but the file never appears. I'm on a fresh new 2013 27" iMac. Last week I installed Lightroom and Photoshop CC, and I'm frustrated that even with a fresh install of everything I can't get it to work. Actually I have never been able to get my Lightroom and Photoshop to work properly, in the seamless manner that the Adobe video demos show. I say that because I have this same issue on my older iMac stations, but it wasn't a major problem as the workaround was to run on an older version of Camera Raw, so that Lightroom would pop up with a prompt and create the file for the catalog first and then open in PS. But now that I'm on a fresh install and everything is up to date, I can't figure out any other means.
Can anyone help and provide suggestions?

None of my "Edit In" worked with the pictures in Lightroom for a particular folder. I expanded the 2014 folder and found that two subfolders had a "?" in front of the 2014-07-04" and another. In other words, the folder was missing. After I found the missing folders using the Lightroom "Find Missing Folder" option, I was able to use the "Edit In" menu item. The 2014 folders weren't expanded at first, so I didn't see the ? marks in front of them. With the missing folders, Lightroom's "Edit In" option was basically telling me there was no picture to "Edit In." Howerver, I have Previews and Smart Previews made when I import picture files into Lightroom. So, the "pictures" showed in the slide strip on the bottom, and also in the display in "expand," but it was actually only showing the previews I had built, not the actual missing pictures in the missing folders. I had accidentally moved some directories using Windows Explorer, and I didn't realize my "happy fingers" moved them outside of Lightroom. Of course, Lightroom has no way of knowing I moved them, and just shows the "?" before the missing folder name. After expanding the root folder, then knew what to do. Fixed it easily. It was frustrating, and took about 20 minutes to see the problem. And that fixed the greyed-out "Edit In" Photoshop CC 2014, and all the other plug-ins were greyed out too.
    Hope this fixes your problem.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 won't open Photos I choose to "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014" in Lightroom

I just downloaded Photoshop CC 2014 and uninstalled Photoshop CC.  Lightroom is updated as well.  However, now when I try to "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014" from Lightroom, the app will open but it does not load the photos I chose to edit.  How can I fix this?

When i use the "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014" option in Lightroom 5.5, Photoshop CC2014 will open, but the photo I want to edit in Photoshop, doesn't load up. To edit a photo in CC14 I have had to set up an Export option that saves the photo as a tiff and then opens in CC2014. Is there a setting I have missed to enable the transfer using "Edit in..."
    Thanks

I started having this problem after I uninstalled Photoshop CC.  I even tried not removing its preferences while uninstalling, but I still ended up with the same problem.  The only solution I can find is to reinstall Photoshop CC.  Only then will Photoshop CC 2014 open a photo from Lightroom 5.5.  I also notice that with DNGs, I no longer am presented with an option to "edit original," "edit with Lightroom changes," etc.  It just opens the DNG with LR changes.  When opening a PSD, however, I do see this prompt.  When installing the upgrades, Adobe said we could uninstall Photoshop CC and continue using Photoshop CC 2014 once we were comfortable with Photoshop CC 2014.  Apparently that's not the case when using Lightroom's "edit in" feature.  I'm really disappointed that I have to keep unused applications installed just to make another application work semi-properly.  :-(

Well, the quick summary that you are not going to like: This system is pretty short on RAM and processor power, your graphics driver is outdated and you are using two screens with different resolutions, which eats up all graphics acceleration plus your card has only 256 MB of VRAM in the first place, which doesn't meet the requirements. You will never be able to use 3D under those conditions.
