"Edit in Photoshop CC" launches Photoshop, but doesn't open the image.

I'm working on a Mac with Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC. When I select "Edit in Photoshop CC" from Lightroom, Photoshop launches, but the image doesn't open up. What is going on? This is a new problem since loading Lightroom 5 & Photoshop CC - it worked normally on my machine with previous versions.

I've been dealing with this problem for almost a month now and still no solution. Here's what I've tried:
- Installed PS 2014 with pre-existing PS CC and LR 5.5 with pre-existing LR 5.4. Then...
- Uninstalled LR 5.5 and PS 2014, reinstalled PS2014 first, LR second. Didn't work.
- Did the opposite - reinstalled LR5.5 first, PS2014 second. Didn't work.
- Removed PS CC and LR 5.4, reinstalled LR 5.5 and PS 2014 (in both orders). Didn't work.
- Removed everything Adobe from the computer:
   - Creative Cloud, PS CC, PS 2014, LR 5.4 and 5.5
   - Deleted everything I could find relating to PS CC, PS 2014, LR 5.4 and 5.5.
   - Ran AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool.exe to remove all traces.
   - Reinstalled Creative Cloud, PS 2014 and LR 5.5. Didn't work.
   - Uninstalled PS 2014 and LR 5.5, reinstalled in reverse order. Didn't work.
One clue to the problem I stumbled across by accident leads me to believe the problem is something to do with ACRaw. If I try to open a JPG in LR 5.5 it opens fine in PS 2014. However if I try to open a RAW file (Nikon's NEF format) I get the "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 could not be launched" message.
This is driving me buggy. Without the ability to go back and forth between LR and PS, the whole workflow is ruined.
Any new thoughts?

Lightroom 5 Edit in CS6 under Yosemite Doesn't Open the Image

I just upgraded to Yosemite. Doing that fixed a bunch or problems but seems to have created a new one. When I right click Edit In, I get the following results:
Edit a copy with Lightroom Adjustments everything works correctly, CS6 opens with the image
Edit a copy of the original, I get a new copy in LR, but no don't transfer into CS6 and if CS6 is already open the image isn't there
Edit Original CS6 opens without the image
Has anyone else had this experience? If so is there a fix?

Trying to solve a similar issue where none of the adjustments made in lightroom are carried forward into photoshop when using the edit in. The dialogue box with the various option as to use the Lightroom adjustments etc is missing. The file just opens up unadjusted in photoshop. Wondered if you had found the solution to your problem. I've gone through all the preferences for file handling, and for catalogue setting. Tried checking various tick boxes or unchecking only to find it makes no difference. Have uninstalled reinstalled several times all to no avail. Sounds similar to your problem in some ways hence why the message.

Opening photoshop from double click on file opens the app but doesn't open the file.

Steps to reproduce:
Having the photoshop closed...
1 - Double click a psd file on the desktop (or any other place)
2 - Photoshop loads until it gets to the normal window
3 - The file wasn't opened
4 - Go back to the desktop and double click the file
5 - Photoshop (that is at this time already open), opens the file and displays it on screen
Shouldn't it be opening the file after loading photoshop?

Using JSP to run batch file - command launches excel but doesn't open file

I have written a jsp on a server which runs a batch file. Every command line in the batch works fine except the following:
CALL "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" C:\Temp\spreadsheet.xls
I can see that a command prompt has been opened and an instance of Excel has been created, but it does not open the file.
I tried running the batch file on its own. It worked fine. I tried putting the java code in the jsp into a java class, that worked okay too. I think it might be to do with the fact that the client is trying lauch the application through the web, but it's missing some information such as paths.
I am totally running out of ideas.. please help

I would most probably know it runs on servers.Yes, you might, but if you were assuming that the path you gave would always lead to an executable running on the client you'd have a problem. It's worth asking.

you can give me some advice on that, that would be
greatJSPs shouldn't have code in them that doesn't pertain to view. I'd wrap something like a system call or Runtime.exec in a Java Bean that you can test off-line without the JSP. Then have the JSP instantiate an instance, invoke its method, and display the value that's returned.

Firefox hangs upon startup, or starts a process but doesn't open the browser.

Within the last couple days, Firefox has had a lot of problems.
When I open it, the window hangs and freezes after a few seconds, if it opens at all. Other times, trying to open Firefox simply won't open the window, but will leave an extra process running in the background that I have to manually shut down via Task Manager.
I have made a fresh profile. I have restarted Firefox. I previously had hardware acceleration checked, and disabled it; still having the same problem. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox multiple times. I have run a scan of my system with Malwarebytes; nothing detected. It's not even generating a crash log. I have looked through the support forums, found people with problems similar to mine, but no solutions posted for them since sometime last month.
Firefox seems to run normally if do an install of version 21, which opens up the browser window. Everything works fine, until I close the browser and then re-open it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

I am trying to open a file that was e-mailed to me in the PDF format, when I click on it, the icon shows ''connecting'', but doesn't open the file are allow me to save it to my computer so I can open it with Adobe Reader, what else can I do??

My suppliers e-mail me a copy of my monthly statements which is so much better than using snail mail, but since I have started using Mozilla Firefox, I can't seem to get them to open nor will it allow me to save them to my computer. Do you have any idea why this would do this??

Have you looked at the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] Knowledge Base article? There are a couple of different PDF plugins listed in the article. I'd suggest you give those a shot. You might also want to take a look at [[Using the Adobe Reader plugin with Firefox]].

"open with" launches CS5, but doesn't load JPG?

I am a newbie to Mac, but loving it. When I right-mouse click an image file (such as a JPG) and choose "open with" Photoshop CS5, Photoshop launches but doesn't open the image. The image opens fine from the CS5 open dialog box. "Open with" works well for my other apps. I don't want to permanently associate CS5 to my image files. I've spent hours searching the net for an answer only to find this same question in a couple of places with no replies.
I'm running an 8 core MacPro with OS X 10.6.3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, CS5 rocks!

I have trial versions of Lightroom and Elements 11. "Edit in Photoshop.." does not open the image

Using trial versions of Lightroom and Elements 11, th ecommand to "Edit in Photoshop Elements 11" succeeds in opening Photoshop but fails to open the image. Any ideas?

I have the same problem with PS Elements 13 trial version (fully updated), but sadly this solution doesn't work... there is no 'Support Files' folder, and nothing called 'Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor.app' anywhere else.
Any thoughts?

Project launches iMovie HD, but doesn't open

I have an edit on iMovie HD, which for some reason launches iMovie, but doesn't open. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Try deleting the imovie preference file.
Close Imovie.
Then locate a file named com.apple.imovie.plist and get rid of it. Then empty the trash, run a permissions repair with disk utility and restart. That should do it. The files you need to delete are found in:
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imovie.plist

Clicking JPEG icon launches Photoshop but doesn't open file

I run an IMAC Power PC G5 with Tiger 4.11 and recently did a system "archive and install". My JPEG files can only be opened within PhotoshopCS with Command+O. Double clicking an icon from the finder launches Photoshop but does not open the file. Neither does dragging icon on to application icon in the dock.
I ran the disk utility to verify and repair preferences and repair disk.
I reset "Launch Services". Then, I trashed "Adobe Photoshop CS Settings" and relaunched the program -- no change.
Other files (ai, pdf, etc.) open fine. I'm only having trouble with PhotoshopCS.

Ok I sorted it, by uninstalling and re-installing Photoshop

Thanks for the information and your help. I have never bothered before changing the format. Next time I will.
I copied the library to the external drive and then it went and said they were referenced files but I was okay about that. Now it cannot see them and will not do anything with them. I think I will buy another external drive and start again by importing all of my files again. I guess 55K will keep the mac busy this week.

If I use open from Photoshop it opens the file. If I drag and drop into photoshop(and there is nothing open in photoshop) is opens.
