Trial Elements 11.. by mistake put pic in music org. Cannot move to people. Shows bar thru pic as "incomplete edit" Could not find "done.

If you've accidentally saved a file to the wrong folder, find it in the Organizer, make sure the left panel is displayed (if not, click the Show button in the very bottom left). You should see a list of your folders in the left hand panel. Simply drag the image from the center area onto the folder you would like it to be in on the left panel. The file will be moved to that location.

How Do I Open a "Edit in Progress" Photo in the Organizer in a Stacked File

I have a photo in my organizer which indicates "edit in progress". This photo is one of three in a version set. I am unable to open this file to continue the editing.
Also, when I complete editing a photo and "save as" a JPEG file I keep getting the dialog box which asks if I want to save the changes made. What am I doing wrong in "save as"?

Okay, you didn't mention that you've also got iPhoto involved in this. If you want to use organizer, don't try to use iphoto at the same time, and vice versa.
If you do want to use iphoto, you're going about it in a way that can cause a lot of grief down the road. To use iphoto with PSE you have two options:
1. Set PSE as your external editor, send the photo from iphoto, save (not save as) without changing the name or format and iphoto will keep your last edited version plus the original.
2. Export from iphoto to the desktop, use file>Open in PSE, save the edited photo under a new name and reimport it to iphoto as a new file. More details here:

I still don't really understand exactly what you're doing, but I can tell you for sure you're making this immensely harder than it needs to be.

I receive an error message stating elements organizer 13 has stopped working. How do I fix this?

Finally found a representative that fixed my problem here's what to do for Windows 8
1. Launch Elements Organizer
2. Click on Help > System Info
3. In system Info Dialog,you will see a Current Catalog category.
4. Copy the location mentioned adjacent to Catalog Location.
5. Now press (windows +R) buttons to open the Run Dialog and paste the location you copied
6. This will open the folder containing your catalog.
7. Search for 'thumb5.cache' entry there and rename it to thumb5_old.cache
8. Now, relaunch Organizer and wait for some time. If the files are heavy, EO will take some time in generating thumbnails.
Please let me know if it does not help.

PSE10 still shows "edit in progress" even when file in CS6 is closed

I have used PSE for years and love the Organiser to store and navigate round my photos. I've considered Lightroom, but have stuck with PSE10.
I've got the trial of CS6 and am considering purchasing. I have a problem though. If I edit in CS6, do my adjustments, save the file then close it, it still shows up as edit in progress in my PSE10 photo well. This happens with whatever photos I edit in CS6. Very annoying as they are then locked. My only option is to close PSE10 where a warning comes up about changes being lost, re open it and all is well.
Why does PSE10 think the photos are still being editied in CS6 even though they have been saved and closed?

What I have tried is after closing the file in CS6, then opening the file in PSE editor and closing that trying to "trick" the organiser into thinking it has been closed, but no luck.
I have no problem with PSE organiser and PSE editor. As soon as I close the file in the editor it becomes live again in the organiser. This is just with editing in CS6 then closing the file.
After a heavy edit session I will have numerous "edit in progress" messages over my organiser with the only way of clearing to shut down and re open PSE.
Annoying to say the least!

I bought PSE12 to fix this problem I had with PSE11, but it didn't, Immediately after accessing PSE12 Orhanizer, I get the Windows message saying "Elements Organizer 12 has stopped working". It then forces me to close the program.

Did you change the pref settings? If not give it a try.
Close Organizer and go to:
C:\Users\99jon\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\12.0\Organizer
Substitute your own user name or click the Windows start button
Then click your name followed by AppData
In the Organizer folder re-name the psa file as psa_old
Close the folder and re-launch Organizer
If you can’t see AppData it may be a hidden system file. Follow these steps to display hidden files and folders. Then rename psa.
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.

Go back to the editor and close the photo there.

There is no standard field for faces. To transfer information you must put it in the standard place that the new program will use. That does not exist for faces. One work around would be to use keywords. You include the available metadata in a photo by checking all if the boxes when you export the photo(s). Thank you for responding. Nothing actually worked! After reading the posts online, I called Apple. They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades. The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did! But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.

I have no idea if they will charge you a fee for the service ($40 US dollar/hour). It might not even help you (fee or no fee) because you do not have the latest version of Premiere Elements.
What you ask is easy enough. Let me try again with a step by step to see if we can get this working for you in principle and then fine tune the details.
1. Export your Timeline to a file, using Publish+Share/Computer and then one of the choices
Adobe Flash Video, MPEG, AVCHD, AVI, Windows Media, QuickTime, Image, Audio. I do not know what your project settings are, but I am going to guess at NTSC/AVCHD/Full HD1080i30. That would represent 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second.
The following is going to be a mini test run in principle so we will cut to the core and overlook some things.
Go to Publish + Share/Computer/AVCHD/ and set Presets = MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080p30.
Note that there is a field for Save In: near where you set Presets. Set the Save In for Libraries/Documents not C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 11. Keep out of the Program Files for matters such as these.
Go to the Elements Organizer 12 File Menu/Get Photos and Videos/From Files and Folders and then browse to and select your MP4 file that you have saved in Libraries/Documents.
You now should have your video represented in the Elements Organizer 12 with a thumbnail.
Please let us know if that works for you. If not, then please let us know where you need supplemental help to get the task completed. I will re-write if necessary.

Add On...A little side note for later...If you took your file saved to the computer hard drive and imported that back into Premiere Elements with Premiere Elements' Add Media/Files and Folders, you would get
a. the file imported into a new project
but also
b. a copy of the file automatically placed in the Elements Organizer 12.
If the ideas seem overwhelming, please take the steps on one at a time and follow exactly what is written. You should do fine.

The workflow with the organizer is to use the 'import' button in the organizer. If you 'import' from camera or card reader, the picture files will be copied where you want on your computer and an entry will be created in the catalog with the file properties and a small thumbnail. If your pictures are already on your computer, there will be no copy, only the creation of a new entry in the catalog database.
From the organizer, you can organize and choose the files to 'open' in the editor.
If you skip the 'import' phase in the process and 'open' files directly in the editor, you can use the 'save as' command in the file menu; be sure to tick the checkbox to include in the organizer and if you want, to create a version set.

Do you really mean MB (megabytes) or GB (gigabytes) ?
Even if its GB, the free space may be enough, depending on your files size, especially with videos or raw files.
When you start the backup process, it first shows you the total size of the catalog.
