Edit In to CC 2014 from Lightroom

I have the Edit In dialog in Lr set to send tifs to CC 2014 (the topmost item in the dialog).  I don't remember whether I changed the Lr preferences to CC 2014 or whether the CC 2014 installation did it but it works.   But when CC was installed originally it added 4 more Edit In options at the bottom of the Edit In dialog.
Open as Smart Object in Photoshop
Merge to Panorama in Photoshop
Merge to HDR in Photoshop
Open as layers in Photoshop
These are still set to CC (original).  Where do I change the link for these 4 choices?

  • Photoshop crashes when I use Edit in Photoshop CC 2014 from Lightroom 5.6

I have Adobe Lightroom 5.6.  Whenever I try to Edit in Photoshop CC (2014) when Photoshop has not been started, Photoshop immediately crashes with a message of:
Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 cannot be opened because of a problem.
This happens regardless of what option I choose to Edit in:  1) Copy with Lightroom adjustments, 2) Copy, or 3) Original
If Photoshop is already open, I don't have this problem.
I am running Mac OS X Mavericks.  Everything is up to date.
    How can I correct this?

That is not an application crash - that is a kernel panic, which means there is a hardware defect, a bug in the OS or a bug in a low level driver (like parts of the video driver).  Kernel panics are not caused by applications, but by defective hardware or bugs in the OS and drivers.
Resetting prefs may avoid the settings that triggered the crash - but the cause remains in the hardware, OS, or driver code.
Since Apple is not going to update the drivers in 10.6.8, your best bet is to update the OS when you can, and hope the new drivers are in better shape.  Unfortunately, it is also possible that you just have a bad GPU or video RAM - and fixing that would require replacing the video card or system (in the case of laptops or all-in-one machines).

I just downloaded Photoshop CC 2014 and uninstalled Photoshop CC.  Lightroom is updated as well.  However, now when I try to "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014" from Lightroom, the app will open but it does not load the photos I chose to edit.  How can I fix this?

    Hi Karen
You may the sort set to Custom. Click the dropdown menu on the toolbar (to the right of the word sort) and change to capture time.
If you can’t see the toolbar above the filmstrip press the T key. Press T again to hide.

  • Image not being opened in Photoshop cc 2014 from Lightroom

I am using the latest lightroom and photoshop.  When I go to an image in lightroom and right click, select edit in Photoshop cc 2014, it opens Photoshop straight away but it does not pass the image along... Any suggestions?

I've tried everything I can think of to no avail.  It takes several minutes now to load an image from Lightroom into PS CC 2014.  PS CC 2014 is already open.  I just noticed a pattern.  If I edit a file (TIFF) format that has already been edited in PS and saved back to Lightroom, it loads very quickly.  However, if I am trying to process a RAW file, that is when I notice a significant lag time.furth
SUCCESS!!!  Upon further investigation and seeing issues from other members regarding RAW cache issues I decided to move my RAW cache file path in LR to a different drive.  That seemed to fix the last issue.  I think the drive I had selected is going bad.  So the reinstall fixed my integration issues between LR and PS CC 2014 (thanks to everybody who suggested that) and changing my RAW cache file path seems to have fixed the last of my performance issues.  Now to reinstall my plugins and get back to editing my clients' images!

  • When I take a photo and try to edit in Photoshop Elements 11 from Lightroom 4, it brings me to PSE 11 and opens the photo in there, but doesn't allow me to do anything - no layers, masks...anything.

I work on a PC - Windows Vista, and currently use Lightroom 4. When I try to choose the 'edit in' option and go to PSE11, it will go there and open the file, but it won't let me do anything with it.  All the buttons/masks...etc are faded out and when I scroll over them a circle with a line through it comes up. Is there any way to fix this so that when I edit-in from Lightroom to PSE11 that I can actually use it? And if not, how should I save my files then so I can re-open them in PSE11? Would they need to be JPEGs, or something else? I shoot in RAW.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hillsitter,
I use a Windows PC and PSE Version 8.
However, I set up the link to PSE by going to Edit > Preferences and
clicking on the External Editing Tab.
I then clicked on the 'Choose' box and browsed to > Program Files > Adobe >
Photoshop Elements 8.0 and I then clicked on the Elements Organiser 8.0.exe
file to create the Link to the Elements Organiser. I could have linked to
    the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe file.
I know this will be somewhat different on a Mac but the principle should be
the same i.e. link directly to the .exe file.
    I hope this helps.

  • Editing files in Elements 7 from Lightroom 2

I currently do most of my processing in Lightroom 2. Occasionally I need to use Elements 7 to carry out some minor adjustments but when I use the "Edit in.." option, in Lightroom, and the picture opens, Elements does not open up the full edit window as it should do for a RAW file and I lose funtionality in Elements; e.g crearting panoramas, making alighnment corrections. The picture opens a tiff or DNG file type.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it my settings in Lightroom or is it the settings in Elements? I am posting this question in both forums.
    Thanks
    Stuart

Thanks. i have some panorama's to stitch and this does seem to be something Lightroom cannot manage. The book I have "The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2" give the instruction to edit in Photoshop. Perhaps it can be done in CS4 etc but not elements. Any suggestions on the best workflow that will enable me to edit in RAW and then create the Pano?
My thoughts are to edit and then export the RAW files back to the original folder before opening them up from the File, Open command in Elements. A bit messy though. Would you say it is easier to create the Pano in Elements and then "save as" Photoshop RAW file type?
Another reason for using Elements is correcting perspective?

  • Saving edited image back to photoshop from lightroom

In Lightroom 4 and Photoshop cs5 I could export to Photoshop from lightroom...edit....then save and the edited photo would go back to Lightroom complete with edits. Now in LR5 and CC the edited image does not go back to LR I have tried syncing no avail...any idea?

I just recently started trying to use my Photoshop CS3, after acquiring it 3 years ago, and never quite getting around to tackling it, since I was still using good old PS v.7.0. I finally made the leap. What a shock! The CreativeSuites version is entirely different from the old versions, and, so far, impossible for me to figure out. Most of the functions I was used to are drastically reconfigured from standard PS's. (I'm going to have to get a Users' Manual or take another class.)
One thing I DID figure out is the function you are questioning. Export a downloaded iPhoto shot - from your iPhoto - to the desktop; Open Photoshop and open the iPhoto shot (will be in the Preview mode) in Photoshop, save as a Photoshop tiff,  and do whatever editing, retouching, etc. in Photoshop. Save, and then from iPhoto, import - fom desktop - back into iPhoto Library.
If anyone know where i can get a comprehensive (beginners") manual on how to use the CreativeSuite version of Photoshop, please communicate! (After 3 years, I can't locate any manual that may have come with the software and there is no PDF version that I can find on line. I am completely mystified.)

  • Edit in Photoshop not working from Lightroom

Hi, I've just upgraded to CS5 and LR 3.2. From within LR I can Edit in Photoshop Elements but the Edit in Photoshop doesn't work. Just get some screen refresh flashing around, "Loading" displays then nothing. Even with CS5 already up and running. Anyone got any good news for me?
    John

If configuring it as above didn't work, did you by chance, after doing the upgrade, remove an earlier adobe product?  This often happens when people upgrade by installing CS5 and LR, then uninstall CS4, for example.  You need to (easiest way) reinstall CS5 and LR should be able to see it.
There are other threads in the archive about it..
If, of course you haven't uninstalled anything, then there are other remedies in the archives as well (including a registry update method).
    In any event, good luck!
    Cheers!

  • Edit in Photoshop Elements 9 from Lightroom 3 on a Mac

I can't seem to get the PS9 to open properly with my photo.  So I'm in LR3 and I right click and select 'edit in photoshop elements 9'.  It asks me if I want to 'edit a copy with lightroom adjustments' - I say yes and click 'edit'.
PS9 opens and I see the welcome screen with the PS9 editor behind it but neither have my photo loaded.  I can close the welcome screen but the editor still doesn't have my photo loaded.
How do I get PS9 to open my photo so I can edit it?
Any help appreciated - I'm probably just missing something simple but it's eluding me...

  • I cannot edit a photo in photoshop from lightroom?

Command E does not work?  I have downloaded and reinstalled both programs without success?

Others have this same problem. See discussion at Re: Photoshop CS6 does not open or create files
I finally got CS6 to work but have no idea what I did that caused it to start working properly again.

  • I cannot get a picture to transfer from lightroom 5 to elements 13 premium to edit?

I have up dated lightroom and have just installed elements and whenever I try to edit by transfering  a copy from lightroom to elements I get a waring pop up that says it cannot read in any format i choose. (psd.tiff etc) ??

When you click Cmd+E a dialog appears and you choose to export toPSE as PSD or tif with Lightroom settings. LR usually adds the word Edit to the original file name.
After you finish in editing in Elements and press Cmd+S to save you should get prompted to overwrite the existing file. You must say yes e.g. to overwrite the file that Lightroom exported to PSE. If you choose a different name or file format then Lightroom won’t know anything about it.
Finally when you Press Cmd+W the image should close in Elements and your PSE adjustments will show up on the Lightroom copy. Use that for print, slideshow or to export a jpeg from Lightroom.

  • Problem uninstalling Photoshop CC & opening images from Lightroom

I have installed Photoshop CC 2014 on my Windows 7 64 bit PC and want to uninstall the previous CC version.  However, when I try to uninstall I get the attached message. I have followed all the instructions and still keep getting this message.  I have run the Cleaning Tool but it doesn't list the CC version only the 2014 under Creative Cloud. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I don't need 3 versions of PS on my PC.
My second problem is that when I click on Edit in Photoshop CC 2014, in Lightroom 5.5, it opens Photoshop but the image doesn't appear.  It was working initially but for some reason has stopped working.

Im running on the latest version of osx and having the exact same problem with opening files in photoshop cc 2014 from Lightroom. Would be great if someone had a fix for this.

  • Saving from Lightroom to elseware on PC

    Hi There-
I am a very new user to Lightroom and would like to know if you can save an edited or worked on photo from Lightroom to elseware on the computer. I looked for a "save" or "save as" option ion the "file" in the upper toolbar, but it did not have anything like that.
Thanks for looking and look forward to your reply.
    Sincerely- Doug

There's no save command because saving should not a normal part of your workflow in Lightroom. After you are done editing, LR remembers your edits automatically, so no save is needed. To display your edits, you fire up Lightroom, and it will display your edits.
Should you want to use a photo outside of LR (like for e-mail, or uploading) you could do a File->Export, and which creates a copy of your edited photo anywhere you want it to go.

  • Edit In doesn't work in Lightroom 5.5 from Photoshop CC 2014

Edit In doesn't work in Lightroom 5.7.1 from Photoshop CC 2014 even after uninstalling and reinstalling both LR and PS (2014.2.2). Suggestions?

Thanks for your response. When you choose "edit in PS" in LR, PS will open but the file from LR never opens. I had this problem before and uninstalling LR and PS then reinstalling fixed the problem. The problem has returned and the above solution does not work. I even used "Adobe CC Cleaner Tool" from Adobe to now avail. Opening PS first does not help.
Also the Automate->Photmerge function no longer works. Maybe Adobe will be able to help on when tech support is available on Monday.
