Edit link styles

What is going on here? When I edit the default link style in the hyperlinks drop down box at the top of the muse design page i cannot get the new style to apply to a link?
The new link style is listed, but when I try to apply it to a link on the site, it does not work
Yes I can use the states panel, but the link styles is supposed to be a shortcut
What is the trick? What am I missing?

The style is saved in the same boz under hyperlinks as the default link style
But when I create a link, I cannot get the new style to be applied
I found this last night
First create the link style, and then create the textbox with the text in it. Once done, select the text (not the textbox), and then make it a link (this will pick up the default link style). Now if you apply the link style to the textbox it will pick up the new style. The catch here is to make the text a hyperlink by selecting the text. Check this short video here: http://screencast.com/t/JWGGXlNsl
Is there another solution?
Thanks

I thought I was going to figure this out, but it's making me crazy. In Adobe Muse can you change the 'default link style'?
I've tried making a new style and applying it, but no matter what I do it won't stick. Any ideas would be helpful.

  • Style EDIT LINKS pencil button in top Navigation

On the top navigation of my site I've styled the menu with CSS and a custom master page.  However the 'EDIT LINKS' pencil button is an image coming from spcommon.png as an HTML <img> and it is an incorrect color.
How to do I change this image or replace the spcommon.png with my own version?

    Hi Justin,
The icons in SharePoint sites are generated via sprites, you could type the url in the picture in your original post :
    http://sp/sites/sitename/_catalogs/theme/Themed/
    D9FA9D0B/spcommon-B35BB0A9.themedpng?ctag=5
It will display a picture as below, and different themes have different pictures like this.
You could use SharePoint Color Palette Tool to generate theme as you like. Then import the file into the Themes Library :
    http://sp/sites/sitename/_catalogs/theme/Forms/AllItems.aspx .

  • Text Link Styles not working in Footer Section

I have a master page with a footer that has three columns of navigation text links inside.
In order to match my design I have created a customer text link style for these links.
However when I preview my site (in muse and browsers) the roll over effect (should show an underline) doesn't work.
I've searched the forums and found that someone else had a similar problem and it was down to them having a paragraph and character style stacked on top of one another. However I have checked this on my links and this is not the case.
NOTE: I have already successfully managed to create a similar style that resides in a side bar navigation panel in some of the sites internal pages and these link styles are working fine.
So, I'm not sure if the file has become corrupt or if I'm missing something that I've done wrong?
One question I have is at which point to you apply the text link style?
    1. By clicking on the line of text to select it?
        OR
    2. By clicking further into the text box; as if you were editing it, then selecting all of the characters in the word you want to make a link. With the word selected, click on the style name in the Character Panel to apply it?
        OR
    3. as with the above example, once you have selected all of the characters in the word you want to make a link. Click on the Hyperlink drop down arrow (from the main toolbar) and choose the style name you wish to apply, from the drop down box 'Text Link Style'
    NOTE:
    I'm running version v2.3, Build 50, CL 771675
    AIR Runtime: 3.5.0.600
    UPDATE:
I couldn't wait any longer, so I just deleted the text boxes and styles and re-created them both and they seem to work now. Lot of additional work though that I'd rather have not had to do.

  • Edit link in item region portlet is displayed with unwanted banner

I have several item repositories in the form of pages published as portlets. When adding these portlets I often check the option to display the edit link. When the link is displayed on the page it always shows up with a banner in a completely different color than what is set in the page style. How do I get rid of this, or where can i find the default setting for this so I can hard code it to white or something?

You cannot change the style of the edit banner in the page portlet.

  • Folder region edit links disappear!

    All,
    3.0.7.6.2 + 8.1.6.2 NT 4.0
Created a custom tabset and added it as a portlet to the content area page. then moved the nav bar and folder portlets around. Now when I go to edit the folder style (to edit the folder layout), I don't see the edit links for the folder regions.
I did this twice and get the same problem. Also, when I click on the edit defaults for the content area folder (while editing the CA page), I get a no data found error. I am able to edit defaults for the nav bar.
    Any tips ?
    Thanks

    Jerry,
I tried this in multiple ways and have been able to narrow it down to the following case - "It occurs only if you have more than one regions in your page that is placed in place of the Navigation bar portlet". Please try the following steps and see if you can reproduce the bug...
    1. Create a page and
    a) select the Display No Banner option in the Main tab.
    b) add a new region to the page(Now there will be two regions). Don't place any portlet on the page.
    c) select the Publish as Portlet option for the page.
    d) save the page and go back to Navigator.
    2. Create a new content area.
    a) Edit the page of this new content area and remove the Navigation bar portlet.
    b) Now add the page created in step #1 (above) to the region where the Navigation portlet was.
    c) Save the content area page and go back to Navigator
    3. Click on the contents for the content area created above
    a) select the Styles.
    b) Click on the Edit link for the style
    c) select the Folder Layout tab.
.... do you see the "Edit Folder Region" icons in the folder portlet?
    null

  • Edit Link on Interactive Report

I have an Interactive report with the edit link on each record to call a form. Is it possible for the edit link to show on specific records (instead of all)? I have a security requirement where the users shouldn't be allowed to edit (go the maintenance form) certain records.

I'm not sure if u're talking about default link?
If yes u can ignore that one and try to insert Your own image or link as ' a href=... text /a ' as Link
in a href U can use javascript, or write page url - it should work
and now answer about Your question - "text" can be inside decode or nvl (nvl2) function where u can combinate with all kind of sql functionality (as query) to specify when it should show text or when it should show null (when it's null U can't clisk on this.
edit: or as Roel wrote ;) - more easier way

  • How can you have two link styles on one page?

I have one style (formatted link style) for internal links in
my footer but I want a different style for the external links in my
mainContent. Is it possible to have two different "styles" of links
on one page? I tried creating a new set for the mainContent links
and being positioned underneath my footer link's styles, the "new"
mainContent link styles overrode the footer link style. Is there

  • How do I edit links on a document that can't be modified?

This is probably not the right way to put this question, because I was editing links to attached PDF files and then saved the main document to test the links.  There was a problem with one link, but when I reopened the document to work on it, I could no longer edit the links.  I checked security, and everything was greyed out and said the document could not be modified.
What did I do wrong?  This is all in Acrobat 9.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, at long last, an answer.  Thanks for the helpful suggestions.  It did turn out to be a security problem.
The PDF/A idea turned out to be the right clue.  The base document I was working with was a composite.  I had taken one PDF file and added a two page PDF document on the front.  As it turned out, the two page document added at the front was in PDF/A.
However, before I discovered that, I found a workaround.  As long as I did a "save as" after adding links the document remained editable after reopening.
It was a hassle to "save as" every time I came to edit, but I needed to have the two page document on the front.  I tried to print the two page document to PDF to get rid of the PDF/A, but that didn't work within Acrobat.  I was finally able to get rid of the PDF/A by printing through the CutePDF driver.
Upon reflection, I think the reason my workaround worked was that the "save as" got rid of the PDF/A.
    Thanks again for your suggestions.

  • Edit link not working in IE 10 browser after fetching 5000+ rows

    Hi,
    OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.7.150120
    IE 10
We have an issue where IE browser misbehaves after fetching 5000+ rows.  By misbehaves, I mean the browser responds extremely slow while scrolling up, down, left, right.  Worst behavior is the "Edit" link on the report does not work.  There is no action!  If I navigate to the my home page and try to edit some other report/analysis, same -- no action.  I am able to run other reports but cannot edit any one of them.  Edit link does not work for any report going forward.  If I log-out properly, close the browser window and log back in, only then am I able to edit reports.
I tried clearing the browser cache several times but this keeps happening.
This issue is specific to IE only, not Firefox or Chrome. However IE 10 is the corporate browser and switching to any other browser is not a solution.
Has anybody faced this issue?  Any help in troubleshooting will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi skull,
Just to make it simpler ... don't start touching your settings for java heap memory or your account setting to define the default tab when editing an analysis as they have no link with your issue.
Setting the criteria tab .... well ... as you can't click the edit link you will never get till the criteria tab, so it will not help you a lot (but it's good to set it in case you often edit huge analysis with tons of rows as it doesn't fire a query every time you open it).
For the java heap memory I can't really see how Chrome or Firefox would behave in a different way on a server side setting like that one.
So to avoid having multiple other nice issues later don't change settings around without being sure 100% it will have an impact on what you are debugging.

    Helo,
How to hide edit link for some rows in report? (according to value of column)
    regards
    siyavuş

    Hi siyavuş
You can do this by taking the edit link off the report and putting it into your report SQL.
Use something like Select CASE WHEN (condition)  THEN
'Put your edit link in here as an html Anchor like<a href="(target)">Edit</a>'
    ELSE
    tt.value
    END edit_link
    FROM test_table tthope it helps,
    Gus..
