Edit MSS compansation planning (ECM)-IVew

Hi
I am having one requirement i need to edit MSS compansation planning (ECM)
IVews , this might be standard package and i am added software component(SE)
to NWDI. and i created one track
after loging to NWDS i can see only software components i did't see any imported packages to modify respective IVew.
is it nessary to do checkin? please let me know the process to modify the existing IVew.

You have to import the MSS package at the NWDI, create a track and make the changes.

New salary is not updating in MSS Compensation Planning (ECM)

Hi
In MSS Compensation Planning (ECM) iView, when we are applying a percentage increase for a particular employee the new salary column is not updating when we press enter or recalculate. The value is changing intially when we press refresh property for the iView, for the next time the value is not changing even when we press the refresh also.

our new salary is same as the compensation amount....
but what we are looking for is
new salary = compensation amount +annual base salary
Where do we do this?

MSS: Compensation Planning Scenarios (deselect users u00BF?)

Hello
we are using EP NW2004s with Manager Self Service Business Package for ERP 2005.
We have a problem in Compensation Plannig scenarios.
When we clic on the iview, we see ALL employees selected (check box on the left hand side are selected)
What we want is when accesing Compensation planning iview, display employees with check box unselected.
Do you know how to do it¿?
any parameter on ivew¿?

Did you check with OSS? We have ECM up & running and completed two annual merit cycles in MSS. Never had this issue..

MSS Compensation Planning Notes Column Stroing garbage

Hi ,
Notes column in Compensation Planning ( MSS 600 , EP 7) when edited and long text ( > 78 )is entered is storing garbage.
I know the line/ row length of a the table communication the rfc is 78 fixed.
The problem is that the code below is correctly cutting the text of lines of 78 each but then does not store the table with multiple rows only the top row gets over written and stored.
Any ideas - how to add multiple rows to it ( the line highlighted ) -

Edit MSS 60.1 iView

Hi,
EP: 6.0 SP14
SAP: 4.70 X200
MSS : 60.1
I need to make a couple of changes to the standard worksets. NWDI is not configured. So can I simply install NWDS and make the required changes to these iViews by importing the PAR files and adjusting them, or is there something else to be done? I have read something about using Content Mirroring here but not sure if I need to use it before updating the source files. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for the reply. Can you please highlight why I'd need PDK? I have seen quite a few posts on this forum but none have mentioned about PDK so far. The procedure mentioned so far is to simply download the PAR file from Portal, Import into NWDS, adjust the application, and upload back into portal. Please correct me if I am wrong. What is PDK giving??? Wouldnt the application compile without it? Is there anything else to consider such as deployment descriptors???

Carousel content cannot be edited under current Plan

Hello, I set up a trial site using the Adora template which employs a Carousel 'app'. After upgrading to a paid plan (webBasics+) and going live, the carousel content is visible but I cannot edit it or even access the files any more. Does this mean I need to upgrade to a higher priced plan, and which one is the minimum required to give me access to Carousel content editing? This is sort of disappointing already, I considered the Carousel part of 'dynamic' content and not really an 'app', so I anticipated being able to use it under my current plan. Also, there was no warning whatsoever when I went live, that my current content would not be compatible with the plan I was choosing.
Related to this, there doesn't seem to be a way for taking a live site offline and back to trial mode, for working on new features not available under one's paid plan. Or is there?

That is not stopped by the plan. That is HTML and JavaScript and inline. The ability to create multiple items and just input content and everything lose happens for you uses web apps.
These you need to have a higher plan for.

MSS - compensation planning - compensation profile page

Dear All,
I have a question regarding a simple customization of a Standard SAP content page.
In the Compensation Planning iview, after the search is done a list of employees is displayed. Then single employee name is selected, and new window is launched displaying the compensation profile page:
pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.pages/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hcm/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.compensation_profile
I would like to hide some of the iviews that are shown in this page, however since it is Standard SAP content I do not want to modify the provided by SAP page. I plan to make a delta link copy of this page however my problem is that I do not know how to point the link from the result list in the Compensation Planning iView to the customized Compensation Profile page.
Any help is appreciated.

You are right Veneliin.....to achieve your desired result you have to first copy the standard compensation profile page and paste it as delta link in your own folder.
Now you need to open the MSS role that you are using..(I believe it is your own custom role..)
Navigate to MSS (Role)-> Overview -> Team -> Employee Information..
You will find a page called "Compensation information" in it...
Delete this page and replace it with your own copied (as delta link) page.
Now you can modify your custom compensation information page....
Any doubts then revert back.

MSS - Compensation Planning and Approval Issues

Hi Experts,
We are implementing MSS for one of our clients (only MSS) and face a few issues.
1. The Submitter is able to view and approve the Compensation plan for his reportee........instead it should be the submitters manager who should only be able to approve ie Compensation approval should be done by M+1 level but it is right now done by the manager himself. How can this be done? Any setting through which we can restrict this?
2. We would like to restrict the Compensation submission to the Managers only. While we are testing we found that one of us who is not a manager can still create and submit the Compensation change. We don't want this to happen so that even by error the MSS Role is assigned to a non-manager, he should still not be able to make any changes.
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

Did you resolve your issue? what MSS version you are using for Compensation Planning and Approval, are you able to see employees for Approval in Planning Overview Application, even i am not able to Employees for Planning Overview Appliation, i am able to see employees in Compensation Planning Application only.
Please help me on this configuration for Planning Review of Compensation, is there is any IMG configuration is required for view employees, Approval and rejections through Planning Overview.
Please help me on this one.

MSS - Compensation Planning

All,
For MSS ERP 2005 Web Dynpro based business package, can you please point me to some direction which will let me to configure the FPM based Compensation Planning Page.
According to the documentation http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/90/a5391ed9a64c9b9986c3e669632968/content.htm
the integration section mentions that we can launch the compensation profile from this page. But I am not sure how to implement this.
Adding other iviews like Long Term Incentives, etc to this pages doesn't automatically populate the data. I am missing some steps on configuring the FPM application.
Can you please help?

But we are not making any customization.It should work by default .When an error is coming for a manager in display then the manager cannot be able to go and save the compensation increase for that employee or employees .So,my question is there any note for this problem.

MSS Headcount planning-status 'Planned'

Hello All,
When Manager performs man power planning through Headcount Planning service in MSS, the number of manpower requisitons are getting updated into the IT1019 with "Active" planning status.
As per our requirement we have to capture these requisitions in IT1019 with "Planned" planning Status.
Do we need to make any specific settings for MSS?
Note: We are on ECC 6.0

Make sure your user ID is linked to employee who is manager of an org unit.

Add a button to MSS Compensation Planning screen

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement from my client to add a button in Compensation Planning screen to Download the list.
However, I couldn't find a configuration in IMG to add it.
The Compensation screen is a WDJ and we do not have Java expert in our team to enhance it.

Unfortunately you will have to implement Enhancement Pack 5 to have this functionality in standard. Otherwise you do have to modify the Java coding.

I need help because I would like to print a billing plan with VA02.
I 'm going to link this billing plan with output types of my sales order.
For example, when I save my sales order, I would like that the billing plan print automatically.
Somebody could tell how I ccoud do it?

Hi,
You are right,we have to define a new form.
The logic on the form is:
Pass the sales order number in the table "FPLA".
Execute.
Fetch the Billing plan number from the field "FPLNR".
Pass this to the table "FPLT".
Execute.
You will get all the item details maintained in that order.
Goto the T.Code "NACE".
Select the application as "V1".
Click on "Output types".
Select your output type.
Click on "Processing routines".
Enter your form name here.
Take help from your ABAPer.

ESS/MSS - Floor Plan Manager - DC Model Modification

Hi,
We are working on ESS/MSS business package based on FPM framework (WebDynpro). We have a small requirement but implementation of this is causing hell lot of problem. So I am looking for expert opinion on this.
We are modifying Address Data DC for a specific country. This DC (essXXaddr) component is taking data from IT0006 (Address Infotype).
Requirements: Introduces additional fields (Not a Z field) on Address DC component (essXXaddr) from IT0105 (Communication) and update the same when user saves address data.
Solutions we tried are:
1. Create another model in DC based on Function Group:
HRXSS_PER_P0105_XX
and update SAP using its RFC.
Problem: Throwing error. If we debug the call in the SAP (ABAP side), we can see that the container (ABAP) is taking value of infotype 0006 and not 0105 when making a call to communication model and we are getting errors.
2. Create a ZRFC model in DC based on Function Group : Z_XX_P0105 and update SAP using this RFC.
Problem : Read operation is working fine. But modify operations is again throwing RFC_EXCEPTION. The RFC is working fine if called from in ABAP and update data as required but the call from DC is causing some context problem.
Also the problem associated with this solution is When to update the data? As such the standard MODEL HRXSS_PER_P0006_XX is saving data on pressing of SAVE Button and not on pressing on REVIEW button. But on pressing REVIEW button the DC is calling the MODIFY Std RFC and storing the data in the buffer and committing the work when SAVE button is pressed.
What should be the solution of this problem?

Note: We are using the correct Country specific DCs and RFC's. (XX -> DE, US etc)

You must modify the Java source code as well. You have to install NetWeaver Development Infrastructure to get access to the ESS source code.
