Edit pdf files with surface touch

how do i edit pdf files with surface win

Adobe Reader products (Reader XI desktop, Reader for iOS, Reader for Android, Reader Touch for Windows 8, etc.) are free and mainly focused on PDF viewing capabilities.
If you actually want to modify text or images in PDF or create PDFs from Word or Excel files, etc., you need Acrobat XI Pro or Standard (paid product).
The following page shows the product comparison for Acrobat/Reader XI for desktop.
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/product-comparison.html
If you have a Surface Pro (running the Windows 8 operating system), you can run Acrobat XI Pro or Standard in the desktop environment for editing PDFs.  However, if you have a Surface RT (running the Windows RT operating system), you are not able to run any of the Acrobat desktop products (including Reader XI) because they are not compatible with the Windows RT operating system.

Yes it can. Download a free trial and try it out.

  • Can I edit PDF files with PDF Pack?

can I receive an PDF file and make changes to that file with my Adobe PDF Pack. and then create attachments to this file once i have completed the changes?

    Hi maddog#1,
Adobe PDF Pack doesn't allow you to edit a PDF file; you need the full version of Acrobat for that.
Please let us know if you have further questions.

  • How do I edit a PDF file with Adobe PDF Pack?

How do I edit a PDF file with Adobe PDF Pack?

Well, you don't. Editing a PDF is a difficult and fraught business even with the most expensive software.
But PDF Pack lets you export to Word; then often you can edit in Word. Now you can make a new PDF. It might look like the original, or it might not. If small changes matter you might be out of luck. ON NO ACCOUNT USE THIS FOR GOVERNMENT FORMS.

  • Editing pdf files in Preview painfully SLOW with mavericks! Why? How to fix?

Editing pdf files in Preview is painfully SLOW with Mavericks! With mountain lion everything was so smooth .... Why? How can I fix this?

I stopped using preview. Adobe Acrobat Pro is running fine ... this is not a solution to the problem though. The question remains open: why is preview not running as before?
    Why did I upgrade?!

  • Is Adobe reader touch for windows 8 support interactive PDF files with multi media contents like SWF

I have many PDF files with SWF content i try Adobe reader X but it is slow, so i try Adobe reader touch for windows 8 but the SWF doesn't work.

The full featured Reader for Windows 8 is Reader XI.
Reader Touch works in all Windows 8 systems BUT it is intended mainly for use in mobile tablets - I see no particular reason to use it unless you can'r run Reader XI. Given it is mainly for use on mobile that can't use Flash, we aren't likely to ever see the development team spending their time on this.
If you want the latest and greatest - at least try Reader XI, not X! (Flash is a separate download, it will prompt).

  • Comments in a pdf file on Surface RT

The new adobe reader XI is great because it allows to insert directly comments on pdf files.
But I'm wonderind if I can be able to do so on the Surface RT tablet.
That's why i'm hesitating to buy the tablet.
    Please tell me.
Can I insert comments directly in a pdf file on Surface RT as on my laptop ??

Adobe Reader XI is a Desktop app that supports viewing and editing of comments.  It can only run on Intel-based processor PCs/laptops/tablets.
    What it means to you:
    * Microsoft Surface with Windows RT (currently available for purchase) or other ARM-based processor tablets
You will not be able to install and run Adobe Reader XI to view or edit comments.  However, you can use Microsoft Reader (built-in PDF viewer) to view and edit comments, instead.  Compared to Adobe Reader XI, Microsoft Reader's commenting feature is somewhat primitive and limited.
    * Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro (coming February 9, 2013) or other Intel-based processor PCs/laptops/tablets
You can install and run Adobe Reader XI to view or edit comments.
Adobe Reader for Windows 8 Tablets (Windows Store app) does not support viewing and editing of comments yet as of this writing.  But we are working on adding the support in the near future.

  • How do i move a picture from one pdf-file to another already created pdf-file with adobe reader?

  • How do I create an interactive PDF file with variable data

We would like to basically do a 'mail merge' of our list of customers with an interactive PDF file (including videos, menus, etc - not just form fill out and web links) to create a single PDF file that contains multiple mail pieces ... one for each customer ... with each mail piece being customized for that customer.  Customizations would include different greetings (Dear Bob, Dear Dana, etc), as well as different charts based on data unique to the customer, different photographs, etc.
I've seen that InDesign and Acrobat Professional can be used to create an interactive PDF (such as from http://tv.adobe.com/watch/ask-the-adobe-ones/14-calling-rufus-about-interactive-pdf-making).  However I don't understand how I can insert data from a database, csv file, excel file etc into the PDF file so that each page, or each set of pages, within the PDF can be customized.
Can anyone point me to a tool to use for this?
    Thanks,
    Bob Kendall

For that kind of volume and unattended operation, you want InDesign Server – which is the server/high volume edition of INDD.

  • Looking for help for sharing pdf files with ipad from mac.  Pages only recognizes text.  What app should I use for file sharing pdf documents?

Looking for advice on how to share pdf files with iPad from Mac.   Pages seems to only recognize text.   What app is recommended for pdf documents?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
If I understand your question, you want to read pdfs on your iPad, not create or edit.
Drag pdf files to the iPad icon in Finder while connected to your computer via the USB cable.
They will show up in the iBooks application
(If you don't already have iBooks, it's a free download from the App Store.)
Once installed, there are two buttons at the top left of the Bookshelf.
One is Books, the other is Collections.
Tap Collections, and you'll see Books and PDFs.
    Tap PDFs and you're there.

  • I can't use thunderbird 31.2.0 to send attachement from a pdf file with Acrobat PRO XI

I can't use thunderbird 31.2.0 (Mozilla) to send attachement from a pdf file with Acrobat PRO XI. Each time, Acrobat replies (in french) : "il n'y a pas de client pour la messagerie par défaut". Thunderbird is indicated as "by default" in the list of programs of Windows.
Even if I type my e-mail address, etc. in the account of Acrobat, it doesn't change. Each time, I have to record a PDF file in a folder and return to Thunderbird to send it as attached. It is a too long process,  compared with Windows XP with Acrobat Reader or Acrobat 5, I had before.
Would you please help me to explain the process. My OS is Windows 8.1.
    Thank you

    Thank you for your answer.
What i want to do : to send PDF files as attached documents in a message
generated by thunderbird by my e-mail address [email protected] or
    another one I have.
When I introduce my e-mail address under Edit-Preferences-Email
Accounts, Acrobat ask the e-mail account, the password, the IMAP for
ingoing message (and I use POP) and SMTP for outgoing messages. Even I
introduce all the datas, it doesn't change, Acrobat is unable to send
the message. And the process is not convenient, because I need all my
outgoing messages be documented inside Thunderbird.
So, I repeat my request : how can I use thenderbird as program by
default from Acrobat or any other software ?
Thank you for your next message.

Cannot open PDF files with Reader XI message appears Adobe Reader has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working

Which Operating system you are using?
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)] and then try to open the file.

  • Using Oracle "Import PDF" Extension in Open Office Draw to Edit pdf Files

I am a fairly new Mac user with OS X 10.6. For several months, I have been trying to find something which would edit pdf files better than Preview does (for example, the content of a text box in Preview can only be "center aligned"). Skim and FormulatePro were two options I tried that were improvements over Preview in many respects, but wouldn't let me paste an image onto my pdf (such as, for example, if I wanted to put my digital signature on a document).
Then, I "discovered" the Oracle PDF Import Extension which I had installed in Open Office months ago, but hadn't really used. By "discovered," I mean I read on somebody's blog that you could use Open Office Draw to edit pdf files and I thought, "Hey, I wonder if that would work with my setup." (Boy, do I feel stupid.)
I have just started using this functionality, but in just an hour or so of playing around, I have found that it has far exceeded my expectations and, even, my immediate needs. Besides giving you (a) all the control over text and text boxes that you would expect from, say, a word processing program and (b) allowing you to paste images onto your pdf, Open Office Draw also includes layers!
The layer function threw me off for a bit, because, at first, I kept finding that my attempts to edit the document resulted in grabbing the raster image and moving it "off" of the underlying text layer (a function, I will admit, that I think will be worth exploiting someday, but wasn't what I was looking for at the moment). Then, I discovered that you can "lock" the layer so as to prevent this annoying occurrence. To create your edits, simply create a new layer (call it "MyEdits" or whatever you want) and you're in business.
Anybody who has done anything more than drawn a couple of lines and boxes on a page has discovered that editing the overlapping objects can be a real pain - if not an outright impossibility. Separating these overlapping objects through the use of different layers solves the problem.
The only downside to the use of Open Office Draw as a pdf editing tool that I can see is that you must import the pdf, save your edits in odg format, and then export it to pdf when you're done. I know that we would all like to have the capability of doing everything I just described directly to the native document, but, hey, for all the functionality I have been searching the internet for weeks to find, I think it's a reasonable trade off.

    Try turning off protected mode.
