Edit Permissions for Facebook

I am trying to find how to edit permissions for facebook.  I go to options, applications and facebook is not listed under applications.  Then I went to the Application Center icon on my Blackberry 9560 click on Facebook but I don't have the option to edit permissions all that pops up are Help, Reinstall, Switch Application and close.  I have not been able to log on to Facebook all day today 7/23/2010.  When I try I get a message "A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server."  Is anyone else having this problem?  Any suggestions greatly appreciated!  Thank you.

Hi,
To get to the permissions for Facebook, go to Options>Applications.  By default, it will show the list of Third Party applications.  After the list loads, scroll to the top and change the list to Add On applications.  Facebook is under that list.  Go to Facebook application and do not click on it, simply have it highlighted.  Press the Menu key and select Edit Default Permissions.  There you can make changes.  Simply save after you make the changes you want.
On a side note, Facebook was having some problems today, and across a lot of various forums, users have been reporting Facebook connection problems.  So, yours might not be wrong, probably just Facebook.

  • Where are my edited iphotos for facebook upload?

I import photos to iphoto, edit them, then from facebook, click to upload those photos to an album. If the photos show up at all, they are the originals, not the edited. What's the problem?

Back to your original library and let's try repair it:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Could anyone advise how to set the schema editing permissions for a user id in eDirectory ?

  • Users cannot access Document Library althouth they have Edit permissions

    Hello,
I have a strange SharePoint 2013 case, or at least it's strange to me.
Users from the company cannot access a Document Library although I've granted them Edit permissions. The Inheritance from the parent have been broken, all inherited groups have been removed and all users have unique permissions to this library. Here is the
    setup:
    Web App -> Sub Site A -> Sub Site B -> Sub Site C -> Sub Site D -> Library
So these users have Read access from the Web App down to Sub Site B. They cannot see Sub Site C and D because these sites are also with broken inheritance and unique permissions. But I've granted Edit permissions for these users to the Library.
If I assign View permissions for these users to the Sub Site D then they can upload and edit documents in the library, but still cannot see Sub Site C which was my intention anyway. Again i don't want them to see Sub Site D either, but if i remove the View
permissions they can't access the library.
On SP 2010 this was not an issue. I'm not sure if here the permissions are different or not, but I've never seen such issue before.
Any ideas will be much appreciated. I hope the explanation is good enough to describe the issue.
    Many Thanks in advance.
    Ivo

    Hi Ivaylo,
According to your description, my understanding is that the user with only Edit permission on the library cannot access the library.
I recommend to check if the Limited-access user permission lockdown mode feature is deactivated in root site.
If it is not, deactivate it and then test to see if the issue still occurs.
To deactivate the feature, please go to the root site > Site Settings > Site collection features > deactivate Limited-access user permission lockdown mode.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

  • User Permissions for certain pages only possible?

I have a client interested in BC but I need to know if they can assign user edit permissions for certain pages to certain users? For example lets say they have pages  A B C D E F and they want Tom to be able to edit A B & C but not D E F and they need Sally to be able to edit D E & F but not A B & C. Is this possible with BC?

    Hi,
The option is to use and set a workflow for "content approval" to each page.
    Site settings -> manage workflows
"You can attach a workflow approval process to any web page or template. When an approval is attached to a web page or template, then all changes must be approved by predesignated users of the system before they go live. To attach a workflow to an item, click on the 'More Options' link and choose a workflow."
Site manager -> pages -> more options
    Hope this helps!

  • Unique permissions for Toplevel teamsite and NewForm.aspx?

Perhapse I dont know how to seach for this but I cant manage to find anything in the forums here that addreses this specifically.  If I am in error concerning that PLEASE point me in the right direction, otherwise this is my issue:
I have created a form based on a list I have created for capturing "engagements" (new task requests for a team within my department).  The goal of this form is to help us make record of (and track) tasks from other departments we get
in hallway conversations, emails or IM clients.  A way for us to say "yeah sure we can help you with that...but please go here and file a request so I have something to log my time aginst."  We call that request an "Engagement"
so my list is an "Engagement Request" list and it lives on our Sharepoint 2010 Team site.  *Yes I am aware there are a plethora of ticketing systems out there that might be able to better facilitate this but that isnt an option for us and I
am the poor sod tasked with making it happen  using Sharepoint.
What I am trying to do is set the permissions for the NewForm.aspx associated with this list so that anyone with a AD account can access it to create a new item (an "engagement request") but lock down access to the rest of the site..including
the list (because one person who is engageing us for a password rest has no business seeing the record/status of our other engagments.  At this point I have figured out how to route the users (who have previously requested and been granted access
to the site) from the Enagement form BACK to the the main menu so they dont automatically see the list.  Basically I added an image top the Top level team site that says "Engagment", linked it directly to the NewForm.aspx URL and
appended it with the "?source=https//" bit at the end which will re-direct the user back to the Toplevel site on save/submit rather than the Allitems display of the list they just added a new item (Engagment) to.
Ok now that I have explained all that...and I apologize for the overly verbose nature of this post but what I need to do is set it so that anyone with a valid AD account can access the top level site of the teamsite...and Add a new item to the engament list...
but that is all, nothing else.  I cant allow them to go into the other lists and libraries on the teamsite.  My research indicates that I can set unique permissions on things all the way down to files but I cant seem to wrap my mind around how to
grant automatic access to the toplevel site (and the NewForm.aspx) but NOT everything else.
I have been assigned as one of the owners of said site so I should have the required permissions to do this. Im just not sure HOW to do this.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    ~Confused SharePoint Teamsite owner

    Daniel,
Thank YOU for taking the time to reply!
Unfortunately I do not have the Enterprise version of SharePoint 2010 (and therefore no access to InfoPath form services) so I was forced to configure the permissions for the list using the browser interface.  As you suggested I configured the permissions
for the top-level site  in the collection as such so that anyone within the ADS\Domain users group was part of a custom "Name of My Department Visitors" group (separate from the default SharePoint "Visitors" group).
I then managed the permissions on that group to have "Contribute" access.  After this I made EVERYTHING under The Main Page unique secured.
I then went into the actual list that tracks the "engagements" and went to the List settings (via the ribbon) / Advanced Settings (under the General Settings heading) and set the "Create and Edit access:" option to "Create items
and edit items that were created by the user".
Using this setup I was able to log into the site using my test user account (which is part of the ADS\Domain users group) then access the "Engagement" New Item list and create an entry.  From here my re-direct dumped me back to the main page.
When I browse manually to that engagements listing I can now see (and Edit) the item I created (using my test user account) but NONE of the other items in the list.

  • How do I get past the "connection untrusted" pop-up for Facebook?

For Facebook, as well as FB apps like Words with Friends and Trivia Crack, I keep getting the "Connection is Untrusted" pop-up. I have to keep going out and coming back in, many times as often as a dozen tries, before the game app or the FB home page will load. How can the sites be "untrusted" when I'm in there 20 to 30 times a day? I want to override the "untrusted" decision.

The preguntados<i></i>.com site works fine for me.
Open this chrome URI by pasting or typing this URI in the location/address bar to open the "Add Security Exception" window and check the certificate:
    * chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul
In the location field type/paste the URL of the website
    * retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
    * inspect the certificate via the "View..." button
Subject: CN = *.preguntados.com OU = Domain Control Validated
Issuer: Go Daddy Secure Certification Authority
Try to rename the cert8.db file (cert8.db.old) and delete the cert_override.txt file in the Firefox profile folder to remove intermediate certificates and exceptions that Firefox has stored.
If that has helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file.
Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previously stored intermediate certificates.
Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.
If that didn't help then remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) as well.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

  • How to check whether a file got read permissions for perticular user

Problem: Let JRE is running with some x as effective user in LINUX then while checking file permission it is checking permission on that file for that x user.
    File f = new File(file name)
    if(f.exists())
         System.out.println(exists);
    Else
         System.out.println(does not exists);
The above code prints exists only when x user have permissions on that file
Requirement: I would like to check whether a file got read permissions for particular user i.e. whether y user got permissions on that file.
    Any help is appreciated

In Linux a user has to have read permission on a file to even see that it exists. As a result, if a user (or a group to which they belong) doesn't have read access to the file File.exists() will return false. Windows which doesn't have as tightly controlled access to files will admit that a file exists whether it can be read or not.
    PS.
This is proof that I should never answer a question off the top of my head when I haven't had my red bull yet. This is wrong. You will be able to see it if you have read and execute on the directory.

  • Users not visible in "Edit permissions..." in workspace

    Hi there,
I have created several users using user management console (we are using native directory). Users can log into workspace and working in it.
But I have problems with defining permissions for folders/reports in workspace. In "Edit permissions..." dialog I can see only "admin" user and "WORLD" group.
    Can anybody help me please?
    Thanks,
    Vlado

Hi, Try one of the following:
    1. Provision the native users with viewer role for BI+, if not done already
    2. For the folder, containing the reports, have these users being provisioned? Are you able to view the users with provisioning access to the folder?
    3. Do not put any filter for users and begins with combination to display all possilble users
Let me know if that works!

I am not sure how this works but it seems that it may be all or nothing.
To turn off Facebook events on your device:
    Settings > Facebook > Calendars > Off

  • Is adjusting permissions for LightRoom based archive management worthwhile?

I'm trying to set up an archive that is managed through a LightRoom Catalog. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and adjusted the permissions of their files to read only to ensure that LightRoom Catalog metadata changes do not alter or get saved to files.
I plan to have the archive set up in 3 locations with copies of the LightRoom Catalog. I will need to be able to add keywords and collections to a catalog at 2 of the locations. I am interested in using permissions to ensure that the catalog is the only file that needs to travel between the locations. I don't want to get into a situation in which altering the LightRoom Catalog might alter files and necessitate that I either save new metadata to files with each keyword/collection addition or that I regularly synchronize the entire archive to ensure all 3 copies of the archive are mirrors of one another.
I have three serious concerns about the longterm viability of managing file permissions:
    1. I worry that it will be difficult to manage the user/s who have the privileges to manage these permissions and that it will be difficult to do so in different locations and on different computers
    2. I worry about whether permissions management might introduce some form of file corruption
    3. I worry about the time involved in altering an entire archives worth of permissions to read only and the time involved in reversing this every time I want to unarchive content for new projects
I have also posted this question to Luminous Landscape here: Adjusting Permissions for LightRoom Catalog Based Archive Managment. Worthwhile?

... and adjusted the permissions of their files to read only to ensure that LightRoom Catalog metadata changes do not alter or get saved to files.
By default, Lightroom does not write anything to your photo files. Of course, there's no way to prevent a user from changing this default behavior and writing information to the files. I suppose making the directories read-only helps, but people could still change that. If the directories are on a server, then only the server admin could change the permissions.
    2. I worry about whether permissions management might introduce some form of file corruption
I never heard of such a thing, but this is an operating system issue, not a Lightroom issue.
I worry about the time involved in altering an entire archives worth of permissions to read only and the time involved in reversing this every time I want to unarchive content for new projects
I don't think you understand how Lightroom works. There would be no need to reverse anything to "unarchive" the content  — although in my opinion, the idea of "archiving" content in the first place doesn't feel right ... if the photos are imported into Lightroom at one time, leave them in Lightroom, don't go through an archive process removing the photos from Lightroom followed by unarchive process, that is something that is ineffective and causes numerous problems with non-expert users. When you import photos into Lightroom, the photos still remain on your hard disk somewhere, Lightroom does not actually keep a copy of the photo. Lightroom keeps pointers to the photo's locations and stores any metadata and edits. Removing a photo from Lightroom (archiving) is the equivalent of deleting the metadata and edits, and I cannot see a reason to do that.
So, bottom line, to answer your title question, "Is adjusting permissions for Lightroom based archive management worthwhile?" — without further discussion of your setup and goals, I see no reason to even spend your time on this, unless you are the server admin of the location where the photos are stored, in which case then the answer is go right ahead and make them read-only.

  • Issue editing template for website

So, I am new to Dreamweaver and constantly baffled about finding solutions to problems on my own.
My issue is this. I have been assigned the duty of updating and modifying our company's webpage. I had nothing to do with the creation of this page, so I am working with someone else's work.
http://www.csus.edu/isr/index.html     this is what I'm working on.
My problem had been editing this template that is used on all the other pages. I have a spry menu bar that has all of our menu options. I found a way to add a bar to that, at my company's request. The other edit I made to the page was adding buttons for facebook and twitter. I have updated the file on a local copy, saved it once seeing it worked well in the preview browser, and then replaced the file on the remote server. The template does not change at all. None of my changes are applied whatsoever.
Any idea why this is happening? I have no clue at this point. I have tried everything I could think of.
Do you think it has anything to do with editable regions, or what??? I have no clue
I would appreciate any response at all. Thank You.

Templates don't do anything at the server level.  They are a local site management tool in Dreamweaver only.
    Update Template.dwt file and save.
When prompted, populate changes to all child pages based on that template.
Upload child pages to your server.
Repeat this each time you edit the Template.

  • Edit Permissions ribbon buttons

Environnment: 3 mostly identical farms each has 2 app servers and 2 WFEs. I am web app and site collection admin on all farms and site collections.
Problem: In farm 3, when I go to the permissions settings, all buttons except the Modify ones (edit user permissions and remove user permissions) work. Modify buttons are greyed out (with "This control is currently disabled"). This is true
on every site, list and item in every site collection on farm 3 for all site collection admins and Full Control users. I can also add/remove users from SP groups. But can't edit group permissions.
I am however, able to edit permissions and remove users using powershell. I've looked at all the settings I can think of. I replaced the entire Template, Resources, BIN and User Code folders in the 14 hive with copies from the other farms
that are working. That didn't help. I tried replacing the service account with a fresh one, adding and removing entries in the hosts file, turning loopback on and off, clearing the config cache running the config wizard, updating the telerik files. The
logs and event viewer show no issues. I've not yet tried repalcing the config DB since the farm is in use and that downtime would need an announcement.
    Anyone ever see this before?

Issue resolved. This was caused by a KwizCom eval solution that was globally deployed. I retracted all globally deployed solutions and the issue went away. I re-deployed them one at a time and it stopped working after kwizcom got redeployed.
We also found that a function call that was messing with the permissions ribbon refresh function: _layouts/kwizcom_copymovespcontent/pagecomponent.js?v=11.0.10.1
I retracted and removed the kwizcom solution WSPs and the issue is now gone. Hope this helps someone later on.
