Edit pictures and graphics in a pdf document

I have many pdf documents that need new and updated logos (jpg images). How do I delete the old logos and replace them with the new one? I have Office 2010 and Acrob V10.1.4 but cannot find how to edit pictures.

If you only have a few to change, use the information on Deepak's link. It tells you how to use the Edit Object tool.
If you need to change a lot of them, you should really work on the original files - PDFs are not designed to be edited very easily. It's a simpler process in Acrobat XI but you still need to change each image by hand, one at a time.
Bill suggests exporting to Word (File > Save As > Microsoft Word) - that will give you editable content but will remove anything interactive about the PDF file and tends to mess about with formatting. It's very much a last resort option.

Realistically, that's just how it is. Text in a PDF file (unless it's very well-structured at the creation stage) is not laid out in a flowable 'story' as it is in Word, but is scattered about all over the place. Two lines of the same paragraph don't necessarily have to be connected, so deleting / adding a line break will often result in the remaining content moving about all over the place.
The best approach is to edit the original file and recreate the PDF, but if that's not an option then it gets messy. You may be able to open the page in Illustrator (where you could edit the text objects and reposition them if things act strangely) but that will break any interactivity or accessibility so is only a sensible option if the resulting PDF is only destined to be printed out.
If the page layout is relatively-simple, try exporting the PDF to Word (from Acrobat Pro), editing it and re-saving to PDF. Again it will lose any interactivity, but during the Save As step, Acrobat will try and guess the flow of the page content from where each item is positioned.

It is a generated pdf doc. I can highlight the text, but as soon as I let go of the mouse button, the highlighting disappears. If I right-click the mouse, there is no copy/past option. Only a select, zoom and marque tool option.

You need to use a PDF reader that supports multimedia. Adobe Reader 10.3 does not. Adobe has not stated whether it will support multimedia in the future.

I seem to have pixulated pictures and graphics on my iphone 3gs after the latest update

I am having an issue with a 3gs 32 gig iphone. I have blurry or pixulated pictures and graphics. Not on everything. The pictures in my photos file are ok. Games are ok. The Map App that comes with it, can barely read the streets. Seemed to have happened after the latest update which is 4.3.3. Any ideas? Thanks

I do not use many functions of acrobat PDF except converting word document into PDF or vice versa. Recently, I have a document in PDF format with pages of writing. What do I if I want to edit the document in PDF format, and to add or to delete certain pages to the PDF document? Currently, I do not have additional acrobat PDF software but the free downloaded Acrobat 8.0. I also have Mac OS 10.5.6. Can the new Mac OS do more without additional acrobat software?

open every document by Adobe Reader and add comments; sticky, underline....etc. This feature is Avalabe in Acrobat Reader Pro 9 i test it
it work fine, but i need to do same thing in commande line, i mean install a library or something else and i can do this operation by taping a command on shell terminal.

Unless you use Acrobat 8 Pro's Formatted Text & Graphics" or Acrobat 9 Pro's ClearScan you will find that there is no
practicable means of editing the OCR "hidden text" in a PDF.
The TouchUp text tool (Advanced Editing toolbar) is reliant upon the selected text having an available system font to use during touchup. However, both Searchable Image and Searchable Image (Exact) OCR output is of text rendering mode 3 (invisible text) that is provided from within Acrobat and not any installed system or other application installed font.
With Searchable Image (Exact) you have the untouched image augmented by the invisible text which is provided as a user aid for search or find with Adobe Reader or Acrobat. The invisible text is not intended to support word processor like editing.
To your questions:
#1. There is no practicable way to edit invisible text (text rendering mode 3) with Acrobat (any past or current release).
#2. None.
#3. A good question. Perhaps a specialty program. Keep in mind, many products provide a promise but those those that actually deliver tend to be expensive.
Something to play with. Using Acrobat 9 Pro or Pro Extended, try the Preflight Fixup to embed hidden text.
Then try using the TouchUp Text tool. You may also want to see if you can change the font type of this newly embedded font.
(use copies of the "real" files - just in case <g>).

How do I leave editable text and images in a PDF?

I recently bought a flyer template and it came as an editable PDF. Here is one of the templates http://www.wendygarratt.com/images/flyer.pdf
Every field, both text and graphic object, is fully editable in the free Adobe reader. I have Acrobat X and have tried all the methods of producing something like this but nothing has worked. I wish to produce not just one page template PDFs that can be edited like the one above, but I also have a 20+ page magazine, which currently is distributed in PDF form and I wanted certain image and text fields within the magazine to be customisable too.
I design the magazine using InDesign and the exported pages are composed of 1 large background image with text fields laid over the top. I have tried exporting it as an interactive PDF, ticking the layers option for Acrobat, but when I try to create an editable form (Tools>Forms>Create>Open file) it does not recognise any of the text fields at all.
Can someone please help me before I slam my head repeatedly in a door? I have been searching for a solution for so long and I'm getting rather frustrated.

I know this was designed in LiveCycle and I have LiveCycle and Adobe Acrobat Pro X, but LiveCycle is new to me. I am a quick learner (I use Photoshop, InDesign, etc) and need help in getting started.
I am willing to work with someone to help get this sorted but it is urgent that I get to grips with this.

Printing current time and date on a pdf document

I wish for a pdf document to print the current time and date in the same place at the foot of each page, to the following format:
Aug 04 2009, 5:11 pm.
How do I do this please? Annoyingly I have managed it in the past, but when I open up my old documents and paste the relevant field into my new document, it either prints the old date/time or else prints the present date/time, but then doesn't refresh the next time I try to print - ie it stays at one date/time.
I'd like to start again from scratch so that I have a better idea of how it works!!

I now have the answer, and hopefully this will help anybody else with a similar problem.
In Acrobat:
Create a text field and place it in the chosen place on the pdf form. Label it "datebox" in the General tab of Text Field Properties, and apply your character styles in the Appearance tab.
Under the "Advanced" menu, go to "Document Processing" and then "Set Document Actions"
Click on "Document Will Print" and then hit the "Edit" button. In the "JavaScript Editor" paste the following:
var myfield=getField("datebox");
var date=new Date();
date=util.printd("mmm dd yyyy, h:MM tt", date);
myfield.value=date;
Hit OK.
You have now given the instruction that whenever you print, the field named "datebox" will print the current time and date in the following format:

Pictures and graphics in emails

When I drag a picture or graphic into an email, it is too large. I would like to make the size of either a picture or graphic smaller. How do I do that?

After attaching a picture or graphic to a message, at the bottom right of the message window with Tiger Mail is an Image Size selection. Actual is the default and you can select between Small, Medium or Large.
Smaller PDF file attachments (1-2 pages) also appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message by default but do not use the Image Size selection with a PDF attachment.
Keep in mind all image/graphic attachments appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message with the Mail.app by default which cannot be turned off.
Depending on the recipient's email client and available preference settings, such attachments may appear inline or viewed in place when the message is opened by the recipient (as with the Mail.app when receiving such attachments) or as attached files only which must be opened separately to view for which we have no control over.
You can also control-click on the viewed in place attachment and select View as Icon which does not affect the size of the attachment or how the attachment appears when the message is opened by the recipient - either inline or viewed in place or as an attached file only which must be opened separately.

Edited text not appearing in emailed .pdf documents

I use the typewriter tool to add text to an already existing .pdf document. When I save the document to a folder and reopen it, the text is visible. When I attach this document to email using Entourage, the text I edited is not visible. What am I doing wrong?

If you go into the pdf with acrobat professional (not available w/ reader) and open the forms editing menu and double click on the field that is not appearing you can check the settings (I think it is in general settings tab). One of the setting is to make the info typed into the field visible or not visible. It could be set to not visible.

How to erase lines and columns from a pdf document

hi, i have a pdf document with rows and columns and some text writen in them. I want to be able to delete the rows and columns but i haven't found a way to do that yet.Can anyone help me please??? i can delete the content in the cells but not the row/column itself. Also i want to do the opposite thing in another pdf (add rows and columns), i also haven't found the way yet

This is a very long way from what is possible. Acrobat is not a design tool or word processor. You can delete what is at a location on the page, but it sounds as if you expect the text to reflow and close up the gaps - this will not happen.

Finder crashes and restarts when Adobe PDF documents are accessed.

Recently I've been having problems with my Finder crashing (window closes and the dot under the Finder icon in the Dock goes out) and restarting (dot under the icon in the Dock comes back on). The problem occurs when I select an Adobe PDF document in the Finder. I use column view. If I click once on a document to see the Preview information in the next column, or if I double click to open the document, the crash and restart occurs. However, it doesn't happen for all Adobe PDF documents. If the icon next to the document name in the Finder shows the first page of the document, the problem does no occur. But if the document icon remains the Adobe logo, the problem occurs.
I'm running Os X 10.5.5 on one of the early iMacs. Other than regular Apple updates, the only software change I've made recently is to install Adobe Flash Player.

Here's an update.
The problem seems to be confined to the Finder when Column view is selected. When List or Icon view is selected there is no crash and restart. When Cover Flow is selected the Finder crashes and restarts, but the pattern seems a bit odd. It crashes when some folders or subfolders are selected, but not others.
In Column view the problem occurs for some Adobe PDF documents where the document icon is the first page. It occurs for all PDF documents where the icon is the Adobe logo.
