Edit/save spfile file

Hi Friends,
Oracle 10gXE
I have done practice editing and saving spfile b4 but since I am not doing it often I already fogotten the steps. Can you help me do it agains please.
I want to save or convert my spfile to the extenal pfile, and vice versa.
Thanks a lot

Hi,
PFILEs and SPFILEs are physical files used to
configure the Oracle instance, they
are not considered part of the database.I know what you are trying to say and you are not 'wrong'. But ...
it depends on terminology and context. In the standard Oracle University courses, during the discussion of 'Database vs Instance', the parameter files are considered part of the database in the same way as Control Files, Database Files, Redo Log files, etc. <g>

    Hi all,
I would like to confirm about:
Do I violate Adboe Macromedia license if I develop a independent desktop application allowing open/edit/save psd file right in my own developed application? (support psd file version is up to CS4).

No we do not have an open source code for reading .folio files. You can read .folio file in Adobe Content Viewer and in your customer viewer app.

  • PS CS3 crashes at "Save as" after editing Hasselblad DNG file

    Hi,
Soliciting some net wisdom on this one.
Went mad an got myself a H2D-39. Am now experiencing intermittent crashes when saving files from Photoshop.
I import the H2D files as DNG using the latest version of FlexColor 4.8.6, then select image in Bridge, do raw conversion in Bridge and send to PS for final edit. When I try to save the file (Save As), PS crashes roughly every second time before the File menu opens, crash info:

Running Vista SP1, all latest Updates, 4GB machine, (still) plenty of disk. No problems when working on smaller files (from my 10Mpix camera). Tried as best I can all means of saving and optimizing memory use as suggested in KB etc. Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Håkan

I think my problem may be solved. Yesterday I installed the latest driver for my elderly Epson 3200 scanner, and now PS seems to be working again. I just read another thread about PS3 crashes where Chris Cox said "(buggy drivers are why we no longer install the TWAIN plugin by default -- too many bad drivers, and no way for Photoshop to know until they crash)".
Replacing the TWAIN that came with the old scanner driver which may have not been compatible with Leopard may have been the solution...at least I hope so.

I started to learn HTML, and I'm using text edit and everything is going fine, when I save the file with a .html extension and open it with safari I only view the code and not the webpage that was supposed to be created.

That is because you don't have a web server configured and running to serve the html page. In order to see the page in a browser you need to access it using a url similar to http://localhost/~yourUserName if you are serving the page from your user account.
Prior to Mountain Lion you could go into web sharing and turn on the web server. With Mountain Lion there is no option, other than using terminal, to turn on the web server. The web sharing menu item has been removed in Mountain Lion. Apache is still on your computer but it will take a little searching these forums or the Internet to find how to turn it on.
If you want a graphic user interface to turn on/off the Apache server you could download and install a server application like xampp, http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html. I use this and it works well.

  • I am using CS3 and want to save a file as a pdf where someone can then edit the text. How can I do this please? Thank you :)

I am using CS3 and want to save a file as a pdf where someone can then edit the text. How can I do this please? Thank you

You might be able to use the newest adobe reader program/application for that.
You would have to save your pdf out of photoshop cs3 without any text and then add the text to the pdf in adobe reader.
The text added in adobe reader can't be edited in photoshop, so the other people would have to adobe reader or acrobat to edit the text.

  • How do you edit a jpeg file and add callouts and save it again as a jpeg file?

I opened a jpeg file in Acrobat Pro XI and edited the photo adding callouts. It was saved again as a PDF, and when reopened all of the callouts where there.  I tried to save it as a jpeg file, and when repoened all of the callouts were gone.  How do I save the file as a jpeg and have the callouts show?

    Hi Firepros1,
You may try exporting file as PNG or TIFF instead of jpeg.
Let me know if that helps.

  • Can't SAVE pdf file after editing.

So, it can understand as I can't edit my pdf as well..
I tried to click on save or save as, but apparently it didn't save the file on my computer, and I don't know why this could be.
When I clossed adobe it just kept asking whether I need to save it before I close it. But it still didn't work either I pressed Yes and select the original file name to overwrite it or to find a new location and rename it.
    It's a 32-bit Windows 7 with Adobe Reader X
    Please help, thanks!

Please post in the Adobe Reader forum.  But even over there they will tell you that you cannot edit a PDF file with Adobe Reader.  Or maybe you will need to explain further what / how you were editing that PDF file.

  • Cannot save JPEG file from RAW file edit.

After editing NEF raw file 8 bit channel in Elements 9 > open image> edit again> save as JPEG maximium> OK. Then end up with broken file image in organiser. Will save as a PDF file. Edited JPEG's saved. Previous edited NEF files (sucessfuly saved as JPEG) will not save as JPEG this time. OS MAC 10.6.8. Do I need to re-enstall? Dread the thought of re organising thousands of images even when tagged.

When you click on the open image button in the Camera Raw dialog make sure the dropdown menu doesn’t show 16 bit. If it does change to 8 bit and then click open image. You can only save jpeg in 8 bit mode.

  • Edit an Excel file in Numbers '09 and save to Excel

When I open an excel file with numbers and then make a change, I can't simply save the file by pressing command-s because that brings up the "saving as" dialog.
Is there a reason why this is happening? Can't Numbers just overwrite the existing excel file?
It's not a huge inconvenience buy an unnecessary one.

Like most applications, Numbers assumes you want to save in the native format for that application. If you want to open, edit and save in MS Excel format, logic would suggest that your best course would be to use MS Excel.
That said, it's probably possible to write an AppleScript that would perform the steps necessary to do what you want with only a single menu choice needed.
Or you could export (rather than Save) the file. That's a menu choice plus three click process, though.

    Barry

That button is not the Save As button, really, but a link to the DNG converter. To save your raw file in an image format, click the Open button instead and then save in the format of your choice in the editor. • Editing CSS, related files requires save (cs4)

You know what really Grinds My Gears? (family guy reference,
    lol)
When I edit the CSS in the right hand panel, sometimes it
makes the CSS file in the Related Files toolbar not saved with a *
next to the filename. Sometimes it goes ahead and just saves the
changes right away. Like most, I'm constantly switching back/forth
between browsers so CSS has to be saved to see changes.
Kindofa pain to have to click the css file in the related
toolbar and Ctrl+S to save before each preview...I haven't been
able to find out why it "dirties" the CSS file sometimes and other
times it directly saves to the CSS file.
Does anyone have any ideas? How to get it to always just save
    to the file?
    thanks

    avibodha,
Ah! Thanks for the additional details. I see what is causing
    this behavior.
When a document is opened, DW determines what the Related
    Files are, so
it can show the list of buttons for each one. But, for the
    sake of
performance, we do not actually load the files until you
    click on a
button to view a file. Note that the file may already be
    loaded as a
top-level document or as a Related File of some other
    document.
Since you have the "Open CSS files when modified" setting
    turned off,
then the CSS gets automatically saved to disk *if* the file
    has not yet
been loaded. Once the file has been loaded, then DW will not
automatically save it (to avoid writing something on disk
    that you don't
    want written).
So, you'll need to disable the Related Files feature to have
    DW always
automatically save the CSS to disk.

    Randy

  • Can't seem to edit, save or export with QT Pro 7 on some movie files

The movies I'm trying to edit, save or export are:
    AAC, Stereo, 32.000 kHz
    MPEG-4 Video, 320 x 240, Millions
Other options seem to be not available too : copy, cut, extract, trim, etc. Basically all editing functions.
I am using QT 7 Pro
    I am using Mac OS X 10.4.x
I can successfully edit other movies.
Any ideas what might be happening?

It's very easy for a QuickTime author to "Save As Un-Editable" using AppleScript.
    http://www.apple.com/applescript/quicktime/
Even the owner of the file must use it on a "copy" because of its power.

  • How to set permissions to edit/save files copied from a Win 7 PC

I'm working on a project where I have to generate a series of screengrabs on a PC and transfer them to my MacPro via the network for onward tranmission via email but some need to be edited first in Photoshop.
If I'm just forwarding them via email with no changes there's no problem, but when I need to edit them in Photoshop I can't save unless I go to Get Info for the file concerned, unlock Sharing & Permissions (which requires my administrator password) and then change the 'everyone' drop-down setting from 'Read only' to 'Read & Write', then re-lock and close Get Info.
The default permissions for the PC files as they arrive over the network are:
    nobody     Read & Write
    staff         Read only
    everyone  Read only
I have dozens and possibly a hundred or more of these to do, so having to re-set Permissions every time is a major pain and waste of time.
Is there something I can change either on the Mac or the PC (which is running Windows 7) so that I can just edit and save these files without all this hassle?
    Thanks,
    Michael

http://www.lagentesoft.com/batchmod/ drag and drop permission modification software.  Be careful with this.  If you drag and drop a necessary system folder, you can render your Mac unbootable, except with an EXTERNAL optical drive.

  • Can't edit an excel file and can't save it in excel 2010, but the same file works fine in 2007.

I am trying to save an excel file in 2010 version but I am getting the following error:
Errors were detect while saving <File Name>.Microsoft excel may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make repairs in the file, Click continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel.
On clicking continue, I am asked to save it again and then finally I get the following error:
Excel encountered errors during save. However, excel was able to minimally save your file to <file Location>.
This file is saved successfully in 2007 version of the software.
Any help on this error would be highly appreciated

    Hi,
Based on my research, this behavior can occur under any of the following conditions:
You save an Excel file to a network drive where you have restricted permissions.
You save an Excel file to a location that does not have sufficient drive space.
The connection to the Excel file has been lost.
There is a conflict with an antivirus software program.
You save an Excel file that is shared.
The 218-character path limitation has been exceeded when you save an Excel file.
The Transition Formula Evaluation feature is turned on in Excel.
The file was created from a template that contains embedded objects.
To troubleshoot an Excel save issue, you can refer to the following links:

    Hope it helps
