Edit with windows of apple?

I must buy a new computer. I hear many problems from Windowusers who edit films with Adobe. Should I buy an Apple,
or can I take the risk and continue with Windows? Where is the point in Windows that I should give special attention?
Thanks.

I am strictly an Elements Windows user.
Just a quick reply for now.
From the point of view of Premiere Elements, although Premiere Elements Windows and Mac are very similar, there are those differences. It seems to me that  Premiere Elements Mac typically comes out on the short side. Note the Windows Only in several of the effects and such. One example...no Chroma Key and no Blue Screen or Green Screen Key, but there are workarounds. Check out Steve Grisetti thread on that. He suggests Videomerge as the substitute in this case
http://www.muvipix.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=11271
I have found the Difference Matte under keying can be a substitute for Chroma Key, Blue Screen or Green Screen. More on that if interested.
On the plus side of things for Premiere Elements 11 on Mac 64 bit, the program is a 64 bit application.
I have had several Premiere Elements versions, all on Windows, and all continue to perform well.

What kind of files do you have and what error are you facing while transferring them to your iTunes Library?
As Homesharing allows you to stream contents to your Apple Tv only if you have the file available in your itunes Library and both the computer and Apple Tv is connected to the Same Network and Home Sharing with Same Apple Id.

  • Can I downgrade to Windows 2008 Web edition with Windows 2012R2 Standard?

I read through 2012R2 licensing guide. It tells 2012 Standard can downgrade to 2008 Essential, Standard and Enterprise edition. Whereas 2012 Datacenter can downgrade to any prior editions.
So I can only buy a most expensive 2012 Datacenter to downgrade a cheapest 2008 Web edition? It seems not making sense to user, isn't it?
Ok, there is no web edition in 2012, then at least I should be allowed to downgrade with Standard edition? Make sense? Anyone can help or comment? Thanks a lot.

Yes, The Web Server product was designed primarily for end customers and service providers that wanted to host web sites. However, consistent feedback from these customers and partners has been that they prefer to use an edition of Windows Server that does
not restrict usage to running web workloads.
Despite the removal of Web Server edition, web workloads running on a Windows Server 2012 edition will continue to receive the “CAL waiver” that is in effect for these workloads today. Windows Server CALs will not be required to access the licensed server if

  • LV 8.6 Student Edition with Windows 7

In the middle of this semester, in which I'm taking a LabVIEW class, my laptop crashed.  I quickly replaced with a Gateway NetBook running Windows 7 Starter edition.  When I start to install LabVIEW 8.6 Student Edition, I get error windows:
    LabVIEW Student Edition Software Suite
Error:  Windows SDK function returned an error (Error code-12)
    End Error Report
Does LV 8.6 SE run under Win 7 Starter?  If not, will it run under a different (upgraded) version of Win 7?
    Or am I just screwed?

I am having a similar problem. I ma trying to install Labview 8.6 on an EeePC 1005HA running Windows 7 Starter Edition I don't get an error 12 message, it simply states "This product does not support Windows Starter Edition. Consult the documentation for operating system requirements."
I tired installing using the Troubleshooting Compatibilty mode as suggested in the other threads but got the same result.
Is there some sort of work around for this or do I have to pay for an upgrade? Will the Home version be enough?
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • ITunes x64 does not install in Windows 7. Shows that there is problem with windows installer package

These images below show the error message I retrieve. I downloaded iTunes 10.5 x64 Edition for windows from Apple Official Website. When I try to install, it shows me these errors. I even tried removing the old version iTunes, and installing this version. But still the same error occurs. Even used windows cleanup utility to remove all itunes and quicktime related files. Still the same problem occurs. I also noticed a difference in this installation compared to the previous ones. In the previous version installation a segment of Apple Terms & Conditions Agreement will appear. But in this installer package, as you can see in the images provided it does not appear. How to solve this? I've been trying to install this for nearly a month.

Nowadays people don't back up to CD/DVD. They get an *external hard drive* and copy over their entire iTunes folder, and whatever else they are backing up.
The advantages are (1) this method does not depend on iTunes's horribly unreliable burning capability (2) you can look at the external and see that the stuff you backed up is really there. (If you want to see an unhappy person, it is when they try to restore from CD/DVD and discover that it did not burn correctly in the first place.) (3) it lets you back up your other valuable files besides your music.

  • BI Publisher Tab not visible in Windows 2007 with Windows 7 64 bit Config

    Hi All,
I was working with BI Publisher till last week in my system having windows 7 64 bit edition with Windows Word 2007 installed. When i started my work on Tuesday this week, i was not able to see the BI publisher Tab in the Word. But it's visible in Excel. I tried looking in to the forum and got solutions such as Enabling Macros, Enabling the Trust Access to VBA Project Model and Re installing Word and BI Publisher.I tried everything but still the issue is not resolved.
I dont find any *.exd file present in my system to prevent the Add-Ins from displaying. I'm not sure what update had made the BI Publisher to be hidden. Please let me know if you any suggestion or workaround as my project is in critical state with strict deadlines.
    Thanks,
    Bala Maheshwaran

If you cannot show the BI Publisher Macros in Word :
    1.     You have to uninstall the BI Publisher desktop
    2.     Install the BI Publisher as (Right-click on the "Command Prompt" item and select "Run as administrator".)
    3.     If you cannot show the BI Publisher macros and in word options show TBmenu as disable you have to do :
    4.     Click the Microsoft Office Button , click Word Options, and then click Add-Ins.
    5.     In the Add-ins box, identify the add-in that you want to enable and note the Add-in type located in the Type column.
    6.     Select the Add-in type in the Manage box and then click Go
    7.     Select the check box for the Add-in that you want enable and then click OK.
    8.     Close the word
    9.     Reopen the word , than appear the BI Publisher

  • Oracle Express Edition And Windows Encrypted File System (EFS)

    Hello,
I want to use oracle express edition with windows encrypted file system. I tried some possibilities like encrypting xe folder. But connection can not be established when efs is used. Is there a compatibility problem between oracle xe and windows efs? On Oracle's page, it is declared that oracle database is compatible with Windows EFS.
    Thank you for help.

Pl identify which version of Win 7 - 32-bit or 64-bit ? Home version or something else ?
The 11g XE install is only available for 32-bit version of Win 7 Professional or higher - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/install.112/e18803/toc.htm#BABHICJH. If you are installing on 64-bit version or Home version of Windows, then you are on your own. What is the reason for enabling EFS on this database ?

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard with Windows 7 on non Apple Hardware

    Good Day,
I love the Apple Wireless Keyboard and it's the on I use when using my Thinkpad laptop as a desktop, meaning connected to an external Monitor and with an external keyboard and mouse. The Keyboard I use is an Apple Wireless Keyboard.
On my MBA 13 I use Windows 7 as my OS and the Apple lyouted keyboard works actually quite well with windows: The function keys perform very much like in Mac OSX with the volume, screen brightness, the fn+left or right for "home" or "end" etc.
Not I bought an Apple Wireless Keyboard to use in conjuction with my Thinkpad but all does features are missing. I guess that this has to to that on the MBA 13 the appropriate drivers where installed when the whole Bootcamp Software package was installed.
Since I obviously cant install the whole Bootcamp CD on non Apple Hardware, is there any way to just download somewhere the drivers for Apple KEyboards so the behave the same way as they would on a Mac running Windows?
Or is there any other way I could use my Apple Wireless Keyboard with non Apple Hardware the same way it behaves on my MBA 13 running Windows 7? Can somwhere lolely the Apple Keyboard drivers be downloaded?
I want to thank anyone who is kind enough to help mme with this mather in advance and please leave out comments of the kind that I it's my fault, I should have bought an Apple machine from the beginning. I have my reasons and If anyone can't handle that I kindly ask you to just ignore this post unless it's constructive and helpful contribution

After 3 frustrating hours of trying every tip on the net, I found the answer: Try this.
"This finally fixed it for me: Device Manager - Open System Devices, you will find a Bluetooth HID Device. Double Click it, open Driver tab and click "Update Driver" Select Browse my Computer, then "Let me Pick". It should now show TWO compatible drivers with exactly the same name. One of them is the Microsoft one, one is the non-working Chinese ****. Install one of them and see if the driver properties changed to the right (Microsoft) driver. If not, try again with the other one. For me, the Microsoft driver was the first one in the list, but this may be different for you. Wow, an annoying and intense hour of trouble shooting finally over..."

The issue is related to the Chinese version of the driver that the latest windows update applies that stops the keyboard from working.
I'm typing this on the Apple Wireless Keyboard on Windows 7 64 bit on my PC. Finallly!

    Hi,
does the numpad work in other Windows programs, or is it just the MS Office programs ?
Have you tried the 'clear'-key (the one above the '7'-key on the numpad) to enable the numpad ?

  • Using Apple keyboard with Windows (bootcamp)

Does anyone have a cheat sheet for using a wired Apple keyboard with Windows 7 (the bootcamp setup)? I like to use keyboard shortcuts, both in OS X and in Windows. When I switch to my Windows partition, I haven't figured out the key combinations to use on the Apple keyboard.
UPDATE: Never mind. I found it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5636?viewlocale=en_US

  • Mystery .dll in the "Apple Computer" folder causing problems with Windows 7 startup

When Windows 7 starts up on my Dell laptop, I receive the error message: The module "C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\kfsunszl.dll" failed to load.
I cannot determine what specific Apple software the .dll file works with.  I only have Itunes, Quicktime and iphone related updaters.  Uploading the newest software didn't help.  I have gone as far as uninstalling all Apple software from my computer, and I still receive the error.  I then reinstalled everything...still getting the error.  Could this be some kind of malware?  I'd love some advice.  Thanks!

You already have the answer - re-install XP.
I have been delving into Windows 7, trying to nail an audio problem, have been running various incarnations of 7 on two machines here, and have now some experience of friends who have moved to 7.
For most of what they do, it is fine, and here it is fine for 'normal' computing use. But it acts differently for audio on my two machines with the same external audio interfaces. I have managed to work around problems on both, but on both I have to switch off some networking to make them reliable.
Both machines are rock solid on XP and even on 32-bit Vista.
I appreciate that many people are very successfully using Windows 7 for audio, and I'd have thought that the spec of yours should be good enough, although for 7 I'd prefer a little more memory. But the fact is that I can't do any better audio work on 7 than I could on XP, so why add a load of extra hassle.
One thing that does really worry me is that I've been, as I say, delving into the inner workings of 7 and have been asking questions on Microsoft's technical forums. Some of the answers about audio from Microsoft staff and MVP's have been very depressing to the extent that I worry about Microsoft's in-depth testing.
For glitch testing I use a standard banal piece of music that has a rock solid beat to it with plenty of 'air' around it. Just listening, recording, lining up multiple instances and editing with that sort of source material makes it easy to hear and demonstrate drop outs and similar problems.

  • "iTunes 7.6 or later is supported with any 64-bit edition of Windows Vista.

"iTunes 7.6 or later is supported with any 64-bit edition of Windows Vista. The installer for 64-bit Vista is named iTunes64Setup.exe instead of iTunesSetup.exe. For more information see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301301"
So now you iPod Shuffles will work! No more returning them to Apple!

I can now setup iTunes on my 64 bit Windows Vista. I've also brought over my library via the home network from my old Windows XP computer (although I needed to use Add folder to Library as the songs were not automatically recognised in the library). However, I can't get the i-Pod to load. At first I got a message saying that I needed to download a driver and now there is no recognition of the iPod at all when I connect. Is there anything I can do?
