Editable Volume Line in The waveform

I am totally new to Sound Booth and I can't find the answer to this in any tutorials or manuals: How do you implement the volume or levels as an editable line within the waveform. A line where you can add key points and move them up and down and even make them Bezier curves so that volume levels changes can be edited in a non linear fashion if desired?
Secons: I imported a score form the included library and when dragged to the editing window, there in no wave form. How do I make it apear with the waveform?

Make sure the volume on the iPod is turned up fully, since this will affect what you hear through the stereo.
Make sure Volume Limit is set to full. (From Main Menu, Settings/Volume Limit)
If you purchased your iPod inside the EU (European Union), then the maximum volume from the headphone jack is lower than elsewhere in the world. If this is the case, buy yourself a 30-pin Dock Connector to 3.5mm jack lead, such as the one linked here...

That connector will take a higher volume out (than the European Union's output) and that will be louder (and hopefully loud enough) through your stereo.

I can't edit a Line with the Properties panel - Flash CS4

I have created a line on the stage with the Line tool, and then want to edit the Stroke and Style in the Properties panel. However, after creating the line these options are greyed out and not available to me. Even if I then select the Line with the Selection tool, I cannot edit the Stroke or the Style. It seems to me I should be able to do this, what am I missing?

Normally after drawing the line you only need to click once on it to select it, and with it selected you should be able to access its settings in the properties panel.

Where is the "Edit Volume" box below the Timeline?

I would like to make audio level changes several times within an audio clip of my project. It is described/illustrated here:

However, I cannot find the box described. Is there some setting I need to toggle on to make this appear so that I can selectively adjust the audio level?

What is it you are trying to do. If you want to forward a message, you do this a different way now. You tap and hold on the message bubble and tap on More. It will select that particular message bubble. From there you can select others, then tap on the arrow in the bottom right corner and this will take you to the forward message screen.

how to have a vertical grid line on the waveform graph indicator for every 10% percent of the maximum X axis value, so the x axis will split into 10, the vertical grids line in total will be 11 (including first and last)
Example if the maximum X axis value is 11.56, first vertical grid is at the origin(0), second vertical grid is at 1.156 and continue to last one 11.56

When I record an audio track, there is a waveform. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing?

In Logic:
Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number. It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

My soundcard is dropping out as I make changes in the volume line

Can anybody tell me what to do? I work in Soundtrack Pro with an Apogee mini-me or M-box as soundcard. If I make changes in the volume-line after a while the soundcard is dropping out and no more sound is coming also when I try to change the system sound settings again to computer or soundcard. I have to restart the whole computer before the sound is working again. It is a problem working with the I-Mac as with the Mac pro I work on.

I'm having a similar issue; however it appears to only affect midi files. I can rename them in itunes or finder (either directly or with the information window); the results are the same: The data (name, artist genre etc.) appears to be ok until the file is played.
I am using iTunes 7.6.1 on the mac.

Editing the waveform of a MIDI sound

Hi all,
I'm trying to edit one of the MIDI sounds, specifically, I want the sound to cutoff sooner rather than having it linger.
What is the best way to do this?
My initial thought is to convert the software instrument (MIDI) into a wave file, then edit that wave file by deleting the "lingering" portion of the sound so that it cuts off the way I want it to. Then I can just paste that sound into the (not sure what it's called exactly) window that has all the tracks. It'd be even better to be able to assign that small wave file to a key on my MIDI controller. I've done something like this on Garageband so I assume it's possible to do on Logic.
Any help on how to pull this off with something similar to what I described above? Or even better, is there a simple way to do this? Thanks!

What Instrument are you using to create the 'sound'?
Most of Logic's Software Instruments have an 'Envelope' section. This is where you can adjust the ADSR of the sound (Attack (lead in), Decay, Sustain (how long actual sound lasts for), Release (length of trail...).
Here are some ways:
You can use the Sustain & Release parameter in the plugin to adjust the length.
You can use Track Automation and volume to cut the sound out too. (View > Track Automation, draw nodes for Volume, drag lines to create a fade out).
You can use Hyper draw (Region based automation) to do this.
You can bounce the MIDI region to an audio file (Solo track, File > Bounce), import audio file and in Sample Editor use the fade out function. (This destructively edits the audio file).
You can bounce the region to audio and in the Arrange area use the fade tool to non-destructively add a fade to the end of a region. Then use the Automation Curve tool to add a curve shape to the fade out.
There are many ways to do this

How do I add a time stamp to the moving "Major Grid Lines" of a Waveform Chart?

I am using LV 8.5.1
I am using a Waveform Chart and I have turned on the "Major Grid LInes" using the properties tab of my waveform chart. (properties-->scale->grid lines)
When the code executes, I want to attach a time stamp to each moving yellow grid line.
So as the grid lines move from right to left, there is an associated time stamp for each.
Can someone help!

If you right click on your graph and go to X Scale >> Style >> and then choose one of the 3 styles on the far left you shoul see timestamps for those grid lines.

I can move the yellow line all the way down till the volume reads -0.0, but the sound is still there on playback. I can click on fade in and fade out and the yellow line that graphs volume takes a sharp raise or dip at the beginning or end of the clip, but there is no change in volume when I play back. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply. Great news about the volume adjusts.
Now about those fades for the volume. How are you doing that?
1. Right click the Timeline video audio and select Fade and then
see the Fade options (I had a video with audio file, so I saw the choices as shown in the screenshot)
2. You can also create two volume keyframes at each end of the Timeline audio clip rubberband (orange line that goes horizontally across the middle of the audio clip). At the position of the Timeline Indicator, click the Add/Remove Keyframe icon, and then with the mouse cursor position the white dots (volume keyframes) to achieve the Fade In and Fade Out audio. In the screenshot below I have moved the Timeline Indicator so that you could better see the white dots (volume keyframes).
Please let us know if any of the above works for you with regard to the audio fades.

Why does the waveform disappear after editing in Sound Booth?

It happens consistently with CS4 on 2 different computers. I right-click the audio track and select Edit in Adobe Sound Booth, and SB opens the audio for editing. I edit the audio, and it updates the audio. I know it does, because when I play back the edited section, it's correct. But the waveform is gone! I tried playing around with the display style -- disable and enable waveform, keyframes, etc. -- but the audio track doesn't display anything. I have to exit out of Premiere and re-start it to see the waveform again.
Anyone else experience this?
Also: when editing the audio in SB, is there a way to substitute the PP audio track with a multi-track? I know I can export a multitrack as an .aiff and import it into PP, but I was wondering if there's a way to link it.

Thanks for responding, but the thread you mentioned seems to be about a mirror-image problem: waveform not appearing in Sound Booth. In my case, SB is working fine and displaying the waveform properly, which is why I posted my question in this forum, instead.
The problem I'm having is the waveform not appearing in PPro. This doesn't seem to be a case of "it isn't a bug, it's a feature", because exiting and restarting PPro makes the waveform reappear. So it looks like it is a bug. Unless I'm doing something wrong or have a conflict somwhere.
BTW, I used to use Audition, but it had too many hardware issues and wouldn't run under 64-bit Windows. Have you tried it under Vista x64, or with dynamic links to PPro or After Effects? It seems that PPro, AE and Flash have been designed to work with SB rather than Audition.

14) Point to the start or end one of the clips, when you see the icon showing arrows going either way, right click and drag your clips to roughly match up with the timeline selection, then zoom in further and adjust the clip start and end points to match up exactly with the timeline selection start and endpoints.

Command Lines in the User Edition, Discovere 4i

Dear All,
I am searching for an answer regarding the chance to use the batch command line in the Discoverer 4i user edition to export an xls file with the pivot format.
It is not possible to do this in the previous version, but it's possible in the 4i version choosing the xls pivot format while exporting the report interactively.
So we are looking for a specific parameter to be used in the command line.

Editing the thumb-line in the photopage

When you open a photo-page, you first get the thumbs. Then clicking on a thumb you continue to a page where uyou see the picture in larger size, and the other pictures as thumbs in a line over. Is it any way to edit this? I would like to be able to move the thumbline down , and maby make them smaler. Is this possible?
Can I move the different buttons around the page as well? ('next', 'previous', 'play slideshow' and 'back to album')
I also would like to move the links ('play slideshow', ' back to album', ',next' and 'previous'). Can I do that?
Can I remove the 'back to album'-button on the thumb-line-page (the page you get to when clicking on a thumb at the photopage, getting a bigger photo with a thumb-line over)?
It would be great if you could go directly to the so called thumb-line-page and skip the first thumbnail page. Is this possible?
