Editable web page

Can one build an editable Web Page like the ones Wikipedia
have with Dreamweaver? Is there a tutorial for that?

Sending edited web page via email

I received via email a web page which someone asked me to change. I'm a painter not a web designer and I know just enough to be dangerous. I managed to get the page into Dreamweaver and edit it but now I don't know how to get it back to the person, presumably via email. Or maybe there's another way. I read in a forum that you can post it, but I'm not sure how to do that either. Thanks for any help someone can offer. Sarah.

Making an editable web page in iweb

Hopefully someone can help me out here.
What I am trying to do is make a web page with iweb that will basically be a
page that anyone can edit (type) in. It would need to be password protected. but basically an editable journal type page. If that isn't possible, does anyone know how to make a simple hmtl page that would do the same effect that i could load into my .mac account? thank you for your time.

I don't think what you want to do is possible on .Mac. Such things require php or other server side stuff which is not available there. But you can probably incorporate a forum hosted elsewhere into your .mac site. Search this forum for "forum".

Editing Web Page Source (3.6.1 Multiuser)

I'm looking to do some more detailed formatting on some web pages used for topic overviews (such as nested bullet points), however the WYSIWYG editing options are rather limited. Is it possible to edit the source prior to publishing?

Further investigation reveals that the problem appears to have to do with the way the html file is encoded on disk. I am working on pinning down exactly what, in the encoding, is causing the problem. When I have that documented, as well as another possible "undocumented feature" I found, I will forward all info to you. This is the kind of problem I like as I am a developer with over 30 years experience including a stint as QA lead for a development group at AT&T which won the MBNQA for, among other things, re-engineering the platform used by the long distance operators. Contribute will not edit web page after installing Security Update 2007-004

I have been unable to edit my web site with Contribute 3.11 after I installed the 2007-004 Security update. When I select the web page to edit the spinning beach ball appears and if I look in top it shows Contribute using 100% of the system. I have to do a force quit on it to be able to do anything.
Has anyone else noticed a problem with this or have a possible solution? Thank you.

Help with editing web pages in Contribute

Once I am connected to the website I want to edit and I click
on "edit page" in Contribute, the screen turns gray and I cannot
edit anything. It saves as a "draft" and I could publish it but it
won't allow me to see the web page I am editing. Help!

Please check if in the contribute window the url is showing "http://www.yoursite.com" ,if yes then please browse to "http://www.yoursite.com/index.html" (Provide the complete URL of your homepage.) then try to edit your page.

Edit web page with iweb but using a different computer than it was made on?

in short... i made a web page using iweb 09' on my desktop... it is with a domain name that is with godaddy.com... i have it all working... forwarding to my web page etc.... but... how do i edit my web page using my laptop and iweb.... i can't seem to import or load the page into iweb on my laptop? it was created on my desktop and i can modify and change things on it but not my laptop... what am i doing wrong?

Scrollbar is missing when I try to edit web pages on Website Tonight

When I try to edit a web page on the website designer, Website Tonight, the scroll bars that allow me to move around the page are missing. I have no way of accessing the the parts of the page that do not show in the window after it loads.

Maybe the site has CSS code that hides the scroll bars (overflow: hidden).
Did you check the CSS code for the presence of such a property?

Edit Web pages in Safari for printing?

Somewhere recently I came across a utility, or a hack (input manager), or maybe it was even a Web site, that makes it possible to edit out undesired elements of a Web page before printing it. I believe it was specifically linked to Safari (not a Firefox plug-in I know, as I never use that browser). I clearly remember a video demo of whatever-it-was on its Web page. But I can't remember the name, and can't find it again with an Internet search. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Is there a plug-in for editing web pages in Firefox (or how to otherwise edit in Firefox?

When opening an .htm/.html file in Internet Explorer to view and/or edit, I can view the source code and choose an editing program (I use Windows Notebook as my default just because it is quick and easy). Can I edit source pages directly from the Firefox browser, or 'link' to Notebook, or . . . to accomplish the same task?
I have other editing programs on my machine, but they either are clunky or require hoops to be jumped through to do my 'hand' editing. The way I have been doing it for many years is quick and easy, and doesn't require me to open more than one program to accomplish my task. This saves a lot of time when I have multiple pages to edit and/or a lot of 'picky' changes to make.

Aperture 2.0 - Editing Web Pages

Could not seem to find a way to create a web page temple for all the web pages we create for our college sports photos pages.
Would like to creat one template, with the same background and text colors, size of thumbnails, logo for the header and text/caption for the footer.
I am quite sure this can be done, just do not see anything that allows me to do this.
Is this something you create in iWeb then save (how/) to Aperture as a temple.

I'm sorry for this 'difficult' awnser.
If you go to the Aperture program and choose (right click) 'show content' you can find the Web Page templates in Contents/Resources/WebThemes.
By tweaking these files, it is possible to create your own templates. But you need to know a lot of html. And before tweaking, I advice to make a copy.
I hope this can help.
(nb If you find a way to let Aperture fill the alt="" tag, please let me know.)

I am writing a web page editor/render using JEditPane,but recently i have come across a few browsers in java which do not use the JEditpane,instead they have used there own architecture from scratch,although i don't think there is any problem with my approach but can anyone tell me if there is some HTML support related or other issues which i might have overlooked,any help will be great

Editing web page in Dreamweaver 6.1

I use Dreamweaver 6.1 and have done for 5 years. Now,
whenever I edit an html page by keying text, or by copying, ie a
paragraph, to the page, the code view changes it all to one word
per line and in some instances spacing 5 to 10 lines between each
word so that I've had a page of 380 normal lines turn out to be
over 6000 lines. Once, I deleted all of the extraneous lines,
spacing, etc. so that a sentence read properly in sequence but then
the next time I opened the page, it was back to one line plus, per
word.
This started happening about a month ago. I downloaded and
installed the upgrade - didn't help. Anyone have any ideas?
