Edited genres on iTunes & iPod not syncing!

I just spent a whole few hours sorting the genres of my music but it's still the mess it was on my iPod. Please help!
How do i get the genres that i've edited and set on iTunes into my iPod as well??

Update: the cover art for the albums the songs that aren't working also do not appear in my iPod.

    Did you try here:

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Next try on another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

  • ITunes could not sync calendars  to the iPod because sync server failed to

I have been having a problem with my iPod touch and syncing the calendar with my PC I keep getting this error message +iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPod "Peters iPod" because sync server failed to sync the iPod+ It could be coincidence but this problem began right after I got my Verizon iPhone and loaded that into my iTunes, I never get this message on my iPhone and have received it only twice on my iPad. I called Apple Care and they suggested that I remove and reinstall iTunes and QuickTime and they sent me a link on how to remove them in a particular sequence...I followed their advice but it didn't help so I called them back and they said I must not have followed the sequence and to try again...needles to say I am frustrated because it wasn't that complicated I removed it as directed and still I get the error message...if anyone has any suggestions *please help!!*

Thanks, Stuwawah.  Tried this.  Although Notes did sync, and although the calendar info was posted to iPod, we haven't fixed the problem yet.  New symptom to report.  When I opened "calendar" on the iPod, I was able to tap on an event, but I can't tap my way back to any other view of "calendar."  The "<--calendars" button is missing.  Is there a trip to the Apple Store in my near future?

  • Some of my music in ituns, do not sync in the ipod

Some of my music in itunes, do not sync in the ipod, most of the buying ones

How is your iPod configured to receive content from your iTunes library?  Automatically or manually?  If it set to automatically sync content, double check your sync settings from under the iPod's Music and Summary tabs.

  • Itunes will not sync with ipod touch

itunes is installed with the latest version of itunes. all of a sudden, itunes will not sync with my ipod, itunes sees it, when i click to sync it goes through the motions, but never syncs. I get no messages or errors, it just never syncs. the ipod is seen in my computer as a portable device. windows 7 64 bit system. I had the apple store verify the ipod is fine, they emailed me the directions to uninstall all apple apps and reinstall. still, same thing. some of my playlists will not let me move songs within the playlist either, i get a blue border around the songs when i try to. not all of the playlists, only random ones

iDevices are not backup devices... restore your media/playlists from the backup of your computer.

  • "iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPod because the iPod disconnected"

OK, I have an MBP (10.6.4), iTunes 10.0.1, iPod touch 4.1, and an odd contacts sync problem.
When I try to sync all my contacts from address book I get "iTunes could not sync contacts to the iPod because the iPod disconnected". If I only sync some subset of the contacts, that works fine. If I create a new group that contains all the contacts, it barfs.
I have tried resetting and reinstalling, and deleting the backups.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Did you try to reset the sync history in iSync on the Mac?

  • ITunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPod

I'm suddenly getting "iTunes could not sync bookmarks to the iPod...because the iPod disconnected" every single time I connect to iTunes.
Haven't seen this one before - any (good) ideas?

Never mind - deleted some Safari bookmarks created by my Nokia N82, and the problem went away...

  • ITunes could not sync information to the iPod...because a connection could not be established

The only history I could find on this problem is at http://discussions.apple.com/thread/2059115?threadID=2059115
'iTunes could not sync information to the iPod "device name" because a connection could not be established to the iPod'
I have an old iPod Touch, for which the most recent compatible OS seems to be 3.1.3.  iTunes is quite new (iTunes 10.3.1.55) on Windows 7 Profession 64-bit.  Has everyone else who has had this problem on an old iPod Touch found that it was solved, or do they just ignore it?

You will not lose data doing a reset.
If this does not work, maybe try to use a second user account, disable autosync in iTunes, plug in, right click on it in the device list and choose "backup". This will create a backup without syncing.
If the backup goes through, transfer purchase the same way.
Set up at least on contact and event for that new account, let iTunes erase the device and restore from the backup you made before.
If it works for the second user account, there's something wrong on the other side, maybe a defective backup or iTunes.

  • ITunes could not sync information to the iPod "...." because another sync session was already running.

Normally, syncing my iPod Touch is no problem. However, last time I tried to sync, the process hung up and even after half an hour the progress bar would not finish. I ended up having to force quit iTunes. Now when I try to sync I get 2 messages: the first says "iTunes could not back up the iPod "......" because a session could not be started with the iPod." as soon as I close that message another appears: "iTunes could not sync information to the iPod "......." because another sync session was already running."
There seems to be a half finished sync file saved somewhere and a new one cannot be started. However, I can't continue the partial one either so I'm stuck.
Other than that my iPod Touch 4 is operating normally. Syncing with Mac Book Pro.
How do I fix this problem?

    WHat do yo meanby rebooting?
Is is a reset like defined in the users guide:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • ITunes could not sync contacts because the iPod is disconnected

The iPod/Touch IS connected and syncronising music, photos and starting with the contacts sync. After 20 seconds or so the process stops and the alert message says:
"iTunes could not sync contacts on the iPod because the iPod is disconnected".
Have restarted the Mac, reconnected the iPod/Touch with the same result. I have also deleted iPhoto cache which was suggested in one of the forums discussions.
NOTE: I have made the same Sync with my regular iPod 160 and it works fine,
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Yve

I found in a different post the suggestion to do a factory reset on the iPod from within iTunes (on the Summary tab).
Worked for me, but it took a while to reset and then reload all of the info...

  • Error: iTunes could not sync information to the iPod because a connection..

I am getting this error window almost every time I sync my iPod Touch to iTunes. A few seconds after connecting my iPod to my computer via USB, an error window pops up saying: "iTunes could not sync information to the iPod "name" because a connection could not be established to the iPod; OK button".
Well, my iPod IS connected via USB cable, sync starts, and after I click OK in the error window, sync continues, and at the end everything seems to be fine, all my podcasts, songs, mail, calendars, etc. seem to be there fine.
Any idea what is causing this error window to pop-up and how to solve this problem?
    See system specs below.

Chiming in as well, having the same issue with my first gen iPod touch, only started happening after update to 3.0.
Hopefully this fixed when 3.1 comes out, everything seems to work fine (in fact, syncing immediately after the first sync produces no errors, only seems to happen after disconnect / reconnect)
