Edited Images do not appear in iPhoto Library Display

I edit my photos using Photoshop Elements 4. If I save the modifiations under the same file name the changes appear in my iPhoto library. If howerver I do a "save as" and modify the name of the file, I don't see the new version of the image in iPhoto. If I search by name I can see the modified photo (located in modified folder) and can even print it using Canon Easy Photo Print. I just can't get the image to appear in my photo library. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
PS: Any idea when Adobe comes with a verion of Photoshop Elements integrated for MAC?

If you do a "Save as," you're defeating the interaction between PE and iPhoto. If you do a "Save," iPhoto will of course retain both the modified (saved) version and the original "out of the camera" version to which you can always revert.
It appears that you want a third version and that's your reason for a "Save as." Don't put that file inside the library - iPhoto will never know it's there (as you've discovered). Save this file on the desktop. Then, separately use iPhoto to "import" it into the library. Afterwards, you can trash the file that's on the desktop.
"PS: Any idea when Adobe comes with a verion of Photoshop Elements integrated for MAC?"
I consider the two apps to already be integrated quite well.

    after editing in photoshop cs6 my photoshop edited image does not appear in Lightroom 4 can anyone help?

    In Library, set your sort order to Filename instead of Added order and see if the files show up, then.
    How are you doing the Save in PS, using Save or Save As—one will show up, one won’t, I think, but I don’t remember which.

  • Pictures not appearing in iphoto library

    I'm using version 2.0.1 of iphoto. Some of the pictures that are in my picture folder will not appear in the photo library. I have "rebuilt" iphoto, but some of the more recent pictures do not appear in the library. Any ideas on what else I could do to get all my photos to appear in the library.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Some of the pictures that are in my picture folder will not appear
    in the photo library
    That's not surprising since iPhoto 2 wouldn't have any way to know anything about photos that haven't been imported into iPhoto. Your Pictures folder isn't the same as your iPhoto Library folder.

  • How do I import edited images and NOT masters from iphoto

    I'm trialling aperture with a view to migrating from iphoto. I having difficulty importing images from iphoto in so much as whatever options I use to import aperture brings both the master photo and edited version from iphoto. I'd prefer to import only masters where no edited version exists AND where a photo has been edited within iphoto just the edited version (and all metadata, faces, keywords, places etc).
    Is this possible?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    Then you don't want to import your iPhoto Library, what you want to do is export the files from iPhoto (File -> Original *Kind: Current*) to folders on the desktop and then import from there.
    Note that using the Current setting will miss a lot of metadata. If you want that you'll need to set the *Kind to Jpeg* and check the boxes at "titles and descriptions" and "Places information". However, if you're unedited images are Raw you won’t get the masters, obviously.

  • IPhoto images will not appear in Media browser

    After updating my iLife apps (iLife '09), iPhoto images no longer appear in my media browser. In iMovie, it just says "Loading iPhoto Images", but never does. I am using a Macbook with OS X 10.5.8 and 2 GB memory. Images will not appear in iDVD either. Anyone have any thoughts?

    Do you still have the old library? Rebuilding it with iPhoto Library Manager would preserve most of your work.
    This will creates a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

    I was able to get it fixed. I had received some responses and they had me
    recreate the library I believe.  It's been a while so I cant remember
    exactly what I did. I have since upgraded to the latest i photo version and
    have had no problems with it.

  • IOS4 photos do not appear in iphoto

    HI!!
    I have an iphone 3g with iOS4. After upgrading, photos taken from my iphone camera or even downloaded from the internet do not appear in iPhoto when I try to sync. I get a blank space with an outlined frame. Any fix? I have all updated software.

    Greetings,
    Ensure all your software is up to date (Apple Menu > Software Update).
    Remove the following to the trash and restart the computer and try again:
    Home > Library > Caches (I remove the whole folder. It will be re-generated upon restart.)
    Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iPhoto (There may be more than one. Remove them all.)
    If the issue persists try importing using the Image Capture program found in the Applications folder.
    If image capture works then try rebuilding your iPhoto Library following this article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2638. Use the bottom 3 rebuild options.
    If Image Capture does not work then there may be an unreadable picture in the camera roll which is blocking import. See this article for suggestions: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3195
    Hope that helps.

  • Image does not appear in applet.

    I am reading the book, Teach Yourself Java in 21 Days.
    There is an example in Ch.11 that shows how to load an image into the applet.
    I have tried to use the code provided as is along with an image as defined in the code. I have also uploaded the html, class and image to a folder on the web. Unfortunately, the image does not appear in the applet. The image does have an image that I created using ms paint.
    Here is the code I am currently using from the book:
    import java.awt.Graphics;
    import java.awt.Image;
    public class LadyBug2 extends java.applet.Applet {
         Image bugimg;
         public void init() {
             bugimg = getImage(getCodeBase(),
                 "ladybug.gif");
         public void paint(Graphics g) {
             int iwidth = bugimg.getWidth(this);
             int iheight = bugimg.getHeight(this);
             int xpos = 10;
             // 25 %
            g.drawImage(bugimg, xpos, 10,
                iwidth / 4, iheight / 4, this);
             // 50 %
             xpos += (iwidth / 4) + 10;
             g.drawImage(bugimg, xpos , 10,
                  iwidth / 2, iheight / 2, this);
             // 100%
             xpos += (iwidth / 2) + 10;
             g.drawImage(bugimg, xpos, 10, this);
             // 150% x, 25% y
             g.drawImage(bugimg, 10, iheight + 30,
                 (int)(iwidth * 1.5), iheight / 4, this);
    }I tried placing the image in an images folder and I also tried changing the code to getImage(getDocumentBase(), "ladybug.gif")
    as well as tried getImage(getCodeBase(), "ladybug.gif") in order to try and grab the image from the same directory as the class file and the html file.
    The image file's name is: ladybug.gif
    The code in the html file:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Lady Bug</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <P>
    <APPLET CODE="LadyBug2.class" WIDTH=1024 HEIGHT=500>
    </APPLET>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    I have gotten previous applet examples from the book to work. One of them did have an error in the author's code which I fortunately was able to overcome. This time, I am afraid, the error eludes me.
    Thanks in advance.
    I do see that there is no start/stop/run in this version, but I believe this should still work because of the init. I am guessing that maybe the problem lies somewhere in there.

    According to the javadoc:
    getImage
    public Image getImage(URL url,
    String name)Returns an Image object that can then be painted on the screen. The url argument must specify an absolute URL. The name argument is a specifier that is relative to the url argument.
    This method always returns immediately, whether or not the image exists. When this applet attempts to draw the image on the screen, the data will be loaded. The graphics primitives that draw the image will incrementally paint on the screen.
    Parameters:
    url - an absolute URL giving the base location of the image.
    name - the location of the image, relative to the url argument.
    Returns:
    the image at the specified URL.
    I am confused as to how to use the name after the url.
    Should it read something like:
    bugimg = getImage("http://g.jtrusty.com/JavaApplet/", "LadyBug.gif");
    EDIT: I still get the same error, cannot find symbol at getImage.

  • Adobe Lightroom on MacBook Pro does not see my iphoto library

    Adobe Lightroom on MacBook Pro does not see my "iphoto library"

    Hello.
    The problem is that the iPhoto library is inside of iPhoto. Lightroom won't let you select it because it's basically a shortcut to iPhoto. Try exporting the images you need or all of them, depending on what you need.

    why do videos from a shared photo stream not appear in iPhoto?  Within iMovie, it appears as though videos can be imported from the iPhoto library.  However, within iPhoto there are no videos that appear within the Library.  Is it possible to import photos into iPhoto from a shared photo stream?  if not, how can videos be imported into iPhoto?

  • Thumbnail previews do not appear in my library.

    I am able to import my images into my LR app.  But images will not appear in thumbnail in library.  I have to click on image I want to see during development to see my image.  The preview progress bar freezes after image import.

    What operating system are you using, Windows version or Mac OS X version? How old is your computer? Could be the progress bar isn't freezing and it is just taking a long time to build the previews.

  • Images will not appear on Stage area of Adobe Flash Professional

    I have Adobe Flash Professional CS5.
    Yesterday I successfully created an animation.
    Later the same day I tried to create another and the images will not appear on the stage.
    I loaded in PNG files - which worked the first time - now they will not show up.
    I can see their binding boxes on the stage, and move those but the images just do not show up.
    When I hit ctrl + enter to preview, I can see the images in the preview movie - just not on the stage working area!
    I tried restarting, shutting down, updating my PC, uninstalling programs, loading different file types (jpg), and resaving and reloading the PNG files. I even tried different types of Flash defaults. NOTHING WORKS.
    I hope someone can tell me what is wrong this makes no sense!

    Before you drag the image from the library to your stage, make sure you insert a blank keyframe (F6) on the layer you are working with, then drag to stage. This worked for me.

  • Poster image does not appear in IE

    I am having another problem with the poster image feature.  In IE7 & 8, the poster image does not appear at all when the player is first loaded. If the page is cached and loaded, the poster image appears fine.
     I think this is a bug, but can anyone confirm seeing this or fixing it?
    Thanks!

  • Image does not appear across all browsers

    On the main page, just below the "Available soon for..." there is an order now button. It only appears with Safari. I've tried Firefox, Chrome and IE and the image does not appear on any of those. The thing that gets me is that the image was there before and worked fine, all I did was make it bigger and relink it, so I'm confused why all of a sudden it doesn't show up.
    Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    when you say "Re-upload the image", do you mean reinsert it, or re-link it?
    Neither.
    Re-upload it to the web server from your local hard drive. In DW, click on the image file in the Files panel then click the Up arrow to Put the image to the server.
    If that does not work, do as Nancy suggests and re-create the image in your image editor then re-upload.
