Edited Photos from I Phone I Photo on Mac

I edited photos on my I Phone. When I import the photos from the I Phone to I Photo on my Mac, the photos import but the edits do not! Please help, thanks

You have to save the edited version on your iPhone to the Camera Roll before it will be synced to iPhoto on your Mac.

What is the problem? I worked fine before.

Provide the exact crash info and explain, what you are actually trying to do when the crash occurs. What tool or feature do you use? What kind of image are you working on?

  • Best Softwares to Edit Photos in Mac

    I have to Canon DSLR 600 D and EOS 5d Mark 3 and i own a MacBook.
When it comes to edit photos i need a windows machine to edit all of my photos because the tools are only avaialble in windows like photoshop. I've photoshop installed in my mac but, the shortcuts are damm to complicated. So, can you recommend any other software or tell me a way by which i can improvise the Photoshop shortcuts.

Photoshop on the Mac is the same as Photoshop on windows... with the exception that just about any time you're supposed to hold CTRL + any other key... on a Mac you hold COMMAND + that same key.
I use Aperture -- which is $79 on the App Store.  Aperture and Lightroom are _very_ similar in terms of functionality.
Apple originally created Aperture because Photoshop isn't actually intended as a tool for photographers... it was a tool intended for publishers.  Apple wanted to get rid of a lot of the complexity and create a program that, for the most part, does what you would have traditionally done in a darkroom with the goal of also
    (a) managing massive numbers of images -- it's a digital asset management app and is designed so that even if you shoot heavily and all the images you have cannot be stored on the hard drive because there's just too many... Aperture can manage offline images (stored on external drives) and can also support multiple libraries (but creating multiple libraries usually isn't necessary.)
    (b) it's optimized for "adjustment" (the sorts of things you'd do in a darkroom) and not designed for wholesale edits.  Whereas Photoshop will allow you to do things to a photo that don't represent reality (e.g. adding things to an image that weren't really there or distorting the image beyond anything possible in reality, etc.) Aperture (and Lightroom) allow you to apply "adjustments" such as exposure, shadows & highlights, color, noise, sharpening, curves & levels, etc.  It does do blemish fixing and has simple edit tools such as cloning.   Just about any adjustment that could be applied to a "whole" image can also be "brushed on" (or you can pply it to a whole image and "brush away" what you don't want) to create localized adjustments.  ALSO... you can apply changes to one image and copy those adjustments to a whole set of images instantly because you don't open files "one at a time" like you do in Photoshop.  You can also have plug-ins.  As the tool is not intended to replace Photoshop, you'd still need a tool like Photoshop (which is the SAME Photoshop on a Mac as on Windows -- no differences there) for more aggressive editing.
    (c) it's designed for a RAW workflow and it's non-destructive.  You can edit JPEGs, but since JPEG is more of a final output format and RAW provides better adjustment latitude, the tools are optimized for RAW.   To save space, everything you do to an image is not technically applied to a real physical image.  It's merely recorded as meta-data.  It knows how much you moved each adjustment and if you applied an adjustment in a localized area it records where the adjustment was applied.  But this just builds a list of changes you've made.  When you open an image, it opens the original... and then applies all those changes again instantly to render the "version" of the image as you left it the last time.  You can actually turn any adjustment on or off at any time (if you don't like how you applied one adjustment, you do not have to clear the image back to the original and start over.)   You NEVER lose the original data.
Nearly (but not quite) everything I need to do to an image I will do in Aperture.  It's very rare that I actually have to invoke Photoshop (which, btw, you can do directly from Aperture -- I just right-click on the image, pick "Edit in Photoshop" and it creates a duplicate (so as to not lose the current version) in which it applies all adjustments and then sends that image to Photoshop.  When you quit Photoshop it saves directly back into the Aperture library again.
The difference is... it's much much faster to edit lots of images in Aperture than it is in Photoshop.
Adobe... seeing this as a very real threat, then created Lightroom to prevent the mass exodus.  Since Apple created Aperture, it's only available for the Mac.  This was a huge benefit to Adobe because Lightroom runs on both Mac and Windows.  Lightroom is essentially designed to go toe-to-toe with Aperture (and it does this extremely well).  But because you can get Lightroom on either platform, Lightroom is more popular.  The downside to Lightroom is that it's made by Adobe... which means that like everything else Adobe makes, they sell it for far more than anything similar to it.
But there's _very_ little that you can do in Aperture that you can't do in Lightroom and vice versa.  Neither is "substantially" better than the other since they were basically both designed to do the same things.  As such, I like Apple's licensing and pricing better... which is that you buy it once on the App Store and it's licensed to every computer you own and this license is substantially less than what you'd pay for LIghtroom (especially if you own several computers.)

  • How do I get playlists from my phone on to my mac?

    Hi
I have an iPhone 4S that I've been using as my iPod. It has all my playlists and much of my music (though not enough memory for all my music). This all came from my old laptop. Earlier this year I bought a MacBook Air (love it!) and although I managed to move the music library across from my old PC laptop, using an external hard drive, the playlists didn't come with it.  When I try to sync my phone now with the mac for my music and select "synch playlists" I get the message "are you sure you want to remove existing music, etc, etc from this iPhone  and sync with the iTunes library".  No!  I want it to sync the other way round so that my playlists go ON to my library.  I also have new music I've bought from iTunes on the Mac which isn't on my phone because there's no room.
I have been inspired to sort this out because my new iPhone 6 arrives today (with lots of memory) and I want to get all the playlists and music on to that.  I'd be very grateful indeed for some advice - I'm sure i'm missing something obvious.
    best wishes

Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.
This is all described in the User's Guide, reading it may be a good place to start.

  • Photo Edits on iPad/Uploading edited photos to Mac.

    Good day everyone:
I made edits on photos I tool with my iPad, and when I was loading them to my Mac, I noticed the edits I had completed were gone.  Is there a way to upload them to my Mac without having to re-edit my photos?  Thank you all for your help.

  • Editing movies from my phone on imovie 09...

    Hi all,
I have been filming a lot of random stuff on my Blackberry lately, and would like to edit some on imovie to upload onto youtube. Now, in the past I know that I have filmed something with my bb and then managed to get it onto imovie but I have no recollection of how I did that. Basically, I bluetooth the movies over to my Mac and then open them with quicktime. I have tried exporting the movies into .dv files but that doesn't seem to work either. I'm sure in the past that I have just dragged them into a new event in imovie and then just taken it from there...
    Help, please???

I'll stay in this chat ... I answered in the other one ... I have a Sony digital Handycam ... from years ago.  I just got the LaCie and I think I formatted it for only to be used on my Mac ... how should I go about reformatting it to be HFS Extended like you said?

  • Transferring Photoshop CS6 Extended for Windows Student Edition software from a Windows PC to a Mac

I bought Photoshop CS6 Extended for Windows Student Edition for my PC online last year from Curry's PC World. I was told at the time of purchase that I would be able to transfer this software from my PC onto a Macbook. I have now purchased the Macbook and would like to transfer the software from my old Windows PC onto my new Macbook. Please could I have some assistance in doing so. Thank you!

You didn't mention who told you you could transfer the software, but I suspect it was not anyone from Adobe.  Versions are platform specific so there is little chance of installing the Windows version on a Mac without the use of a Windows emulator of some kind.  Since it is CS6, you do have the option to apply for a platform swap.  See the following...
    Change product platform or language
You can swap languages/platforms for a latest version product if you follow the instructions at the following link:

  • Edited photos from iphone 4s not saving when transferred to computer!!!

How come after I enhance my photos on my iphone4s and I transfer them to my computer, the changes don't save? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of editing them from your phone? Can this be fixed?

I am having the exact same problem. I am transferring photos via icloud to my windows 7 PC, some pictures I can rotate and others I can't. I get an error about file properties, even though the file properties are the same as the photos I can rotate. This is definitely some kind of bug.

Hello, I recently uploaded about 250 photos from my phone onto iPhoto. However, when I go to view them, they have already been auto-cropped. It seems I must click "Edit," and then "Crop," and then expand the box to the fullest size. I don't have enough time to undo this auto-crop with all 250 photos. Any suggestions?

    @SuperMan
I noticed this as well when navigating through the photo gallery on my iPhone.
If you (and he) are asking about iPhone operation then you are in the wrong place - this is the iPhoto for Mac forum - there are forums for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as iPhoto for IOS -
I do not see any cropping in iPhoto on the Mac for either camera or iPhone photos (I use PhotoStream with auto import to get my iPhone photos to iPhoto on my Mac) - and given the way iPhoto works it is really not possible to have auto-cropping - the only thing that I see even close to that is that when you select edit ==> drop the default crop is slightly smaller than the photo - but unless you accept that nothing is changed and the photo is exactly as imported

  • How do i delete photos from my phone that were downloaded off a computer i no longer have

I have 2 photo albums that won't delete when I go to edit my folders. I understand this is because I have taken them from a computer and put them on my phone. I also understand that if I plug my phone into the computer and go to iTunes I can select which photo albums I want on my phone and which ones I don't.
The problem I have is that the 2 albums I have on my phone are from an old computer I don't have anymore. And they are not on my new one that I'm using now. So when I go to selected photo albums in ITunes, those albums are not there for me to delete.

Try going to iTunes and remove the checkmark in front of "Sync Photos From" and then do a sync to see if it will remove all of the previously synced photos from the phone. If that doesn't work, try changing the selection of photos to be synced so that only one new photo is sent to the phone. If that successfully deletes the photos on the phone you can then select any photos you want added back to the phone and sync again. Note that each time you sync, iTunes sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current iTunes settings.

  • Can't remove a photo album from my phone

When I switched from Android to my iPhone 4S, I somehow ended up with a photo album called "Android pics" on the iPhone that contains photos that had previously existed on my Galaxy.  I want to remove them from my phone.  I can select the individual images, but there is no "Delete" like there is in the Camera Roll or Photo Stream.  If I select "Edit" from the Albums page, the Camera Roll and Photo Streams gray out but I still can't select on the Android folder.  What have I done and how on earth do I go about removing that album?

Connect the phone to your computer. Click on its name in iTunes, then click the Photos tab (on the right). Uncheck the folder containing the photos, then click Sync or Apply, whichever shows at the bottom of the screen.

  • So I had pictures in an album called photo library and when i backed up my iphone to my computer, the pictures disappeared from my phone. They were pictures that had originally been transferred from my blackberry to my iphone

I had pictures that I transferred from my blackberry to my iphone and they were in an album labeled photo library. my phone needed to be replaced so I backed it up to my computer and now my photos are gone. The camera roll pictures are still there but my 800 photos from my blackberry are gone. does anyone know where i can recover them from? are they gone forever? any help would be much appreciated. thank you

I transferred my photos (I cant recall how i did) from my old blackberry to my new iphone.
    Okay.
i also imported the photos to iphoto but it was only the pictures from the last six months (camera roll).
    Okay.
I dunno if this information is useful but the photos im trying to recover were in an album called photo library and they were permanent and couldnt be edited or deleted on the iphone.
These photos were never on your Mac. iPhoto only imports from the Camera Roll. You'd have needed to use a 3rd party app to get any other photos from your phone.

  • Cant edit photos from PC

    Oops, there it is.

this modular 747 has hijacked 3 of my posts today, this one, one regarding my wish for landscape photo and video to be enabled as default so you dont have to hold phone sideways and a previous one similar saying that when I edit photos on my Iphone that the changes do not transfer to the PC.
Its like because this one indivual does not share any of these problems they do not apply.
I have supported apple products from the start with exception of the PC which was for years the format to use in the business world.  Apple has always been my music, phone and now even apple tv device.
Confuses me why one person would take my posts so personal.
Please go elsewhere if you do not like my posts, or post if you dont like, just stop with the hijacking.
