Edited picture closed & saved not showing in organizer as edited?
Today, I have edited, saved and closed pictures as I have been doing for years but they are not showing up in organizer in the edited version. Using Photoshop Elements 9. Anybody know what may have happened?
Sandy
This could be because the option "Include in Elements Organizer" is not checked in Save As dialog.
See when you save the image in Editor, above option is checked.

When I try to include a white and black photo in a iMovie the result is a black totaly black picture which does not show in the movie. Why? Can it be fixed?
The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Other than that, what version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later try
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I have pictures that will not show until I select them. They show a blank square before selection. Can anyone advise me how to fix it?
Open View Options for the folder in which the picture resides; the Desktop counts as a folder for this purpose.
In the View Options window, checkmark the item "Show icon preview".
Note that this setting is not global; it affects only the folder for which it is set. -
Pictures from Folders on one Drive not showing in Organizer
Because one external drive failed, I had to transfer two large folder (with sub folders) from a backup drive to a new drive. Organizer sees the folders but does not show that there are any images in the folder. The images do show up when you get them in PSE by doing a File>Open. How can the situation be corrected?
Because PSE uses the unique volume ID of the drive to keep track of where your photos are located, the Organizer will not recognize those photos on your new drive as being in the catalog.
Use File...Reconnect...All Missing Files. You can pause the reconnection process by hitting the "Browse" button and pointing the reconnection to the location on your new drive.

Yes, did. Same result.
Sanity Check: Is it booting from LiveUSB/CD? I would not expect HDT/Reboot or Power Off entries from a generated grub config. I would expect those entries from a LiveUSB/CD.
From system itself, but tried all options (I knew) like 1) using fallback to install LTS and run commands, 2) live-CD, 3) kernel parameter systemd.unit etc
No worries, I am giving up on issue for some time.
EDIT:
Thanks

SOME pictures (only some) not showing up in the edit frame
Hello
Instead of viewing the picture in the edit screen, it's just grey, with an exclamation mark in the middle, and a white doted frame.
Strangely enough, this occurs only for pictures
1, imported from a CD,
2, and only for the pictures in landscape!
In addition, this issue is new: it worked perfectelly well two weeks ago. I am not 100% sure, but I think that within the 4 updates I dwonloaded a few days ago, there was an update for iPhoto. Could it be that there is a small problem with the last update?
Other info: around 2,500 pictures in my library, all .JPG
This is my first question on the forum, I hope someone has a solution!
Thanks in advance,It has to be some issue with the files coming from a PC to disk and then to the Mac. Give the following a try. It's a process that will create a new library and rebuild it without touching your original library so it's nondestructive.
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: It can take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. One user reported that with a library of about 5,000 images it took about 12 hours so plan ahead. -
Closed Captioning not showing up at specified In / Out points
Hi all,
I recently upgraded to a trial of 7.2.1 (I'm a *long* time CS user) and am having an issue with closed captioning that's got me pulling my hair out. Upon importing a .scc file and inspecting it in the captions tab, I have all the captions I'm expecting at the proper timecodes (for example if I look up the start of a line in the program window the start timecode matches the "In" timecode listed in the Captions tab).
However upon playing the timeline and turning on Closed Caption display - the captions are not displaying (nor disappearing) at the in/out timecodes listed in the caption tab. They're showing up (roughly) seven seconds later at the beginning of the program, and over 11 seconds late by the end of the program.
Does anyone have the foggiest idea how to resolve this? I guess it's possible it's just a player issue and the issue will correct itself on output, but that's not really comforting. I could do what I need on this job by renewing my license for some other software, but Premiere would be a more versitile use of my limited software upgrade budget - but only if it can actually do the job properly.Hi Mark and monstremoi,
With all the fiddling I've been doing in raw captioning files the fact that I didn't just try increasing the hight of the track is completely rediculous. Lo and behold, there are the handles! Once I could actually see the captions in the track I noticed something interesting - that the .scc and .xml files are being interpreted quite differently.
If I take the same caption source file and output one xml and one scc and lay them on top of each other, this is what it looks like:
The XML is starting immediately at timecode 0, even though the first start time should be 4:06 (weirdly the scc is actually starting at the right time code in this test, something it's refused to do previously).
If I manually set the offset of the first caption by forwarding the xml caption track to 4:06 we get this:
*This* XML track seems to play out synchronous with the program albeit with some odd formatting (it doesn't appear to be reading any of the font positioning information from the timed text file, it's just playing everything top frame, justified left.
Already though up above you can see though that although the SCC stars at the right timecode, it's starting to drift out of sync less than 30 seconds in - which doesn't make any sense when both have been output from the same 29.97 timebase source.
Monstremoi - to answer you questions, no I've not done any captioning work in premiere pro previously. I actually didn't even know it was a feature until I read about the improvements in CC. Most of our captioning files come from Annotation Edit (zeitanker.com). If they're not prepared in AnnotationEdit / AnnotationTranscriber, we usually do some conversion work through it before outputting (usually to set offsets or whatever if we're adding presentation cards or something).
Happy to send you files to pull apart - although I'd rather not post them as a forum d/l link. Do you have an e-mail I can send them to? -
Pictures in iphoto not showing
I just purchased a new MacBook pro and transferred all my files from my 2007 MacBook. Everything worked well but now, there are many pictures in my iPhoto library that are showing up as grey squares. Sometimes, when I'm scrolling, I can see the picures for a second but then they go grey agan.
I've tried to rebuild my library but this didn't work. The pictures are still showng up okay on my old MacBook.
Thanks in advance!KDid
Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
You have corrupted your iPhoto library by not having enough free disk space for iPhoto to save everything - you should always have 10% of your total hard drive with a minimum of 10 GB of free space to assure safe operation of your computer -- Hopefully only your database description file was corrupted
Just to be sure tha tyou are using the correct library launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) key and use the locate library option and point to the iPhoto library on the external drive
If this does not fix it Do you have a backup? If you do this is the time to load it - if you do not it is a great time to start keeping one
Try rebuilding your iPhoto library - launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) and command (apple) keys - select all options
If that does not work download IPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - and use its rebuild option
If neither works you will have to create a new library - quit iPhoto and launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) key and use the create library option (create it on your external hard drive), check the iPhoto preferences and be sure that the option to split items imported from the finder into events is not checked and open the old iPhoto library and the originals folder and drag each folder in the originals folder to the iPhoto icon in the dock - this will recreate your events with the original photos - the edits, keywords, books, slideshows and other projects will be gone

CS6 Images saved not showing image in preview finder to upload or open.
When saving images in CS6 I can see them as preview icons of the image in finder by itself, but if I open a file in photoshop to find an image, i only have titles and not the images. ALSO when I go to upload an image to blog or facebook, again I have no image icon of what is there, only a blank space and a file name. I HATE THIS as it makes it takes too much time to figure out where the picture is. I am a graphic artist and a painter and I cannot work like this. HELP PLEASE. Does not matter what type of file.. tiff, png, jpg etc... there is no image to see when opening through photoshop or any upload situation. I am able to see the images from FINDER by itself or if I am placing them into MUSE or INDESIGN.
SO I am totally confused why I cannot see them to load on blogger or facebook or to open them in photoshop.
Mac OS X lion 10.7.4 NVIDIA GEforce 7300 GI 256 MB 2x2.66 GHx Daul Core Intel xcon 10 GB 667 mhz ddr2 fbdimm

PaceNot sure if what you're seeing is related to the general problem being reported about missing thumbnails on Macs, but you might want to look through this (fairly long) thread:

Pictures and video not showing in lesson 9 of Adobe Classroom in a Book
I have been doing all the lessons in the book and everything is fine until lesson 9 where I get the "Media offline" note instead of video and pictures. How can I fix this? I must have changed some setting by mistake.
It looks like I fixed the problem of the offline video clips. Something strange though. I found my lessons located in BOTH of the following paths: C: Users / Dan / My Documents / Adobe / Premiere Pro / 6.0 / Lessons. AND: Libraries / Documents / Adobe / Premiere Pro / 6.0 / Lessons. I don't know how the lessons got in the Libraries path. I copied the Lessons to the C: Users / Dan /... path only. What I did was when the dialog box showed up asking where the file is, I clicked the drop-down arrow and found it in the "Libraries" path and then the video finally showed up in my project instead of saying "offline". I wonder if there is a way for the files to NOT also copy to the Library path in addition to my intended path?
Thanks so much for taking the time to help!

Pictures in Idisc not showing up for import into aperture 3
When I attempt to import photos from the Idisc into Aperture the photo are not visible in the import window. This is also true for a thumbdrive. I can see them on the Idisc or thumbnail drive if I open the disc or thumb drive and I can open them directly into finder. Why are they not visible from within Aperture?
Select a button and see if the asset is set to be the video and appropriate timecode where there's actually a picture and not a black screen (depending on what kind of production this is, obviously..)

Pictures from iPhoto not showing up properly on iPhone 4s
With my iphone 3G I wanted my photos organized into groups so I could look through specific photos rather than a cycling through ALL my images. So I took some advice I found online and organized my photos into albums in iPhoto and had my iPhone sync the albums from iPhoto. I also upgraded my phone later on and all the photos worked fine for a while, but now it barely works at all. When I click on one picture, it will jump to another or show the image of a camera with a clock in the center. Some of the images which were clear when they were originally on the phone(i.e. when taken or downloaded) now appear really fuzzy as if they are still loading. On my computer the pictures still look fine, but on the phone they are a mess, and it seems like some pictures are in the wrong albums too.
Any help?
Using an iMac with Lion, iPhoto '09, and an iPhone 4S with ios5First try
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears)
If that didn't help then delete the albums and sync them back again. -
Picture thumb nails not showing up?
i have i photo version 4 a nd i was running out of space on the harddrive, so i purchased an external hard drive to store photos on and free up space on my main drive. i copied some photos from my root photo directory and now when i go to my iphoto library, i can see all the photos but only when they are zoomed out at a certain small size. when i double click the photo to go and edit it, the photo doesnt show up just a blank image, and on the left side it says that the photo is 0 bytes. How can i fix this issue and how should i back up my photos so i dont have this happen again.
thanksi copied some photos from my root photo direct<<<</div>
That was your mistake. Don't ever mess with the innards of the iPhoto Library folder - it's an invitation to bleeding ulcers. Instead, you should have moved the folder AS AN ENTITY and then open iPhoto and tell it where to find the library.
