Edited slideshow in Premier Elements

I created a slideshow in PSE 9, and now I want to edit it and burn a DVD in Premier Elements, but I can't figure out how to transfer/import the slide show into Premier elements.  Appreciate any help.

  • Unable to resize the Edit window in Premier Elements 11

I am unable to resize the premier elements edit window - it just leaves a trail of images of the edit window on the screen when I try to make the window smaller - It doesn't refresh the desktop behind, no problem using and resizing window in Photoshop Elements 11 installed at the same time and also the organise window is resizeable OK just the edit window a problem - any ideas - I am using Windows 7 64 bit?

Full -Computer spec is - Windows 7 64-bit, 8Mb RAM, Processor Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10 GHz and graphics card AMD/ATI Radeon HD6570 2Gb RAM - Updated windows and Graphics card driver. When rebooted my windows had gone into an Aero theme and worked OK - but putting back to windows classic - problem returned i.e. Organise editor OK but Video Editor with just New Project and no media added resizing window just leaves a trail around the screen. Put back to Aero theme and now OK again.  Tried going into System properties / advanced / visual effects / Show windows contents whilst dragging - and turned off but still did not work with Windows classic theme.
So don't know why it is happening but it is at least a work around - thanks for your help.

  • Trial edition of Adobe Premier Elements

I want to make my video on Adobe Premier Elements 11 but im using the trial version. Everytime i put a picture, in the background, it says "created with adobe premier elements trail version". How do i delete that from my movie?
Please someone help me. I'm desperate.

    Welcome to the forum.
As has been stated, as long as the copy of PrE is the "trial," that watermark will appear, and be embedded in any output file.
When you do purchase the program, and plug-in your S/N to convert from trial to full-paid, you can remove that watermark, for subsequent output, but be sure to Delete any Render Files, as mentioned in that FAQ Entry, posted by John T.. That is an important step, and remember, any files output FROM the trial, WILL always have that watermark.
    Good luck,

  • Error Message when trying to open prodect in Premier Elements 10

I created a slideshow on Premier Elements 10, and saved it.  When I try to open the project I get an error message
"This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed"  Help please.

What steps are you taking to open it? It sounds like you may be trying to import the project file into your project.
To open a .prel file, go to the File menu and select Open.
Also, when creating a slideshow, be sure to downsize your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size, as I say in my books! This will save you a lot of struggles later.

  • How to use LightRoom with Premier Elements?

I have recently learned LightRoom 5 and feel fairly comfortable with it. I'm now in the process of working on movie editing starting with Premier Elements 11. I'm just starting to go through it and I see that it integrates with an organizer that seems germaine to the Elements group. Issue is that I'm already using LR for organization. Am consequently a bit confused.
Can anyone suggest how to work with LR and Premier Elements together?
A secondary question has to do with audio file management. I see that the Elements Organizer also includes audio files. But LR doesn't. To date I've managed audio with Windows Media Player. Can anyone offer any suggestions for moving forward with audio management?

I use Lightroom 5.2 and Premier Elements 11 on a fast video optimized i7 PC laptop with lots of memory.  It even has a Blu-Ray burner!
My photo and video files are first copied and stored by camera and date.  Then I use LR to organize and preview, review and select both photos and clips.  IMO, the clip preview ability of LR is very good.  LR will let you make some simple edits to clips but I don't use that for video, only photos.  My photos will be a mix of JPG and RAW and I will tune them with LR.  Some of the photos may get some extra masking or HDR work elsewhere and then brought back into LR.
As I've preview the clips, as well as photos, that I want to use I put them in a LR collection.  Next I prepare a project specific folder on my SSD named something like "Vacation Trip".   If it is a big project, I may make some sub folders such as city names.
The big step is to "Export" copies of all the assets I've selected for the collection.  I open the collection and select everything in it.  Right click, pick Export, set the destination, rename them if desired, select "include video", select "Original" video format, select PSD for images and push the Export button.
The reason for "Original" video is because I don't want any extra compression or processing of the video clips.  I want Premier Elements to do that.  The reason for "PSD" is that I want my LR adjustments of the still photos to be included before I put them in the project.
Next I open a new PrE project.  Before adding any assets, I make sure the the scratch disks are assigned to the project folder.
With the scratch disks set, I then load the assets.  I make sure one of the primary video clips is the first to be placed on the timeline as that adjusts the "Project Settings" if necessary.  Then I start building the video with the security of knowing I'm only working on a set of image and clip copies.
My audio file management is done entirely the old fashioned way in Windows Explorer.  I have an audio assets folder and a system of descriptive folder and file names.  I can preview them from Windows Explorer before I import a copy to a project folder.  Adjustments to volume and clip length are done to he copy in PrE.  I frequently buy a $2 audio clip from Vimeo specific for the project because I like having a license to use the music!
When I'm done, I move the entire project folder somewhere for long term storage.
Hope some of this works for you.  If you have suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them.

  • What computer or capability do I need for Premier elements 11?

I find that my Dell Studio 1555 becomes jerky or stops and starts when in the editing mode of premier elements. Its a 2Ghz, 4 GB machine. I'm not sure where the limitation exist. ie: memory, video card, the software itself? The Dell 1555 has no problem when streaming from youtube or from netflix etc. It only happens when using video editing software.
My question is, If it is the computer then what computer or specification do I need to keep the video from being jerky during editing playback.
If you can suggest some guidance I would appreciate it.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Premier Elements 12 on i7 4500U Turbo

I'm considering acquiring a Sony Vaio Flip 15.
Hoping to get "the best of both worlds". Wanted mobility of laptop, with added feature of a converable (to tablet mode), while still having enough power to support my video editing using Adobe Premier Elements.
The System Configuration of the Sony Vaio Flip 15 I am considering:
    4th gen Intel Core i7 4500U (1.8Ghz / 3.0Ghz with Turbo Boost)
    Windows 8 PRO 64bit
15.5 Full HD IPS TRILLUMINOUS Display for mobile (1920 x 1080) Touch Screen
NVIDIA GeForce GT 735M w/ Optimus (2GB) hybrid graphics
256GB (256GB x 1) solid state drive (I also have 1TB of NAS - 2TB mirrored) that I use to store my media)
    16GB (8GB x2) DDR3L-1600Mhz
Specs for Premier Elements System Requirements indicate a 2GHz processor of faster.
    My questions:
Will the overdrive capabilities of the i7 4500U (1.8GHz / 3.0GHz with Turbo) support Elements needs - and I don't just mean "install"?
I've seen post regarding Elements support for NVIDIA drivers. I specifically looked for an NVIDIA card figuring Elements would perform better on and non-integrated video card. Will I have issues with the NVIDIA card?
Any enlightening responses would be greatly appreciated.

    Bill and Steve,
    Thank you for your replies.
    Latest update:
I've abandoned the idea of including my requirement for a Convertable/Tablet. Given the processor requirements suggested by Steve and Bill's suggestion of a second storage drive, I began to reseach Gaming Laptops. I found two within my price range that seemed to have the cababilities that would support my video editing needs.
    The Alienware 14:
    4th gen Intel Core i7-4700MQ (8MB Cache, 2.8 Ghz / 3.8 Ghz with Turbo Boost) PaasMark = 9321
    Windows 8 PRO 64bit
    14" WLED FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare Display
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M with 2GB GDDR5
    256GB mSATA Boot + 750GB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s
    16GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600Mhz
    The Toshiba Qosmio X70-ABT3G22:
    4th gen Intel Core i7-4900MQ (6MB Cache, 2.2 Ghz / 3.2 Ghz with Turbo Boost) PaasMark = 7936
    Windows 8 PRO 64bit
    17.3" FHD TruBrite LED Backlit Display (1920 x 1080)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M with NVIDIA Optimus Technology 3GB GDDR5
    500GB HDD (7200rpm, Serial-ATA)
256GB mSATA solid state drive (SSD)
    500GB HDD (7200rpm, Serial-ATA) [2nd Hard Disk Drive]
    16GB DDR3L 1600Mhz SDRAM (8GB + 8GB) - Expandable to 32GB
I do use my 2TB Western Digital My World Bood Edition II as NAS for backup of my household PC, as well as primary archived storage of my media (video, photo and music). This NAS is actually mirrored (1TB each) and 4 years old, I am considering purchasing at least one 2TB WD External Hardrive for "offsite" backup - though I'm also evaluating alternative archive and "safe" backup implementations.

That Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update has generally been discouraged by the Photoshop Elements gurus. But, I am not going to factor that into this at this point.
This is what I would ask you to look at in the Elements Organizer 9 accessed from the Photoshop Elements 9 or Premiere Elements 9.
    a. Create your slideshow in the Elements Organizer 9/Create/Slideshow/Slideshow Editor. Then use the Output option of Edit with Premiere Elements.
From your description, you are probably using the Output Option of Burn to Disc DVD which will take your slideshow directly in the Disc Menu section of Premiere Elements 9. The preferred transfer of the Elements Organizer 9 slideshow to Premiere Elements 9 Editor is by the non wmv route "Edit with Premiere Elements" not the wmv route of Burn to Disc DVD.
Let us explore if any of the above is involved in your issue and then we will decide what next if necessary.
    Thanks.

I recently had some 8mm film transferred to DVD. I am trying to edit the film clips using Premier Elements 4.0. so I can reburn the films on a single BluRay disc. Some of the film clips copy into the project but others don't. I tried copying the VOB filed onto my hard drive and then changing the file extensions on the VOB files to MPEG but this was no help. Some of the VOB files contain numerous film clips but my software does not appear to be able to recognize them as such. I need to know if replacing my old Premier Elements with the new Version 13 would solve this problem or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    What do you have now.....
What computer operating system do you have?
We can go into the finer points of source and your intentions, but for now it would appear that you are using SD 4:3 source media to get to a HD 16:9 result. Lots to discuss in this regard.
What was given to you on the DVD disc? DVD-VIDEO 4:3 or something else?
If DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, you should expect to find on the disc a folder named VIDEO_TS. That is your target for your video files.
If you were given a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, then all you want from it are the video files, specifically
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, and so on through that series until possibly getting to
VTS_02_1.VOB, and so on. How many files you have beyond the VTS_01_1.VOB file will depend on the size of the DVD-VIDEO.
Does the above scenario apply to you?
The alternative might be someone giving a DVD disc (data disc) which contains just the VTS files mentioned which were copied from
the VIDEO_TS Folder. So, you do not get the whole VIDEO_TS Folder, just the essential video files. Does this scenario apply to you.
I see no need to replace your Premiere Elements 4 with a later version unless you have a huge project and need a later version that will be a 64 bit application running specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
Consider...Premiere Elements 4 and if you have DVD-VIDEO on DVD....
    1. Place the DVD disc in the burner tray
    2. Open Premiere Elements 4 and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard (assuming you are working in a NTSC setup)
    3. Go to
    Get Media
"DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader"
"Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" and its Advanced dialog.
Set the Source in the latter dialog for the drive which has your DVD disc inserted in its tray
You should see your VTS_01_1.VOB thumbnail in the "Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" Advanced dialog.
With this VOB selected, click on Get Media to get the file from there into the project.
    Should work fine.
Complications may be involved if the people who processed your footage gave you something other what is described above.
Please review and consider, and then we can plan our project strategy accordingly.
    Thank you.

  • Why doesn't my Premier Elements 11 software (bundled with Canon 6d) allow me to use elements editing

I have just loaded Premier Elements 11 bundled with my new Canon 6D camera (I also have elements 10 previously installed on my computer) but although it allows access to Elements Organiser, it doesnt allow me to edit anything via photoshop elements.  I just get an error message saying that Elements 11 is required and do I want to download a free trial?  I input the relevant licence numbers when I downloaded from the CD so is this not a full version of Elements or is there an error?

    The default version of ACR in PSE11 is 7.1;
The Canon 6D was issued later and requires version 7.3, so you have to update your ACR version to a recent one (up to 8.0) in the help / update menu.

  • ADOBE PREMIER ELEMENTS 7 Starts OK but Crashes during Editing

This program lets me open and import up to 30 small Video clips ,while editing  it's about this stage that it displays the following warning box :-  ADOBE PREMIER ELEMENTS IS RUNNING LOW ON SYSTEM MEMORY. PLEASE SAVE YOUR PROJECT & PROCEED WITH CAUTIION........OK (button).
My computer is a HP ELITE PAVILION with 4 gb. of system memory , I have taken it for granted that this should be adequate for this type of program.... is this correct or there something else wrong ??
The program case has a note that it is for Win.XP or Vista & I am using Win.7 is it posible that it might nead a patch to make it better ??
I would appreciate if someone could ASAP be of a help to me....All the best....Bill Ellis

    Hi Bill
Open the program and click Edit >>Preferences >>Scratch Disks
This should show the amount of spare memory for performing tasks.
If low you could add more disk space e.g. an external hard drive rather than main memory.
In general the software pre-dates Windows 7 but if it will run on Vista it should perform satisfactorily on W7.
If you need any more advice I would recommend going directly to the video forum.
