Editing a few seconds of 'black'

Okay... new problem today... LOL
I'm working on an 11 minute clip, and I have to make 2 cuts in it. I just want to add in a few seconds of 'black' in between those two cuts, but I can't figure out how.
I'm still used to HD06 (which I still prefer)
I just thought I could 'pull' the clip and it would leave the space black in between (like 06) but it doesn't seem to work that way.
Any suggestions?

If you look in the Maps browser over on the right, you will see some backgrounds you can use, including black. Just drag the black one where you need it, and then you can adjust its duration.
The other way to accomplish this would be to drag a title and drop it between the clips. It will default to a black background, and you just don't add any text to the title.
I recommend the first method.

- Try on another computer
- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Macbook screen goes few seconds to black screen

I didn't use my macbook for couple month and a couple days ago I did an software update. Now I was working yesterday on the macbook and my screen turned 4 times to a black screen. It was while i was working on the internet or on a word document... the computer don't turn off but only the screen goes black for 5-10 seconds. after clicking or something else the screen goes back to where it was.
Can some one help me please?

And when the Macbook goes back to the normal screen it makes the same sound as when the computer goes from sleeping mode to normal...

My iphone 5s screen went black...tried homeand power buttons together apple logo showed up for a few seconds then black again? Can in fix it or do i need to take somewhere?

I am live an hour from verizon store and three hours from an Apple Store. I would like to try something before driving that far.

You can try restoring the software first (which is what they will do at Verizon/Apple store).

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Mail app is blank. I can not see any thing but a blank page with blue lined format. It does not shut down either. It just blinks out after a few seconds and the icon is there alone on my home screen then everything goes black and my home screen comes

MY Mail app does not respond in anyway to anything. The icon shows I have over 300 emails but I have no access to them. When I tap on the Mail icon a blank white page comes up with the blue format lines. No emails, no inbox, nothing, not a single letter of the alphabet is there. Within a few seconds it blinks out and I see the icon and my home screen. Soon it just blinks out to black. I am left with the icon at the bottom center of the screen. I have no way to shut it down. I have no access to the emails (300) in my inbox. All that is happening is my memory is getting filled up with emails. I would appreciate any solution to this problem barring deleting my email set up in settings.

If I'm understanding your situation, you've got an iPad running iOS 6.1.3 and the Mail app is not working. I understand you don't want to remove and re-add your email account.
The first thing I would suggest is to make sure your iPad is backed up to iCloud or iTunes.
Do you have an iMAP or a POP email account? When you go online to your email service provider's website, are you able to access the 300 emails in your inbox?
Since the Mail app is part of your iOS operating system, upgrading that software to the latest version, which is 8.1.3 may resolve this issue.

White/black stripes on my screen for a few seconds on my Macbook Pro Retina

Sometimes there appear on white/black stripes on my screen for a few seconds. There isn't a specific programm or anything when he does that. It comes and it goes. I don't know if it's serieus problem. Do somebody know what to do?

Screen blacks out after a few seconds and won't return to normal state.

I have the 30 gig ipod photo that i got about a year and a half ago. Whenever I look at the screen to access music or anything, the screen blacks out like there's a screensaver or something and won't return back to normal. Even after I reset it, it stays normal for a few seconds and then blacks out again. The backlighting still works so it's just a bright black screen and I have function of the click wheel because it clicks everytime I move up or down. I already tried restoring it so I am all out of options. Anyone PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks

This happens rarely but consistently! I't seems to happen about 5% of the time waking from sleep. It MAY be more prone to happen if I had been moving with it in my bag, but it can happen at any waking time after any duration of sleep.

MacBook keeps blacking out for a few seconds

I have a weird new problem. It started blacking out (I thought it had switched itself off but it hasn't, it comes right back as it was after a few seconds) around every half hour or so. But now, just a few days after the problem began, it is blacking out every few minutes. Luckily it comes right back on and I don't lose anything, but it is annoying and certainly not right! Any ideas what this could be related to and how to fix it?

It sounds like it is either the inverter cable or the inverter board. Probably the latter. You can find repair guides, parts, and tools on ifixit.com. If your computer is under warranty, take it to an Apple store and have them fix it.

Ver 10.0.1. Entire screen blacks out for a few seconds when scrolling.

I recently updated to Reader X 10.0.1. Now when I scroll through a large document my entire screen blacks out for a few seconds. So far it has recovered. I get an error message saying that the NVidia nView driver (ver. 135.50) has stopped responding. I am running Windows 7 Pro on an HP Laptop, feeding to a large Samsung monitor. You are still under warranty. Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.

Screen blacks out for a few seconds occassionally

Sometimes my screen blacks out for a few seconds, then comes back on again. I have an original Titanium powerbook. Is this a warning signal of worse to come? I know I should replace the computer soon, but it's working just fine for now. I just don't want it to die before I've moved on to a new machine.

Obviously no one can predict with certainty what the future will bring, but if I were in your shoes, I would certainly think there was worse to come.
Many things could be causing this, but it sounds like a short circuit or bad connection, possibly with the display cables running through the hinges, or where they connect to the logic board. It could also be a sign of the display dying, though they usually just get dimmer and dimmer or simply die.
Does the "blinking" correspond to any movement of the PB?

My iPhone 3G phone button no longer works. If I push it I get a black screen for a few seconds then back to the home screen. Everything else is ok. Any ideas how to fix this?

The phone button on my iPhone 3G no longer works. Everything else on the iPhone works fine. I can receive incoming calls. I can make calls directly from Contacts. But if I press the phone button I get a blank white screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I've tried the hard reset and also restoring orignall settings via iTunes but keep getting the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for the advice but I've tried resetting network settings and also the reset by pressing home and sleep buttons until getting the Apple logo. Still have the same problem. To be clear (because I mistakenly typed black instead of blank in the title to this thread): If I press the phone button I get a BLANK WHITE screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I doubt it's the SIM card as I can receive calls and make them directly from contacts. What I can't do is view my favourite numbers or missed calls or access my voicemail, i.e. all the things you get to via pressing the phone button.

I have read on here that a PRAM reset can cure this problem:
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.

Why is my 24-inch LED display flashing black (and sometimes scrambles) every few seconds?

I have recently upgraded to a new iMac: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. 4 GB 1333 MHz DDr3. AMD Radeon HD 6970M. 1024 MB. Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4. I have it attached to a 24-inch Cinema Display.
Before I switched to my new iMac, it would blink black a couple of times a day. This was going on for a LONG time, but was not a big deal. However, now that I have switched to the new iMac, it is every few seconds. And it has now added the "scrambled" screen to it's repertoire. Fun. And, as I am typing this...it just went black and has not come back on.
I've read a few threads on this happening, but haven't found any substantial evidence as to what is causing this. It's beyond annoying. Has anyone learned anything new?

Okay. Murphy's Law. As soon as I posted this, I found an answer (hopefully!). My situation fit the criteria at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4045?viewlocale=en_US and I installed the update and so far, so good. I'll keep you posted.
