Thanks Steve
It is not about money :) But here most people have a work, and unless you ask specific questions they can not answer you. Also it is not nice to help someone who does not show he wants to learn, but just want to do some thing very fast.
an advice (altough I am sure you do not need it :) try learning java, you will see that what you learn in java is very helpfull also in other languages. There are planty of websites from were to start :) and when you are stuck then post here :) and I am sure some people would help out if you show them you did your best!

[points will be always rewardable]hi
u need a parser or validate the xml file for to read the xml file from java coding u need for this
xml4j.jar u can download this file from here
http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/xml4j
or we can use the SAX(simple API for XML)
some sample applications for this
http://www.java-tips.org/java-se-tips/javax.xml.parsers/how-to-read-xml-file-in-java.html
http://www.developertutorials.com/tutorials/java/read-xml-file-in-java-050611/page1.html

I really need your help.. and it is really urgent.. plz
Thanx in advanceIn the documentation for Savepoint it states "since 1.4"
You need a more recent version of java. I suggest using asupported version like 1.4.2_08 or 1.5.0_04 if you can get them.
If not try getting the source for 1.6.0 and compiling it for HPUX. -
Using the Insert statement in a Java program without hardcoding the data
hello.
this is james mcfadden. i have developed a program called Demo.java, which is used with another program called QueryTableModel.java (a program that allows data to be viewed in a JTable). The Demo.java program displays a menu, connects to a database, allows the user to add data into the database and allows the user to view data that is already in the database. I have a problem with the Demo.java program. I have hardcoded the Insert statement in it. How do you use the Insert statement to put data into a database without hardcoding the data?

This is the program I wrote LineRect just to draw a line a rectangle etc...... Y it is not working How can i used the same program to run without using applet that is by using awt and swing.........Pls Help me.............
import java.awt.*;
import java.io.*;
public class LineRect
{public void paint(Graphics g)
{g.drawLine(10,10, 50,50);
g.drawRect(10, 60, 40,30);
g.fillRect(60,10,30,80);
g.drawRoundRect(10,100,80,50,10,10);
g.fillRoundRect(20,110,60,30,5,5);
g.drawLine(100,10,230,140);
g.drawLine(100,140,230,10);
<APPLET
CODE =LineRect.class
WIDTH=250
HEIGHT=200>
</APPLET>There are many significant errors here for instance you are using a class file as if it were an applet yet you do not subclass applet. Your code has no init method (if it is to be an applet). Your best bet is to go through the tutorials one step at a time. One thing to consider is to subclass a JPanel and draw on the jpanel overriding the paintComponent method. This can then be added to a JFrame or a JApplet's contentPane and would allow the same graphics in both. But again, please study the tutorials on all of this, otherwise you will be doing hit-or-miss programming, and that is no way to learn.
Much luck!
Addendum: Also, if you are just beginning in Java programming, I suggest you start with the basics and not with Swing / AWT / graphics programming. Otherwise you will just end up bruised and disappointed. You have to learn to walk before you can run.

URGENT: How to run a Java program from a different directory?
Hi.
How do I run a Java program from a directory that the file is not located in? So lets say im in c:\Java. But the file is in c:\Java\abc\efg\.
What would be the command to run the Java file from c:\Java.
I can't remember it and I need it asap.
Cheers.If the class you are trying to run is MyApp.class, try
c:\Java\>java -cp abc\efg MyAppThe actual classpath you specify will depend on whether or not MyApp.class is in a package (I've assumed it isn't) and whether or not any 3rd party jars are involbed (I've assumed not).
Edited by: pbrockway2 on Apr 1, 2008 6:42 PM
The command arguments read as "Run the MyApp class using as a classpath abc\efg relative to here (c:\Java)". -
Starting a java program on System boot/startup
Hi,
I am trying to find out how to start a java program on system startup which basically spawns a Thread which in turn does some processing.
Came across windows specific options which help one make it as a service.Making a .bat for windows and .sh for linux could be a option but not sure where to put these in respective OS or whether it is a good option.
If someone has tried out similar thing please let me know the details for the same.
Regards
Raj[codes]
in command prompt
type edit startupor somename.bat
then type
cd C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_01\bin
javac data1.java
java data1
and save
[codes]
copy startup.bat file
and click on start-->programs--> startup(rigthclick and open)
then paste that file into that folder...
now you ll get that file opened whenever system boots.
reply if this was usefull;) -
Calling a JAVA program from an RFC in SAP ABAP

I am not sure but check this out
If you are using any commands , check if that command is configured in SM69 -
Execute a java program from an another program
Like we can compile a code from wihin a java file by using the following :
Tool javac = ToolProvider.getSystemJavaCompiler();
Similarly,can we execute i.e. run a java program from within a java file i.e. running d java command from within the java file ??If yes then please tell me how??suppose on the Unix box or from a Unix script ( korn, perl, bourne, bash) you can run the following java program
java ${JAVA_OPTS} -jar ${GMR_APPS_DIR}/risk.jar -I -c ${COB} -r ${BATCH} -o ${XML_DIR}
in java you can do the following :
Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
try {
Process process = rt.exec("java ${JAVA_OPTS} -jar ${GMR_APPS_DIR}/risk.jar -I -c ${COB} -r ${BATCH} -o ${XML_DIR}
// OR
Process process = rt.exec("/export/apps/Tools/apache-tomcat-5.5.17/bin/startup.sh");
// process.destroy(); if you want to kill the process
process.waitFor();
int RC = process.exitValue();
System.out.println(returnOutput(process.getErrorStream()));
System.out.println(returnOutput(process.getInputStream()));
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
empty the output stream from the script
private String returnOutput(InputStream is) throws Exception {
String s;
StringBuffer strBuff = new StringBuffer();
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(is));
while ((s = br.readLine()) != null) {
strBuff.append(s);
return strBuff.toString();
}You need to relace the ${} by the appropriate values.

Hi I need to want to load a java program on startup and I don't know how. Is it possible to have a script that tells the operating system to load it on startup or can it only be done through the operating system's settings?
On Windows you put a batch file in your startup that contains: javaw <myapp name> or edit your registry settings to achive the same result. On Linux and Unix derivatives there are also startup files you can edit and put entries in to achive that result.

Problem with creation of a jar file from inside a java program
Hi,
I am trying to create a jar file at runtime from within a java program.
I am able to create a jar file just fine using:
String[] jarArgs = new String[3];
jarArgs[0] = "cvf";
jarArgs[1] = "C:\temp\myjar.jar";
jarArgs[2] = "C:\temp\this";
sun.tools.jar.Main main1 = new sun.tools.jar.Main(System.out, System.err, "jar");
main1.run(jarArgs);However, when I look at the jar it puts the absolute path to the files inside such as:
C:\temp\this\is\my\package\Class.class
instead of only this\is\my\package\Class.class
When running the jar command from the command line it works just fine and I have the relative paths in my jar file.
Does anyone have any experience with this and could help me out?
Thanks in advance
Edited by: mruf on Apr 11, 2008 1:51 AMShouldn't jarArgs[2] = "-C C:\temp\this"

Work with result of a select in an external Java Program
Hi!
i would like work with a field of a select in a external java program. I give you an example:
i want copy a table into another table, but i want do a little modification (before insert action) in one parameter via Java class wich parameter is a field in the select.
Example:
i've two tables:
TABLE_BACK (ID, CARACT)
TABLE_NEW (ID, CARACT)
and i've a java Method in an external class com.upc.myClass.modifyCaract(String paramS)
Then, before insert a row in table_new, i want do a transformation in Caract field from table_back. I want do something like this:
INSERT INTO TABLE_NEW (ID, NAME) ( SELECT ID, <%=com.upc.myClass.modifyCaract('I WANT HERE CARACT FIELD FROM TABLE_BACK') FROM TABLE_BACK )
is it possible? how can i do it?
Thanks!!

valdomirHola Valdomir,
Que tal estas? Ya ha empezado el calor en Barcelona ? jejejejejejej
Well, I think to be possible do what you need.
1) In a procedure step, at source tab query the values, something like:
select caract as MY_CARACT from TABLE_BACK
2) at target tab, use the tags "<@ @>" to import the java class (after put it in the correct ODI directory).
3) at same target tab, after the tag just write (as your example):
INSERT INTO TABLE_NEW (ID, NAME) ( SELECT ID, <@=com.upc.myClass.modifyCaract('I #MY_CARACT) FROM TABLE_BACK )@>
I think this will be enough....

Java program not working using newer version of scheduler (AutoSys)
A little background: I'm in the middle of trying to upgrade our AutoSys server (scheduler) to the latest version (version R4 to R11) and have to do regression testing to ensure our jobs will work in the new version. There's a small java program that is not working supposedly due to the following error:
Exception in thread "Main Thread" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/f1j/swing/common/JDKAdapter
at com.f1j.swing.common.Adapter.<clinit>(Adapter.java:86)
at com.f1j.swing.engine.ss.JBook.<init>(JBook.java:3032)
at com.f1j.swing.engine.ss.JBook.<init>(JBook.java:3096)
at com.test.Foo.performScan(Foo.java:122)
So in the old version (R4), it runs fine. In R11, I get the exception above. The CLASSPATH matches and I've verified that by echoing it in the shell script that calls the java program. Here's how it's called in the shell script.
echo $CLASSPATH
${JAVA_HOME}/bin/java com.test.Foo
So the Foo class was written by me, which makes use of this external library called f1j11swing.jar (for spreadsheet creation).
The source of the error is from this line in Foo (line 122):
book = new com.f1j.swing.engine.ss.JBook();
The funny part is JDKAdapter (the missing class) is in the same jar file as JBook, so it definitely finds the library in the classpath. But for some reason, this new AutoSys version is spitting out this error. I've exhausted many approaches to resolving this, but I'm still stuck.
Here's the layout of how things are called (should be same for R4 and R11):
1. AutoSys server logs into client machine XYZ as user arnold
2. arnold (AutoSys client) on XYZ executes shell script to call java program
The only significant difference I see is that the AutoSys server in R4 is HP while the R11 server is Sun. However, it shouldn't matter because the client server they're logging into to execute the script is the same linux server.
Does anyone have any ideas? I've already started dialogue with the vendor and it seems kind of in limbo at the moment. Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks.Hi DrClap,
I just checked jre/lib/ext of my $JAVA_HOME and verified that there doesn't exist any library with a class named "Adapter." We don't put anything in this directory other than what came with the original installation. I've tried isolating the jars before as well, by doing something like (to no avail):
java -cp /users/test/lib/f1j11swing.jar:/users/test/lib/Foo.jar com.test.Foo
If I remove the f1jswing11.jar path in the above command, it will complain about other things. Also, for fun, I tried dropping f1j11swing.jar into the ext folder and removing it from the CLASSPATH and it yielded the original error. Running it directly from the shell and old version of autosys works fine.
I hope I understood your suggestion correctly and please let me know if you have any other ideas. I'm surprised why java would act differently with a different version of an AutoSys client logging into the same machine and environment. Thanks.
xiarce - I haven't heard anything regarding this, but I'll bring it up. Thanks.

Java program/package in project tree
On a fairly large web services project I am working on I started using
workshop to develop a couple of straight java programs and put them in the
project tree right next to the jws programs. This worked great, I could
take advantage of the debugging and code completion type editing capability
in Workshop. Last week I moved this source code, plus all of the common
classes, into a directory under the top level project directory
(com/myCompany/api/structures and com/myCompany/api/util) and copied the
programs into there (Workshop changed the package names appropriately). It
all ran fine.
This week another developer got the latest pull from source control with the
directory mentioned above but cannot build. The message is "Package
com.myCompany.api.util not found in import". I am looking right at the file
structure and is the same as on the original machine that it was built on.
Any idea why it cannot find that file/directory/package?
Is there anyway to forceworkshop to build a java program? The build menu
command is disabled when working on a java file.
It would be great to have a section in the support docs about writing java
classes in Workshop. We are determined to keep our jws's (what's the plural
of jws!) lean and use helper functions and/or business object/model
functionality for the bulk of the work. I know V1 of workshop has not
focused on this java editing capability but it is there and it's pretty
strong. Without this you have
to work in a seperate IDE to write helper classes do a build there and then
come back to Worskhop.
I'd like to know things like 1) when and how does workshop decide to do a
build of the java classes 2) is it possible to put other source code like
libraries somewhere so that I could debug right into these? and 3) how does
workshop resolve it's package structure at build time (other than
web-inf/classes)?
Thanks!Well, our problem seems to be fixed but I'm not sure why. The java classes
had not been deleted from the top of the project tree. When we deleted them
suddenly the import started working ... go figure ... maybe it was something
else we did. I would still be interested in answers to my more general
questions about java source in workshop if possible ...
thx

Hello Expert,
My Config is : -

NetworkInterface network = NetworkInterface.getByInetAddress(ip);
byte[] mac = network.getHardwareAddress();
/*System.out.print("Current MAC address : "); */
StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
for (int i = 0; i < mac.length; i++)
sb.append(String.format("%02X%s", mac[i], (i < mac.length - 1) ? "-" : ""));
System.out.println(sb.toString());
} catch (UnknownHostException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
