Editing a MS Word document on CD

Okay, I am working on a variety of books which I want to save on CDs so that I can more easily access the individual chapters in order to edit them as I need to. How the F do I go about doing this? I inserted a blank CD-RW and saved a chapter to its location, even naming the CD, but...when I ejected it my Macbook Pro seemed to save a permanent copy of the disk to my HD (which isn't want I want; it's a waste of space) unless I burn the chap. to the CD, but....when I burn the doc. to the CD I cannot add any future docs. to the CD nor can I go back and edit my previous documents. However, when I didn't burn the docs to the CD, after I ejected it and re-inserted it, the doc. wasn't saved.
Anyone have any advise?

As Cattus Thraex indicated, you cannot edit files once they are burned to a CD/DVD. Rewritable CDs can be completely erased and written to again, but you can't actually edit files that you put on them. You can use flash drives or external hard drives for this... either of which would also be many, many times faster.

What's happening when you try to edit the file? Have you tried triple-clicking in the text block that you want to edit?

Need an app to edit and sign word documents (sign with stylus)! Notability let's me sign but doesn't pull up letter head, quickofficepro let's me edit but not sign. Looking for an app that does both

I am looking for an app where I can edit word documents as well as sign them. I am a physical therapist whose looking to cut down on paper work. Someone types my evaluations and then we print them out for me to edit by hand and then they go back and make the corrections on the computer then w print them and sign them to send off. Recently I have begun using apps where I can pull up the document and edit it thru quickofficepro or through cloudon, but I cannot sign them using a stylus pen. I also have notability which I can use to sign the documents, but it doesn't save the document as a doc, it's either a PDF or rtf. Also, in notability, it doesn't pull up the letter head for our company which is a template with our logo on it. So I need an app where I can both edit and sign my documents by hand using a stylus. If someone could provide me with any relevant information I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

I cannot edit a converted Word document

After I downloade a doument that was emailed to me......and converted it from PDF to Word .......can I edit that document ?

the PDF was an email to my home computer from my office...it is a list of
names and addresses for labels.
I did click 3 times on one of the labels and nothing happened

I lost a ton of edits using a word document (docx) opened in the browser, can you help?

It was a docx file and I don't have this installed on my system. I edited it not realizing this, save as...in word, now it doesn't show anywhere....

go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"

How to Edit Word Document in Oracle ADF Application - Apache POI

I was wondering if there is a way to edit and save word documents in Oracle ADF without loosing the Formatting.
I was able to edit and save the word document however the Formatting was lost.
Please let me know if there are any pointers or open source Java APIs that we can use to achieve this.

Storing/Editing Word Documents in Forms 6i

Has anyone done this in 6i ?
Apparently, the only solution is to write some JavaBeans. Has anyone done this and are there any samples that would allow us to do this other than the samples on Technet as unfortunately they do not help much.
It seems as though this is a fairly common request so I am hoping that someone has done it and will be able to help.

I think it is better to use LOB's instead of LONGRAW in 8.1.6 ?
Can you edit formatted text (WORD document) if it is stored in a CLOB or BLOB datatype.
Has anyone got any pointers to examples of storing formatted text and being able to edit it.

Can't browse to Word document

I am trying to use Contribute to browse to and then edit a MS
Word document on the webserver. When I click on the link in the
website of the word document, I always get a popup window asking to
open in Word , or save the file. The file is then edited/saved on
the local machine, never updating the website version. The page
displaying contribute never changes from the page with the word
document links.
I was reading that you should be able to navigatate to the
document and then select 'edit with external application'.
Any ideas?

because as I understand it, this is a RoboHelp for Word project.
Folks, I know it appears to be a seductive thing to want to
try and do. I'm talking about the desire of "sticking with the
Devil you know" meaning Word.
If you are creating WebHelp output, it would behoove you to
at least give RoboHelp HTML a once over. The editing interface is
very "Word like". You will find that a great many things you
struggle with Word over disappear in RoboHelp HTML.

Office Control does not display word document

HI all,
I followed the example code to display a word document in the office Control UI, but the display remains blank when I push the button to 'show document'.
I do not have MS Office installed on the server so I have a wordpad named example.doc on the C drive. Can I read the data from wordpad and display it on the Office Control?

I opened a document from my emails on Microsoft word. I edited the document and now want to save it as the new edited version but how do i do that? If i press the back button i lose everything and i cannot see anything that can help me?

To edit and save word documents you need a document editor. Apple has the Pages app, Micorsoft has their 'free' versions of word for mobile devices (I use the term free loosely because you can download and read for free but if you want to edit and save it requires a yearly subscription to office 365)
Or there are third party document editors out there. I use documents to go (not free ware, around $10-20 I believe) and there are other free document editors.
You would find a document editor of your choosing, save from your mail into that app. Edit, save and then export or 'send' back out of that app to the mail app.

The application Acrobat provides no language translation capability.
If you localize the language for OS, MS Office applications, Acrobat, etc to the desired language try again.
Alternative: transfer a copy of content into a web based translation service (Bing or Google provides a free service).
Transfer the output into a word processing program that is localized to the appropriate language.
Do cleanup.

Odonnells52 you will still need to install Adobe Acrobat Professional prior to being able to make edits to PDF or utilize Acrobat. By default the installation files have been saved to your download folder.
If you continue to face difficulties with the Adobe Download Assistant then please see Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant.
You can also download the installation files directly from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X if you are unable to locate the downloaded installation files.
