Editing a R3D 4K video in Premiere Pro CS6
I'm trying to edit a R3D 4K video in PP CS6, but even after I render it the playback is very slow and jerky (jumpy). What can I do to fix this problem?
Thank you
You should mention what hardware (cpu, memory, drives, graphics card, etc.) you are using. RED media is very demanding and a system that works well for HD may not work well at all for the bigger formats.
On a system that does not have enough ooomph to playback RED smoothly, even when the lowest playback resolution (1/8th) doesn't help, from the CS6 menu do a Sequence / Render Entire Work Area. This will take a lot longer than the quicker "enter key" render, but may provide much smoother playback on a system that cannot deal with non-rendered media in real-time.
On a technical note, RED playback without a full render really taxes the CPU(s) of your system - check out Task Manager while playing back. Once you have done a full render, you only need enough drive speed to server the larger, rendered files for playback.

Jim

How to edit iPhone 5 video in Premiere Pro CS6?
I am new to Premiere Pro CS6 (new to video actually), and iPhones as well, and was wondering if there is a detailed procedure on editing iPhone 5 video in Premiere Pro CS6. Do I just attach the phone to the computer like any movie camera?

Editing Faster You Way with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 | Adobe at NAB 2012 | Adobe TV

See how Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 combines incredible performance with a sleek revamped UI, and a host of powerful new creative features, including Warp Stabilizer for stabilizing footage, dynamic timeline trimming, expanded multicam editing, adjustment layers, and more for a fluid workflow.
http://adobe.ly/HImtcESleek revamped UI?
Until the UIs across all CS products are consistent, the UI as a whole is a complete failure.
It is astounding how after all these years, the CS products STILL have different UIs and UXs. Even the way the user accesses basic functions for layers (rename, duplicate, etc.) are not consistent from one app to the next.
So please hold the comments about the UI, other than "We realize we have completely failed, and our different product groups do not care at all about a unified experience across the suite, and each just want to do their own thing. And nobody in Adobe was willing to beat our groups up to force them to have some consistency. That is priority #1 for our next release." -
Problemas al importar videos en Premiere Pro CS6
Buenos días a todos:
Hace 1 mes me he comprado un Toshiba Satellite 850-31M.
Muchas gracias

Editing Microsoft Live Meeting video in Premiere Pro
Hi list...
I'm trying to edit a Microsoft Live Meeting video capture in Premiere Pro CS3/Win. The Live Meeting video is 4fps. I can make the edits, but it's exporting at 30fps no matter what settings I try to choose, thereby significantly increasing the outputted file's size compared to the original. What kind of settings can I use to preserve a small file size, while maintaining the video's original dimensions. The audio was low quality mono, 8khz.
thanks,
- Michael M.Well, there's not really any absolute correlation between your sequence's frame rate and the frame rate of the export you create from it. You can set the frame rate of the export to (most) anything you want. I was able to export a 4fps WMV file without having a 4fps sequence.
Now, you may have some frame blending that occurs if you're using a clip that doesn't match the frame rate of the sequence. As we've discovered (didn't notice this until you pointed it out), you can't go below 10fps on a sequence/project preset. So, what I would suggest would be to use a sequence timebase that is an even multiple of your desired export; I think you could use 24.000fps (not 23.976fps) and turn off Frame Blending (right-click your clip and uncheck it) so that when you export to a 4fps WMV, only the original source frames are used--not interpolated frames. Does that make sense? -
Import mpg video into Premiere Pro CS6
When I try to import video taken with a Sony Handicam DCR SX63 I get a "There was an error decompressing audio or video". In searching this issue I find many people with the same issue but never a resolution. Is there one? That a novice could implement??
MPG format is clearly stated to be compatible. Copied directly from camera to computer via USB it plays just fine. Converting it to a different format (MP4) with DVDVideoSoft Free Studio I can import it into Premiere Pro and do my splicing / editing.
But.. my end result is not as clear (and files are much larger) so feel if I could use the original and stay in that format.. my results would be much better.
My project is very simple.. combine some clips, remove some bad footage and burn to a DVD.. any advice on alternate formats would be appreciated as well.
Thank you for your time
RalphThank you for your time John.
Your last link deals with taking files off a SD card.. this is not my case but there is mention of renaming files creating a problem. So.. I re-download all my video from my camera using Windows Explore and copied the entire folder and root (Videos\MP_ROOT\101PNV01). My previous download using Windows Media.. did in fact rename the files. However I get the same error when trying to import with Premiere Pro.
In my previous searches for a solution I was pointed to your mediainfo applet.. running that on any of the newly downloaded video gives me this report: Open to more suggestions..

Best settings for 4k video in Premiere Pro CS6
I am trying to nail this down. I have an (Asus G20AJ Series) ASUS i7 3.6 Ghz with 16GB RAM 64 bit. I now have a drone that uses 4k video. I am pretty sure I have the rendering down but I wanted to ask if you guys can suggest options for all the best settings for setup, playback and export of the video. My drone does video of 4096x2160 @23 fps. When I went to render the 6 minute file, wow, it was going to take more than 4 hours! Is this right? Any info you can suggest would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Jeff

Options for old video in Premiere Pro CS6
Hello, so I recently discovered a VHS tape from a long time ago that contained family videos that were professionally transferred from old actual film to this VHS tape. I copied the VHS tape to a DVD so I could work with it in PP but with all the effects available, I really don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated. I will tell you the video is grainy in spots and we kind of like that because it captures how old the films were when they were taken. Basically what I am looking for is if anyone can speak to any of the effects, or combinations of effects, that could enhance the video. I am intermediate level at least so thanks for your time.

Chroma bleeding Premiere Pro CS6
When I edit interlaced video in Premiere Pro CS6 I get chroma bleeding. It seems that the chrominance information is always taken from the other field. I tested the same video with Premier Pro CS5.5 and this problem was not present there.
Premiere Pro CS6 version 6.0.3 and Premiere Pro CS5.5 version 5.5.2 was used.
The footage was taken with Sony HVR-Z1E camera.
The first row of images are from Premiere Pro CS6 that exhibit chroma bleeding. The second row are the same images but from Premiere Pro CS5.5 that does not exhibit chroma bleeding. The third row are crops of the 1st and 3rd images.
I believe that this is a software bug and hope that it wil be fixed. But I would also apriciate a workaround from someone who expierences the same problem. When I edit interlaced video in Premiere Pro CS6 I get chroma bleeding. Problème Premiere Pro CS6 - Prévisualisations
Bonjour,

Premiere Pro cs6 keeps crashing when im editing or rendering a video
When I am on Adobe Premiere Pro cs6 every 10-20 mins it crashes when im editing a video, it crashes more often when im rendering it (export media, ctrl+M). I dont mind when it crashes while im editing because i save the file regularly but when im rendering its a problem, it probably because the file is too big as i use dxtory to record skyrim but this is an expensive product so it should be able to render. I encode the file once ive chosen the format and stuff for the video and it says finish rendering in 50 mins or so and when it gets to like 4% rendering it says not responding. It then troubleshoots but then says 'close program'. this is very frustrating, please can someone help me. I've looked through the forums but i dont uinderstand many of the solutions as im not that good at computers

Problem Playing Video in Premiere Pro CS4
I am having a problem playing video in premiere pro. When I input any movie clip and try to play it in both the timeline and in the preview mode, the audio works fine but the video only plays a few seconds worth of footage at a really slow pace so that it takes up the entire time. For instance if I load a 3 minute video, the sound is normal but over the coarse of that 3 minutes I will only see a small number of the frames and they are cycled through in ultra slow motion.
All the clips play normally outside of premiere. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I have premiere installed on my laptop and it works fine. I have tried rendering the video first and it still doesn't work. I have tried holding shift before the program is loading and it did nothing. I have downloaded all the updates too. Videos seem to play fine in After Effects.
Also, I am having trouble when importing HD video into premiere and after effects. For some reason the programs freeze when I try to import footage from my Creative Vado HD pocket video camera.
Here are my computer specs
Windows Vista Ultimate 32 Bit
Intel Core2 Quad q8200
ATI Radeon 4670 Graphics Card
Gigabyte Motherboard
4GB of 800 Mhz RAM
This is really frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciatedKeith,
The file extension .AVI indicate a "wrapper." All sorts of stuff can be in that wrapper *. Some of that stuff will play/edit fine. Much will not and create issues, as you have seen. Your camera uses a CODEC to create those .AVI files. That CODEC is the issue. I recommend G-Spot to find out what the CODEC is. Some times it's just a matter of having the proper CODEC installed on the computer. Most of the time, it takes much more than that - hence Eddie's links on "conversion." At least G-Spot will get us all on the same playing field, and explicit help can follow - probably to study Eddie's links. My guess is that your camera uses some form of DivX CODEC, hence the problem that you see.
Good luck,
Hunt
* Think of .AVI like the foil wrapper on a stick of gum, when you remove the outer lable. You know it's gum, but not what flavor. Could be Juicyfruit, or Spearmint, or Double-mint. G-Spot will tell you the flavor. PrPro likes some flavors, but hates others.
