Editing a Task

Dear Experts,
I am facing a strange problem. In swdd when I go to task inside activity step, I see that from the menu
Standard task - Display<->Change is disabled. In swu3 I see that maintain runtime environment, maintain definition time environment, classify tasks as general are all green. So I am currently going to PFTC each time to edit the task. Can you please tell me why this option is disabled.
KR,
Bharath

Hi Swami,
Thanks a lot for your reply. I also tried with user decision step. I copied the 00008267 std task id into a custom task id. There also similar to activity step task I find that I am not able to edit it. Swami before reporting this to Basis I want to confirm that this props is not due to any workflow setting if any that I have missed. Swami can you please tell me whether is there any thing else that I need to check.

  • Sharepoint Designer Workflow - Edit this task button not showing in outlook for some users.

    Hello all,
I have created a "collect data from user" workflow in Sharepoint Designer, with around 9 "else" instances as to who to collect data from. My problem is that some users do not have the "Edit this task" button at the top of the email (Nor do they have the
"create rule.." button). They DO have the enabled hyperlink in the body of the email, which brings them to a screen where they can view the details of the task, then edit it by clicking on "Edit".
My users who have the button at the top of the email are having a much more simplified experience, and I would like all users to have it. All permissions are equivalent across the board as best I can tell. Is this an Outlook settings issue perhaps?
    Any input is much appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Hi Fender,
Please can you confirm which version of Outlook your users have (and if they are all on the same version)? All my none 2007 users lack the Edit Item button, and have to use the links in the body of the email, which I believe is simply due to the fact that
2003 et al lacks the same SharePoint integration options as 2007.
    Cheers

  • Edit the task flow which is default in template for top navigation

    Hi,
Where can I get the the default task flow file (i. e. spacesNavigationPanel) for collaborative with top navigation template?
I want to edit the task flow for navigation.
    Thanks,
    A

Here are the steps to find the default task flow file (i. e. spacesNavigationPanel) for collaborative with top navigation template :
Note: I am assuming you're using Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8.x
Goto Portal Builder - Assets tab localhost:8888/webcenter/portal/builder/administration/assets
Select Page Templates under Structure from left side pane and you'll see list of out of the box page templates (source not editable) and custom page templates (source editable) on the right side pane.
Take a copy of the existing 'Collaborative with Top Navigation' page template
Select the row 'Collaborative with Top Navigation'
    Click on Actions -> Copy
Change the display name (Default : Copy of Collaborative with Top Navigation) and description if needed.
Click OK to create a copy of 'Collaborative with Top Navigation' page template
Select the row w.r.t. newly created page template Copy of 'Collaborative with Top Navigation'
Click the checkbox to make it Available (Optional if you want to use this template later)
Click on Actions -> Edit Source to edit the source of selected page template.
You'll see template code in the window (by default).
Click on 'Page Definition' tab at the bottom of the template code window i.e. Switch to Page Definition tab.
    Under Executables, you can see the taskflow code w.r.t. spacesNavigationPanel as follows :      <taskFlow id="spacesNavigationPanel" taskFlowId="/oracle/webcenter/webcenterapp/view/taskflows/navigation/SpacesNavigationTopPanelCollaborative.xml#SpacesNavigationTopPanel" Refresh="ifNeeded" activation="deferred" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding"/>
I hope it answers your question.

    Hi,
First, are you sure that all DLL's related to BPC tasks have been correctly moved and registered (Copied from websvr/bin folder from BPC to DTS/Tasks folder of SQL server)?
If yes, check the security for the user group SQLServer2005DTSUser$SERVERNAME in the "Tasks" folder under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\. This is the user group that is used by the system to log in to the SISS services. Then, give the user group full rights and then restart the SSIS services and the Business Inteligence Development Studio.
    Hope this will help.

  • Editing a task in GW Cal removes the task from the tasklist

User assigned herself a task and copied her supervisor. If she goes in and edits the task it remains on her calendar but removes it from her tasklist folder. Why can you not see edited tasks in the tasklist folder? Thanks.

An excellent question, I get the same behaviour, and it certainly sounds
wrong and not how I've experienced using Tasks in the past (I haven't
used GW directly much for tasks in a few versions)
What happens if her supervisor edits the task?
What if her supervisor creates the task and issues it to her and then she
    edits it?
It would be very interesting to see how different combinations of people
    creating/editing shows up.
Do you have much in the way of SRs available to you? If you do that
might be the way to go, otherwise we certainly have other methods
    available to dig for you.

  • Edit The Task

we edit the tasks (task names in the project ) in project plan , what is the impact on timesheet.? Is there any chance that the timesheets get ‘rejected’ status?
Surendra Singh, MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010

    Hi Surendra,
The timesheet approval process is not correlated with the task name but with the task GUID. Thus changing the task name has no impact on the timesheet status.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
For a better troubleshooting, I suggest you do as the followings:
    1. Check the ULS log for more detailed error message, for SharePoint 2013, the ULS log is located at the path:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS
You can use ULS Log Viewer to check the information in the log.
    2. You can use fiddler to track if there is something wrong in the workflow request.
Here are some detailed articles about debugging workflow:

  • Lost the 'file, edit' etc'task bar on the left side of my mail menu.  my upper left screen reads 'welcome to lightroom moblie.  I never had nor can use these.  how do i back to basic LR and upper left task bar?

I have lost my 'file, edit, ...' task bar from the upper left side of my LR screen.  My upper left corner now reads something about welcome to Lightroom mobile. ( I have never had or used the mobile version and I can't use it anyway. )  When I push my mouse pointer up again the top of the screen the 'file, edit,...' does not reappear and stay as it has been doing for the last 3 years.  How can I get it back?  And, maybe what did I do so I can avoid this from happening again?  Thank you.  (I am not PC knowledgeable, please bear with me.)

Does the menu bar appear when you move your mouse pointer to the top of your display. If so then you could change the behavior of Lightroom via the menu Window->Screen Mode
    Hope that helps

  • Edit custom task fields in Project Schedule

Is it possible to edit custom fields for a task in the project schedule in PWA?
At this moment we are getting a message that we have to use Project Professional to make this change.

    Michiel,
Which version of Project Server are you using? What kind of custom field is it?
In short, yes it is posisble to edit custom fields for task via PWA (2010, 2013), as long as it is NOT a formula driven field.

  • Program no longer editable after task manager close

    Gurus of Labview,
I recently started messing around with event structures and I created a program where I inadvertently created an infinite loop condition so the program had to be stopped using abort execution. Unfortunately, abort execution did not work so I had to close Labview using the task manager.
After I closed down Labview and reopened it, my VI can still be run, however, there is no capability to edit it because I cannot access the block diagram (the selection is grayed out). What exactly happened? Did I break Labview?
    Sincerely yours, IdontknowanythingaboutLabviewapparently.

Sounds like the VI is corrupt.  Was there a recovery option?  Do you have an earlier version you can go back to?

  • Edit advanced task rules in SOA Composer

    Hi,
I've been trying to edit the routing rules in SOA composer; when I open the .task file, I see a tab for the rules file, but I'm not able to add any rules in there.
When I directly open the task file, I can add the rules in the RoutingRuleSet, but the HT is not using these rules for routing.
Any idea as to how to proceed with this.
The Jdev build I'm using is JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101227.1736.5923 & SOA composite editor version is 11.1.1.4.0.56.82.
P.S. When I try to add the same rules from Jdev, they work just fine.
    Thanks.

Don't know much about SOA Composer (sorry - you've hit the BPM forum), but you should be able to see the business rules from the Oracle BPM Composer. If you've installed BPM, go to http://xx:####/bpm/composer and you'll see business rules after poking around a little. Let me know if you need more help finding them.

  • Is it possible to edit a MDT Task Sequence after starting a deployment, between Hyper-V snapshots?

Using a Hyper-V VM, I take snapshots of my base image build between major sections (automatic updates, application installation, scripts and extras, etc.) with the intention of being able to go back to that area and look at it for troubleshooting's sake.
Each of these snapshots is manually taken during a pause in my MDT task sequence (using LTISuspend).  I would like to be able to roll back to these snaphots make edits to the task sequence (obviously to sections that haven't yet run), then resume and
see the changes implemented - but I don't know where the task sequence file(s) resides on VM being imaged, or if that can be changed after kicking it off at the very start of the build.
Is it possible to replace the task sequence file (and any other necessary files) that are cached locally on the VM during the imaging process?  Where are those files located?  Or any other way to implement changes to my task sequence so I wouldn't
have to start the image build completely from scratch?
This build takes about 6 hours.  Having to make even the slightest modification causes me to lose an entire day, so this would be golden even if I have to manually edit certain files!

    Hi,
Based on my known, you cannot edit the task sequence after starting the deployment.
However, I suggest you ask this issue in MDT forum for more professional solution:
