Editing a video with Photoshop CS5 extended.

In 2009, I used Photoshop cs3 extended following tip 48 that I found from Russell Brown, to adjust color and add text to a video.
Has that capability been removed from Photoshop?
I have Photoshop CS5 extended
Does anyone know how I can find Russell Brown's old tutorials?

  • Can I add a watermark to a video with photoshop CS3 Extended

Can I add a watermark to a video with photoshop CS3 extended or Web Premium 3, and if I can how do I do it?

Import the video as a new video layer (Layer --> Video --> New layer from file), add your watermark as another layer, then export the whole shebang using File --> Export --> Render Video. Be aware though, that there are severe limitations in what formats Photoshop accepts, exports and how they are compressed, so you may wish to check out After Effects or other tools...

  • Using plug-in "mystical tint tone" with photoshop CS5 extended x64

    Good evening,
I have installed this plug-in at the location C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins (default location). But I don't find this plug-in anywhere when photoshop CS5 is open.
    Thanks for your help,
    gv

You're right, Win32 is the API, so x86 would be more appropriate to describe the architecture.  Hardly anybody uses the term "x32".  But wouldn't just "32 bit" and "64 bit" have been better, if they want to make it less geeky?
By the way, the choices in development systems are "Win32" and "x64", and sometimes "x86".  "Win64" is not used that way.

  • I cant load .ant file with photoshop CS5 Extended version

I need to load a .ant file into photoshop cs5 please tell me how. When I simply double click it doesn't

I just Googled .ant and it seems ANT is a file extension used by SFR Calculator (formerly CalcANT). ANT files are used when saving the calculation data. No relation to Photoshop files at all. I strongly suspect that c.pfaffenbichler caught your typo. So:
Place your .atn file on your desktop.
Open Photoshop and shift it if necessary so that you can also see the .atn file on your desktop.
Choose Windows > Action  You will see it as a panel.
Double click on the desktop's .atn. It should load to your Actions panel. If that doesn't do the job, choose Load Actions... from the Actions menu in its upper right corner.

  • Rendering video... with Photoshop CS5 Extended

Once I click File > Export > Render Video... the exporting video progress bar stops at the middle and the rendering process does not finish.
    I've done the patch.
    I've the latest DirectX 11
Does anyone help me how to solve this problem.

As Encoding/Transcoding is an intense process, and is heavily dependeint on the CPU, especially with the H.264 CODEC, then reliant on the I/O Sub-system, i.e.your HDD's, their speed, controller type, available, defragmented free space, etc., I would explore the system.
This ARTICLE, while written more specifically for using Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing, might offer some tips.
If not, then see this ARTICLE for finding clues as to what might be going on with your system, while attempting to Export. Note: the link to The Case of the Unexplained, has been moved by MS, and this ARTICLE should get you the proper link.
Also, take a look over this ARTICLE. It is quite PrPro/PrE-centric, but might have a useful tip, or two.
    Good luck,

  • How to create a mask on individual frames of a video in Photoshop CS5 extended

I am working on a video piece and I need to mask out a moving figure throughout the entire video, what is the best way to to this?  I know that I can import the video frames to layers in CS3 and then create a mask on each frame, but there are thousands of frames - and when I render the video from the animation it is slow to run in quicktime.  Even if I were able to edit each frame, it seems like there should be a better way... I'm not terribly familiar with using Photoshop to edit video, maybe there is another program that would do what I want in a better way?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds like something Adobe Edge would be perfect for if it would just support video importing.
I created a mask over a video in Flash, but I had to convert the background video (which is masked) from mov to flv. Then you import it into Flash and stick the transparent PNG on a top layer for a mask. You can also animate the mask in Flash somewhat... more so if it's a vector object.
    Result: Http://www2.avatarix.com/manatee
I would prefer to do this in HTML5 though... which is what Adobe Edge is for. But I can't figure out how to import video into Edge. I've tried 5 different video formats... webm, ogv, mp4, mov and flv.
Hoping this will be a feature when it's finally out in the market.
    The struggle continues.

  • Image not displaying correctly Photoshop CS5 Extended V 12.1. (Same file OK in PS Elements)

    I am having a problem with Photoshop CS5 Extended V 12.1.
    The problem:
When I open some files, some shades of BLUE colour is displayed as BLACK
However the same file  opens and displays correctly if I open it using Photoshop Elements V9.0.3.
When I save the file as JPEG and re-open it, the problem returns.
Opening the JPEG file in any other application, including PS Elements, does not cause the problem
    Source of files
The original files came from a Nikon camera, saved in RAW format. It is possible that the original files were corrupted in some way as the shots had an unusual blue cast - which was easily resolved by Photoshop when I originally opened the RAW files. However, I'm not sure.
The problem is not universal as I've not been able to reproduce it with any other files (RAW or JPEG).
I have calibrated my monitor display settings sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (default)
    Other information:
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 12.1
    Operating System: Windows 7 64-bitVersion: 6.1 Service Pack 1
    System architecture: Intel CPU
    Family:6,
    Model:10,
    Stepping:9 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2
    Physical processor count: 8
    Processor speed: 3395 MHz
    Built-in memory: 8153 MB
    Free memory: 5089 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 7147 MB
Memory used by Photoshop: 60 %
    Image tile size: 128K

Thank you for yur reply, Curt. Yes, I do have the original RAW file. When I open it in PSE and PS, the colours appear correctly AT FIRST as shown here:
However, when I select "Open Image", it appears as here:
You will see that the blues in the lady's scarf and the wolly hat of a man in the forground are appearing as black. However, when the file is saved as JPEG or PNG and printed or viewed using PSE or Pait, or any other medium (even Premiere Elements), the colurs arer fine.
However, the same process when followed in PSE, does not result in the same outcome. The image displays correctly.

  • How do I edit Quicktime .mov video file in CS5 Extended ?

    Hi !
I'm a photographer using Photoshop CS 5 Extended and editing video using Apple Final Cut Pro 7 NLE editing studio.
I'd like to edit video footage in CS5 Extended. I have a Quicktime video .mov file that was shot with a Canon 5D2 and Canon 15mm fisheye lens and i would like to defish the footage to rectilinear using Photoshops Lens Correction Filter.
I have tried opening the movie file in CS5 Extended and it appears as a video layer in my layers window. I can defish the first frame (according to Animation palette), but the lens correction needs to be over the whole footage not just the first frame.
How do i do this and then output retouched / defished .mov file ?
I assume you can use a similar process to clone out dust spots in footage too ?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated ... thanks ...

Wow ! That was a speedy reponse ... thankyou !
I didn't realise i needed to convert into a smart object ... I tried that and it works !
    Woohoo !!
Only problem is ... the 10 second QT .Mov file has changed from 65Mb file size to 2.2Gb. It looks similar quality and the Quicktime settings were just default (High).
Any idea why file is sooooo big ?! Or how I can reduce it without losing too much quality ? Can't quite understand why the file size has ballooned and would be a problem editing it in Final Cut Pro 7.
    Thanks again ...

HI bought a new camera Nikon D610 , I am using adobe photoshop CS5 extended, I want to edit my photos in camera raw but it is not possible to do so . I need to download camera raw plugin for CS5 can some tell me how to do so or if there is a link for the camera plugin.
    Many thanks Pitt.

For that Nikon model you need ACR 8.3 that means CS6 or CC.  Or you can download the DNG converter convert your Nikon RAW files to Adobe RAW files. And then process the Adobe RAW files with CS5 ACR version  6.7

Is your Photoshop CS5 updated to 12.1?

Did you apply the recent Epson software 2.1.9 update?

I have a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended Edition for Students/Teachers which was never activated.  Can it still be activated with the proper proof of eligibility?

  • Serial number incorrect for Adobe Photoshop CS5 extended education edition

I received a serial number for my Adobe Photoshop CS5 extended education edition, but I get the message: this serial number is not valid for this product.
Apparently it's not possible to send an email to Adobe NL, so I hope someone can help me out.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there
I've checked your record and it looks like you've been provided with a CS6 serial number instead of CS5.
Please provide the details from the bar code label on the box & I'll arrange for the correct serial number to be sent to you.

  • I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended and am having trouble with it.

I just reinstalled Photoshop CS5 Extended from my original disk because I was having trouble with it. I did do an uninstall before installing. Every time I quit Photoshop I get this message: "Could not save Preferences because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to unlock the file or change permissions on the file or enclosing folders." Can you tell me what to do to fix this? I went to get info and made changes to read and write, but it made no difference. Thanks for your help.

Some folders are hidden in the Finder. Use the "Go to Folder" command for that.
Go menu > Go to Folder, enter:
    /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings

How can I download and re-install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac) for which I have a licence?  I lost the previous version in a disk crash.  I tried downloading the full Photoshop CS5 installer, but I was told I couldn't run the installer because I didn't have permission.

Be sure to right click and run the installer as an administrator if you have trouble. If it still fails, download the installer again.
