Editing a Web Template in Dreamweaver
Is there a way I can edit a template permanantly in Dreamweaver?
I use one of the provided templates and use the 'Contact' field as an external link. However I need two links not one, (apart from the header), so if there is a way to add an extra link would be great.
Take a look at these:

Error when editing a Web Template
Hi,
I have a Web Template created in BW 3.5, When I edit the template in web application designer and run it in browser it gives some junk. Is there any other way by which I can edit the template.
Thanks.
Edited by: SAPBILearner on Apr 15, 2010 10:48 PMHi,
Are you editing that template in the same version of BW or in an higher version. IF you want to run it in BI7.0 you need to first migrate it to 7.0 and the you can run it.
Are you able to run other web templates sucessfully ??? This is to check that there is no issue with your EP.
It will be helpful if you are more specific of your issue. Thanks.

How do I convert a Expression Web template into Dreamweaver CC?
Just got the Adobe CC subscription they said I could convert an Expression Web site template to Dreamweaver? It has a file master.dwt that has the common header, footer and menu
Thanks, Dick - that helps. Save this code into the Templates folder at the root of the site. Name the saved file with a *.dwt extension. Let me know when you've done that and I'll tell you what to do next.

Editing photoshop web galleries in dreamweaver
Hi I am new to web design and i have all of these galleries
that photoshop has designed for me. I am using Cs2 on a pc and the
gallery i used is called flash 1. I would like to move the
thumbnails to the side and also put links to my blog and other
things on that web gallery. If anybody can please help that would
be great. I imported my html file into dreamweaver and it works but
in dreamweaver it says enable javascript i know that just means
that the people that come to my site that do not have javascript
enable will have to enable it. Anyways if anybody could help that
would be greatly appreciated thank you very much for your
time.Tom,

There is probably some markup in your page that only shows
when
JavaScript is turned off. Something like this:
<noscript>enable javascript</noscript>
This displays in the DW Design View because JavaScript is not
running.
This is not really a problem, but you can hide it using:
View > Noscript content

How Do I Import A Photoshop CS4 Template into Dreamweaver CS4
Ok. Here's the deal, my friend and I spent alot of time working in Photoshop to come up with a nice template. He's even done all the coding to animate the buttons for standard, hover over, and click and all that. It's really cool, the buttons slide back and "lock" into place dependent upon which page you're on. However, I want to take all of that information and plug it into my website without loosing the button functionality. Unfortunately, every time I try to put the photoshop web template into Dreamweaver, it always converts it into an image. So, how do I add my complete photoshop web template and all it's functionality into Dreamweaver?
I'm afraid Photoshop is a graphics program ill suited for generating good HTML and CSS code. Use Photoshop to create your images only. Use DW to build your HTML, CSS and menus.
Have a look at this tutorial:

Is it possible to edit a web Gallery in Dreamweaver or Flash that was created in CS4 Bridge?
I like the standard web gallery produced I just need to add descriptive text under the pictures.
I have about 15 web galleries to make with about 50 photos each.
I am using Flash and dreamweaver to produce this web site and looking for some automation.
Any recommendations on another way?
ThanksCurtis,
Not trying to be flippant, but since the galleries are
Flash
galleries, it seems this question is better asked in the Flash or Dreamweaver forum. -
Wanted to Edit "Create Web Photo Album" template
I'm using MX2004.
I've recently done a major, major overhaul on a website I
manage. We use the "Create Web Photo Album" (not an extension - the
one that came with DW) extensively, but with the new design, the
basic photo album template isn't going to cut it. I could probably
sit with it myself and drop created photo albums into a template
page and make it work, but I'm not the only one doing photo albums
and some of the other people aren't the most... technically
competent.
What I'd like to do is somehow edit the template that
Dreamweaver uses to create the photo album so that it looks like
how we're wanting without any post-album-created-action.
Is this possible? Is there an extension that'll work for this
as well? (Looks like the Exchange is currently down, so that isn't
helping me in my search.)Get the free extension "Create Web Photo Album 2" from Adobe.
It has many
pre made templates plus instructions on how to create your
own.

Edit an OS Commerce template in dreamweaver
Hi
I downloaded an os commerece template for my first e commerce store and everything is set up ok, just need to edit the whole template to my products and colours. I am trying to remove the stamp at the bottom that says designed by monstertemplate, with their website links at the bottom but not having any luck. I can see the the links code when I turn on the live code view in dreamweaver but cant see it when I go to codes to try and edit it. Maybe I am missing something and would appricate any help. This is the website:
http://creativeinky.com/site/index.php - The links I want to remove are at the footer of the website. This has not been edited yet and the store is not functional.
This is what I see in codes:( I have tried to remove oscommerce at the top but that does not help). Which code is for the stamp at the bottom links as I cannot see it in this code view where I can edit it. Please help.

You need to de-construct your design comp images in Fireworks. Optimize and save images only to your DW Local Site Folder. Then re-assemble everything inside a pre-built CSS Layout in DW.

Purchased 'eCommerce Template' but not able to edit most of it in Dreamweaver?
I bought a .PHP eCommerce Template for Dreamweaver. I open it
up and I can only edit the body of the template, the navigation
(including some stupid advertising banners) are 'greyed' out and I
can't edit them. What do I need to remove in the code to get this
thing going?
Here is the code:
EDIT: I had to put the code in a .TXT file and upload it
because it was too long:
http://www.blackreefdesigns.com/misc/phpcodetext.txtYou would have to have a good understanding of DW Templates
and how they
work before tackling this *big* job. It is proper to have the
navigation in
a non-editable region - otherwise you'd have to manually edit
it on every
page, which is NOT what you want to do.
If the edits you want to make are edits that you want to
propagate to all
child pages, then you'd have to make those edits to the
TEMPLATE page, not
to a child page as you have posted below.

Strange Web Template Editing Problem
Hi, I have a master template that I have just inserted the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN Web Template. I changed the header and footer template web items to use my header and footer templates.
Every time I go back in to edit the master template the editor is adding the following text to the top of the template:
"TODO: Potential Ancestor in TemplateMergeTnT TODO: Potential Ancestor in TemplateMergeTnT "
I have to delete the text each time when I save the template so the text doesn't appear on the web page.
Can anyone tell me why this is being added to the top of my template?

Thanks, Ken MurrayHi,
This is an error that must be corrected. Please open customer message on it.
Please attach your template to the message and open systems for investigation.

Web template not visible and editable by others
Hi Guru,
I have a problem of sharing a web templated with others . In the WAD, I created a web template and saved the template. By default, it is saved in the favorite folder. However, it is not accessable or visible by another developer who needs to continue the development on this template. I have asked our SAP BW security person and she tried a few things and it didn't work. Can someone share the insights of what we should do to allow a web template created by one person to be edited by another person? Thanks in advance.Hi,
If you provide the other person with the name of the template, he should be able to modify it. Instead of searching when opening, enter the exact name.
Hope this helps.

A friend, recently graduated doctor, has asked me to help with his web site. I can dabble with Dreamweaver but I don’t consider my self to be an expert. So I am thinking of suggesting that he purchase a web site template and then I can make the necessary changes.
This Web is designed to sell Medical Remedy Kits. There Kits are for various ailments, Cold, Flu, Diarrhea, etc. If you know a place where I can buy (or get it free) a web template, please let me know. The template web site should be easily modifiable & able to the do the following:
- The Web Site Template should be clean and geared towards medical applications
- Easy to modify
- Catchy
- Able to display Medical Remedy Kits in the products page
- On-Line Ordering
- PayPal Payments
- Print shipping manifests
- Online Shipping
- Shipping/Tracking Number information generated and sent to the customer
- Inventory (It will be nice feature)
I can’t think of anything else but there are probably many more features out there which others are using. Your suggestions are highly appreciated.
Can you suggest where I can look for such a Web Template?
JennJenn,
That's a tall wish list. For the sake of this discussion let's define what a Template is. A purchased template is not much more than a CSS or table based framework and image files. Some of the better templates come with PSD files you can modify in Photoshop, too. But honestly, there's no such thing as a "magic Template" that can do everything you want out of the box.
How good are you with server-side programming languages and databases? Which languages does your server support - PHP, ASP, ColdFusion....? For an E-commerce solution that integrates very well with DW, look at http://Cartweaver.com.
Good luck with your project,
Nancy O.

Customizing Photoshop Web Gallery in Dreamweaver
HOW DO I STOP WIDTH OF IMAGE FROM STRETCHING? (height is in
proportion)
more details:
I've almost finished customizing a Photoshop web gallery in
Dreamweaver, which is completely confusing for me (i'm a novice)
and any head way i made in changing the template was mainly from
trial and error as it is very unclear in the instrutions on how to
edit.
I finally have a template that is starting to look the way I
want with the thumbnails at the bottom in an iframe and with the
larger image above with arrows on either side. I edited it so the
only thing that's changed in size on the image is the Height so the
width can change automatically.
When the practice gallery I made first opens I've got it
displaying each photo for 4 seconds then going to the next, there's
also the option to pause. While it's playing when it first opens
everything looks fine, the image sizes are right the height is
correct and there's no stretching. BUT as soon as I click on a
thumbnail at the bottom it decides to stretch the width of the
image to fit the table, and then every image after in the slide
show is also stretched. Even if i pause the slides and select a
different image thumb it displays the streched image and not the
proper proportioned image that is displayed when the page is first
opened.
Anyone know how to fix this??????
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thank you.

TutorialsMy advice is to get a 3rd party gallery creation program.
Many are free and most are better than Adobe's half-baked offerings.

Fortran library for computation? or should I learn C instead?
I think Fortran is a good choice for computation. It works as its name suggests: just translating the formulas and no need to consider how your computer actually works. The problem is: I can not find free libraries like GSL to do random number genera
