Editing Accordians Locks Up MUSE

I think this may be since the last update, I am using the latest version, when I edit my accordians 1.) the page goes into some weird uneditable state 2.) MUSE won't allow me to save, export html, nothing -- all the top menus go grey 3.) eventually just gives me a Submit Error Report box and then locks up. I can't even quit it, I have to force quit it.
I have repeated this same process 5, 10, 20????? times. Restarted my computer several times, repaired disk permissions - nada.
It's doing it again still.
Any suggestions from anyone would be great -- I am on a deadline and one to make some $$$!
Otherwise, please take this as a Bug Report and I shall have to redesign my page without accordians for now.

Hello all, quick update on this issue here:
....well I worked for a while with an Adobe tech, and the consensus on my particular issue here was that I placed my Accordion "inline" and so that was making areas of it uneditable, and basically confused MUSE and it locked up, etc....
Well -- Dear Adobe, I put my Accordions inline to have the greatest control over the spacing on my pages between elements and text, especially since browser to browser things view differently. I try to "inline" as much as possible for this very reason.
I never did hear back from the very helpful Adobe tech, but he assured me he was going to research a way that we could "inline" our accordions and maybe eventually get them to work seemlessly that way.

Hi,
All the application module properties are defined using configurations on the application module. The settings are stored in the bc4j.xcfg file (when you look in Jdev, select the application module, then look in the structure window and expand the files node). The configurations can be edited by right-clicking on the application module.
Usually it is practical to create at least a second configuration for deployment, and use that in the Datacontrols.dcx file in your GUI project.

What do you mean by "locked"? Anyway, Adobe Reader cannot edit PDFs.

Upgraded to Muse CC can't edit site created in Muse CS6

I just created my first MUSE site in CS6 and was very happy until I upgraded to Muse CC. Now I can't edit the site. I really don't want to spent a day rebuilding it. What can I do?

Thanks for your reply. Problems solved. I had inadvertently locked the items
on one of the pages and could not therefore edit it. The real problem was me
being new to MUSE and not yet understanding the nuances.

How to edit a "locked" file

Hey all,
I recently edited a resume on a friends Mac computer and sent a copy to myself to my email. When I received the file, it was locked. Might be a pretty simple question, but how do i unlock the file and continue to edit the copy on my computer? I'm using Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 at the moment if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

Select it in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu, and uncheck the Locked checkbox.

Unable to Edit Number Locked In Speed Dial Position

All my Speed Dial listings were ported over to a new 8900 from an 8300. I also changed carriers. Coincidentally, I had my old carrier's voice mail access number programmed into the "W" position in the Speed Dial list on the 8300. That number is now in the "W" position on the 8900, which is the default position for the voice mail access number on the 8900. I am unable to delete the old number so I can enter my new carrier's voice mail access number. There is no EDIT option for that position, but the EDIT option is available for all other numbers in my Speed dial list EXCEPT the position Q, which has a default feature "Change Profile to Vibrate." It would be nice to know how to delete that feature, too. Can anyone help?

There are three keys preassigned
A Lock System
Q Change to vibrate
W Voicemail
You can change this ones, but if for any reason you reset the device, the preassigned keys come back
To change this go to phone, press menu, view speed dial list, go to the A (for ex), press enter, and choose the contact you want.
Remember to create a new contact called Voicemail or something like that to change the Voicemail Key.

Classification needs to be editable in locked status

Hi,
We have Document stats 'RL' which has locked status 'S'. So when a document comes to this state no data or fields can be editable.If we change the configurations and remove 'S' from 'Rl' status we have all the fields open and editable.
In Change mode CV02n we need to have the classification fields to be changed.
Is this possible ?

regarding your question I have to inform you that the classification data is not editable in the standard if the document info record is
set to a locking status. In this case the message 26035 'Status does not allow you to change certain data' is raised in the
status line of the screen. The longtext of this message clearly explains that only a few data is changeable in this kind of status:
The system checks the status type of the new status in the IMG. The document has a status of status type S (lock status) or O (original being processed).
If a document has a status with one of these status types, not all fields are available for entry. You can still carry out the following
functions:
- change the status
- link objects to the document
- change the deletion indicator (subject to authorization check)
So from standard point of view I can only confirm that the system is working correctly and the classification data cannot be changed.

Can I edit the HTML that Muse exports in an HTML editor like Dreamweaver or Coda?

If I create a site in Muse, can I export the HTML and pass it along to a web developer to add additional hand-coding?

Choose Object > Insert HTML. In the window that appears, select the default placeholder text and Press Delete (Mac) or Backspace (Windows) to remove it. Choose Edit > Paste to paste the HTML code into the HTML Code field. Click OK to close the HTML Code window.

Java and XML :: Unlocking, editing and locking an XML file using JAVA

I need to develop a form with Address field , When i enter address information and submit the form it needs to generate an
XML file for furthur processing.
Now my problem is :
When i want to edit the address....after submitting the form by entering the address information, it should unlock
the XML and edit the XML and then lock it.
How can i achive programatically, unlocking an XML file, editing the file, and locking it?.

There's a FileLock class, you know, in the java.nio.channels package. However before you start using it you should read its API documentation carefully including statements like " Whether or not a lock actually prevents another program from accessing the content of the locked region is system-dependent and therefore unspecified".
Personally I would say that if you need to synchronize access to this XML file, you should consider changing your design to use something that supports locking a bit better, like a database. Or by writing a server that encapsulates the XML file and accepts requests to read it and update it, serializing those requests appropriately.

Problems editing accordian panels

Hi,
Have an issue where InContext editing was capable last month of editing a page with Spry accordian panels, but recently weno longer can edit the panels.
The subject page is

which is a dance class calendar.
Each class is defined as a repeating region consisting of a title and a description, both within a Spry accordian panel which when click expands the accordian detail window to show the description.
I set this up for the client weeks ago and to my surprise it worked OK with InContext editing. However, now we find it is difficult to edit the text in the title windows -- perhaps some recent update to InContext editing has broken this ability.
We can add or duplicate a repeating region to add a new class, but when we try to click inside the Title box for that class we can't seem to insert a cursor anymore to change the text -- InContext editing now seems confused and wants to expand/contract the description panel, rather than let us insert a cursor to edit the title. We can insert the cursor in the description and edit it OK.
This fails using Windows Firefox, IE8 and IE7 so trying another browser doesn't help.
I tried to talk the client into a simpler calendar without the Spry expanding accordian (just have the class title and description always exposed) but he would rather abandon Adobe's software than give up that functionality. What he really wanted rather than the accordian was for the class description to appear in a popup window when the cursor hovers any title, but I discovered there is no way to use Spry tips or any javascript popup in a way that the client can edit with InContext editing. I was surprised to find the Accordian panel did work fine. Why it has now stopped working is a mystery.
The code for a day on the calendar looks like this:

The Accordion keyboard navigation feature (the ability to change the open panel using the keyboard keys ) is preventing InContext Editing to properly edit the contents of the editable region.
You can disable to keyboard navigation feature of an Accordion by setting it to false in the constructor:
    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1", { useFixedPanelHeights: false , enableKeyboardNavigation:false});
Note: to disable keyboard navigation when the page is loaded inside InContext Editing use:
var useKeyboard = typeof(top.ice) == "undefined";
var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1", { useFixedPanelHeights: false , enableKeyboardNavigation:useKeyboard });
This will make the editable regions editable only in Internet Explorer.
There's a CSS rule used by the Accordion widget to disable text selection on the panel titles in Firefox and Safari:search .AccordionPanelTab in the SpryAccordion.css file and remove:
    -moz-user-select: none;
    -khtml-user-select: none;

Changing or editing text keeps crashing Muse! Help! This is very annoying!

Everytime I edit or change a text font in a text box Muse crashes. Is there anyway to avoid this?

The crashes you're encountering relate to the font menu submenus. We're painfully aware of it and very actively working on a solid fix and subsequent update.
There is no 100% workaround for avoiding the crash, but you can reduce its frequency by being very deliberate when making selections from the font menu or a font submenu. If, at the time you decide to click you keep the mouse cursor over the same item for a slow count of 1 before clicking and never click on an item in the main font menu that has a submenu (a gesture that would serve no purpose, but which would trigger the crash), that should avoid the crash in most cases.

PSE 8, Edit, Preferences locks up

I have Photoshop Elements 8 and using Windows 7 operating system. When I am in Organize and go into Edit and then Preferences and then try to click on anything in the Preferences PSE 8 locks up. Any suggestions? This means I can not do a sync or change anything.

I had already tried that, but signed in again and signed out. Still locks up in the loading process. None of the preference items works, locks up in loading with everything.
