I have the same need. I have a service ticket for my small business and i have to hand type the info on a seperate word doc and print it out over top of my pre-printed pdf doc. If you find out how to do this that would be amazingly helpful.

Odonnells52 you will still need to install Adobe Acrobat Professional prior to being able to make edits to PDF or utilize Acrobat.   By default the installation files have been saved to your download folder.
If you continue to face difficulties with the Adobe Download Assistant then please see Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant.
You can also download the installation files directly from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X if you are unable to locate the downloaded installation files.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard crashes when editing a document

I have a user that has Adobe Acrobat 9 standard, version is 9.2.0.124.  Whenever he goes to edit the document Adobe hangsup and then crashes.  This is the error he gets from the event views.
Faulting application Acrobat.exe, version 9.2.0.124, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x65537661.
I did an uninstall and reinstall of Adobe recently to try and clear the error.  Before that he was getting a message about admplugin.apl being the cause of the crash.  But well it's still happening after that.  Anyone know what I can do to resolve this for him?
Did an update again, but still getting the crashes this time the message is.
Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 9.5.1.283, faulting module admplugin.apl, version 9.5.1.283, fault address 0x000834bb.
So the pluginfile is still the cause of it.

You might try removing the plugin according to the post at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/393593. You might just want to move it to a temporary location and see if that solves the problem. You may need to run a Repair later, but give this a try in the meantime.

  • Edit Protected Document in Adobe Acrobat DC

Unfortunately, I am on my work iPad and Adobe updated on it's own. Everything was fine and now the Adobe Acrobat DC is all different. I would like to edit a document that is protected. I created it, I didn't protect it, why is it protected? I can type in the boxes but I cannot sign. When I send it to Fill & Sign, my text disappears.
Again, I created it and didn't protect it, how do I change this?

If it's a Mac font and you're on Windows, you can't. If you are also on a Mac, you'll need to purchase the fonts (fonts are generally non-transferable, like software. One of the reasons pdf exists), install them and try your edits.
But it's best to edit the original document and create a new pdf when finished.

How do I edit a document already in PDF format in adobe?

    Thank you Niel.
Yes I do have a smiley face and I've clicked on it and opened a window with lots of things in it, incuding Documents.
I've opened Documents and in it I can see the title I want to rename. When I click on it, it highlights, but I can't see where to go to change its name. If I double click it opens.
    Thanks for your help.

  • When I download a saved Adobe document I am unable to edit it

When I download a saved Adobe document I am unable to edit it., how do I edit such documents?

    Thank you Michael/
Many of my files need periodic updating, which I can do with my Word documents. If I scan a document it is saved as an Adobe document and thus cannot be readily changed. Clearly I need to uninstall my Adobe program.

  • Editing Adobe PDF print documents

I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.2.6 in Vista OS.
I normally print  documents into Adobe PDF and save it.  I want to copy some of the text from that document by selecting a sentence in the document.  However, I am not able to do it in the printed document. I am not able to make any undelines or any marks to the text or copy a sentence as I can do with other normal Adobe PDF documents.
I wonder anyone here knows how to make that PDF print documents editable, such as copy a sentence or make underline so on as we can do in the normal documents.
    Thanks for any help.

    Satyrias, try this-
Open the PDF document. Click on Tools Menu -> Advanced Editing -> Touch up Text Tool.
Select the Text. (It will show Loading Fonts... in the right bottom corner). Once done you can select the text and modify it.
However, if you only want to copy a text -> Use 'Select Tool' it looks like an 'i-beam' on toolbar. User it to select text and copy that.
If you want to apply styles:
Right click on the selected text and click on Properties.
Here you can change the color or apply stroke to make it bold.
But I'm afraid, you cannot underline the text here... Adobe recommends users to create the document outside Acrobat and when they are done with that they can finally convert to PDF. There is very limited options available when it comes to edit the documents. Only those that are majorly used.
If the document is a scanned pdf or its an image you can try the following: (However, using Acrobat 8, as its an older version, the chances are not as great as using Acrobat X)

  • How can i edit a adobe document

    hi

And even Acrobat's editing capabilities are very limited. For major edits, it's usually better to edit the original file (the one from which the PDF file was made) and produce a new PDF.
I am assuming that by "a adobe document" you mean a PDF file.

  • What version of adobe allows edit capability on an adobe document?

What version of adobe allows edit capability on an adobe document?

Note that Adobe is a company, not a piece of software.
Adobe Reader for iOS (which is what this forum is for) is for VIEWING PDF files. Not for EDITING PDF files.
There is no file editor software that I'm aware of for iOS devices. You can do limited editing of PDFs on Acrobat Pro for Macintosh or Windows. This software is NOT free.

  • Will Adobe Export PDF convert a pdf to an editable Pages document for iMAC

Will Adobe Export PDF convert a pdf document to an editable Pages document for iMAC?

    HI HolySpiritThree,
ExportPDf will convert the PDF into Docx and doc format. Then you can download that converted file to you desktop. So if you have Word on MAc you can use that to edit the converted PDF file.
I'm not sure about Pages, if pages can open(supports) .docx or .doc files then you can always use Pages to edit the document. I hope that answer your question.
Let me know if that helps.

Transfer them to your harddisk immediately.
