Editing After Import

Question

Hi there, I am curious as to the extent or no extent of the
editing capabilities after one imports a PPT in to Captivate. Once
of my developers says it is pretty much non existent and that all
edits should be done in the PPT file including adding audio and
then re imported. Is this the case?

Based on my experience with Captivate 3 and the advice
presented in this forum, I shall attempt to translate:

Well, if you have image editing software and know how to use
it, you can make edits to the background images that get created.
While Captivate is able to import Powerpoint files the
validity of colors, audio tracks, object placement, et. al., are
all up in the air in terms of if the imported file bears even a
passing resemblance to the original document.
(Oh, also, good luck exporting from Captivate, especially if
you attempt to export to Flash)

Even simple tasks, such as editing text, are beyond the scope
of Captivate. Speaking of bulleted text, be aware that using a
bullet will disable anti-aliasing for the rest of the text field
making the font practically unreadable.

Adobe has released a half-finished product which hopefully
upon the fourth iteration of the product will feature "advanced
features" such as import, export and text editing.
