Editing an email link

I am editing an email link. When I click it to send an email, it doesn't update the address I had edited.

Are you using the Hyperlink function i.e. in a cell you have =hyperlink(...)? Or did you select text in a cell and use the inspector to designate it as a link?
It's not clear in your post. If you used the inspector, you should make ure your using the inspector to change it, not the cell contents. The cell contents has nothing to do with the email link itself. I change mine in the inspector and it changes the mailto for me no problem.
If I use hyperlink function, it changes too. So give us more details and we might be a little more help,

Error when trying to open, edit & save the document from email link

Hi,
The error occurs when user tries to open the document from the email link (after the document is "shared" with them.
The recipient has been given edit rights. When the document is opened it is opened in read only. The recipient will click "Edit Document" and then they receive an error
"The file or folder name http://servername/sites/documents/Shared Documents/IT/Test/TESTfile.xlsx?NoRedirect=true' contains characters that are not permitted. Enter a different name."
Any suggestions please.

I see that in the

Mine happens when I click on the link from the email body. An exact thread I found :

But no solution is mentioned there as well.

How can I get to Yahoo Mail from email links on Craigslist?

I have looked through the discussions, but I am not finding anything specific to my problem. I am not using Apple Mail at all. I am using a Yahoo email account only. When I am visiting a web site and I click on a link to email someone from that site, Mail always automatically opens. I have to copy the email address, launch Safari, access my Yahoo Mail, compose a new email, and paste in that address in order to send the email from Yahoo. It's a pain.
My question is this: How can I configure my Mac to NOT automatically open Mail but rather to automatically open Yahoo as the client from which to send an email?
The best example of when I'd need to do is when surfing Craigslist. When I see an ad I want to reply to, I click the seller's Craigslist-generated email link. I want THAT link to take me to Yahoo, not Apple Mail.
Any ideas or work-arounds that will enable that to happen?

There may be an solution but I don't think it will be simple and I don't know what it is.
One problem is when you say, "open Yahoo as the client." Yahoo isn't a client or application as such, it is just a web page. When you click on a "mailto" link it tells the browser to open your mail application, and Yahoo isn't an application.

People were complaining that the only way to change your mail preferences was to actually set up an account using OSX's Mail application which was the one you didn't want to use anyway. However, the best you could maybe do using the utilities mentioned on the page is to tell your computer to set Safari as your mail application; I don't know how to get it to then go to the Yahoo website as part of the package. Maybe some kind of advanced scripting?
Edit: It looks like Yahoo also has a way of connecting directly to it using a mail application if you pay for the premium service.

Thunderbird email links will no longer open on the Firefox browser. (I have to use another browser to open email links.)

Since a recent update (either for Firefox or Thunderbird, don't remember which), links in my Thunderbird emails will not open in Firefox. I can't even open the Thunderbird "help" link. In desperation, I installed Opera, and the email links work perfectly well. There seems to be some sort of disconnect between Thunderbird and Firefox.

I fixed this myself. You have to ensure that Firefox is the default browser. In the Firefox menu (maybe under Edit if you are running Linux) go to Preferences. Click "Advanced" then in the "General" tab click the button toward the bottom that says "Check now" and Firefox will automatically check if it is the default browser and, if it is not, ask you if you want to make it default. Answer "yes" to this question.

How do I make gmail the default email program for email links in the Mozilla browser?

In previous versions of Mozilla I was able to click an email link , for example, on a craigslist listing and it would automatically open my gmail login page or if I was already logged in it would prompt a new email (compose) with the email field already populated with the email link from which it was prompted. Hard to explain but currently it initiates an Outlook Express session which I don't use or even have configured. How is this process edited to work the way I would like it to? Thanks

How do I copy an email link and paste it into my email?

Just got a hand-me-down MacBook Pro. I need to send an email to someone who's posted an ad on Craigslist. How do I, a) copy the link for their email; and, b) paste it into the address field of my Outlook mail?
If I just click on the email link in CL, the computer wants to direct me to some default email client, which I'm not using. So I want to copy and paste the address.

From the OS Help menu:
Copy from one document to another
Open both documents, select the text, picture, or movie you want to copy, and then drag it to the other document.
If you can’t drag an item from a document window, select the item and choose Edit > Copy. Then click in the other document window and choose Edit > Paste.

I'm using outlook email, Firefox 11 and Windows 7 Home but email links do not open Firefox even though it's my default browser, Fix?

My email links fail to open Firefox 11. They used to last week but IE updated and now links in my outlook emails do not open Firefox 11 even though it's my default browser. When I change to IE as the default the links open IE.

Email link

I have an Apex application sending an email to when a new assignment has been assigned to them. The email contains a link to the page where you can see the assignment.
The application has an authentication schema and due to security, url must have an checksum.
My problem is I need to pass the id of the assignment in the email link but due the security /checksum I can not access the page with the assignment.
How can i create an url with session id and checksum like the one below ?
This url is from when i access the assignment from inside the application.

The process has to be that when you click the email you first authenticate and then get access to page 7 where you can see the assignment. Normally when you sign in you are redirected to page 1.

Email link in a Jpeg Photo

So I called tech support and asked them this question
The first question was how do i add text to a image i have already placed on my page.
Answer: Export the image to a pic editor. LIke photoshop.
Ok fair enough
Then my next question was:
How do i get e link or email link on the text in the photo?
Once i have my image and text the way i want it, its saved as a image and i cant edit the text.
So my question is really two questions i guess.
How do i get text on a image in dreamweaver. If a editor is needed, then how do i set a link up to another page?

Use the smallest image size necessary for the task. Small image slices or tiles make good backgrounds on web pages. Cannot use email link add-in with windows 8.1

Emailing links directly from firefox using my email used to be easy but now using windows 8.1 (and currently firefox v 37.0.1) I keep getting sent to a page requesting that I add my email account (office 365). However when I do this it just says that this account is already added and does not give me any other options.

Editing an email address in Pages.

If I make a typo in an email address I'm unable to correct my mistake because Pages converts the cursor to the hand icon and opens an email window. How can I edit an email address without deleting it and starting over?

Run the insertion point into the link, uing the arrow keys.
Uncheck the indicated box.
Edit, the select the text.
Recheck the box.

When I create email link the text disappears

I don't produce websites but I make edits as needed if not too complex. I know this is probably beyond simple but I'm not getting it. I'm trying to create an email link on client contact page. I type in [email protected] Preview in browser. Fine. I highlight the email address. Go to create email button link. Preview in browser. The link is now there but the text is invisible. I'm using DW in CS5. Delete the line. Put the cursor where I want it. I select create email link and type in link name and the email address which are both the same ([email protected]). Not working.
Update: Googled how to make email link in DW and followed the instructions. Everytime I make a link the text becomes invisible but the link work.

A wild guess: Your link color is white on a white background. Or your link color is black on a black background. Link colors are usually contained in the sitewide CSS. Without a URL to your problem page, it's impossible to comment further.

OK, Theleo, I have to admit I am a bit confused with what you are asking. Do you want an email link on your "admin" dashboard that when you click on it conveniently opens your Outlook with "Welcome User" in the Subject line and allows you to craft a "welcome letter" to a new user or something else?
If the above is true, you don't have to mess with the "engine" of OBI. Just follow the instructions in the link so that when you open your "My Dashboard," you can have a link to click. If this is not what you are looking for (or an alternative to putting the link in the banner area), then please explain in more detail who is getting the link and for what purpose. Thanks.

I had no issues before, but after my recent auto update by FF i suddenly do not have my yahoo email within firefox open when clicking someones online email link. It instead opens yahoo in IE.
How do i make it stop this and open in FF?

Weblogic console Edit EJB Descriptor link missing

Hi..
I am running weblogic 6.1 sp1. And I have a set of EJB's deployed. But when I click
on any ejb in the tree view in console, i can not see the Edit EJB Descriptor link
on the right hand side screen.
I have two server instances running with the same set of EJB's deployed. And I can
get this link on one console and do not get it on the other console.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong with it ? Or is there any setting using which we
can disable the access to Edit EJB Descriptor link ?

hi..
I have NOT disabled the link myself.... but for some reasons, the link is not available.
I also checked the right click menu (right click on the deployed ejb in the tree
view) and i didnt get the Edit EJB Descriptor option there also... I have two server
instances running in Development mode and one console is not showing the link while
the other is showing the link..
I am attaching a screenshot to explain the situation. Can anyone has experienced
this before ? Please help me..

Descriptors - its present both in the Dev and the Prod mode.
Besides the link in the right frame, you can also right click on the EJB
Name in the navigation tree to edit the descriptors ....
